We had a truly wonderful stay at this Northern Lights resort. Although we did not see the Northern Lights due to record-breaking snowfall, absolutely no fault of the resort, the experience itself was exceptional and memorable in all the best ways. The food deserves a special mention. It was outstanding. In fact, we never even made it to breakfast because we were still so full from the previous day’s meals. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, comforting, and delicious, especially after long, snowy days. The provided cold-weather outerwear package was perfect. There is truly no need to overpack heavy winter gear if you use what they supply. It was high-quality, warm, and made everything easy and stress-free. What really set this place apart was the small, locally owned feel. The owners were present, engaged, and genuinely invested in their guests’ experience. That personal touch made the stay feel welcoming and special rather than transactional. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to make the dining room a bit more multi-purpose during downtime. With the cold temperatures and limited daylight, movement can be minimal, so offering something like yoga or gentle stretching sessions would be a lovely addition. Even without the Northern Lights, we left feeling grateful, well-fed, warmly outfitted, and truly cared for. We would absolutely recommend this resort

We had an amazing stay from start to finish. The food was fantastic at every meal, and the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Our room was incredible—spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The massive windows overlooking the wilderness were a highlight on their own. We treated ourselves to hot stone massages, which were absolutely wonderful. There wasn’t quite enough snow for snowmobiling while we were there, so the team had booked us in to a glass blowing class instead, and it turned out to be such a fun and unique experience. Evenings by the campfire were a real treat. Sitting around with the other guests, sipping hot cocoa, making s’mores, and swapping stories created such a warm, relaxed atmosphere. We only saw the aurora on our first night, but honestly, the company and the cozy fire made every night memorable. The absolute highlight of the trip was the dog sledding. The scenery was so stunning it almost didn’t look real. The team working with the dogs were fantastic—friendly, chatty, and clearly devoted to the animals. Seeing the bond they had with the dogs made the experience even more special. Overall, the Northern Lights Resort & Spa delivered an unforgettable getaway, full of great food, great people, and truly unique adventures.

We stayed at the Northern Lights Resort with the hope of witnessing the aurora borealis—but what we found was so much more. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the beautifully appointed cabins, the exquisite gourmet meals served three times daily, and the exceptional hospitality of the entire staff. Mike welcomed us with captivating stories during our drive to the resort, setting the tone for an unforgettable stay. Roberto, the resort manager, ensured every detail was perfect. Kelly, our cheerful server at lunch and dinner, greeted us with a radiant smile and always remembered our favorite cocktails. James, the chef, wowed us with masterful flavor combinations at every meal—truly a culinary artist. Marshall kept the fire going from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., creating a cozy haven for watching the Northern Lights in comfort. Kiera’s homemade cinnamon buns were a delightful treat. Karl and Yu guided us through daytime adventures, while Ida made sure our rooms were immaculate and welcoming. Toby and Lynn, the owners, have built something truly special—a resort where the service is extraordinary and the staff feels like family. This was the first time I’ve ever stayed somewhere and knew everyone’s name. It felt like coming home.

We had an absolutely exceptional stay at Northern Lights Resort & Spa. The staff were fabulous and the owners, Tobi and Lynn, went above and beyond to make each guest feel truly welcome and valued. They would unselfishly take time out of their busy days to engage. They made us feel like family. The food was outstanding — every meal felt special and was thoughtfully prepared. They were more than willing to adjust based on personal preferences. James and his team of great servers made every mouthful an experience. The extracurricular activities were well organized and added so much to the overall experience. We stayed in a Glass Chalet, which was cozy without feeling small — beautifully designed, very comfortable, and perfectly equipped. The property itself is expansive, peaceful, and thoughtfully set up for guest use. A special shout-out to all the staff who work tirelessly, both directly with guests and behind the scenes to make every stay seamless, comfortable, and memorable. Finally, we were very fortunate to get an amazing display of Northern Lights. The nightly campfire and the glass chalet made perfect viewing venues. Even if we hadn’t seen the lights, the vacation still would have been perfect! This resort is five stars plus on every level. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a magical, memorable northern getaway.

Words cannot describe how incredible this experience was. We could not rate this place more highly. It is in the little details here which makes this place stand out. There is so much care, thought and consideration that goes into every aspect and experience throughout your stay. We couldn’t have been more thankful to have picked this resort to see the stunning northern lights. We are so grateful for Tobi, Lynn, Patrick, James, Mike, Marshall and the rest of the team at the resort for everything you did to make our stay so memorable. If you want to see the northern lights or want to tick off bucket list experiences like snowmobiling or Dog Sledding, this is the place for it!

Exceptional Stay at Northern Lights Resort Just wrapped up 4 incredible nights at Northern Lights Resort and couldn't be more impressed. From the moment we arrived, the staff demonstrated their warmth and attentiveness which really made the difference. The rooms were comfortable and perfectly situated for the stunning views. But the real magic happened at night when the aurora came out. The location is ideal for viewing the Northern Lights, and the resort makes it easy to experience this natural wonder. We also took advantage of the massage services, which were absolutely fantastic - exactly what we needed after our travels. Combined with the breathtaking scenery, it made for a truly relaxing getaway. If you're planning a trip to Whitehorse and want to see the aurora borealis while being looked after by an outstanding team, Northern Lights Resort is the place. Highly recommend!

Just wow. We did 5 nights, 2 in town and 3 at the chalets. Our 3 couple group loved the tours, wildlife, hot springs, dog sledding, Whitehorse info centre and glass blowing when it was too cold for snowmobiles. Our chalet was cosy, so immaculate and the property is well kept, safe and convenient. The food was amazing and James the chef made sure my no wheat/no pork sensitivity was well looked after, I was pampered! The northern lights showed up for us and the group of 15 was fun and diverse. Such a pleasure to enjoy this adventure with those fine folks. We were even impressed with our Air North flights. Thank you Mike, Patrick, Kristin and James…and the two Juans.

This needs to be your next dream vacation…We had the absolute best time of our lives. Seeing the northern lights was on our bucket list and we’re so glad we went with Northern Lights Resort & Spa. From the attention to detail, the spectacular food, to the intimate atmosphere and the care of the entire staff. It was truly a trip to remember. We had amazing guides for each tour and everyone was so informed of the history and wildlife of the Yukon. We were able to have a great mix of relaxation and exploring and the best part is they give you the option to do whatever you please! We were greeted upon arrival with warmth and kindness and were bid a farewell with our cups, hearts, (and bellies) filled with memories we’ll take with us forever! Thank you to the team for a wonderful anniversary trip, we wouldn’t have wanted to spend it anywhere else!

Yelp
While we chose Northern Lights Resort to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights, the fact that heavy cloud cover prevented a good view did not detract from the wonderful hospitality Toby and his staff delivered. We travelled to Whitehorse with good friends, and the cozy accommodations, delicious food and impeccable service made for a wonderful stay. Every one working there went above and beyond to make us feel special, constantly asking if there was anything they could do to make our stay even better. Since the chance of seeing the aurora was totally out of any one's control, the fact that we so enjoyed our stay is a testament to how the Northern Lights Resort has mastered the art of hospitality. We are pescatarian and every meal provided an added option to suit our dietary restrictions. The dog sledding, fireside evening gathering, various tours and the sauna options were wonderful as well. The price is steep, but their success at providing a great experience in subzero temperatures won us over.

Yelp
Excellent experience here. The owners, Toby and Lynn were fantastic. Some activities were sadly cancelled due to weather but they were always actively communicating with guests making sure we know. When I booked this adventure, I didn't know what to expect but the resort took care of everything from organizing winter clothing for you that fits you, picking you up at the airport, scheduling adventures, etc etc. if you would like to go into town then just let the owners know and they make sure your cared for. Toby also helped me figure out my camera to take pictures of the northern lights which was amazing. The food was one more thing I didn't know what to expect but the quality of the food and presentation was beyond expectations and they take into account food sensitivities. The food not only tasted amazing but the presentation was top notch. I can't think of anything to complain about this resort.

Yelp
Luxury B&B | Best Hosts | Amazing Aurora Light Display $$$ A couple years ago, Garrett and I decided to cross an item off our bucket list: the Northern Lights. If you're looking to see the lights, do it right with staying here. Hands down, this is the place to stay at. B&B hosts, Wolfgang and Renate, are the most welcoming and accommodating hosts we've ever met. They love chatting with you, hearing and sharing stories, provided so many tips of the area to check out and do, and provided amazing daily European breakfasts and other amenities. +3 cozy cabins and 1 room upstairs in their house +hot tub outside +quiet and beautiful scenery in the woods +chance to see wildlife! +Spa We stayed at the Enzian cabin and loved it. There was a small kitchen in this unit, which was nice to have as an option if we wanted to stay in and cook. The entire place is clean, organized, cleaned daily, and in excellent condition. Location: not far away from downtown Whitehorse. The highway is super wide and paved, and we didn't have a hard time getting or finding this place. We highly recommend this place and plan to return again soon.

Yelp
This was the most amazing stay I could've imagined, and not too expensive either. It's a bit outta town, but that came to be a blessing. And when you pull up, they actually come outside to greet you which was a nice surprise. The "room" itself has the most amazing view, and it's got high ceilings, but a quaint size. The property is well sized for a simple walk around. And oh my goodness the food!!! They recently started offering an evening meal, and I was hesitant because I wanted to try some of the well renowned local spots, but decided to give it a try, and thank goodness for that. That meal was the most amazing food I've probably ever eaten. And I had someone to talk to the whole time, which was nice. They truly care about your satisfaction and want to do all they can to make your stay the best it can be. They even remembered my name the whole time.

Yelp
Wolfgang, Renate, Stephan, Julia Christmas 2019 in Whitehorse Yukon Canada...this ain't Texas for sure. Wonderful, Beautiful, Relaxing... one of the most professional and courteous and friendly staff that we have ever stayed with. The Resort and Spa was immaculate. Wolfgang and Renate was always accessible, on top of our itinerary and needs throughout our week stay. My wife was celebrating a milestone birthday, Wolfgang and Renate made us feel like family when then presented cake with candles and a special gift, what a great way to help us celebrate that day. The Chalets were Homey and very comfortable. Getting cold was not a problem at all when temperatures hit -21F, the propane fireplace was Great and many times needed to be turned down while getting all the winter gear on. Stephan was a pro at ice fishing on Hidden Lakes. Then the hot chocolate and storytelling in the Teepee while looking for the Northern Lights were joyful evenings with everyone that came out and braved the cold. Julia was a Gem. Between our tour of the Wildlife Preserve and the Takhini Hot Springs, Julia was more like family instead of a tour guide. Then came the picture taking during the Northern Lights and star gazing. The 'Torch' writing during the 25 second shutter timer setting on the camera to capture her sky writing skills was an added gift and something to not miss at midnight. Pictures of this can be found on their Flickr.com page. And what can I say about Chef Brendan...the meals, the presentation was so very well done, this truly added to our stay. I would like to say Thank you to Wolfgang for having such a Great extended team with the people he teams up with to provide Great adventures. This was truly a complete package a once in a lifetime Christmas vacation in the Yukon. Hans and Susie were the Dog sledding Adventure they were so nice, So much fun with them and the dogs. I would do this over and over again. Between the beautiful scenery, the sound of the dogs and no city noises, no cars, this was definitely a Bucket List thing to do. Spending time in the wonderful warm furnished wood burning stove tent sipping hot cider and snacking on chocolate liquor beans overlooking the Yukon river was a treat in itself. Another fine example of going the extra mile for guest, Hans is the only tour that does Dog sledding at night. The two plus hours at 9:30pm into the woods and on the trails (with no lights), is truly an adventure. Then the snowmobiling with Up North Adventures was a complete trill for Laura's birthday. The views from atop the mountain looking down on Whitehorse on one side and Fish lake on the other. What a speed demon she became running across Fish Lake after coming down the trails from the mountains. Wolfgang has a top notch rapport with the other tours that are a option while staying with him and Renate, they were definitely an extension of the professionalism expected by Northern Lights and Spa. In conclusion, I truly recommend Wolfgang and Renate and their whole wonderful staff at Northern Lights and Spa in Whitehorse, Yukon Canada. Thank you so very much, Robert and Laura

Yelp
A two-night stay this summer was perfect for a quick, romantic getaway. The cozy cabin, bubbling jacuzzi, full european breakfast, attentive and friendly staff, and stunning scenery (including wildlife) left nothing to be desired. Without a doubt, one of the best places to stay near Whitehorse!
