Northside Kitchen

We've eaten here 4 or 5 times before. The food is always good. On our most recent visit it was the same. My husband and I started by sharing a winter salad. It was good. Lots of arugula, spinach, crumbled feta, pomegranate seeds, candied walnuts and apples. For the entree, I had cod, which was a special. The fish was cooked perfectly and was delicious. It was in an Asian sauce, with pea pods, carrots, cherry tomatoes with rice or possibly farro. My husband had chicken and dumplings. It was a non traditional preparation with a lot of sage. The sauce wasn't creamy, it was more of a chicken gravy. The dumplings were doughy, but cooked through. He liked it and ate every bite.

Stopped by Northside Kitchen in the morning. The Americano was smooth and well made. Tried a cronut and a classic glazed donut — the cronut was rich and buttery with the glaze on the outside, and the slight saltiness of interior worked nicely with the sweetness. The glazed donut was simple and well executed, soft light on the inside without being heavy. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, and everything moved quickly while still feeling welcoming. You can tell there’s care and consistency here. A great spot with genuinely top-notch service. Well run and well trained.

The eggs Benedict was good but what throw off the whole experience was our waiter and the entire customer service. She was very unprofessional and didn’t seem like she wanted to serve us. She had an indirect attitude towards the service. We asked to split the bill. Into 50/50 since we had 2 credit cards. She was not around and always missing when we need her, we told a different server - she said she’ll tell our server about the split and she’ll be right back. She came back without asking us anything and already SPLIT the bill in the most incorrect way. She took 80% from my friend’s card and 10% from mine. For what? We didn’t agree to this and she also didn’t come back to inform us. We asked her why she said we cannot do 50/50. Ok? Why not tell us before taking the cards??? We ended up wanting to speak to a manager and then another lady whom she claims to be the supervisor, thought she could help us but it was too late and we didn’t want to reverse the charges cause at this point we wanted it fixed the first time. The supervisor was not helpful at all. The experience was horrible and the staff had the most nastiest attitude.

This place was amazing. Give a shout out to our waiter gallo he was on top of it. I would definitely recommend getting the fillet I am one of those people that like mine more cooked than anybody else and it was cooked perfectly, probably one of only three places to cook my steak perfectly and I have been to a lot of places even over steak 48 in. All of the staff were very friendly and eager to help. We had the tiramisu and it was extremely good.

The Donuts are so freaking good. We didn’t stop for them but we did leave with them. Overall, the restaurant was good. We arrived at 3pm and wanted to sit outside. There were other tables with people out on the deck but they said they couldn’t seat us there and it was closed. We were sat in a booth by the kitchen. It was loud and lots of workers coming and going. It was fine for the most part. I wished they had appetizers but my husband ordered the Gringo Burrito - Grande and I ordered the cheeseburger with fries. The fries were good and my burger was cooked really well. My husbands burger was mostly egg but he really liked it. We left with Donuts and that was the cherry on top. They are really fluffy!!

My two kids (10 & 9) and I had a wonderful meal with perfect food and service after a great day of skiing. Mathew was so great at making my kids feel apart of the experience. Matthew even drew a figure on my son’s menu that he got to finish into a dinosaur that made him smile big! If they have the black cod I highly recommend it, the pretzel 🥨 appetizer was a huge hit, and the skillet cookie and Sunday was the perfect end to a delicious and delightful dinner.

I ordered the salmon dinner and substituted gnocchi with sweet potatoes. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the vegetables complimented the dish. I had the chocolate cake for dessert - a dense fine chocolate - Yum! Galo, our server was very friendly and did a fantastic job. I vacation in Avon often and highly recommend the Northside Kitchen for dinner during your travels here, or if you are just passing through.

We had an outstanding experience from start to finish. Matthew was a phenomenal server — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. He elevated the entire evening with his recommendations and attention to detail. Every dish that came out of the kitchen exceeded expectations — beautifully presented, perfectly prepared, and full of flavor. It’s clear there’s real pride behind both the service and the food. We’ll absolutely be back.

Had dinner at Northside Kitchen last night. Have been there many times over the last 6 years for their fabulous breakfast and donuts before getting out on the slopes. This was the first time in for dinner. It was outstanding. The food was great. The service was top notch. Northside Kitchen is highly recommended for breakfast or dinner!

Northside kitchen is a wonderful restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner near BeaverCreek in Avon, Colorado. They have comfortable spacious seating in the restaurant. The quality of their food and the presentation is top notch. "The Best thing I make for dinner is reservations at Northside Kitchen!" They always have one or two different dinner specials in addition to their regular menu. On my recent ski trip to the valley, I decided to try most of the items on their dinner menu. One of my favorites is the 11oz filet, served Colorado style with two strips of bacon, shrimp and lobster covered in bernaise sauce. It's decadent! They have a wonderful braised lamb shank that melts in your mouth, and the their salmon is coated in everything bagel seasoning and is then cooked to perfection. They make some beautiful appetizers and my favorite are the filet egg rolls and deviled eggs. The restaurant makes cronuts and donuts seven days a week and Northside makes a rich flavorful bread pudding for dessert served a la mode with a scoop of ice cream. In addition, the chocolate cake is moist and dense with beautiful fresh fruits served on top. Most importantly, the owners, general manager and their staff are kind, friendly and wonderful to the dining patrons. This is based on my personal experience and watching how they treat other patrons in the restaurant. Thank you to Jim, Rodney, Matthew, Sasha, Maludi, Alex and Rav for making our month of dining at Northside Kitchen so special five nights a week in the month of January. I do recommend making a reservation for dinner in advance and this one restaurant you do not want to miss having a lovely delicious meal at while in Avon, Colorado.

This was my favorite places but I've noticed a decline over the last couple of seasons. Ended up spending $70 with the tip... and the incredibly annoying " kitchen living wage" How is $42 not enough for you to pay a fair wage in return for a small to moderate portion of the lobster risotto??? I would only give the dish a 3 of 5 on the taste scale and a 2 of 5 on the value. HOWEVER, add the filet- it was delicious and an absolute steal for a small add on price. I think $10 -$15. My favorite dish is no longer on the menu-- elk bolognese. The replacement, the elk sausage with papadelle is not as tasty and never has enough sauce or meat in the sauce. I always add the burratta ball, which was cold in the middle last time. It's better warm and melty. 3 of 5 taste, 2 of 5 value . I still recommend this place to all of my guests that I shuttle. The servers, Marilyn and Sasha, are fantastic!¡ as is the staff every season. Donuts are delicious too, when they have them. Didn't see them once this season. I know times are tough, but know your strengths and what separates you from being good instead of mid.

Great breakfast, fast service and grabbed some cronuts to go. Wow. You need to get there early because they sell out.

Don't be surprised by the humble outside appearance or by the ordinary menus on Yelp reviews. This really is fine dining. The salad and French onion soup were very good and the prime rib was incredible. Mario was so gracious and friendly and the manager even checked to make sure everything was good. The house Pinot Grigio was a pleasant surprise, too. A little more expensive than we expected based on menus we had seen, but worth the splurge.

We spent the weekend in Avon before I started a new job. Before we headed home on our last day, we stopped for a hearty breakfast. And boy was it hearty! My partner and I both ordered the smothered burrito, because that's a go-to for us to compare to other restaurants. This ranks up there. The portion was very generous. So much so, even I took home the leftovers for a second meal. That rarely happens with me! The green chili was the topping which sealed the deal for me. The flavor profile was strong, but not overpowering. It really complimented the burrito. And don't get me started on the pastries they have at the counter!

We went here the day after Christmas 2024. I think it has either gone downhill or it was an off day. Apparently Northside Kitchen is rebranding to Northside Prime. The interior has been updated and now has dark wood slats and a lot of wine for sale. Our service was good. All of our food came out together (party of 8) and we had water and drinks. The food is where I feel they missed the mark. I ordered the lamb chops and they were probably the worst I've had to the highest price I've paid. They were not even close to warm, and the farro or whatever grain they were on was much warmer. They were cooked right, but seem to have cooled down to room temperature. Nother person in our party mentioned pretty much the same. At $67 per plate for lamb chops, I think that's unacceptable. I also tried the trout and it tasted farmed, which it might be. The salmon was good and it sounds like the halibut special was the winner. The deviled eggs md French onion soup were good too. I'll still come back here as the food in the past has been great. It was jammed the other day, so maybe they need to just get their feet under themselves again.

We try to get a visit whenever we are in town. Enjoy the variety of selections and an extensive and very nice wine selection.

Absolutely the best happy hour in town and dinner is well worth it. The staff is exceptional. breakfast and lunch are great too!!

Checked this place out a couple days ago.. we REALLY wanted to love this place..the food I had was delicious. (I had the filet minion Colorado style -pictured) my husband had the ribeye which was skimpy. The prices are super expensive for not a 'fancy' restaurant. The server was unfortunately snarky and not very nice. It was loud and lively in there but children made a gross mess next to us and no one cleaned it up the whole time we sat there. What did it for me is the women's bathroom - I can't even explain how disgusting it was- overflowing toilet and used tp all over the ground - I couldn't finish my meal bc of it. Super gross..my husband wrote a note on the bill regarding it so mgmt was aware .. don't think we will be back

We came here for dinner. We were greated by the hostess and she started making weird small talk saying how they have an Asian woman on staff and that she's a real hard worker, my gf is Asian btw, so it was awkward, anyway, skip to food part. I got the trout which was decent but not very flavorful, so I probably wouldn't get it again. The old fashioned was also not that great, it wasn't sweet but rather felt like a whiskey over ice.

Amazing service & food!! Seating at the bar is quick & easy. They have an amazing selection of wines too. Love the happy hour food selection!!

This is a unique place to know about. In the morning they are busy serving up breakfast and local baked donuts. The crown jewel of the restaurant is the evening transformation into an upscale dining experience. The menu is a departure from the breakfast and lunch to finer dining on steaks, seafood and other well thought of dishes. My favorite dish is the 11oz Filet. They claim it is the best steak you will ever have. Not sure it filled that promise but it may have been the best Filet I have had at a restaurant. We will return next July on our summer vacation again

The tuna sundae was amazing! I was a little bit skeptical ordering it as an appetizer as it had "soy ice cream" with tuna and plantains, but it was delicious! The lobster risotto was good as well, but the tuna sundae was by far my favorite. The prices are fairly high, but the portions are pretty generous. My boyfriend and I split both the appetizer and the main course and left feeling full. Will definitely be back

This is an old and LONG OVERDUE review! Who doesn't love a great local restaurant and solid happy hour? If you don't, you're not living life. We went to Northside Kitchen based on a recommendation from my sister and brother in law. Lindsey was at the bar, and that's where we knew we went to the right place. From the moment we sat down, we were greeted with great smiles, great service, and some great drinks (beer and wine). It looked like she knew her regulars well, including my sister and brother in law. We ordered our food, and everything came out quickly, and it was all very tasty and fairly portioned. From what I remember, we had shrimp grits, short rib tacos, mac & cheese, and burgers. It was all very tasty, especially the burger - I make a pretty great burger at home, so my expectations are quite high when it comes to a restaurant burger. As a bonus, we also had some donuts packed up which we enjoyed later that night and the next morning. Great touch! If we lived out there, this would definitely be a regular spot for us. Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to go back to try their dinner and full regular menu, but from what we saw, everything looked absolutely fantastic!

we dined on a Thursday evening. Ambiance is great, wine selection, incredible! I had the shrimp and lobster risotto and my husband d had the bolognese. it was fantastic and the service was top notch

Great Breakfast. The owner was very entertaining and engaging. We will likely return to sample a Lunch or Dinner before our vacation ends.

Super cozy spot. Got the Lamb Hash with over medium eggs. Definitely a different dish. The lamb was tender. I wasn't a huge fan of the pico de gallo that was mixed in, but still overall a good dish. Also tried the Avocado Toast which was pretty basic. Their coffee is out of this world good. So fresh. Make sure to get there early for their cronuts, but if you're late, the cinnamon rolls and or donuts will suffice.

As a local I try to get here at least once a week for the delicious filet and eggs!! High quality and so delicious!

Hidden Gem in Avon, CO! As a well traveled family and avid steakhouse enthusiast, this spot is now on our "top places to revisit" list! The staff & owners were so kind, took time to speak to each of our four children and the food was amazing!

We made our annual visit to the Northside Kitchen on our trip to Vail. This time we were there to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it did not disappoint. Mario provided us with not only excellent service, but great recommendations for food and drink. The Pappardelle Bolognese was fantastic! My daughter's steak was the best she had ever had. The owner came by to check on us, and we had a lovely visit. We will be back in our next trip to Vail!

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and wonderful food! This place is a must visit close to the Beaver Creek ski resort.

We are visiting from Oklahoma, where we live on a farm and are used to the best steaks! Delicious steaks, clean restaurant, outstanding service! I had the filet with peppercorn sauce and it was amazing! Will definitely come back!

Decent breakfast place to go to. Everything is delicious, just needed a little bit seasoning. Very busy place. I think they're short staffed too. Either way service was good. #honestreview

Great sandwiches, hefty price tag. We stopped in to get a to go order to bring back to our hotel for dinner. Nobody really there we were not greeted in any way. We grabbed a few menus and sat down to look over what we wanted. The wife and I chose our sandwiches (around $20 each). I walked up to the bar and said hello. She looked at us like we just magically appeared out of nowhere. She was pleasant and took our order. I ordered the French Dip, and the wife ordered a turkey sandwich. We walked across the parking lot to the 7=Eleven and returned in about 10 minutes. Perfect timing, food was ready, we paid and were on our way. The portion sizes were definitely huge and very high-quality ingredients. We easily turned into two meals. Will I be back? That's a big maybe. But you won't be disappointed with the food.

We came here with a bunch of friends. Would recommend getting a reservation as this place as it was pretty full when we arrived. The host was very polite and friendly. We were seated quickly. The place was dimmed at night giving off a nice relaxing vibe but it was very easy to see and walk around. Our server was very attentive throughout the night. We requested for bread and the bread was okay. The bread came out warm but I wished the bread had a harder exterior. We ordered the prime wagyu ribeye cap and saltimbocca deviled eggs. I liked the ribeye cap with the purred potato - however the potato was the best part of that dish. Deviled eggs were good - standard in flavor. Got the Jim's short rib gnocchi, and duck cassoulet. The short rib was well cooked and very flavorful with the creamy pesto sauce - would recommend getting this dish. The duck was well seasoned had such rich flavors. Definitely a good choice if you wanted a hearty warm soup like dish - it hit the spot after hitting the slopes. For dessert we got a donut bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. The bread pudding tasted like fruity pebbles. It wasn't my favorite. Overall the appetizer and entrees was the highlight of the night and the presentation of all the dishes was amazing. I would recommend visiting here for a nice dinner with family members or with friends.

Best food in this area. Better than any restaurant in beaver creek. Papardelle bolognese is better than most every Italian restaurant we have ever been to. Filet Mignon is superb. Jim and Mario know what they are doing here. Don't be deceived by location. This is by far better than any restaurant in BC.

I ordered the Smothered Breakfast Burrito. It can be ordered in two sizes, regular & Grande. I made the mistake of ordering the Grande. It was huge so I ended up with leftovers for another breakfast. It was delicious. The green chili sauce complimented the filling. The owner stopped to see how everything was going. He was very personable and had a good sense of humor. I won't hesitate to stop here the next time I'm passing through Avon!

Service was great, and so was the food and wine. I had a delicious fish special (halibut, I think) in a coconut curry that had me scraping up every last bite. Our meal was so delightful, we returned for breakfast! I had a fantastic, steak breakfast burrito. I don't eat dairy, but the rest of our crew enjoyed their meals and their doughnuts!

Always an amazing meal here and this time for breakfast. Parking is limited but lots of seating inside. Staff is super friendly and the best part of the morning is one of the biggest fresh donut selections I've ever seen. A must for any family with kids!!

I LOVE THE CRONUTS HERE! I try to make sure everyone who I know and love who comes to town gets to try one. They are a great texture, though I will warn that they are very sweet. They remind me of a better Krispy Kreme original glazed donut lol. It's a cute location and the staff is nice. Overall, I love getting a little treat at north side on my days off or when I need a little extra motivation for the day

My first time here and I loved it! We sat at the bar and service was great. I ordered the Chilaquiles and it was the best I've ever had!

Food was decent-large portions-good prices-3.5. Service was excellent. Old fashioned was amazing. View wasn't great of gas stations. Be aware of the kitchen living wage fee that is automatically added on.

A find! Killer breakfasts, the chorizo skillet and huevos rancheros were a 10! Start by splitting a bear claw. Service is amazing, everyone has a smile on!

We had a wonderful dinner here last night. After skiing all day, all we could think about was a fantastic meal and we definitely got one at Northside Kitchen. First of all, Rodney, the host?! He is so kind and what a smile. He just made the evening fantastic and I honestly wish he was our server. I don't recall our servers name because that was the only not so great part of the evening. Not sure if our server was going through something or just having a bad night but he was very short and abrupt in how he spoke with us and wouldn't make eye contact and it was such a contrast from Rodney that I had to call it out. Our meals were absolutely wonderful. We split the ceasar to start and it was one of the best salads we have had. And I had the filet and my husband had the NY strip special. Absolutely delicious. The drinks were good too. Highly recommend if you are in this area and make sure you get reservations!

Loved, loved, loved this place. The choices for dinner are fantastic. The food is delicious. It is definitely on the pricey side, but I don't mind paying for very good food. Best of all, we decided to go back for happy hour. Glad we did. The short ribs taco's are out of this world, for $5 each. The mac and cheese with short rib (for an extra couple of bucks) was enough for an entire dinner portion. And the French Dip was out of this world delicious. Steve, the owner, is a character. Glad we met him at his other restaurant, Fattoria, which was also solid...but not as solid as this place.

OMG. What a treasure. Unassuming building but amazing inside. Recommend reservations when busy season. The staff is great and the owner is actively present saying hi to guest. The ahi tuna appetizer was hands down one of the best I have had. We went back 2 days in a row. Had the seafood risotto one night and the salmon another. Out of this world. Friend had the prime rib and so yummy !! Will be going back every time I visit

Terrible! Honestly I'm expecting to be ill tonight after that meal. No flavor, hair all Over the bread basket, a burger that tasted horrendous. The reviews may have applied years ago but not now. Would never go back! I have to give it a one or they won't let me post this otherwise I would give it nothing

This restaurant's "vegan option," the Vegan "feast," is pathetic. There are 4 sectional 1/4" slices of sweet potato, some asparagus tips, some candied cranberries, and a sprinkling of candied walnuts. That is what's listed on the menu. These ingredients sit on a bed of arugula to make the dish look somewhat more substantial than it is. I estimate that the dish they brought me had not more than 300 calories of food. Probably more telling is that both the menu and the server want to upgrade the vegan "feast" with animal products, which is basically the only way to have this great "feast" without leaving hungry. The server, Mario, after I told him I was vegan, offered to put some meat on it. After I declined telling him I was vegan, he offered chicken. When I said no, no animal products at all, he offered fish. My friend, who was not vegan, was very satisfied with the meat dish ordered. Essentially, the Vegan Feast is a bait and switch attempt to get vegan to consent to eating here.

Food & service exceeded expectations here. Dan I think was servers name, very kind and engaging, Food was fantastic, the lamb shank was perfectly cooked & flavors were on point. Short rib dishes also highly recommended. Had the carrot cake for dessert - could tell it was homemade In the best way. Not too sweet, icing was great. The donuts in the morning are fantastic as well. Great spot overall.

Really great breakfast spot in Avon. Pretty reasonable prices for the giant portions. We had the filet burrito but split it because it was giant from what we saw coming out. It was perfectly filling before a great day of skiing. They also sell donuts to go. I got the Cronut which was literally a glazed fried croissant which is different from a typical cronut I've seen. Yummy though. Service was quite slow though which was a con. Cleanliness was decent but the bathroom needs updating. Conveniently located on the other side of the highway from the resort and by the gas stations. Would recommend for a great breakfast but they serve all meals I believe.

Food and service were fantastic, so much so that we went back the next morning for fresh donuts. Only thing is that property is surrounded by gas stations, so window views aren't great.

This place was poppin! It was super crowded with a long line but we skipped it by sitting at the bar. I got the Lilly skillet and a couple donuts. The skillet looked better than it tasted. It was a little bland but the donuts were amazing! Super happy I ordered a couple. Cool spot though, and really nice servers!

Yep this is the spot!!! Awesome and fast service. Great menu with tons of options. Fresh and real food!! We stopped here for breakfast and tried a few things! Biscuits and gravy was the highlight for sure. Everything we had wash delicious though! Their pancakes are the perfect size and sweetness! Getting a cronut is a MUST here also! We just drove through town and didn't stay for dinner but their dinner looks incredible too!

The service at this restaurant is UNMATCHED. I had the French onion soup and Alfredo linguine with the shirt rib . Matt was our server and he was amazing! We also took a bottle of Quilt "baby caymus" to-go! 20/10 would recommend to anyone interested in good dinner and good wine. Will be taking a visit tomorrow morning for their Famous Cronuts and FILET MIGNON breakfast burrito

Steak was flat aka no seasoning. Salmon had a sauce but prefer it just to be grilled. The mashed potatoes were soso. Not sure what they put in them but they were over creamy and too wet. We needed gluten free optons- here they had only gf toast in lieu of the rolls. The inside is nice. It's just odd pulling into a gas station....

we have tried this place 3 times.. I hope I can help .. I cannot tell you how bad our food was... we so wanted it to be good because it is so close to our place. that is why we tried 3 times hoping our first experience was just a off night. tonight I had prime rib - no taste ! could hardly cut it ! mash potatoes were more like a gravy ... it was so bad!!! they need a new chef! we will never go back

We were in Avon, Colorado for 18 days in May 2025. Candace our concierge at the Westin Riverplace Mountainside Villas, recommended Northside Coffee and Kitchen to celebrate my husband's 73rd birthday. This restaurant is now our favorite spot to eat. Looks pretty ordinary on the outside but step inside to white linen tablecloths- each table topped with a lovely red rose. Our waiter, Mario, expertly finessed each course with care and attention to minute details. We had the juiciest, most-tender, well-prepared 10 0z prime beef with all the trimmings including dessert, all at a 20% discount. Incredible value! Indeed, we discovered the shoulder season means an extra bonus- discounts! We left the restaurant feeling like it was BOTH our birthdays! Thank you to the wonderful team at Northside Kitchen!
