Northway Motor Inn

The Northway is, at its bones, your basic motel, but upon arriving and checking in, it was a much more enjoyable experience than expected. First, the person checking us in was delightful and helpful. Second, the room bigger, and a nice large kitchen area (albeit, the space could be better utilized) with a much nicer table than other motels we used). Third, it has an outdoor grill and picnic area. We walked across the street (to the only store in town), got fresh meat and barbecued dinner. I would strongly suggest using their website or calling them to make reservations as it gives them more flexibility in dealing with cancellations and such.

We'll, I was not expecting such a nice motel in Dease Lake! Last time I was here was 1980 and there was only a pub. The rooms are modern and spotless clean. There is a nice kitchen area where you can throw yourself a snack together. They always have the free coffee pot on. All of the staff are super friendly. The front desk lady is a great guide and host. At least one of the maids is a talented singer, so I left my door open as I worked and enjoyed her singing. It's only a short 5 minute walk to 3 different places to get a meal. I ate at all 3. They all have big portions and tasted wonderful. Try the Bison burger at the Snack Shack! Thank you, Dease Lake, for a friendly and warm reception. I won't wait 45 years to come back this time.

Great spot on highway 37 to break up the long journey. We stayed on July 21 on our way home from Whitehorse. The staff was friendly and the rooms were very clean. There was good food within walking distance but I understand they also offer frozen meals for their patrons. They have laundry facilities, pet friendly rooms and are very inclusive, accommodating truck drivers, tourists and those riding motorcycles. (Even offering towels for your bike and dogs). I would stay here again. It was a short walk to many walking trails and little lakes. It was also the most cost effective room we stayed in our entire trip.

Was not expecting fully renovated large rooms with kitchenette in such a remote location, very pleasantly surprised. Clean, comfortable, quiet with a gas station and restaurant across the street, they also provide rags to wipe down your motorcycle. Friendly staff, great place to stay, highly recommend.

Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom was so clean it looked like it was installed new yesterday, maybe it was. They provide clean rags for motorcycles which turned out to be very handy. The lady at the front desk was the nicest person you could ever hope to meet.

Our college cycling team stayed at the Northway Motor Inn when we were particularly disheveled in the middle of our cross-country ride, and our stay truly revived us. The staff, especially Julie, was so generous, kind, and accommodating. The communal spaces were lovely for eating our meals together, and Julie was even kind enough to let us use their staff kitchen and laundry to cook our large meals and clean our very smelly jerseys. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, and we all swore that we’d never slept a better night in our lives. I would highly recommend that any travelers coming by bike, motorcycle, or RV stay here when they stop in Dease Lake!

Very clean, modern, fresh. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice hotel in such a remote area. We had a great night’s sleep passing through on a road trip from Alaska. Even though it was late on a Sunday, they helped us order food delivery. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This little hotel is great, it is very clean and taken care of. The employees are fantastic. Even though no dinner on premise or in this little town, the front desk told me about the food options, and even called the place so I could order dinner. It was great food and quick service. There is a market across the street and the do have a grill and a firepit you can use.|I recommend have cash either American or Canadian as some place don't use a card reader.
