Gates of the Arctic Is the Most Peaceful U.S. National Park — How to Visit
"Mentioned as a place to visit in the gateway town of Kotzebue, the center is presented as an introduction to local culture: the author spent a day "learning about traditional Iñupiaq culture at the Northwest Arctic Heritage Center," using the visit to orient to regional history and traditions before flying into the Brooks Range." - Emily Hart
Audry and Phinian made this unexpected travel delay very enjoyable. So kind, accommodating and informative about park information and local history.
Highly recommend stopping here if you are passing through.
Thank you for making a tough travel day very enjoyable.

What a beautiful gem in the middle of Kotzebue. The staff are Wonderfull and helpful. I loved to stand in the room and listen to all of the sounds they have going on. If you close your eyes it'd be like your right there. Thanks for the great visit!

Very well done and informative center, not at all surprising given most of these facilities are. Helpful personnel, and arguably the best (only?) tourism-type destination in the town.

This is a surprisingly large and we'll staffed center devoted to the people and lands of Northwestern Alaska. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and will go out of their way to get you up to speed on the opportunities that are waiting for you outside their doors. It includes an excellent museum and multiple programs are offered to locals and visitors alike.
