The guided tour was very informative and engaging. Maggie was an amazing guide — knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate. We learned so many fascinating details about fishermen’s life in Lofoten, which really enhanced our overall visit. The 40-minute tour was the perfect length and added great depth to the experience

The staff was really friendly; I came just before the closing time but was advised politely and guided in the right direction. Display is very realistic. They also recognise international ICOM cards

We did not take part in the tour, timing did not work for us, but even so, the museum was worth it, we really enjoyed the buildings and exhibitions!

Visiting the Fisherman’s Village Open Museum was a highlight of our trip! The tour was incredibly engaging and informative — our guide was absolutely fantastic. So knowledgeable, passionate, and full of fascinating stories that brought the history of the place to life. Everything in the museum felt truly authentic, from the traditional fishing gear to the historical buildings. We even got to step inside a genuine fisherman’s cabin and imagine what life was like in the old days. One of the most memorable parts was learning the entire process of making cod liver oil — and even tasting it ourselves (an experience we won’t forget!). This place offers a unique, hands-on insight into Norway’s coastal heritage and the lives of the people who built it. Highly recommended for anyone interested in culture, history, or just looking for something a bit different and meaningful to do while in Lofoten!

It's the end of Lofoten, a truly beautiful place, with some of the most amazing hikes arround, in Å you have a very old smithy still in function, with the most beautiful pieces, and a 150 year old bakery, also still working that delivers baked goods every day, and truly delicious I really recommend it!

We visited the Museum in a rainy day 🌧️ 🎟️ The price is 100NOK per adult. The Musium is an open air complex composed by different buildings (the Old shop, the Fisherman’s house, etc.) 🏠 In November the Post office was closed and it was possible to visit the Bakery, but none was in there. The visit took us half an hour MAX 🕑

The museum is nice but a little crowded with tourists. You have to pay for tickets to the museum, which cost 235 kr per person. The museum exhibits are interesting and include a fish oil museum, a fisherman's house, and a boat. You can stop for a visit if you are interested in fishing history.❤️❤️

Visiting Å was the highlight of our Lofoten trip. Every staff member was incredibly friendly. The guided tour was a must-do; the guide provided a detailed explanation of how the fishing village operated and the fishermen's way of life. It was like stepping back in time! And don't forget to visit the blacksmith's workshop – you might find a unique steel/iron souvenir.
