Fantastic value! I was very impressed with my stay on a Thursday night. Staff were friendly and had a great knowledge of the surrounding area. Room was very clean (had a private room with en-suite) including sheets and towels). Car park on site (pay a small fee to use). And a bar too. Lots of little extra facilities (washing machine, vending machine with shampoo, etc.). Overall very, very good, especially for the price.

I've never slept here, because I live around the corner. But I'm glad to have this as my local. It's a nice, relaxed, friendly place with a pool table, a sunny patio, and local artists on the wall. They even have their own beer! Food is reasonably priced and fine (though I wouldn't go here specifically to eat). They have a variety of events in the bar and downstairs in the larger concert space. You'll often find guests having a jam session in the bar. That's either good or bad depending on the night. For residents, there's a gym. It's just across the bridge from Cardiff city centre. You can walk along the river to the park one end and Cardiff bay the other. On Sundays there's a farmer's market a few steps away. I'd thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay.

Cheap rooms, very nice staff and bar, but don't expect much more than what you can get for the price. The bathrooms are not exactly clean, and the kitchen lacks many equipments. For me it's worth it if the beds are less than 35 pounds, but not if they are more, like when the city gets crowded because of a game.

Loved this small and friendly hostel, The staff were lovely and organised with my partner a special birthday surprise in the room. The room was lovely and clean with a separate shower from the toilet facilities which I think is a great idea. They give you had access to the hotel 24/7 so you can go on a night out and not worry about getting in. There was a continental breakfast put on every morning with fresh fruit. The location is great right nest to the arena and a short walk away from the city centre and docks

Me and 2 of my friends stayed a night in a 4 bunk room with en-suite and included breakfast for only £15.90 each! The room was really pleasant with nice views of the Millennium Stadium. The staff where very helpful and friendly. The Hotel also has a really nice public bar and pool table.

It was my first visit this weekend I will definitely be staying again if I need to stay in Cardiff. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It was lovely to sit on the terrace in the sunshine to have breakfast

Currently here for our 2nd night and having the best time! Rooms are clean, beds are kind of uncomfy but can deal with it and staff are helpful and friendly. Free breakfast in the morning is a bonus and the location is amazing! Lovely little terrace overlooking the river which catches the sun as well. Highly recommend :)

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Tafarn Taf. Its part of the NosDa hostel and sit overlooking the River Taf and the Millennium stadium. Naturally then it gets very busy when there is a match on and you can absorb the atmosphere and miss out on the mayhem at the same time. The garden especially is lovely but the atmosphere in general is very realxed. Its a good place to go and take a book or take your laptop along to use the free wi-fi while tucking into some great inexpensive food all made with local produce. The bar staff are a good laugh too.

Yelp
With a river view, outdoor heated patio and a steady stream of mixed-nationality cliental, Tafarn Taf is a great place to go out of an evening, or day for that matter. At Tafarn Taf you can both have your cake and eat it: by avoiding the Saturday night madness of the city centre, yet get soaked in some first class atmosphere. This place is cool but casual and serves Amsel beer. You can play pool, catch up on your emails (free wi-fi), have a snack (try the natchos), read a free mag in the plush couchy area or sit outside and fag-it with your smokey mates. Last time I was there I was serenaded by bagpipe playing be-kilted scottish rugby fans, who rather romantically later disappeared off into the foggy night still wailing. Tafarn Taf is part of a youth hostel, this fact and its riverside location are probably what make this place so laid back and such a great place to sup a pint or two or three. Tip: There's a minimum spend of £10 on cards.

Yelp
The Tafarn - a 'Welsh cantina & bar - is a great public bar located on the banks of the River Taff, well known for its great food and as a popular pre- and post-match drinking haven when events are happening at the nearby Millennium Centre. They have local beers on draft and many of the dishes on their menu include Welsh products and ingredients, such as the Welsh goats cheese and walnut salad (yum!) and the Carmarthenshire ice cream (num num!). As they offer free wi-fi access, you can also take your laptop along and work there, whether it's inside on the sofas or out on the heated terrace overlooking the River Taff. Great place for a drink or a light meal.
