Do not go to the Bradland location where Dr. Poonawala practices. They have implemented policies that clearly prioritize money over patient health. I have worked in medical facilities for over 25 years, and I have never encountered policies like these before. Even if a patient is discharged from the ER and needs a follow-up, they will not make any effort to accommodate or “squeeze in” an appointment.
If you explain that the ER has already provided part of your treatment and you only need the remaining medication, they will still insist that you schedule a separate appointment for refills. Even when you arrive in person a day before for a sick visit and plead with the nurse practitioner for your prescription, they will tell you to make another appointment. It seems that profit has become the only priority—money over people, policies over compassion.
I am in the process of reaching out to the Health Department to report this matter. These policies should be reviewed to determine whether they align with medical regulations or if they have been created arbitrarily.
Throughout my entire career working in doctors’ offices, I have never witnessed such disregard for patient care and ethical medical practice.
