Nossob Rest Camp @ Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

Great camping! Helpful staff, clean. Ample accomodation and real Kalahari experience. Be sure to take good camera, binoculars, possibly telescope for stargazing. Prepare beforehand, preferably by talking to someone that did this excursion before to help with list of critical goods to take along on your stay. Memorable experience indeed

A very remote but incredible place to camp or stay in a chalet. The road is corrugated between scrapes and a 4x4 vehicle is advisable but not essential. The camping area has a new awesome ablution block. We found the second last spot and had a shade of stick build. The braai. tap and electricity worked perfectly at the stand.

Stunning campsite, friendly staff, superb bathroom and wash up facilities.

We stayed for 2 nights in riverside chalet #20 and had a mixed experience. The rest camp facilities were good and staff friendly. I enjoyed the swimming pool here, but it was busy (which was to be expected given the heat and the lack of shade in some areas of the campsite). The receptionist was lovely and found the staff here in general to be the friendliest of all the rest camps. We also had a fantastic game drive experience here with a knowledgable guide, who pointed out some of the smaller things we would have missed (we loved seeing the barking geckos!) and we could tell she was really passionate about nature.||The downside was the riverside chalet - I don't know if it was just ours, but it was very hot. It was also the furthest away from the waterhole and we couldn't see it at all, which was a shame. There were also some maintenance issues, such as broken lights and water damage in the kitchen cupboards. The air con didn't work well and needed replacing and the bricks of the chalet really trapped the heat. We couldn't keep doors open for long as there were a lot of bugs that you really didn't want in your chalet (blister beetles, mosquitoes, wasps, and hornets). We also found bat droppings in the chalet, but they didn't bother us here (unlike at Twee Rivieren!) It was 40 degrees when we stayed and we struggled with the heat much more than in the other camps, including wilderness camps with no air con. On the flip side, it would be a great place to stay in the winter!!||We did however, really enjoy the terrace. There wasn't as much animal activity in the riverbed as at Mata Mata, but more bird life and we still enjoyed visits from yellow mongoose, ground squirrel, and jackal. The views over the riverbed were incredible. We also looked out the bedroom window at night and saw a spotted eagle owl perched on our terrace, and looking very much at home there.||We would come back as the waterholes and game drives around Nossop were great and hard to reach from other camps, but wouldn't pay more for a riverside chalet.

We came across from Botswana. We found the camp ground to be clean, well run, well maintained with excellent ablution facilities. The staff and campers were friendly, helpful and respectful. The surrounds provided multiple bird and animal sightings. In camp were multiple owls in beautiful shady trees. If you want to get away from civilization, Nossob is the place to go. We will be back for sure. We loved it.

Beautiful riverside chalets. We spent 2 nights in the air conditioned and comfortable unit. All the conveniences we available. The chalets are on a river. You will see general game and some jackal. Great drives around the area. However, make sure your car can handle the poor quality of roads. This is jungle! Internet is poor. But this is bush. Don’t count on working in the bush. Turn off the phone.

Camped here. The road in was an absolute nightmare! It was much better when we left. The management of this camp is superb! The ablutions are always clean. The little shop has most essentials available. All staff were friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work 👏

Wonderful camp. Chalets and camping options. Well stocked shop and facilities are clean. Staff always helpful and friendly. Power goes off daily between 10pm and 5am. Self catering
