Nothofagus Hotel, Reserva Biológica Huilo Huilo

What a wonderful experience - one we will never forget. |The moment you walk into this hotel takes your breath away. We were in awe of the architecture and decor . |Breakfast , food in the bar and restaurant were all magnificent. Wonderful comfortable bar areas to sit and sip a Pisco Sour after hiking nearby. |Really helpful, efficient and friendly staff . All staff including Concierge and guide had great English which this was really helpful when we needed assistance as we don’t speak Spanish. |Room was a little tired, particularly the bathroom which needed refurbishing but this did not affect our overall stay as everything else was so perfect. |We would definitely return here , thank you !

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The double room we were in was a good size, with a large bathroom. The staff are all helpful, and we especially liked getting to know the staff in the dining room. I recommend the tour of the grounds/hotel shortly after you arrive.

Honestly one of the best hotels and places in the world, as confirmed by a UNESCO recognition. The hotel architecture is astounding both externally in the incredible design but also the interior with only wood and tree trunks on display. The labyrinth of corridors keep you protected from the elements taking you to all parts of the hotel, spa, heated pools and games room, keeping children safely entertained for hours. The rooms have amazing views and depending on your group size are plenty large. Excellent service throughout the stay. The surrounding areas and walks are spectacular and even with constant rain and cold allow for disconnection for the fast pace of the real world and immersion into the forest and ribboning rivers. The activities were also well explained, varied and easy to book, and we enjoyed several. Having stayed during winter I plan to go back during another season to experience the changing forest.

Unique and a great destination in the south of Chile, during all year !|You will enjoy the fantastic views of Volcanos and beautiful lakes around the area , and all the eco touristic development of infrastructure done in this ecological reserve . There are 3 different hotels and are unique in this world. One is Montana mágica , then you have Nothofagus hotel and the third one is Reino Fungi . The hotel has been decorated with a great rustic style and built by local carpenters and women from the town of Neltume .|With our stays in Huilo|huilo , we are helping to raise money for the Fundación Huilo Huilo and many other communities around the area . |Absolutely there is one of the most beautiful hotels and areas in the District of Rios in the south of Chile

The enviroment its incredible, the location of the hotel it's unbeatable, and the infraestructure is precious. The service is great, and overall its a highly luxury experience, but its expensive as such. There are a ton of hiking trails included in the price of the room, and other aditional activities that are worth it, I personally recommend rafting in spring time.

The check in was not good there’s was miss understanding with the receptionist about the restaurant time and in the spa I had a really bad experience with the therapist she said we don’t do that part of the body while I was only referring to my lower back and belly… very disappointing. All the rest was great the place is really beautiful.

This hotel has seen better days. The facilities seem very worn down: stained carpets and furniture, mold in the showers, bath robes that have been worn for too long, etc.|Signage is very poor too. The parking space is just randomly parked cars between the trees behind the hotel. Accessing the hotel for there is through a bar and no sign pointing to the ‘reception’ is to be found. |The architecture is very quirky which creates plenty of small corners or uneven steps that are not well marked. Just as an example, the rooms are located on an ascending spiral (cute) and exiting the elevator on every floor there’s a small step that isnt straight (following the curve of the building). It is hard to see and I saw at least a couple of senior passengers tripping over it. |Some of the staff were not very accomodating (refused to prepare a milk+banana drink cause it wasn’t listed as a juice) and the food (except from breakfast) was very underwhelming. Young arriving we had a chicken sandwich (we were starving) at the bar and it was simply awful. |The open pool was closed, the heated one had flies floating every time we went in; the bar at the pool and the one in the 5th floor were permanently closed. The rooftop lookout is a hazard, the wooden deck has missing bits and lose pieces of wood. Also we saw nails sticking up. Again, not a safe place. |The natural surroundings do not disappoint: Plenty of hikes through dense forests, waterfalls, a deer farm, and so on. And just listening to the sounds of the forest is a soothing experience. |Bottom line, for rooms that are USD 300+, it is disappointing and I would not return.

The greatest! Attached to Montano de Magica and a bit nicer rooms. MAGIC! Grounds were amazing. The trails and portals were well marked and easily followed through the Bosque and by the rivers and falls. The staff was always helpful. A bucket list destination.
