Nour Lebanese Cuisine is such a gem! Total hole-in-the-wall in the best way. We found it by chance on a day drive from NJ to CT, and honestly the only downside is that it’s not closer to home. The hospitality was amazing — super warm and welcoming, and they gave us great food recommendations. As someone who’s obsessed with Mediterranean food, I can say this was some of the most authentic and flavorful I’ve had. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked, and seasoned just right. Simple, traditional, and absolutely delicious from start to finish — apps, mains, and even the sweets. The food came out really quickly too. The prices were very reasonable for the high quality and portions—definitely a good value. Plus, they have a cute little market inside where we picked up some great groceries. We’ll definitely be coming back for both the food and the market!

Everything about this Lebanese spot checks all the boxes. The owners are genuinely good people. The food has rich, bold flavors. We had food catered, and the entire party raved about the dishes. This is the apps, we added a few items, the lamb, chicken is absolutely amazing. 5+ sars across the board.

This is a family owned and operated establishment. They use farm fresh ingredients from their family owned farm. The staff is always warm and friendly. They always provide free samples while you wait or dine in to expand your palate for Lebanese dishes. The food is super authentic and delicious.

Finally stopped here after work to try this place. Very welcoming patron who served me a sample of their harissa flavored soup served in a beautiful ceramic bowl. The soup and our orders of shawarma and kofta kebab combo platters delicious. Will be back soon.

I’m writing this review as a caution to others with allergies. We’ve enjoyed this restaurant’s Lebanese food in the past, but had a serious issue during our latest visit. My husband ordered the slow cooked lamb special, which the menu said contained pistachios, almonds, walnuts, and cashews—no mention of peanuts. When the dish arrived, it was covered in peanuts. Thankfully, I noticed before he (who is severely allergic) took a bite. The owners didn’t seem very concerned, simply offering to replace the meal. Moments later, our server went to another table who ordered the same dish and asked if they had any allergies, which made it clear this could easily happen to others. If you have food allergies, be extra cautious here and ask very specific questions before ordering.

Google
I found this restaurant while looking for vegetarian options. The rating caught my attention, and so we gave it a try. No wonder it's so well rated. I will definitely be coming here again. The food is delicious, and the food amount was huge, i barely finished half of my plate. So i think the price is fair. I definitely recommend the vegetarian combo as you can try multiple food options. And the flavours...simply amazing! The service was great too, very kind.

Google
I’ve been to Nour with family and friends a few times, it’s a warm and inviting family-friendly restaurant. Service is great, the owner and staff always take the time to chat with you and they will recommend dishes that hit the spot. Very kind to my children and the vibe is casual. Service is fast, portions are generous, great value for the fresh flavors and they have a great gourmet shop at the front for farm fresh eggs, spiced breads, and regional sweets. Keep supporting local and try the lamb special- it’s in my pic, amazing flavor and succulent meat!

I always love coming in to dine or take out some of this truly phenomenal food. The owner is always super welcoming and takes his time getting to know you and offering samples, and I always appreciate being able to practice my very novice Arabic with him. Today he offered me a sample of a spicy zucchini dish which was beyond delicious. It’s awesome that he kindly offers samples because I love the shawarma so much I order it almost every time and it’s great to try something different. The food itself is authentic, delicious, flavorful, generously portioned and always hits the spot. There’s also a little grocery up front filled with yummy treats and Arabic ingredients. I’ve eaten Arabic food homemade, in New York, California, Arizona and in France and this place takes the cake. Chakrun again!

Yelp
Adorable little take out and small sit down spot (order at counter) with quick service and a lovely owner. Now to the best part: the incredibly delicious food. My hubs and I were running errands and decided to take some food back home. We ordered the lamb special and the kafta platter. While we waited, we perused the stores offerings- they sell a variety of middle eastern spices, drinks, and dry goods as well as some cheeses etc. We also were brought a sizeable sampler of 3 different bean salads. One of which was spicy. They were all delicious and honestly I would have been satisfied just eating a bowl of those salads. The lamp special was so tender and flavorful with a delicious yogurt sauce. The kofta was equally as flavorful and the hummus and salad were delicious. Overall every bite was savored and I could tell someone cooks with their heart and family recipes. The owner saw how much we loved the fava bean salad and decided to give us a free container- so generous! If you're looking for authentic flavors and to support a locally owned business then I highly recommend Nour. We will be back!

Yelp
A small sit down restaurant within a store. Absolutely loved the food, the atmosphere, the tea service (get the mint tea served from a beautiful metal teapot). It's obvious the owners and cooks care about their food. Everyone was kind and helpful in suggesting dishes and how to prepare the tea and the bread we purchased to take home after our lunch. The exotic ingredients and take home salads and dips and cheeses looked amazing. I love visiting mom and pop shops like this. This was a lovely and unexpectedly wonderful experience. Honestly it made my day. Plenty of leftovers to happily enjoy the next day. These are the places we should be supporting. Thank you to Nour Lebanese. We look forward to returning.

Yelp
Loved the food. Especially the weekend special - Slow roasted lamb. The owner was very welcoming and offered us extra sides and desserts. The service was quick and great. Don't expect a great ambience as this place is located inside a grocery store. Nevertheless, it is peaceful. There's ample parking space.

Yelp
100%, highly recommended. That says all you need to know. Super small, cozy, welcoming family outfit. You feel like you've just visited your family on vacation. Service was prompt, courteous and thoughtful. Food was astounding. The epitome of fresh and tasteful. Portions were large - come hungry. Quiet atmosphere and market has some great treats and imported goods. This is what a small business is all about.

Yelp
I came back to Nour after many years of not living near here, and in the best ways, it is just the same. Wonderful, healthy, delicious dishes. Incredible hospitality from the owners. Generous portions, served with love. Thanks again for another amazing meal

Yelp
Delicious little restaurant/ Lebanese grocery. Friendly staff. They brought warm pita bread and 3 different dipping bowls of goodness, some fairly mild and one very hot! My hubs and I shared a shwarma combo plate which is more than enough for lunch. Ingredients were yummy. We left with happy tummies and some baklava to go which hilariously is from Quebec! The only neg I would leave here is the interior was soooo cold so layer up if you're visiting during the winter months.

Yelp
This looks like my new favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the area. I moved to bethel a few weeks ago and now I'm in quest of finding my favorite restaurants for each cuisine. This place has friendly staff, good prices and authentic food. We also ordered lebanah for appetizers which came with pita bread. The restaurant gave 2 complimentary sides along with the appetizers. All of them were on point and authentic. The chicken in the kebabs were aromatic and juicy. Overall, enjoyed all the food. Don't forget to collect your complimentary chocolate before you walk out. 5 star service!!

Yelp
We enjoyed the food so much last time so stopped in for a second round! Well worth it.

Yelp
This is our favorite spot for healthy, hearty and spicy food hands down. It takes an artist to be this excellent a chef! Thank you for bringing this amazing menu to our community.

Yelp
This dinner experience was fantastic. A small little restaurant and Middle Eastern food store. A for authenticity and tastiness of multiple of the dishes.. The spinach cheese pie was unusual, but very tasty. Only disappointment was the baba ghanoush was not very flavorful. But the hummus was great.
google avatar

O H.

Yelp
Owner Hassan and staff are amazing, warm, and welcoming. Food is delicious and portions are generous. They make you feel at home. Ambiance is authentic with art and artifacts from the Middle East. They even have a grocery store for authentic middle eastern specialties. Stopped here on the way to Boston from NY. This is going to be a regular stop to break future trips. Will be back!

Yelp
A nice surprise to find authentic Lebanese food made by an owner chef who takes pride in his work. We enjoyed 3 apps and shared the Lamb Shawarma combo platter which was very good. The Kibbeh were superb/authentic and the Labneh Cheese Sticks were delicious creamy cheese wrapped in phyllo, wow. The spinach pie was tasty yet had a soggy doughy bottom, were we are used to the dryer Greek Phyllo style. We think it might be a more traditional style. They have a very cool store attached to this small 7 table establishment. No wine or beer yet they accommodated us bringing in a bottle of wine. We will return for sure!!

Yelp
I don't think I have ever said this in a review, but if I could give this place 10 stars, I would. The food is seriously unbelievable. And I mean everything we tried. We were traveling through the area and stayed at a local hotel. A quick look on Yelp brought this place up. It was close by and the pictures of the food looked good, so we called in an order then walked over with our dogs to pick it up. When we got there, a table was outside so we decided to stay and eat. We got the chicken shawarma combo platter $17.99, and a side of falafel. The combo platter comes with rice, chicken, baba ganoush, hummus, salad, and pita bread and dressed with pickles. Everything was so good. Like SO GOOD! The chicken was out of this world, and I would go as far as to say that it is some of the best chicken I have ever had. It was juicy, tender, and the spices were sweet, savory and really flavorful. I couldn't figure out exactly what they were but I could detect cinnamon and coriander. The rice was also really tasty. I could eat a bowl of just the rice. The hummus and baba ganoush were both fantastic, and there was a lot of it. The salad was fresh with tomatoes, pickles, romaine lettuce, and a few peppers (which I picked out because they are not my thing). The dressing had a fresh, minty taste, which I loved. The falafel appetizer $7.99, was 4 huge balls with pickles and a white sauce. They were cooked perfectly - crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. They also gave us a little bowl of something to try that was a white sauce that had a cucumber minty flavor on one side, and a tomato salad thing on the other side. This was delicious! I dug in with a spoon and ate the whole thing. And did I mention that the staff was also really great? We didn't tell them that we were going to sit outside and eat but he came out to check on us and see if everything was okay with the food. It really, really was amazing! Super nice and friendly. We travel between Florida and Maine every summer and now I'm going to make sure that Bethel CT is an overnight stop every time. I'm writing this while stuffed, but I'm still looking forward to coming back again in the spring. Highly recommended!!! People of Bethel are so lucky to have such a talented chef. I'm jealous!

Yelp
LAMB IS AMAZING!! Everyone was so nice and hospitable. I ordered a little of everything. So flavorful

Ashley D.

Yelp
Service was quick and friendly! But the food was truly special. So delicious and flavorful, would recommend Nour to anyone!

Yelp
It's Nour like "tour", not like "sour". But however you pronounce it, Nour Lebanese is a special place. When CT Yelp named Nour one of the Top 25 Places to Eat in CT, Nour had already been on my radar. A Danbury area Food Blogger friend had praised Nour when we were messaging about great Lebanese food. Although I live an hour away, my recent travel itinerary included a drive through Bethel and I had to stop at Nour. I phoned in my order from Route 84 but I ate part of it in the restaurant. As I often find with great Lebanese places, service was amazing. I had the impression that the person helping me may have been an owner. He didn't know that I am a Food Blogger or active Yelp reviewer, but he still offered my son candy, treats and chips from the market side of the business, and he offered me extra dips. He was such a great guy and I could immediately see why the CT Yelp Community is so high on Nour. My order included Beef Shawarma, Falafel, rice, salad, hummus, Baba Ganoush, pita and other dips. Everything was great. Lots of fresh herbs and terrific flavors. Perfect texture. I'm a big fan and Nour will be one of those CT places I'll visit whenever I can be near. Five Stars
google avatar

Ronni A.

Yelp
Five stars isn't enough. First the people are so nice and always have you taste other food. The food is amazing. Best Hummus ever! Don't miss this place. If you do you are missing out.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
This restaurant serves amazing quality Lebanese food. The chicken soup is packed with flavor and spices. If you like spicy food, this place is for you. It's just spicy enough to feel the kick but not too much where it'll make you want to chug a glass of ice water. It's perfect. Not to mention, the service is beyond amazing and the owner is very friendly and encourages you to try other dishes. The restaurant is decorated with beautiful antique objects on the shelves and art as well. It's a very comfortable home-y atmosphere. Get a taste of Lebanese if you haven't already!

Michael T. T.

Yelp
We stopped into the market. Large selection of our favorites.. all made from scratch and other item imported. The owner was great he offered us samples of a number of things. WOW. I don't know the names but the bean salad and the apricot custard was amazing. We will go back. Meat pies were just the right amount of spice. A true hidden gem.

Cujo C.

Yelp
Great shawarma, great falafel. Always friendly. Can't leave without being offered a taste! I'd go back twice more times!
google avatar

Kashmira C.

Yelp
I tried this again after many years. I really liked the chicken shawarma combo. It's huge , enough for 2 people to share. We also got kibbeh balls as a side, they were lovely !! Husband got the beef shawarma sandwich and it was good. I will definitely try their vegetarian offerings as I love middle eastern food.
google avatar

David E.

Yelp
place is good - and a nice family that owns it. it's a bit cluttered in there, and the food could be even better. I suggest that they cut the menu down a bit and focus on improving some of these dishes. yes it's good, just not great. Yet.
google avatar

Andrea V.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food never disappoints and the flavor is amazing! It is also a pleasure to come in for take out and offered samples of food while you wait The owner is very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the vegetarian combo and it is enough for two days. It comes with two falafel (one is missing because I took the picture after halfway eating it lol), hummus, baba ganoush, eggplant, okra, beets, lentil mash?, and grape leaves. Absolutely delicious!!! I am not even a vegetarian and I loved it!!! Excellent place to go!!! A+++++++
google avatar

Hilary K.

Yelp
Keep your eyes peeled for the sign or else you'll end up driving right by it! The food is authentic middle eastern fare. My favorite is their falafel. While you're there you can shop their imported foods and spices.
google avatar

Peter D.

Yelp
This little place never disappoints! The staff are genuine, interested and kind. The food is always delicious and generous. Check it out!
google avatar

Christopher B.

Yelp
Staff working the register, assuming the owner, was super nice/ friendly. Food was super delicious and a nice surprise for the area. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Lisa Y.

Yelp
Eating my delicious dinner as I'm writing this review! I've been here before but realized I've never written a well deserved review until now! I ordered the beef shawarma combo which comes with rice and salad, baba ghanoush and hummus with pita. The beef is so full of flavor and everything just meshes so well together. Definitely well deserved 5 stars!
google avatar

Dionne C.

Yelp
I was traveling through the area and stopped for dinner. Everything was delicious, fresh. I ordered falafel, tabouli hummus and everything tasted like traditional Lebanese dishes. The owner/chef was friendly and service was great.
google avatar

Katharine L.

Yelp
Stopped here on a trip through, and very happy we did! I got the chicken kabob platter, and an order of the special lamb with pilaf, both were delicious! Everything was served with an array of delicious sides! Worth the stop!
google avatar

James O.

Yelp
I absolutely love these people. They are wonderful, warm, good people who make fabulous food. I come here any time I'm home from the west coast and I wish the owners every bit of success. They deserve it.
google avatar

Yelp
After watched few videos on YouTube I was looking for a Middle Easter restaurant to try their typical food. I went to Nour Lebanese Cuisine... the place is very authentic... it's a Lebanese store/convenient store/restaurant. The food is excellent. The owner, perhaps a Lebanese woman, very "authentic" as I expected... she seems to be in a bad mood but she wasn't... she is just rough and straight to the point, exactly how i expected them to be. Overall, great experience great Lebanese food (Disclaimer, im not a Lebanese food expert, the food was great for my taste.) Ambiance is Great as well.
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
Amazing market for middle eastern ingredients, the friendliest staff, and great food! A portion is enough for two meals and we love to share a few meals there or for take out.

James B.

Yelp
The food and service is excellent. Have been here many times. Have had most everything on the menu lamb, chicken, kibbeh, beef, falafel, and recommend it all.
google avatar

Alexandra A.

Yelp
Incredible little spot in Bethel with so much flavor and authenticity coming straight from Lebanon! Everyone was so friendly! The food was delicious! So many different flavors put really well together! Highly recommend this amazing restaurant/market!
google avatar

Linda A.

Yelp
Best Lebanese food in the area. Not only is their food amazing, but the owners and employees are so kind to their customers and really care to create the best environment possible within their restaurant. The potato salad and chicken shawarma is the best around! I love coming here, it's definitely one of my favorites.

Linda C.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place! Have never had a dish I haven't liked. Bonus: the homemade halvah for sale in the little attached grocery store. Well worth a visit!
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
Phenomenal. If someone from out of town asked me to send them to one place that shows off our area's food culture, I would send them here. Yesterday I picked up take out and the owner handed me a bowl of soup while I waited . I can't say enough about this place. PS: worth a visit to dine in and see the unique and character-rich inside.
google avatar

Hank R.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed today. I loved this place when I was here twice last week. Today they overcooked the lamb shwarma and a lot of fatty muscle pieces. The baba ganoush was very good and the hummus was also very good. Kibbeh balls & cheese sambousek were both also very good. It's still a good place, just inconsistent within a small period of time. Possibly may be a red flag. Just so disappointing tonight. So sad

Sarah C.

Yelp
Nicest people, fast service, amazing food and good-sized portions! Could not recommend this place enough
google avatar

Sia B.

Yelp
Huge portion sizes at a great price! Not to mention how delicious the food was: Lamb special ($20), which had slow roasted lamb with walnuts, almonds, cashews and raisins over rice. The lamb was a bit dry, but the cucumber yogurt salad that comes with it complimented it nicely. Vegan platter ($20) had hummus, babaganoush, beets, 2 stuffed grape leaves, 2 falafels, eggplant, green olives and pita bread. So much texture, flavor, and variety, and great to share amongst 2 or 3 people. Would definitely recommend this place! If I'm ever in the area, I'll be back for sure
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
Wow! What a hidden, hole-in-the-wall gem!! We were in the areas going to Target and looking for a ceviche place that we couldn't find. Wife said "let's try Lebanese!" So we did. The owners were so friendly and gracious. You could tell they truly wanted to make their customers happy and had great pride in their establishment. The food was fabulous. We were served an assortment of small dishes to start which included a spicy sauce, bean salad, potato salad and a feta/parsley salad. Delicious! For the main not your typical fast food chicken shawarma - but a platter of delectable bites of chicken with hummus, baba ganoush, salad and pita. We also had the lamb kebab combo - fabulous chunks of lamb with smoky eggplant. The establishment is both a store and a mini Lebanese grocery. The restaurant portion is cozy and filled with Middle Eastern art and decor. Totally stumbled on this and we will be back. Voted best Lebanese in Connecticut and I agree!
google avatar

Devin T.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food. My mother and I were very impressed with everything we tried. I had the roast lamb special which was a generous portion for the cost. Neat grocery store in it

Naya B.

Yelp
Amazing food, the lady who I'm going to assume Is the wife gave my bf and I some samples of dessert and soup while we were waiting which was super delicious, would recommend this place to anyone. Super sweet people.

Yelp
This place is simply the best. The staff/ owners are always unfailingly kind and generous. The food couldn't be better. We eat here every time we're in the area.

Yelp
Delicious, consistent and they're always quick and friendly! Favorite Lebanese place I've found yet!
google avatar

Marietta C.

Yelp
I don't even know where to start except THIS PLACE IS SO AMAZING. As authentic as it gets! When you walk in, it's like a little Lebanese food market where you can find all sorts of things to take home with you: olives, cheeses, spreads, baklava, they have it all! Next to the cashier they have some glass doors that lead to the restaurant area. It's so small and homie and very family-esque. You're welcome to sit where you please. Came here on a Tuesday even evening and it was nice and quiet. Casual ambiance and everyone here is Lebanese. You get the real deal authentic stuff! Definitely recommend ordering family style where you get different things and just share. EVERYTHING IS AMAZING. It's a vegetarian/vegan heaven. Grape leaves are one of the best I've ever tried. As soon as it touches your tongue all the sparks go off. Also, make sure to order the traditional things such as the baba ganouj and hummus. You can never go wrong. The owner was so kind to even throw in a few other side dishes for us to try out while we were there. Everything was amazing and all we wanted to do was rewind time to be able to repeat the food experience in our pallets. If you like Lebanese food or have never had any, make sure to come here! Your taste buds will thank you later!
