"Nourish Bistro Vegetarians and veggie lovers alike can sometimes get overlooked in Alberta, a region prized for its beef. Enter Nourish Bistro! This farm-to-table restaurant is the place to go if you’re craving a little more green in your diet. The staff prides itself on using organic, seasonal ingredients, but it’s the creative combos of sweet and savory that really impress diners. The ravioli with lavender-infused cream sauce will blow your mind, and even the sides are special, like the Blazed Carrots with maple, garlic smoke, and heather flower, or the Love Buttons, beets with a hemp-herb-citrus sauce. Nourish also features a great selection of organic wines, spirits, and microbrews that are hard to find anywhere else in Banff. Note: Many dishes are extra-large, as they are meant to be shared family style."

A Vegetarian Delight in the Rockies If you're looking for the best vegetarian food in Banff, Nourish Bistro is the place to be. The Big Bear Burger was absolutely delicious — flavorful, hearty, and satisfying even for non-vegetarians. They also offer a great variety of fruity beers and creative cocktails that pair perfectly with the food. The service was friendly and attentive, and the cozy, nature-inspired ambiance adds to the overall experience. It is a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and uniqueness of the dishes make it worth it. Make sure to book in advance as it could be very busy.

If ever you are in Banff, this is a gem of a place. Everything is vegetarian or vegan including the drinks. We were in Banff end of May and were looking for a restaurant with more vegetarian options as well as the ambience. This place fitted the needs. Lovely patio sitting and the service was excellent. It was Saturday evening and the place was packed so we waited for 15 mins to get a table which was so worth it considering all the delicious options on the menu. There were four of us - we ordered Boss Bear Burger, Nourishment Bowl and Wild Mushrooms Ravioli. All three dishes were yummy. And also ordered beer and a non alcoholic drink. Will definitely go there again if ever we are in Banff!!

We tried this place for the first time after arriving in Banff and were blown away. We ordered the Boss Bear Burger and the Exotic Wild Mushroom Ravioli — both were absolutely delicious. The food was so good that we made sure to come back for brunch before leaving. This time, we had the Mountain Breakfast Skillet and the Nourish Omelette, and they were incredible and so filling. Honestly, this is hands down the best vegetarian/vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to. The flavours, the quality, the service — everything was incredible. Caleb, the owner was super nice and ensured we had the best time ever. Highly recommend!

Google
Heaven for vegetarians. We got the mushrooms ravioli and black bean burger. The fries with the burger were seasoned so well. And all the sauces were super tasty. Going back again to try other stuff. Definitely recommend. The staff is super friendly and welcoming!!!

Google
A must visit if you are ever in banff. Extremely kind staff and incredible food. Their unique twist on various meals while keeping it tasteful and flavourful is one of a kind. A restaurant like this is essential towards different food accommodations. The staff is extremely kind and service is quick. We loved it so much we came back twice during our short trip for brunch and dinner. Highly recommend.

Excellent vegan food and lovely staff! My sister and I loved the place so much that we ate there four times during our one-week stay in Banff. The staff is super friendly - one of the waiters even gave us a dessert for free for us to try (the vegan Oreo cheese cake) and it was super yummy. Would definitely good back if I were to come to Banff again :)

Google
Nourish Bistro was quite the experience with a well-balanced vegan/vegetarian palate and flavorful dishes. We will definitely be coming back on our next visit to Banff!

Google
As someone who has to eat dairy and gluten free, it is hard to find a great meal in a restaurant that isn't some sort of compromise of an existing menue item. Not here! Most of the meals are gluten and dairy free without any compromise in flavor! In fact, everything we ate was delicious and well priced. Service was also amazing. It is a place I will come back to frequently in my stay here. Thank you Nourish!

Yelp
Came here for cocktails and olives. Love the big green olives, served warm - has pits. The menu no longer had the one I wanted but once I mentioned this to the bartender he said he could make it as they have the old recipes! - Kyoto Sunrise 12/10 best cocktail in town. Anti-everything - 8/10 Gone south - 10/10, was really surprised how much I liked this one too. In the weeds - me 6/10, boyfriend 9/10 wayyy to strong flavor for me but i admit very unique taste.

Yelp
We arrived around 8pm for dinner on June 9th. While most of the staff were friendly, there was one waitress (wearing all black, backwards cap & pigtails, & a gruff voice) who made it very unpleasant for us. I thought she might be playing real life diner dash because she performed drive-by service (asking us and other tables "Is the food good?" While walking fast and we barely had time to answer). When we mentioned to her that the mushroom ravioli was undercooked and pointed out the white hard bit of pasta that hadn't been cooked, she said "I'll see what I can do" and stepped inside for half a second before coming back to our table and saying, "No, nothing I can do sooorrry." It made us question whether she was wanted to create the illusion that she was doing something about it. After that, without even telling us, she stopped serving us and another waiter began to serve us. It was so bizarre. The food itself was OK. We wanted to support a vegan/ vegetarian restaurant but the experience left a bad taste in our mouth.

Yelp
Chose this place for my birthday lunch as they offer vegan dishes and glad I did! I ordered the kimchi burger and was very happy with it; all fresh, great flavor. My husband (a meat fan) ordered the potstickers and said those were the best potstickers he ever had! Then he ordered the trio of dips which he said were okay. My kids had mac'n'cheese, non-vegan, and did not like it (I tasted it and it was rather bland.) Service was great and I very much enjoyed my meal!

Yelp
Blown away by how delicious the food was! Our server, Jack, was incredibly friendly and made great recommendations. We got the gyoza, kimchi burger, nourishment bowl, and fruit bowl. Everything was amazing and presented beautifully. It's such a happy feeling when people care about the food they are making. I wish we could have tried more from the menu.

Yelp
I came here for a nice birthday lunch and it was such a wonderful meal. The ambiance here is wonderful with all of the unique lighting and fantastic music. We ordered several appetizers including the gyoza, hummus plate and nachos. They were all so good but I really loved the vegan nachos! For my main course I had the ramen salad with tofu and it was wholesome, refreshing and tasty. Even though we all gorged ourselves, we all felt amazing after! Vegan food is always so satisfying and the food at nourish is especially satisfying and leaves you feeling revitalized afterwards. Our server was very kind, down to earth and offered great hiking suggestions. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, whether you're vegan or not!

Danny F.

Yelp
My falafel salad was delicious with many fresh ingredients. My husband eats occasionally a vegan meal and his poutine dish was very good. The service is excellent, fun and friendly. Great place to stop a healthy meal after hiking , great casual ambience.

Yelp
We walked in for brunch on a weekend while visiting Banff. We got their masala omelettes with roasted potatoes, aloo paratha and fried eggs. The food was fresh with the right amount of char on the veggies & potatoes. We got their passion fruit cheesecake for dessert, and were pleasantly surprised by the texture and flavors of it. The service was great but the ambiance was a bit dark and the ventilation was poor. The food was delicious though!

Yelp
100% recommend going to this restaurant even if you're not vegan/vegetarian. The vibe was chill and the ambiance was beautiful! The owner was really sweet. The service was fast! Coming to the food part, I would highly recommend getting the Kimchi burger. It was so flavorful and good size burger. Loved every bite of it. The fries that came along with were freshly made. We also ordered the Avocado smash with side of Chickpea omelette. It was really yum too! I had the iced chocolate chai. Again so refreshing and a great drink to pair with burger. Definitely going back next time we visit Banff!

Stephen J.

Yelp
We ordered the Skillet & the jungle pancakes. Everything was excellent! The skillet had beyond sausage that was best I ever had. The chick pea "eggs" were good, the greens were great & the potatoes were excellent and the toast tasted great. The jungle pancakes were extraordinary with the compote. We also ordered drinks. We had a beer which was a Cobble Stone Lager Ale. It was good, but the Mimosas were so good we ordered seconds. Service was good. We sat outside on a perfect day with a panoramic view of the mountains surrounding Banff. Best vegan/Vegetarian restaurant I have ever eaten.

Yelp
During our Banff adventure, we stumbled upon Nourish Bistro and decided to give it a whirl. So glad to know that there is a vegan/vegetarian establishment offering in town. We ordered the King Kong noodles and were able to share it between the two of us. We both felt satiated as the portion was a good size. I gotta say, I was a little off put about the mandarins addition, but they were declicious little bursts of citrusy goodness. I'll be adding this zesty twist to my own dishes from now on! The only complaint I have is the optional tofu. At an additional cost, we had to give it a pass, as the price felt a tad steep. It would be a dream if the tofu could be included given you're already paying $30. Vegans want protein too! We eyed a lot of the dishes around us and defintely wish we had more time to visit again. Defintely the next time we are visiting!

Yelp
We were blown away by how taste and how fun Nourish Bistro was! We went in for lunch and it was nicely busy, but the staff, including the owners took the time to come chat with us. They brought the food quickly and everything was super wonderful! Not all of us are vegetarian, but even the meat eaters were surprised by how good everything was. Such a fun experience. Check out the amazing food photos!

Yelp
Amazing vegetarian and vegan spot! Great selection and the food was awesome! Great service and cute location with outdoor seating.

Yelp
Yummy vegetarian food! Loved the poutine and bear burger. My husband got the ravioli and enjoyed it as well.

Yelp
Being plant based makes dining while traveling difficult, but finding this gem of a restaurant absolutely made my day. Nourish Bistro is a fun funky establishment with an incredible menu that is plant, vegan and veggie friendly. We ordered the gyoza, vegan poutine, tempura broccoli and the king kong noodles. I asked for a recommendation for cocktails and was not disappointed; ordered something with watermelon (can't remember the name) and it was ridiculously delicious! Each of the food items had a wonderful flavor profile, but the gyoza was my favorite. The service was superb and the ambiance was welcoming and warm; maybe bring the volume down on the music, but still enjoyable. The highlight was that I am also traveling with my pup and he was welcomed INSIDE...this overwhelmed him, but he behaved. We will be back. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the Banff area!

Yelp
We're enjoying four days in Banff and have found ourselves brunching and lunching at Nourish every day so far! My husband is vegan and this place should be your first stop if you are interested in plant-based or vegetarian bites and delights. On our first visit, in the midst of a seven mile hike, I enjoyed the smashed avo which was a delightful DIY avocado toast with four pieces of toasted focaccia and lovely toppings to try and find your perfect combination. Ask for the hot sauce as it brightened every bite. My husband enjoyed the v(egg)ie bowl with chickpea "scrambled egg" pancakes. The "butter" mushrooms and garlicky sautéed spinach were the highlights of this dish for us! Day two we came in for a late lunch after a spa day and I enjoyed the ramen salad with extra dressing while my partner-in-crime devoured the green lentil soup and the signature mushroom ravioli. The bread was a lovely accompaniment to the soup as well. We finished our meal as the sun finally emerged from behind the clouds with the nutella cheesecake which was gone in an instant. The service here is so gracious and attentive that we will definitely be back in before heading home in a few days!

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised with quality and flavors in the food. Must visit place for all vegetarians and non-vegetarians to enjoy and explore their unique preparations. Servers were very friendly and charming. The place was lit with multi-color shades and looked beautiful.

Pankaj T.

Yelp
Food was great, service was great too but I've got to say... The greeting host was the worst host I've seen in several years.. grumpy, rude unhelpful! Very good creative and healthy menu!
google avatar

Yelp
We were excited to try a vegan café in the dead of winter in Banff, in particular because they offered vegan poutine. As American tourists this was a must try, but as vegetarians we needed an alternative. We were seated in the restaurant and service was good, we came at a down time and were one of the only customers. The salad, poutine and pasta options we ordered were all pretty good. Inside decor is funky eclectic, more of a hippie lunch spot than a date night. Nice to have something different, fresh and delicious.
google avatar

Deborah K.

Yelp
I loved alll the food here. All vegans and vegetarians!! This place is your bread and butter! Ambiance was classic hipster casual. They have outdoor seating that's also pet friendly. Service is quick. You could also call to order ahead which some places here Banff do not all own

Tanvi Y.

Yelp
Great place to start off our trip to Banff. Came for lunch. Parked right outside the restaurant in the outdoor lot. We have a few dietary allergies and this place was very thoughtful and accommodating to the allergies! The best items were the nourishment bowl, kimchi burger, and their desserts are amazing! Great service too.
google avatar

Karine L.

Yelp
Loved our quick brunch here! I had the eggy sandwich thing (made vegan). The chickpea egg was so tasty - none of the bitterness that happens with undercooked chickpea flour and not overly greasy. Loved the vegan queso and sauce it comes with. The potatoes were also delightfully crisp! It's a big portion, so come hungry. Would try the pancakes next time!
google avatar

Danesh J.

Yelp
Want a burger that doesn't make you feel groggy and tired? Get the burger here. Crispy, flavorful, balanced, and filling without the post-burger coma. The fries are well seasoned and not oily either. The Nourish Iced Coffee is delicious too. Note: It's more of an affogato than a typical Iced Coffee.
google avatar

Jemma S.

Yelp
Wow, I was absolutely blown away! I met with friends from the UK; and knowing they had a vegetarian preference, I decided to choose Nourish. I was definitely not disappointed! The food was vibrant and colourful, and also very delicious! We had the nachos to start & I had the 'Mac N Squeeze'..so good! The restaurant has a unique atmosphere unlike any other restaurant I've been too, and the staff were very friendly & energetic! I very highly recommend Nourish Bistro for anyone! Thank you for having us!

Yelp
I came here for dinner, mostly because the other places in the city seemed a bit overrated. I was pleasantly surprised with the food here. I didn't realize everything was vegan, which was an added plus. I'm not vegan, but always down to try more plant-based foods. I had the nachos and the mushroom ravioli. The quality of food here was really good, very different tasting and unique. The mushroom ravioli was very creamy and savory. The incorporated several different types of mushrooms. The nachos were something that were pretty popular online, and I get it. There's a lot of things in nacho platter that you wouldn't expect but totally work together! The food here is definitely very inspiring to try different things The staff were super friendly. They also serve drinks here, I don't remember which cider got, but they have lots of options and I really enjoyed it!
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
Came for drinks and a place to sit since this place seemed to be one of the few places open slightly later than the rest in Banff. My group ordered a wide variety of offerings on the menu, from the falafel salad to tea and beer and cider. One standout was their soup of the day, which was decribed as a potato mushroom soup. Definitely heavier on the mushroom and difficult to describe. We all tried it and we're still not sure if we liked it. Drinks were standard and had a decent variety. The falafel salad was alright. Staff was accomodating for our group of 7 and we lucked out getting their "private room" which was a booth in the back.
google avatar

Winter W.

Yelp
We went to Nourish for lunch and sat on the patio. We ordered the nachos and mushroom ravioli. The nachos was huge with a variety of toppings. We wish there was more cheese on the bottom layers. It was something new to try but we wouldn't order it again. The ravioli was very good and the sauce was amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
Located right off the beaten path Nourish bistro is a small must see restaurant. The menu is extensive and offers a variety of options for vegans and vegetarians. The menu is super easy to read and user friendly. I ordered to start the gyozas. These were amazing thr Chilli sauce was spectacular. For main I ordered the Kimchi burger which was delicious with a side of fries. It was spicy but delicious. Overral it was amazing. The service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was funky with some great dance music.

Claudia F.

Yelp
Excellent food!!We love their menu. We tried nachos for dinner and the next day we came back and tried the pancakes for breakfast. Absolutely delicious!!

Stephani S.

Yelp
The Kimchi Burger was one of the best burgers I've eaten and they made adjustments so it was completely vegan. Well done

Maddie B.

Yelp
10/10 food and service. Would highly highly recommend for any vegetarians, vegans, or just adventurous eaters. So much flavor and love put into every dish. The owner and wait staff were amazing - will definitely be back this trip!
google avatar

Swetha R.

Yelp
Amazing food. Everything tasted delicious and was plated so beautifully. You could really tell that they love creating magic with food
google avatar

Simmy S.

Yelp
Found this little gem by accident, didn't know it was a vegetarian restaurant until the super friendly waiter told me (I'm not a vegetarian by any means). But, I figured let me give this a try, especially since what caught my eye was the Boss "Bear" Burger. What you get is a pretty massive and very tasty veggie burger. I ordered Harissa poutine fries, which was very large size and also very good, I can barely finish my meal. Highly recommend giving this restaurant a try if you want to try out vegetarian or vegan dishes.

Shannon D.

Yelp
The ravioli was exquisite. Loved the food and the friendly service. King Kong noodles were great on a chilly rainy evening.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to Nourish three times, each were excellent experiences. The first time was by luck, having tried countless spots beforehand for a table, busy night in Banff. The next two were deliberate, having enjoyed the food and having a daughter with diet restrictions. This review is really about the 3rd visit that we pretty much drove an hour specifically for lunch at Nourish. Seems excessive but if you are vegan or have dietary restrictions it offers a unique dining experience. As with all the visits, food and service was excellent. The staff is very friendly and you get the feeling your all part of some sort of vegan sorority (says the male carnivore). On this particular visit, all the food was excellent. The Mac'n'Squeeze is one of the best pastas I've ever had, vegan or otherwise. I do find the prices high but I appreciate that delivering this quality of vegan, gluten-free, or vegetarian food isn't cheap. World Famous Nachos are beautiful, delicious, and shareable, but by the time you add a couple of sides you'll be over $30. Overall we spent almost as much for lunch as we'd normally spend for a decent dinner, however it is a unique experience so it's a judgement call, especially for those with dietary restrictions, whether the prices are worth it. We visited on one of the coldest days of the year and since the place just opened, it was freezing inside and a lot of the food and drinks were coming to the table cold. Also, we felt seating was a bit tight for the COVID situation. These may not be long term concerns, but enough to warrant a rating of four, even though the food is definitely a five. Definitely will be back to try more of the menu, maybe post-COVID (if that's even a thing!) and on a warmer day.

Yelp
Fast service and really liked the food! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Wow! Love it. Cozy eclectic atmosphere, superb sangria, nice staff and excellent food. Absolutely love the nachos. Went back a second time and tried the mushroom ravioli which was delicious.

Yelp
Such a cool spot in downtown Banff! We are vegetarian so were really excited to find Nourish Bistro on our recent trip. The ambiance is cool: mood lighting, a tree inside, booths, a bar, and friendly employees. We ordered the special where you can choose 3 items for $25 and really enjoyed everything: vegetable soup, gyozas, and mushroom ravioli. It was filling and such a nice, chill meal after a day of adventure.
google avatar

Giselle M.

Yelp
This was our first stop once we arrived in Banff since we were looking to nourish our bodies with a fresh & healthy lunch after our morning travels. Well the name says it all...we definitely felt nourished and totally satisfied after enjoying their Hummus Trio and Beautiful Burrito! This is definitely a fun & funky restaurant/bar we would visit again when in Banff. Truth be told, we did go back a second time during our 5-day trip, because that Beautiful Burrito was calling our name! The staff here was also very friendly. One of them even got us connected to WiFi even though the restaurant does't actually have its own free WiFi. Very much appreciated for us visitors who needed to connect to figure out where we were going/what we were doing next. This place is definitely a great option for delicious vegan/vegetarian food, and although we didn't day drink, the bar sure looked enticing as well!
google avatar

Hiral T.

Yelp
This place was opened last 9pm so went to check it out. Ordered a falafel salad and the kimchi burgers with harissa fries. The falafel salad was delicious and very hearty - only thing I would change is that the broken up falafel balls be warmed up so that there's a nice contrast with the rest of the salas. The kimchi patty was also very flavorful and crispy which contrasted against the bun with sauces. Would recommend getting this for sure! As far as desserts go they ran out of the blueberry cheesecake and everything else except ice cream near closing time - just heads up.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
Great service! Staff and kitchen staff were all very kind. Everyone is very helpful. It is the only vegetarian restaurant in Banff. They are able to make accommodations based on your dietary needs. Interesting menu, lovely ambience, great service! Nourish Bistro is a bright light in the middle of a vegan desert.
google avatar

Anika D.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The food is delicious and even though I left the place very full, I didn't feel gross after. Our server, Sam, was soooo sweet and extremely helpful + knowledgeable about the food. The place itself is also super cute and the music was great too. If I was local, I'd for sure be a regular
google avatar

Tamara H.

Yelp
It takes a lot anymore to blow my socks off, but Nourish Bistro did. It nourished by body (and) my love for delicious food. It was scrumptious! Everything we ordered was full of flavor and fresh-tasting. Our server was kind and attentive and added to our experience. I kept looking at other tables to see what they ordered because there were other items on the menu I wanted to try. Everything I spotted on our fellow diner's tables looked tasty as well. We plan to return again at least once, if not twice, before we leave Banff. I have pinpointed a few selections I can't wait to try! We do not have any dietary restrictions, simply enjoy good food and Nourish Bistro checks off all the boxes for good food (plus) attentive, friendly service. Two thumbs up!

Jenna M.

Yelp
Thanks Yelp for leading us here! Neither of us is vegetarian but we were looking for a change from the steaks and burgers we've been eating this trip. Wow did Nourish do us right. The menu is creative and varied. We shared the falafel salad and the Nourishment Bowl. So delicious. The falafel salad was perfectly balanced and I was scraping the bowl. The Nourishment Bowl was maybe the best quinoa and veggie bowl ever? Super original and soooo flavorful. The cocktail menu was tempting but we stuck with beer. The service was friendly and thoughtful. The atmosphere is a vibe in itself - totally enjoyable. Thanks Nourish Bistro!
google avatar

Lexie F.

Yelp
The food was so amazingly delicious! Charlie was a phenomenal server and made my 30th birthday one to remember! I'm so happy to have found a restaurant able to cater to me being both vegan and soy free. The music was so fun, the mixed drinks were phenomenal. We loved this place!!
google avatar

Karen G.

Yelp
Cool vibe inside, delicious vegetarian cuisine, and friendly service even on a very busy evening.
google avatar

Mahi G.

Yelp
The food was amazing! We got the loaded nachos, vegan gyozas, beetroot bruschetta, mango Django smoothie, fresh peach juice, and lemon blueberry vegan cheesecake. Everything was phenomenal - would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area. The cheesecake was just the right amount of sweetness. The nachos had strawberries, oranges, and plenty of veggies. We didn't even take any pictures of the food, as we devoured it in minutes.

Sowmya S.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! We stayed in Banff for 3 nights and we visited this restaurant 3 times. Twice for dinner and once for weekend brunch. Coming from India, I was initially skeptical about ordering Aloo Paratha on their brunch menu, but my mind was pleasantly blown away after eating it. They make great modifications on food if needed, Gluten free, dairy free, substitutions etc. Can't recommend this place enough. 5/5.
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
If you are plant-based or enjoy vegan fare from time to time, this is THE spot in Banff. Our family of 4 went in starving after a long day on the mountain and ordered half the menu. The cocktails were great, the food was unique and delicious, the staff was passionate and friendly and the ambiance was perfect. We'd highly recommend it!
google avatar

Geoffry H.

Yelp
Wonderful place to get healthy, nourishing food. The staff are so very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I have visited this restaurant many times in the past and I have never been disappointed. With all the choices in Banff; I rank it in the top ten for simple, quaint ambience, excellent servers and food that is absolutely delicious. Some of my favourites are... MOUNTAIN BREAKFAST SKILLET Chickpea omelette, beyond meat sausage, roasted roma tomato, garlic butter mushroom, olive oil-lemon arugula, harissa hash browns and locally made sourdough, all served on a hot skillet w' a roasted tomato salsa. WORLD FAMOUS NACHOS Their nachos come fully loaded with over 27 ingredients. Everything from beans and quinoa to dill pickles and strawberries. Topped with vegan queso or cheddar and monterey jack cheese. You haven't had nachos till you've tried our nachos! HUMMUS TRIO Three flavours of house made hummus with local herbed focaccia. NOURISHMENT BOWL Quinoa and roasted veg sautéed in garlic and coconut cream, topped with beet hummus, fresh veg, nuts, seeds, and house made orange sesame dressing. Next time you are in Banff I highly recommend you treat yourself to Nourish yourself!!!
