NOVA Cruises

We were on this cruise last night and hated every minute. Too noisy, too packed. Idiots drunk and out of control, damaging the boat, acting indecently in the toilets, foul mouthed. Really really disappointed. This was suppose to be a family Xmas dinner and it was disgusting. Food and drinks hurriedly taken away. Just rude. Never again.

We did the Lunchtime Newcastle Harbour Cruise and it was fantastic. Great lunch, staff were great, nice and friendly and the tour information was very informative. Highly recommend to any visitor to Newcastle

Absolutely magical Christmas luncheon cruise on the 13th of December 2025! A huge thank you to Nova Cruises for hosting our Fitness YinYangers Christmas Luncheon Cruise — it was truly unforgettable! The Christmas luncheon was delicious, beautifully presented, and enjoyed by all our ladies. A very special thank you to Captain Peter for such a safe, smooth, and relaxing cruise — we felt completely looked after from start to finish. Big thanks to the wonderful crew for their friendly service, smiles, and attention to detail throughout the day. And of course, a massive shout-out to Ben, who kept us entertained for the entire 4 hours — the energy, fun, and laughter were amazing! A special highlight was “Mambo No. 5” — our members jumped straight onto the dance floor, thanks to practising that very routine in our Zumba classes at Fitness YinYang in Charlestown, NSW 💃🕺 Thank you, Nova Cruises, for creating such a joyful, festive, and memorable experience for our beautiful community. The Nova team were able to accommodate a last minute booking for the two of us for the 2.5 hour whale watching tour. Even though the conditions were quite rough with large swells we felt safe and comfortable. Great having the option to sit on the upper deck in the sunshine or down below in the cabin. The trip finished with a tour of the harbour which was very informative. The crew were great, very friendly & nothing was a problem. Will definitely do another cruise with Nova if we come back to Newcastle.

Had a trip with no whales, but enjoyed the trip. Came back to Newcastle for free replacement cruise offered. As we were coming from Blue Mountains region let us book so we could arrange accommodation. The experience was great. Saw pod of whales with juvenile repeatedly doing breaching demonstration. The crew were great and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Only took one star off as warning. Is not a large boat, and can be awkward up top if weather choppy. Partner has been fine on other boat experiences, but both times became ill even after taking medication. If you are unsure, stay down stairs. Staff will assist for great viewing if whales spotted anyway!!

What a beautiful day we had on the Newcastle Harbour with Novacruises. The staff were fabulous in looking after us. We had a 2.5hr cruise which included lunch and dessert. The food tasted great and the portions were very generous. The Captain provided interesting local harbour information along the way. We were really thankful the weather was great but it we were also in an enclosed boat. The other nice thing I noticed was even though we were in an enclosed area, it wasn’t stuffy with enough fresh air. Highly recommend Novacruises.

The lunch cruise was just adequate on a sunny but chilly day. Food was all cold offerings. Started late due to battery issue. Cruise is primarily past industrial buildings and ships. Commentary was about aluminum, coal, business interests. I found it rather dull.
