Nova Skyland Hotel

Stayed for two nights. Unique modern architecture with tasteful interior - perfect for experiencing the midnight sun and (surely!) polar lights in winter. Hotel has both suites and cabins, both very well kept. Good location for visiting Rovaniemi and getting a taste of Lappland. ||Very attentive management. Good breakfast. ||Hotel is next door to "Santa's Village on the Arctic circle" - if you love that kind of venue. Visit Santa (or Ioulopukki, as he's called there), browse shops, write postcards, acquire trinkets - but better avoid the food ;-)

Had a great time. Rooms are spacious, sauna in room, very comfortable bed and TV has 4,000 channels. Hotel in Santa Claus Village. Nearby Santa's house and pets including reindeer and husky. Staff is friendly and very accommodating.

The location was perfect—just a short walk from Santa Claus Village. The house was spacious, with two levels, two bedrooms, and several sofa beds—more than enough for our family of four. There’s no air conditioning, so it can take some time to cool down on warmer days. The breakfast buffet at Nova Skyland Hotel was excellent, with a great selection and quality. However, the breakfast at the Christmas House Restaurant inside Santa Claus Village was disappointing in comparison. It’s also worth noting that the better buffet at Nova Skyland seems to be available only on weekends. A great place overall, especially for families visiting Santa Claus Village.

We stayed in the Aurora suites and it was lovely. The bedroom upstairs has a large windows pointed up to catch the northern lights (if you were lucky enough). The downstairs living room was comfortable and it also had large windows. There were two bathrooms, one had a sauna. The decor was sleek and modern with wood finishes. Each room included the breakfast buffet in their beautiful restaurant. The food selection was excellent. The area around the hotel was breathtaking, pine trees sitting quietly in the snow. There two resident reindeers that were quite popular. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location is conveniently near the airport and close to center of town. Also walking distance to Santa Claus village. The only negative is that the rooms are not exactly sound proof. The family next to us had children that screamed all night long.

We had a wonderful stay here! My daughter absolutely fell in love with Gingerbread and Heidi, the two reindeers just outside the hotel—they were a highlight of the trip. She’s already asked to come back every year! We stayed in the Nordic Cottage for 3 nights, which was spacious, beautifully designed, and had large windows that let in lots of natural light. It felt cozy and peaceful. The hotel is perfectly located for visiting Santa Claus Village—just a 2-minute walk to Santa’s Office, where you can meet Santa himself. That made things incredibly convenient, especially with a little one. The only thing to note is that the nearest supermarket is about a 10-minute drive (or a 40-minute walk), so we used Uber a few times during our stay. It wasn’t a big issue, but good to plan for if you want to explore outside the village. Overall, a magical experience—perfect for families. We’ll definitely be back!

Didnt expect the room is so spacious with fantastic views. Literally its the room in my dream. Bed is comfy and there are 2 bathrooms with unlimited hot water supply. So grateful for this as we just back from Ivalo. Hotel breakfast is very nice and ambience is super nice! Highly highly recommend. Walking distance to Santa village and there are alot of activities there.

We have just returned after a 4 day stay in the Nova Skyland resort and all I can say is…..wow! Our stay was perfect from start to finish. We stayed in a Nordic cottage which in our view was well worth the extra money. We had views of the reindeer constantly from our back windows! The bed was the comfiest I’ve slept in for ages and the whole lodge was spotlessly clean. We loved the sauna too. Housekeeping does come in (you don’t have to pay extra) and there’s even a dishwasher. We also didn’t realise how close we were to Santa Claus village - you can walk first from the hotel in 1 minute. |Breakfast was fantastic as was the evening food in the restaurant and as guests in the hotel, we received 20% discount which was a nice touch. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. We were so sad to leave. I would recommend this hotel to any friends visiting this part of Finland.

We booked here because we wanted to stay in the santa clause village. It can fit 4 ppl but its just the 2 of us..very nice room and they helped us with the luggage from the reception to our room which we were really grateful. For the pricepoint, its worth it if you want to stay in the santa clause village to enjoy the quiet santa clause village at night and esp if you have 4 ppl sharing the room. There's 2 floors with 2 bathroom and a private sauna...But it does not come with a kitchen and the TV does not have wifi..we din manage to catch aurora but we enjoyed our stay so much..where we can go to santa clause village whenever we want ~
