The 6 Best Hotels in Brisbane (Updated 2025)

"Nestled in the vibrant heart of the South Bank district, this four-star hotel impressed me with its sleek, modern design and chic contemporary décor. It's a large property with an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, and an on-site restaurant that serves a delicious breakfast buffet. The rooms are spacious with comfy beds and plush duvets, seating areas, smart TVs, desks, and most bathrooms are large with an open-plan design. Overall, I think it's a great choice for those seeking a stylish stay in the heart of the city." - Matthew Kepnes

This was by far the nicest Novotel I have ever stayed in. Firstly, Thien who checked us in was wonderful. We’d just arrived from England and were exhausted after our flight, Thien personally came up to the pool area to tell us we could check in early and the room was ready, we were absolutely ecstatic and her service was amazing. I had a tasty coffee in the lobby, I didn’t order any food but could see it looked good. The rooms were very clean and spacious, nice quiet air con and a really special view of the city and the South Bank wheel. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I’m ever back in Brisbane, 10/10, thank you very much

Service was always friendly at this Novotel and the gym in the South Bank hotel is larger than most hotels I've stayed at and if you want to get in a workout the gym is a pretty decent size, and you can get some weighted chest presses in and weighted lat pull chest or low rows done, or just jump on the treadmill. The gym is also facilitated with some towels. The food at this hotel is fantastic 5 stars to their chef and their breakfast and lattes were also great. But the hotel lost 1 point in this review because my bed was never made properly, it looked like the staff just pulled the doona cover back over the bed without straightening the sheet in the bed. The team at reception are friendly and helpful and the luggage storage option is also handy too if you're checking out early but not leaving until the afternoon.

Great hotel. Great restaurant and bar. Playground opposite in the park. Nice clean rooms. Didn’t use the pool as it was quite cold, we used the public lagoon pool at south bank instead which was warmer. Nice coffee and drinks. Cute birthday cupcake and card. Handy location. Drop off and loading zone. Kitchen open until 9pm. Check out 11. Really cute and nice touch to give the kids souvenir soft-toys at the end of the stay. Good All Accor welcome drinks and points stays. Cons: Their carpark was full when I arrived with two kids at night. A real hassle to street park for free until 7am then $10 for 3 hours then had to shift to the convention centre for $35 for 24h. Not far to walk but hard with kids who are tired. The rooms don’t have any opening windows. It gives you a headache after a few hours. Really need to put opening windows in the rooms, but they can’t add that in now, it’s too late. Not sure if they are homeless people or not camped out in the park opposite the hotel with tents. They didn’t bother anyone and not the hotels fault, but didn’t like walking past at night from the street parking. 20min from the airport. 16-20min to lone pine koala sanctuary and a 10min walk to the amazing streets lagoon pool, brisbane eye, river banks, kids train ride, nepalese pagoda, mini forest walk, markets, shops and eat street.

We had a wonderful stay with our child. It was nice that the hotel offered ice cream while swimming and provided water in the lobby so we didn’t need to buy any. The location in South Bank was perfect — we could walk to major attractions and the bus stop was right in front, which made getting around very easy. Our room was connected directly to the pool, which was convenient, and although a cockroach entered the room, the staff handled the situation promptly and professionally. We truly appreciated their support.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️||I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Novotel South Bank! The hotel was spotless, stylish, and in the perfect location — close to everything yet peaceful and relaxing. The highlight of my stay, though, was the outstanding service from Katie. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, from check-in to check-out. Her warm, friendly attitude and genuine care made me feel truly welcome.||Thank you, Katie, for your exceptional service — you’re a real credit to the Novotel team! I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Brisbane.

Great hotel nice and close to all the South Bank activities. Literally across the road from the convention centre, so perfect if you are heading there for an event. Buffet breakfast was great, rooms super clean and comfortable. Will definitely book again if we are up that way!

We travelled to Brisbane to attend a conference at the Brisbane Conference and Exhibition Centre in South Bank, for which the Novotel is ideally situated, three minutes walk away. The hotel staff were welcoming and informative, and the corner suite we occupied truly excellent. Importantly, the bathroom was well designed, safe, clean and fully equipped. Room lighting was far better than in many quality hotels, and switches intelligently placed. The mattress was a little softer than we prefer but the pillows were excellent. External noise was minimal, while the well-fitted door provided effective reduction of internal noise. Room cleaning staff were efficient and flexible with service times as we required. Breakfast offered a wide range of options, including some dishes available on demand. Our only disappointment was dinner at the in-house restaurant, where we found only a few dishes that appealed to our taste. Of course, others might have a wider spectrum of food preferences. Apart from the conference centre and the delights if South Bank, it is a short walk across the bridge to the CBD. |There is no doubt that we will choose the Novotel South Bank on future visits.

I am currently staying at Novotel Brisbane for a 5-day, 4-night conference, and the experience has been deeply disappointing from the moment we arrived. The front desk staff were not welcoming and provided no basic information about our stay, including breakfast details or hotel facilities. The restaurant is clearly understaffed, and the service reflects it. On the first day during happy hour, we were charged full price, only to be told afterward that we needed to order a beef burger to receive the complimentary drink. Today, when I went to get a hot drink during dinner service, I was asked to pay at the counter before receiving it, despite dining in. Natalia, the waitress, was very rude, showed a don’t-care attitude, and served the drink in a takeaway cup—which we were then charged extra for. Her attitude was totally unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. When we attempted to order food, another staff member, Jacob, told us he was too busy to take our order. The level of customer service here is shockingly bad across multiple staff members, and it has made this stay extremely unpleasant. I still have three more days to go, and honestly, I am not looking forward to it. If I could switch hotels, I would. I would not recommend Novotel Brisbane to anyone based on this experience.
