I had a really good stay at Novotel Darwin CBD. The location is honestly perfect — right in the CBD and close to everything, so it was easy to strolling around the city. Check-in was quick and smooth. Sola helped me with the process and she was amazing the whole time. She kept checking in to see if I needed anything, and she was just really kind and friendly. I got a room with a nice view. The room is a bit old, but it was clean and comfortable, so no complaints from me. Shout out to housekeeping team👏👌 Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back😊

Sadly not the Novotel experience I'm used to as an All Accor Member and definitely not a four star hotel.||The Good - The reception and bar staff were friendly and helpful however I could see that they were struggling with all the requests and enquiries. The bed was comfortable and pillows great as were the hand soap and body wash. I was upgraded to a room with a separate lounge which was great and offered me more space, however it looked over the carpark at the rear of the building.||The Bad - The room was far tired... cracked tiles in the bathroom, the bathroom fan that came on at 5.30am that you can't turn off so have to shut the door, the loud fridge which has the light on 24/7 which keeps you awake and the loudest air con I've heard in years! The curtains had holes in them and looked rotten! The tiles were cracked in the bathroom (floor and walls) and you could see where there had been multiple attempts at mounting things on the wall that had not been successful with rudimentary repairs made. The top of the toilet was stained (I hope with bleach given the colour) and the shower, and other areas, just need a good scrub. ||The Ugly - The display for the air con was non existent and I couldn't see what I was setting. I had to go down to reception to ask for someone to fix it. The towels were threadbare in places and in other places so thin you could see through them. The shelves in the bathroom had not been dusted for months and they had rust stains on them from the brackets. However the most disturbing thing was the blood on the back of the bathroom door which made me wonder if it had ever been closed to clean anything, including the shower, behind it...||This hotel is in desperate need of a refurb and until that is completed I would not recommend staying here if you are looking for a four star experience.

Very close in CBD , walking distance to places I needed to go. Room.was spacious and clean and serviced every day .. Staff was courteous and professional although a small misunderstanding when I checked out that was sorted immediately.. I loved the ground floor setting for the bar and restaurant. Very inviting and with plenty comfortable seatings!! Only hope the pool area could be abit more big and child friendly as well 🙂 , was planning another trip this time with my children.

While the hotel rooms are a little dated, the room rate is good value especially when you include their buffet breakfast. The view from our ocean facing room on the fourth floor was magnificent. We enjoyed the pool daily and also the bar in the stunning atrium was a great spot to wind down. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and our room was very clean.

Don't ask me how it could happen but when i arrived the hotel had me booked to arrive on the day i was departing. No problems though - all fixed in a flash. Very pleasant front office gal. The open artium area has been given a tropical makeover - I am not suggesting Tarzan is about to swing in from the trees - but don't be surprised. There is lots of lush vegetation along the paths and hanging down from the top floor - even a little creek. Nice introduction to tropical Darwin really. The room was fairly basic but comfortable and overlooked the esplanade. No mod cons like USB slots but i always carry a couple of plug-ins.

Regretfully, I cannot recommend the Novotel Darwin. Despite a check in time of 2pm, my room was not available until 4pm. A free drink voucher was provided to the bar. The customer service member greeting arrivals appeared overwhelmed, and many other travellers were advised their rooms weren’t ready. The apartment was dirty. It smelt damp and faintly of urine. The carpets were stained. It appeared eerily like blood. Areas of the bathroom and sliding door to the balcony were black and mouldy. The fridge needed a wipe out. The balcony overlooked the dumpsters in the carpark and the ceiling looked ready to give up and cave in. The kitchenette was tiny and poorly equipped. The sink plug didn’t fit adequately. Bin liners weren’t provided for the trash cans which I found odd and unhygienic. The provided laundry facilities are expensive ($6 per wash/dry, $2 for laundry powder). I found this surprising, as most accomodation will provide these free of charge to guests. There is no gym on site. There is access to a 24/7 facility a 10 minute walk down the road, which is well equipped. The room was poorly sound proofed. The room was so grim it forced me to fill in as much time as possible with activities so as to avoid spending time in it.

Lovely hotel with super friendly staff. However, our suite was in need of updating and bringing into this century. There were NO power points in the twin bedroom and the living area was worn and basic. Other than that, there was a great air con system, a great swimming pool, a lovely atrium and bar area and restaurant. The hotel was close to a local supermarket and within walking distance of local bars and restaurants.

Rooms are kind of old. Also hardly any view from the junior suite with sea view. Despite the platinum status a higher floor or any other upgrade was not provided. Maybe they were full. Free breakfast and 50% off for food was offered. All in all a good place and a good location but don't expect much view from the room and the room furnishings are a bit old.
