The location is fantastic, close to the mall and very central. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated the upgrade to the highest tier room along with a thoughtful welcome gift. The room was clean and comfortable which made the stay enjoyable. There were a few things that could be better. It was sometimes tricky to get a taxi from the lobby. The bathroom layout was odd and didn’t offer much privacy. Breakfast was average and I would have preferred if basics like a bathrobe and other amenities were already in the room instead of having to ask for them. Overall I had a very good stay and the positives stood out. With a few small improvements this place could be excellent.

This hotel is just a 3-minute walk from Melbourne Central Station, making it a quiet, safe, and very convenient location. What stood out most was the professionalism and friendliness of the staffs, service was consistently excellent throughout our stay. Breakfast options in the morning were quite limited but very healthy, and while the restaurant food was decent, there is still room for improvement. I really appreciated the hotel’s sustainability efforts. Instead of plastic bottled water, guests are provided with glass bottles that can be refilled on Level 2. We also opted out of daily room service, and as part of their “green service” initiative, we received a $20 credit for each night—an unexpected but very welcome bonus at checkout. Overall, Novotel continues to impress and never disappoints.

I recently stayed at the Novotel Melbourne Central for one night, and I was pleased with the overall experience. The hotel's relaxed and clean facilities made for a comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and amenities that met my needs. While the hotel's location was convenient for my purposes, I would have liked to see more dining options nearby. Overall, my stay at the Novotel - Melbourne Central was a positive experience, and I would consider returning in the future. The hotel's balance of comfort, amenities, and location made for a pleasant one-night stay." Ratings: - Cleanliness: 4/5 - Comfort: 4/5 - Staff: 4/5 - Amenities: 3.5/5 - Location: 4/5 - Value: 4/5

I had a comfortable stay at Novotel Melbourne Central. The hotel is clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The room was quiet and I couldn’t hear other guests at all, which made for a peaceful stay. The central location is excellent, making it easy to explore the city on foot or catch public transport to other areas. One thing to note is the open-air bathroom layout. This wasn’t an issue for me, but it may not suit everyone. Overall, a very comfortable and convenient stay, and I would happily return.

I had a very bad experience at this hotel. When I checked in early around 2pm, I went up to my room and after only about ten minutes I received a strange phone call. A man asked if I was reception, then kept asking questions about the hotel and my room, before suddenly suggesting to have a coffee together. Feeling unsafe, I immediately hung up and went to reception to report it. The staff said they would look into it and update me. Hours later, the manager spoke with me but there was no sincere apology, no empathy, no professionalism. She only said the hotel could move me to another room. On top of that, I was told to personally bring the old room keys down to reception myself. Forcing a guest who already feels unsafe to pack up and move rooms by themselves is unacceptable, especially in a 4-star hotel. The next day, another manager came to speak with us and offered socks and chocolates as an apology. This was insulting. I was never asking for money or compensation. What I expected was professionalism, accountability, and reassurance that the hotel cared about guest safety. Instead, I was left feeling unsafe, frustrated, and completely disappointed. If this is the standard of service for a Novotel, I will never stay here again, nor at any Novotel worldwide.

We stayed two nights at the Novotel Melbourne Central. The room was absolutely spotless. There is a mini bar in the room, which was a nice surprise. They have a restaurant called the Pretty Boy Bar & Restaurant located at the hotel. They even offer room service! They offer slippers, razors, dental kits, shower caps, combs, sanitary bags & vanity bags all upon request if needed. They offer breakfast, luggage storage, as well as free WiFi. There’s a 24 hour gym as well. We were on the 33rd floor, and the view was fantastic. The room was also silent. We never heard anyone above or beside us! The reception staff were so sweet and accommodating. They offer valet parking for a fee. Weekdays are priced at $70 and weekends are $80. If we ever find ourselves back in Melbourne, we would definitely stay here again!

Just had 4 nights at this centrally located hotel. Although the rooms was slightly smaller than I am used to it was another welcoming stay. Breakfast was very well presented and good choices of foods. Staff were friendly and accommodating to any requests. The location is very central to the main shopping centres and close to a number of fine restaurants , would definitely recommend trying this hotel for your next Melbourne stay. John Batchler

We had a wonderful experience staying at Novotel, and what truly made it memorable was the outstanding service from the staff—especially Juan and the night manager. Juan helped us locate some items we had misplaced in the room. He handled the situation with efficiency and genuine kindness, all while wearing a warm, reassuring smile that made us feel truly cared for. The night manager was also incredibly attentive. He ensured our comfort late in the evening by promptly arranging for slippers and a dental kit to be sent to our room without us even needing to follow up. It’s rare to see such dedication to guest satisfaction. Thanks to the professional service from the team, our stay was smooth, comfortable, and far more personal than we expected. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Beautifully appointed hotel and room. Very comfortable sleep, quiet up on the 32nd floor. Much larger room than expected for the price, with a great view of the city as well. Can't beat the location, walking distance to anything in the CBD, and close to the tram as well. Staff was very polite and friendly. I showed up at 10am but the room was not ready yet. There was enough seating in the lobby to wait. Got the room around noon instead. Elevators are extremely fast except that one time when 30 international students lined up to go up. One thing to note, Novotel and Ibis share the same concierge and entrance but have separate elevators.
