Pretty average. The room smelled really damp and everything was falling off - the toilet paper roll holder, the cupboard handles. I really didn’t care too much because I’m not really fussy. As the reviews state - it really needs an upgrade. The reception on the tv was bad. The staff were fine and the breakfast was very good. The food at the restaurant was average but acceptable. The grounds around the hotel are very pretty. Overall, not great considering the price but it’s acceptable. Not Novotel standards in a Western country

The only good things about this ,staff were so nice and polite. Rooms are dark , no proper lights . I believe since last 50 years they have not upgraded or renovated the building . Our bathroom door was slide and broken . We couldn’t close it when we were in the bathroom. We stayed 5 days and room services only put twice toilet paper they wanted to be fully finished then . No toilet brushes in the bathroom, no rubbish bin in the room. No kids spot for swimming room . We paid for breakfast but buffet was not in hotel standards at all . A few times I went to get fruit and none left . They didn’t bring more fruit . Empty tray till the end of the breakfast . I had to go buy cheese from supermarket to take it with me . Beds are very bouncy we came back home with sore backs. This is not in hotel standards at all . One star ⭐️ only and that’s just for staff kindness

I stayed here several years ago and it was interesting to see the changes at the hotel. The hotel and the rooms are a tad tired and could do with a refit but the rooms are very clean and comfortable. |The big change has been with the food offer. The restaurant food is now very good and it was a pleasure to eat there. The breakfast offer has also greatly improved. As before, the staff are still friendly and welcoming.

The guy who welcome us is very nice. When we came to the reception they said our booking was loaded in the old system and we had to wait one hour at the reception until they transfer our booking into the new system. The room is very smelly. Only two towels for four people. Body wash is not filled. Air con was not working. Not maintain well. No floaters for the poop. No smile faces at the restaurant. People are not happily working here we feel. No good hospitality. The surrounding and the location is nice. You have to pay $2.00 for pool table. No equipment for table tennis table. When call reception the answer is always no for everything. This is the fourth place we stay in our Fiji trip. We do not recommend this hotel for a family with kids who need comfort and safety compared to grown up kids. The staff is exhausted and feel bad of them as they missed their smile. Highly disappointed ☹️

The hotel was welcoming. Although they took a hold of $600 aud which I thought was a bit extreme which I am still waiting for. The food for breakfast was okay, gym needs an upgrade. overall hotel is to old and needs an update not really worth the price tag.

They've upgraded the rooms. Gone are the old kitchenettes.....in some nice spacious fittings. New mini fridge. Looks really nice. But here's the problem. The fittings are installed by amateurs so they fall off. The toiler roll holder slopes down so you have to pick it off the floor every time you need a dump. The hot water is never hot. You have to run it 15 minutes in the shower to get a warm-ish temperature. The bath does get warm water more quickly and you're going to say well why not fill up the bath? And you'd be spot on. If there was a plug for the tub. And the mattress is so thin and bouncy you're sleeping on a trampoline. All they needed to do was spend a little extra money to justify the higher nightly pricing but no. And even the TVs don't have Google cast. Such a shame.

Good enough for a night to transition to an island resort. Close to the airport and on the list for transfers to the sea cruise ferries. The hotel is a bit run down but was very clean. Food was great but took almost an hour (not great when you have two small hungry kids). Pool isn’t kid friendly but great for adults. Staff were friendly but not as friendly as some of the other places we’ve stayed in Fiji.

My husband and I like a nice hotel so for the last night's stay in Fiji close to the airport we chose the Novatel. From the outside this looks lush. The story from the inside is the opposite. The room smelled terrible. We weren't moved. We didn't sleep well. This is a clear case of someone making a lot of money out of travellers without putting anything into the upkeep. Disgusting is all I have to say here. And when asked if we slept well we said no, and the other couple at the counter said "same here" and they didn't look happy either! We would never go back to this hotel. We feel very sorry for the staff who have to work here with obviously very few resources to do their jobs.
