Staff are always friendly at Novotel. Person to person service is good, the rooms (having stayed in rooms standard to executive) are tired, bathrooms in particular with tiles and grouting looking very much in need of an upgrade. The couches are worn and stained and the air conditioning units appear to need filter cleaning. The location is good (key factor) and as mentioned, my opinion is the staff service is the key factor also in a positive sense.

We stayed at the Novotel for 3 nights after a disappointing experience at another resort—and honestly, we wished we had booked all 6 nights here instead. While the building is older and could use a bit of maintenance, everything else more than made up for it. The facilities were great—we enjoyed tennis, pool, the golf course and the gym, all of which were in excellent condition. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure with plenty of hot water throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet was excellent, though the restaurant’s regular menu could use some improvement. Most of all, the staff were absolutely wonderful—so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They truly made our stay special.

This hotel is old and tired and definitely not up to the standard of the Novotel brand. While the property was basically clean, it is in desperate need of a refresh. ||||On arrival we were greeted by a receptionist who was not warm or welcoming. Not a good first impression. The path to our room was poorl lit.||||Our room was a good size and had a balcony furnished with a table and just one chair. The bathroom was mouldy and tired and in need of a good scrub.||||The breakfast buffet was just okay. We were there a good hour and a half before end of service and some of the warming dishes were empty, or close to empty.||||We had dinner at the restaurant and one of our two meals was inedible due to the extreme amount of chilli. When we went to pay for our meal we were told we could not pay in cash, although at no time did we see any information to indicate this was the case. What's more, throughout the discussion about this issue, one of the staff members who had gathered around to watch, kept laughing and smirking at us. Very unprofessional.||||Would I stay again? No. This hotel needs some work to bring it up to Novotel standard. It is little more than the old Mocambo it was.

The Welcome of Staff were great and very helpful. Rooms are tired and need a total face-lift. Lights were so dim and dark. The 24/7 security was comforting. The range of food for breakfast and lunch were very nice. Downfall their taxi services were very expensive.

Lovely staff. Comfy beds and rooms. Fabulous breakfast, nice restaurant, and pool. Walking distance to nearby shops and places to eat. Easy to taxi to airport or other shops or restaurants. I love the history of this hotel. We stayed here 30 years ago with our family as teenagers and now came back to meet up again as adult siblings and partners with grownup children. Stayed a full week here and loved it. The beauty spa, the views of mountains, the gardens and again the people are most delightful. This is real fiji, not a distant expensive fake resort hotel. Exactly what we wanted. We will return again. Thanks so much!

The hotel is in serious need of a complete renovation. The floors are worn out, furniture and fittings are outdated and poorly maintained, and the cleanliness is lacking — I even found a moth in the bathroom and frogs around the property. There’s very limited staff, though the few present are friendly and helpful. Basic amenities like body lotion, conditioner, toothbrush, and toothpaste were not provided. Breakfast was underwhelming with the same limited options every day, which became monotonous. Lunch and dinner were bland and significantly overpriced compared to other places in Fiji. Even the coffee at breakfast was watered down with no option for a decent barista-made coffee. Aside from the pleasant staff and the good location, there’s nothing remarkable about the hotel. The flooring is coming apart, the pool is very basic — similar to what you’d find in a residential complex — and there are no on-site activities offered. Overall, it feels more like a basic motel than a resort. I would recommend exploring other accommodations. Felt like we wasted our money.

I had an amazing stay. Staff treated me like family. When I requested changing rooms due to the initial room being too dark they accommodated my request and even upgraded my room, the second room was amazing! Thank you everybody and looking forward to drinking some kava together again. Filipe

We asked for extra blankets, since I was feeling quite severely sick upon checking in. First time we asked was when we checked in at around 4pm, as I had told them I was ill. Then again we called from the room at around 6pm, still nothing. 3rd time, we told the front desk attendee in person around dinner time at 7pm. Nothing. At last, they called our room at 11.39pm to ask if we still required extra blankets. We were not happy with how a simple request was handled.
