Located near the main beach & a short walk to lots of cafe’s & restaurants. We had a room with a harbour view. The reception staff was fabulous, he offered us a shower chair and walker for my husband, which arrived before we got into the room. Restaurant staff were fabulous making sure a table was accessible for us to sit at with a mobility scooter. Hotel is located in a quiet area near the main beach which could be accessed from an accessible lift at the end of the road. The fabulously wide footpath that winds around the coast & beach made it a perfect place to move around on a mobility scooter.

Awesome value hotel! Brandon was very helpful from the checkin moment. He offered superior hospitality during our stay! The hotel is only moments away from the beach so really enjoyed our stay!

On booking the highest room rate for being able to cancel accommodation was quoted. This nearly made me book elsewhere. It was only when I asked if anything cheaper I was then given a lower rate, very sneaky I thought. We have stayed at many Novotels and would have to say not that impressed. It was very clean and had everything in place to be amazing but needs the warmth and genuine greeting of most others

Room smelt musty, vanity sink plug kept closing causing sink to always fill. Quilt in between sheets was yellow (no actual quilt cover). Carpark basement stunk of sewerage. On our last day the reception area stunk as well of the same sewer smell. Buffet breakfast was short staffed every day - delay in food items being replaced. I would like to say it's overpriced, but that doesn't even justify the poor maintenance. The close proximity to the beach is the only positive. There are much nicer hotels in the CBD which are a very short drive to the beach.

Visited the east end hub Cafe restaurant for a delightful coffee accompanied by what can only be described as an amazingly delicious gfa Black Forest ham, cheese and chilli jam toasting. This was one to write home about. I have had nothing in the past to compare with it. The service and bonhomie were delightful. We will be coming back! Oh yes, and the table afforded a view down to Newcastle Beach too...

Had a 1 night stay here with a mate. Staff were friendly and quickly changed our room when we discovered the original had been smoked in. Continental breakfast was modest but price was okay, would probably try a nearby cafe next time. |Underground car parking was great. |Location is handy to the beach and saltwater pools, though most restaurants seemed to be along the boardwalk of the inner harbour (refer Honeysuckle pub and nearby area). |The nearby Rustica restaurant is highly recommended. |Only thing to improve the room is to install proper blackout curtains. |I would stay here again, especially for a beach holiday. If in Newcastle for work or you want a bit more social atmosphere I would probably try one on the Harbourside

3 stars as that was due to friendly Reception staff. For the cost of a Harbour view room, which was mostly looking at other buildings and an extra$30 a day for parking it is not worth the money. Cleanliness in the room was non existent! The bathroom smelt like a sewerage plant and nothing was clean. No toilet brush to clean with! They do provide a kettle and some very basic tea and coffee but not even complimentary biscuits!. Have stayed in 3 star motels which were far superior. Expected more from the Novotel.

Easy to access the hotel underground car park. Reception access very good from car park. Reception very friendly helpful and welcoming. Very comfortable and attractive foyer. My room was a king for a solo traveller, room 322. Pretty well perfect. Spacious, tea and coffee, milk in fridge, big well appointed bathroom. Wonderful shower and very nice towels and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. A comfy sofa bed, chair and desk. Tv worked well and is well placed. Bed super comfy, crisp white linen. Air con was a dream on a 40 degree day. Easily adjusted too. And the hotel is wonderfully quiet. Restaurant evening meal was delicious and staff are exceptional , we were late diners but they were so helpful and efficient. Breakfast delicious. Continental or full hot breakfast excellent range for every taste. One night was not enough here. The beach is virtually across the road. Cafes and restaurants close by.
