On booking the highest room rate for being able to cancel accommodation was quoted. This nearly made me book elsewhere. It was only when I asked if anything cheaper I was then given a lower rate, very sneaky I thought. We have stayed at many Novotels and would have to say not that impressed. It was very clean and had everything in place to be amazing but needs the warmth and genuine greeting of most others

Had a 1 night stay here with a mate. Staff were friendly and quickly changed our room when we discovered the original had been smoked in. Continental breakfast was modest but price was okay, would probably try a nearby cafe next time. |Underground car parking was great. |Location is handy to the beach and saltwater pools, though most restaurants seemed to be along the boardwalk of the inner harbour (refer Honeysuckle pub and nearby area). |The nearby Rustica restaurant is highly recommended. |Only thing to improve the room is to install proper blackout curtains. |I would stay here again, especially for a beach holiday. If in Newcastle for work or you want a bit more social atmosphere I would probably try one on the Harbourside

Staff friendly. Rooms average. Remote broken. Lift not working properly. Us along with other guests kept getting stuck. $30 parking a ripoff. Bar/restaurant staff were LOVELY but under a lot of pressure and coped very well. Breakfast terrible. Old dry bacon. Rock hard poached eggs. Discount juices full of sugar (bottles left on the counter so we could see the brands). The bread offering was good and the hash browns are well done but that's about it. We've stayed at Novotel all over Australia and New Zealand and this was hands down the very very worst.

This is a chain of hotels so my stay was as I expected it, having stayed at a number of other hotel chains, previously.||There's secure underground parking and the lifts work well, thankfully! I was checked in by a very pleasant chap who, also, provided me with 2 bottles of water along with my room key cards.||The double room was large and clean, enough and the chap at the desk pointed me towards the beach as to where to go for a walk.||To say the beach was stunning would do it an injustice! I thought it was the one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever visited and rivals that of Kuala Lumpur and a beach resort I had stayed in, in the USA.||It was not that busy and only a few minutes walk from this venue so would have been very handy but we ran out of time and had to head back where we walked in the 'other direction' and found a venue for dinner.||The room was very quiet and, despite there being a conference of some sort with a lot of those attending staying in the hotel, I didn't really hear much from them other than the clamour in the morning at breakfast.||It was the usual fare of bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, etc. but the coffee machine produced a good flat white and the wife enjoyed some fresh pancakes.||Checking out was easy and involved handing over the room key cards and then getting on the lift to our car and we were on our way, with some more bottled water given to us by the Receptionist!

Looks like the spa has been out of action for a while, but nothing about it when booking through the Accor website (annoyingly, when I raised this I just let getting “thanks for your feedback” but they don’t know when it will be fixed) Other than that, great location, average room, average breakfast. Mercure standard at Novotel prices. Won’t be back

A reliable hotel chain delivers a reliable service. Modern comfortable rooms with a comfortable bed. Sheets and room and bathrooms cleaned very well, although not perfectly. Parking is $35 a night, or park on the street. Breakfast is $30 and room service fee is $5 but the local city offers other options. Well located for a restful night sleep - very central, close to beach and cafes, but I found it quiet even on a Sat night. Recommend as a solid option.

Loved your hotel - clean, well care for and the staff amazing. We enjoyed dinner at the bistro every night - send many thanks to the chef (Tish/Trish) we enjoyed the food and variety offered. The location near the tram stops and the beach and the amazing walks are a great addition.

Best location for a nice hotel at Newcastle. Plenty of restaurants surrounding this hotel. Walking distance to beautiful Newcastle beach & beach walk areas. Room is spacious & clean. Everything is nice, except the stainless steel water kettle in the room was dirty inside & outside.
