Where to Stay in Paris (Updated 2025)

"I appreciated this comfortable, business-style chain hotel for its modern bright rooms, large walk-in showers, memory foam mattresses, and the free coffee and tea; it’s family-friendly (staff even make balloon animals for kids)." - Matthew Kepnes

It was my first time in Paris and wanted my time to be special and memorable. My experience at the Novotel was everything I wanted it to be. The receptionist who checked me in was very sweet and the bar staff were lovely. The breakfast was delicious and had lots of variety. The room was beautiful and very cozy. I had a great stay and would definitely recommend to my friends and family if they are visiting Paris. The location was great too.

Great location, walking distance to train, metro and store. Excellent customer service, they mailed something for me, lent me an umbrella and helped with transportation questions. Very good food and Rituals bath products. 3 kind of Waters dispenser and no plastic bottles.

I had the pleasure to enjoy a night in this fabulous Novotel and everything is my stay was memorable. Reception staff was fantastic, special thank you to Hugo and Julien for the efficient and enthusiastic check in. The breakfast buffet is delicious- so many savoury and sweet options!! The free mini bar is the room is the cherry on the top. I will definitely be back soon, thank you all for this amazing work you are putting in this hotel.

All the staff were friendly & helpful. Gabriel at reception looked after us so well, lovely young man. We had great service from the breakfast staff especially Maria & Mondjomo. The evening restaurant staff were wonderful (sorry I don’t remember their names) excellent service. The rooms were clean & well serviced & the beds were super comfortable. Easy access to the Gare & we felt safe walking in the area.

****Do Not Book***** the website is a complete lie- the rooms are like college dorm rooms- i asked for an upgrade after realizing it and i was 100 percent willing to pay for it and they said no even at a price not tonight or any night of our 7 night stay. instead of saying if anyone cancels or changes wed be happy to call you to make the change. the beds are hard as cots, the pillows chintzy cheap, there isn’t even a closet, just a place to put your coats. With all the amazing places to stay in this city this is a hard no, run never book - their pics are misleading and the room size is a small a print as the room itself- photo of our luggage all over the place bc there is no closet or space to put anything so now living out of luggages for 7nights - to make matters worse i took a nap w my son only to wake up to have housekeeping a man 6ft tall in my room without notice making the pop up couch. he said he knocked and obviously didn’t hear bc we were sleeping and he continued to stay there making the bed with me here. then when i addressed the matter with front desk they were line he knocked!!! i mean it’s insane - their logic was he knocked and im like listen i dont care if he knocked or didn’t accidents happen but he continued to come into a room with a guest in the room and a child without permission bc he had to make a bed which i didnt ask to be made. i have travelled the world and the arrongance to which they find this to be excusable is a first for me. i wish we could get our money back for our future nights and leave immediately- but we pre paid and feel held hostage by this terrible hotel. and if someone is allowed to just barge into your room uninvited security is even more concerning. the way management has handled this with us, our travel party and even our credit card travel group has been like nothing we have ever seen.

I was happy to stay at this hotel, as previously I had stayed at a Novotel in Cergy in Paris. I would describe this one as adequate rather than amazing.|First the good points.|Staff charming and unswervingly helpful. |Check in and check out was smooth and efficient.|Room well appointed and comfortable. Best part of the room was the bed. I slept like the proverbial log.|Reasonably well located. We found a bus rank around the corner which served the main areas. Tip is to get a NAVIGO card. Available at any metro station. |The noise levels were normal. |Breakfast was decent. One cool point was you could fry your own eggs or omelette. Normally when I go to such places the fried eggs are like rubber.|Bar had a decent selection of both soft and alcoholic drinks.|Now for the bad bits.|It is in a bit of a run down area. We saw lots of boarded up buildings and numerous people sleeping rough. |Don't bother with the evening meal there. Very poor selection. Not what you expect from the French.|View from the room was of a series of tower blocks.|Prices quite steep. But this is Paris.|While adequate, if I return to Paris I will pay more and stay in a better place.

Overall, Novotel was a good hotel. The staff were excellent – professional, welcoming, and attentive. The check-in and check-out process was seamless, and the location was very convenient, especially with easy access to public transportation.||That said, the cleanliness of the rooms needs improvement. The bathroom showers had visible black mold, which suggests an underlying issue that hasn’t been addressed for some time. The bathroom sink is missing a drain plug- no one wants to brush their teeth staring down a drain. Additionally, the carpets in the rooms were dirty. While carpet can add comfort, I don’t think it’s practical in high-traffic hotel areas since it becomes dirty quickly and is difficult to maintain.||If the hotel can address these cleanliness concerns, it would significantly elevate the overall guest experience.

Google
Room was large, modern and clean. Water pressure is very low, had problems flushing the toilet. Breakfast was good quality, but it would be better if chef can fry some eggs, warm the waffles and pancakes so we can choose these instead of the waiting for everyone to fry their own eggs or wait in long queues for the waffle maker. There were some cobwebs in the breakfast area. The hotel was a bit difficult to find, a good walk but not too far. All staff were welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
The hotel was situated perfectly within a five minute walk from the subway system and walking distance to endless restaurants, cafes and bars. The staff bent over backwards to assist our checkin with providing fans for our rooms since no central a/c this time of year. Loved lobby bar in the hotel which is open late and make strong drinks. The Halle Quatre restaurant is open until 10pm each night and has an amazing breakfast buffet that opens at 630am, but get there early since it gets crazy packed around 9am. They provided free umbrellas during those wet days in Paris. Uber rides were quick in front of the hotel. Check out was a simple process with no hidden fees. Location and hospitality were excellent and would stay here again.

Yelp
Great hotel centrally located near everything we needed to be near. Upon entering the room, I looked for the AC unit because it seemed a little warm. Not being able to locate a thermometer setting for cool air I went downstairs to ask about this. I was told there was no cooling unit for the rooms. Unhappy, but willing to deal with it because we loved the downstairs bar area and restaurant. They immediately offered us a fan which we took to the room and turned on facing the bed and had to leave the windows open at night so we didn't sweat. We had wonderful drinks at the bar in the lobby as well as appetizers. The breakfast buffet in the morning was delicious and plentiful. All in all, it ended up being a nice experience, but please do expect to sweat during the hotter months if you stay.

Yelp
We stayed at this location during our visit to paris, This place had the accommodation for 4 people with breakfast included. Price is definitely high but in a closer distance to the train station. If you are planning to take Uber to the eiffel Tower, it will cost between twelve two twenty euros. The neighborhood is good with a lot of restaurants in walking distance and also a grocery store nearby. The hotel also has a restaurant and a bar which is good. There are water filling stations available, so you don't have to worry about buying water. The rooms are not that specious for a people of 4, especially additinal beds provided. It's not good. It creaks a lot. The shower has a good water flow and hot. All other accessories like iron, hair dryer, everything was handy. The room was maintained every day, and the new towels are kept, which is great. One good thing about this hotel is the buffet, They have a huge buffet, pre made crepes, and waffles fresh to make eggs in addition to plenty of buffet options. We enjoyed the buffet doing our stay here. It's probably the best buffet we had in all other novotel. The air condition in the room sucks. It's not a great value for the money, but for the location, you get the benefit.

Yelp
Great experience staying here! Super friendly service, super clean, unlimited free water, fast hot water, great view of Eiffel Tower on the street right outside the hotel. A lot of amazing restaurants and pharmacy stores nearby. Close to all kinds of transportation. Private parking garage available.

Yelp
Stayed in this Hotel a couple weeks back, the location is great. Very close to Metro station. The rooms are on the larger size for Europe even for a group of 3. The hotel staff was kind and courteous, giving extra coffee and towels as needed. Great value place to stay.

Yelp
Great hotel to stay at. It was very clean and modernized. Stayed here for four nights and I liked that you couldn't hear anything outside your room. It was very quiet. It was pretty spacious too. With three 23 year old girls we need a lot of room to through our clothes around. The Toilet room and the Bath room were separate which is kinda odd to us Americans, but it actually worked out in our favor. The bar is reasonably priced. I would highly recommend getting your breakfast at the bar in the morning. For around €5 you get a crossiant, yogurt, and coffee or orange juice. The location is I'd say more like a 3 1/2. Not too much around except for a few cafés within walking distance. The Metro is like a 7 minute walk which makes it very convenient.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Staff completely unhelpful. Booked this room as the hotel boasts having air conditioning in all rooms. Got a room that is over 85 degrees inside for me, my husband and 2 kids, one who is asthmatic. The temperature outside is over 95 degrees so opening a window is not an option. Told the staff the issue upon check in at 3:30 and said they would send someone. Got back to room at 11:30 pm, no one came by and when we went back down, only option was to wait till the next day to see if anything became available but no promises could be made in respect. We had to beg for a fan which they finally gave us begrudgingly. While I am not French, I do understand quite a bit and had to hear them ridicule me as I walked away for being American! Ridiculous and completely blown away I have to deal with this for 2 nights.

Yelp
I hate to do reviews like this but it's simple the maids will steal anything that looks good to them and I had two small but good looking souvenirs and pastries and they were all taken from my room. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL it is UNSECURED!

Yelp
Executive suite with a sofa bed? The beds cover 90% of the room, the toilet room is the size of the airplane bathroom, you have to enter the shower at an angle and not move a lot due the size of the shower. Don't get fooled with the description and the pictures on the websites. The hotel is not well kept, the room was extremely dusty. I booked on Expedia, when I asked for a cancellation they rudely said no and the reaction was "We don't care if the description on the websites are misleading". The location is terrible, far from everything, you will spend a lot of money getting out of the neighborhood. Expedia did not stand behind their customer service promise either. Worst 6 night stay by far.

Yelp
Good hotel, away from the attractions so you can explore paris without the mob of tourists. It is a bit of a walk to the sites but the metro and train system are easy to use. Only complaint is the food section of the hotel. Service was extremely slow we actually left the restaurant after waiting 20 Minutes to be seated in an empty restaurant and then 20 Minutes more before anyone came by. Definitely recommend this hotel but go else where for food and drink.

Yelp
This is a good hotel with excellent rooms and very good service. Next to the train station with out the noise of the train. Walking distance to mom and pop style restraints where you can get the best deals on food walking distance to most of the land marks

Yelp
Was looking for an affordable hotel in Paris and Novotel did not disappoint. It is a bit of a walk to the sites (almost 2 miles to the Eiffel Tour) but we didn't mind. The train station is close and there are lots of good, local restaurants nearby. The room was clean and big enough for 3 of us. The breakfast was very nice. Special thanks to Sabrina who stopped to let us know the breakfast would be closing down shortly. When my mom inquired about a pastry, Sabrina quickly returned with 2 for her. So sweet!

Yelp
Room comfortable modern and very well designed bed a little soft. Breakfast full of sugar even on fresh food full of oil greasy odor on my clothe after breakfast terrible smell in the room because of the pulsed air. Bad quality price ratio

Melissa M.

Yelp
Service was ok, but they put ~$50 of charges on our bill for breakfasts we did not get; they took it off once we pointed it out. The room was clean, but shower was a little annoying since door seal wasn't tight it kept leaking a lot of water onto the floor. There was also a gap around the top of sink that resulted in water spilling onto the shelf below, where I was storing some of our personal belongings (thankfully, nothing was damaged). It was also unfortunate that we had to evacuate at 2am one night due to someone taking too long of a shower and resulting steam setting off fire alarm.
