Novotel Semarang

We stayed with family and received excellent service. The staff were friendly and helpful. We encountered a problem with our connecting room reservation, but management provided a prompt solution. The room facilities are quite good, although the interior is classic. Hopefully, they will be renovated with a newer interior design in the future. The elevator also appears old, so it needs to be monitored for its suitability and safety. The restaurant's food is also delicious, but the main courses could be more varied.

I had an amazing time at this pool! The place was very clean, the water crystal clear, and the atmosphere incredibly relaxing. The staff Mr. Risti were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help — truly making the experience memorable.||The pool area was well-maintained, with plenty of comfortable seating and fresh towels available. I also appreciated how organized everything was, from check-in to service. Whether you’re coming for a quick swim or a full day to unwind, this place delivers comfort and quality.

A unique experience and I would like to repeat it. The hotel in general is very good, very complete and with good facilities. The Citrus restaurant has an unbeatable atmosphere. The employees are very friendly with the customer, they make you feel at home, especially many thanks to Indah and Ale for their love and care. I would repeat it without a doubt. THANK YOU.

Hmmm...old hotel and I felt that it is not that well maintained. The room was huge and the bed was decent, yet there was only one set of slippers when there are 2 guests. Bathroom is old and should be maintained more. Service was standard. The most disappointing part was the taste of some food in the breakfast area. They could seriously do better for a class of Novotel and Semarang.

During my recent stay at the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by the combination of a beautifully designed and comfortable room that provided a perfect retreat after a long day, the convenient and ample parking that made accessing the hotel a breeze, and the outstanding facilities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center, a serene pool area, and a delightful on-site restaurant, all of which came together to create an exceptional experience that exceeded my expectations.

First of all, the hotel location is very strategic, just walking distance from malls (Paragon & DP Mall) and Lawang Sewu. There's also legendary bakmi jawa place right next door. However, the hotel is quite old (opened in 2005) with very much minor changes throughout its interior. The hallways carpet is dusty and while staying here, couldn't hear and see staffs vacuuming the hallway carpet The room itself is very spacious and IMO it can fit even a California King sized bed but they opt for Queen bed for all of their rooms which is waste of space. Also, the room is quite old, with Tv dating back from 2009 (no smart TV) and in dire need of full Reno to keep up with current standard. However, one good thing is that they've upgraded their WiFi (20 mbps) with WiFi 6 protocol, its quite good for streaming. Another unfortunate thing is the breakfast service. The choices is very limited and its not a 4 star rated hotel breakfast. Sorry to say but I've tasted better breakfast in a 3 star hotel in Bandung on the same group (Accor). Big disappointment in this department. However they rotated some of their menu daily which is good. I also noted some unexplained smoke (cigarettes) smell on the hallway even at the non smoking floor, which can be bothersome since I'm vacationing with my child and wife. TLDR: very strategic old hotel with very spacious rooms but outdated and in dire need of renovation.

The pros of this hotel are location as it's very strategic, and value for money. Room is acceptable and large. But unfortunately with that edge, the rest are mediocre. Parking are issues as most older hotels, you will not get any parking slots if arriving there late, eg. 9pm and above. I found the staffs and SOP are also quite clumsy compared to other starred (and branded) hotels. They are less ready, maybe lack of staffs, as evening services getting delayed or unavailable, or sounds like a trainee. The hotel and its rooms are old and ok. As an old (novotel) hotel, it is actually quite good compared to the other older (novotel) hotels. Amenities when i stayed are smelly (ie. Towels). Feels like using laundry service for a 2 stars hotel (lingering sweat smell).
