First off, I am an Accor Gold customer. I love their hotels as they offer a consistently good product. This Novotel did not meet that standard, certainly not that of a 4 star hotel.
At check-in, the host charged us for the parking but did not give any information on how to use the gate to enter or leave. We had to figure it out ourselves the next day when another host was kind enough to help us. That other host was also surprised to learn that we didn't get the Thalassa water bottles that every other guest received on check-in.
We had just gotten in from a 12 hour flight, and hour train ride from Reims, and a 2.5 hour car trip. It was 11pm and I was eager
to take a shower. There was zero soap in the shower soap bottle and zero body lotion. It was late and decided to tell the front desk the next day. When they were informed, they just shrugged and said they would take care of it. We got the soap and not the lotion. The cleaning lady left her cigarettes in our room.
The room was not up to Novotel standards, very basic, composite wood flooring, no art, low quality furnishings - more like an Ibis hotel. And we paid extra for the sea view room. The windows leaked wind and sand. It is a great location, but the overall experience was not what we expect from Novotel. A disappointment!
