Novotel Wollongong Northbeach

Overall a very pleasant stay. Rooms were well maintained & clean & definitely worth the extra to book the ocean view or ocean view balcony rooms. The corridors and reception area however need an upgrade as it looks tired & worn. The North Bar was a great space for a drink & meeting friends. If possible only visit & stay during the weekday as the weekends are mayhem. All staff in general were attentive & friendly. The hotel is located in a great spot, especially if you are a beach lover. Otherwise great walks in the vicinity of the hotel with plenty of Cafes

Though only a very short stay, it was just lovely. We chose to use the parking facility, not expensive and easy to access. Great location, on the beach with lots to do. Online check-in was great. The interior of the hotel was immaculate very clean with a beautiful ambiance; staff extremely friendly. In particular, the room (with 2 queen beds) was very spacious, beds comfortable and very clean with views of the ocean. Very impressive.

Our second stay in 3 weeks, and we love the view from our room despite the rainy and foggy weather in Wollongong the past few days. The reception team are super helpful and friendly, and we’re happy to let us swap rooms to one set up with the beds having the view of the beach. We’ve ordered room service a couple of times and the meals and coffee were quite good. We had lunch at the bar downstairs near the lobby and the cocktails were delicious and strong, well worth the money. The wagyu burgers were delicious! Love staying here with my partner for a few days every now and then to have a break from household life and chores! Will be back!

We had a really good stay overall. The location was excellent, amenities were great, and breakfast was enjoyable. The woman at reception was very helpful, especially when assisting with our additional night’s booking, though it seemed there were some system-related issues. Service levels could be improved—our water jug took over two hours to arrive, and some other items we requested never came, so we ended up buying our own. There was no porter service available, which we had hoped for. With a few service improvements, this could easily be a top-notch experience.

I had the most wonderful room with a fabulous view. Lovely to watch the sunrise each morning. The room was ready for check in extremely early. This was a delightful surprise. Julie at Reception was very helpful, personable and professional. All Staff at North Bar and Housekeeping were friendly and helpful. It was a perfect stay.

Beautiful room and views however it too 3x requests to have the pull out bed made up. No microwave in the room. I paid $1300 for a no guarantee on the room I had booked and paid for. And $70 extra to pay for secure parking for my car.

Cannot fault anything at this Hotel. We had two queen double rooms with City Views for two nights and had a family discount on the second room. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I found my bed was too soft for my bad back and called reception at around 6pm. They immediately sent a friendly tradesperson up to flip the mattress and then housekeeping turned up with a smile to remake the bed. My bed was perfect after that. All the staff were so friendly and nice. Room service was stress free and the chicken salad was lovely. The buffet breakfast was lovely and there was no trouble getting a slightly later checkout. The pool was chilly but had a good set-up with lounge chairs etc and we quickly got used to the temperature. Location is perfect and the cockatoo that came to visit us at the window each day was a novelty. Couldn’t be happier with our stay.

This was our second stay at Novotel Wollongong. We stayed in a King suite which was ample in size. It had a balcony and The view is fabulous. The bed was super comfortable. The hotel is located across from the beach and a fabulous walkway. |We utilised the room service during our stay and found the prices is what we would pay if we went out. The only complaint I’d have about room service is that all we wanted was a toasted sandwich for lunch but the kitchen refused to do this, we really didn’t feel like a main meal for lunch. I paid over $1300 for 3 nights plus $118 in parking and I couldn’t get a toasted sandwich?

The hotel is clean, perfect location and a friendly staff. The food was not good. Not fresh.

Nice hotel, staff friendly and a great wine bar. Has an awesome wine sample paddle and great share dishes.

We stayed here for a wedding through Le Accor club membership in Jan '17. There were 3 on that same day. Check in was smooth with reception providing early check in and extra room keys with no hassle along with car parking for 3 days despite only booking 1 night and wifi included. The staff happily made sure the mimosas I ordered were sent up to the bridal suite and little touches such as rose petals and champagne were waiting in room for the happy couple after the reception. We paid for an ocean view upgrade which was lovely and there were cockatoos on the balcony during the day. It was also pretty cool to see the skydivers landing at the park across the way. Buffet breakfast in the morning had a fantastic selection and the cost was standard hotel prices although you do get a bit of an ocean view. Note they also had an enclosed kids play area in the lobby. Room facilities were nice and modern with nice toiletries. The shower pressure was great and hot hot water too. I will admit I got a bit stalker-ish trying to find the maker and type of bed used. It was so comfy I wanted 1 for home but they are custom made for that hotel. Some other guests complained about lack of parking. I did have noisy neighbors on the balcony at 5am which carried on but decided to go for a walk along the beach at sunrise. Would definitely recommend and stay again although I would book early as the rack rate is too rich for my blood.
