Stayed seven nights with my family of five, in a very spacious and comfortable traditional Japanese room. There is a well equipped shared kitchen and living area, which makes it easy to self-cater if you desire, as well as to socialise with fellow guests.
There are food options aplenty a short walk away in town, however an excellent okonomiyaki restaurant next door (suggest booking though)and a handy van across the road selling very tasty crispy chicken burgers and karaage. Food shops for self-catering are within easy reach.
Ski gear is easy to manage, with plenty of space for preparing and a drying room. With a well equipped hire shop two doors away, and a short walk to the Karasawa chairlift, the ski experience was seamless.
However the thing which really makes this place stand out is the dedication, thoughtfulness and efforts of the owner Kain, who is full of helpful advice and practical assistance, and very keen to ensure all his guests have a great time. Together with his staff, it is this personal touch and efforts which really make this place stand out.
