We are in a campervan so room quality is not relevant. As for the park itself it's nicely kept. We are in the top area that is pet friendly and the sites are not that level. We could not actually level our van. Merimbula is a beautiful spot and the park location is an easy 20 minute walk to the town center. It would be nice if the park has a small shop to buy the small items that you may have forgot.

We have a long history with Short Point. I first stayed there in a huge tent with family in January 1968 and, for the next 9 years, we were there. We've been to Merimbula intermittently ever since but graduated to holiday lets. The NRMA park and, specifically, the Beach House, featured on a TV show earlier this year so we booked it for 4 nights and then built a 20-day trip around those dates to include Lakes Entrance, Tathra (another NRMA Beach house), Canberra city, Jamala Wildlife Lodge, Batemans Bay, Merimbula and Paynesville.|Whereas there are several Beach Houses at NRMA Tathra, there is only one at the NRMA park at Merimbula. It's in a prime position, closest to the beach, with an uninterrupted view along the beach to the Tura headland. However, it's also closest to the road and can be quite noisy. The traffic down to the beach car park starts at around 5.30am and is pretty constant from then until well after dark. We sort of got used to it but couldn't work out what the big attraction was unless the coffee truck at the car park has the best coffee on the Sapphire Coast. The Beach House is also closest to the other park, Beach Cabins Merimbula and both parks seemed to do daily whipper snippering and leaf blowing.|The Beach House is quite comfortable, clean and well appointed. It has 3 TVs but, oddly, 2 very small ones are housed in the wardrobes of bedrooms so you open the wardrobe door and and watch TV from the bed. We took a walk around the park to look at the range of accommodation options and those on the clifftop seemed to be the quietest and most private (including The Escape and The Point).|During our stay, we ate at Wheelers (Pambula), Bar Monti and Tidal (reviewed separately).

Not a bad place to stay, but you really need a car if you’re staying here due to the lack of available transport into Merimbula town. There is only one driver in town, so he does get busy. We were lucky enough to be able to have him help us out, or it wouldn’t have been much fun. There are some lovely walks close by to beaches such as bar beach. The park has 250 van sites and 100 cabins, so it’s huge. Wouldn’t want to be here in the height of summer!

Booked a grass powered site for 7 nights. Arrived to an allocated site which was very worn down/dusty. Plenty of other sites so I asked if we could be moved to a site opposite that had an ocean view (same cost) or the adjacent site that had grass. Receptionist tapped away on the computer and conceded we could move to the adjacent site but not the site with a view as “it is very popular”. Ok. I asked if we could have the view for a few nights as we can easily move. No. Not possible. However for our entire 7 nights nobody was booked in the site with a view. What gives?? Was it because they had friends or family staying on the cabin next door and didn’t want to disturb them with a mere customer? Also agree with previous reviewers about the vibe and tone of the management staff: low level aggressive

My family and I came here twice over the past 2 years. This place is very good if you're looking for somewhere to have fun and just a great time in general. I really recommend going to the waterfront cafe for breakfast sometime if you're staying here. The pools, waterparks, go karts, arcade, playground and tennis courts are all amazing. Even if you just get a morning coffee and head down to the beach that's an amazing experience in itself. I really recommend this place. 😄

Whilst the location and park facilities are great, we were very disappointed with the condition of the cabin we booked: 1. Entered a clean looking but smelly cabin 2. Bunk beds had really hard mattresses that made sleeping uncomfortable especially when one of my sons woke to ants in his bunk the first morning and then resorted to sleeping on the couch! 3. Main bed was made up with sheets but the bunk beds just had the sheets and towels dumped on the mattresses for us to make 4. Cabin had peeling paint and laminex all over- desperately in need of an upgrade. Interior cabinetry looks about 30 years old and there is one small TV in the cabin 5. No dishwasher which I normally wouldn't care too much about but at this price point, I would expect one! We have had dishwashers in places where we've paid only $400 per night peak season 6. Our "ocean view" cabin actually came with what I would more appropriately call "ocean glimpses" 7. The cabin is so sparsely equipped, they don't even supply pegs for their own clothes lines! As a former experienced travel agent and someone who still travels regularly for business and pleasure, I can honestly say that at $659 per night, this place is the worst value accommodation I've ever experienced

Having never| A. Being to Australia before |B. Never stayed in campsite before ||I was ready impressed with the little cabin I managed to book, thanks to husband’s cousin who lives in Melbourne and has stayed at this location before. |Although the cabin is well maintained and well equipped it’s not very dark at night. |The washer is easy enough to use, but the dryer is for some reason on the top of the washer but upside down??|The site itself is dark in the evening, great no light pollution but very funny when coming back from being out for a meal and you can’t find your cabin 😂

Beautiful setting for a caravan park. Very clean bathroom facilities, ample children play amenities and spacious camping and van sites.
