The level of incompetence here is on another level they are utterly useless and lack any sort of management. After ordering soft eggs and getting rock hard - I then get soft but essentially uncooked. Everyone stands looking around like they’re confused. Coffee arrived after food and was cold. I will walk instead of ordering at this mess in future. Complete garbage

Ordered a Caesar Salad and it was EXTREMELY dry. I asked for more dressing and said it will be charged for. There is barely any Parmesan in this salad and the portion might as well be on a side plate. Also note the cheap brown bread used as crotons 🤣 What a waste of money, seriously.

I think many of the negative reviews are quite unfair. I’ve been coming here for almost three years and eat here every time I’m at the gym. Some dishes are more delicious than others, of course, but everything always feels clean, fresh, and not overloaded with sauces or oil. The staff is incredibly sweet and always fast. The only point I’d love to raise is about a few unusual recipes in the new menu — though this is more feedback for NU’s top management than for this specific location. For example, adding rocket to a hot breakfast wrap with eggs is a bit strange, since rocket doesn’t really work when heated. Also, the wrap with poached eggs and beef feels like the ingredients don’t complement each other, as poached eggs aren’t the best fit for a wrap. It would be great if the person who created these dishes could try them out. Overall, I still really appreciate this place and the consistency they’ve maintained over the years.

Every time you order something take away they do something wrong. Putting a wrong dish, not cooking food properly, burning one side and trying to hide it in the box, not listening or not sending to kitchen your comments specifically the one about allergies and intolerance.

I can’t remember ever leaving a bad review but the service and food is very bad. The portions are small - the food doesn’t taste like anything - the service is bad and often rude.

I’ve given Nu multiple chances, but after more than 50 visits, I have to say the consistency just isn’t there. The Point store was no different. A simple order—free-range eggs of your choice on toast—shouldn’t be difficult, yet the toast is always just warmed bread, and the medium poached eggs I request either arrive scrambled or completely overcooked. The food quality is, at best, average, and while the café benefits from the gym’s convenience, the service and execution need serious improvement. It’s disappointing to hear so many other regulars echo the same frustrations. I truly hope management takes note because there’s so much potential to do better.

If you're looking for one of the best coffees made at a new store, then I wholly recommend you pop in to NU Health Food at the Silo District, by the Virgin Active Silo. Ask Vuyo to make you his specialized Cortado, he is a brilliant barista! And remembers all his usual clients with their usual orders I can confirm that it will definitely blow you away. My favorite breakfast choice from there, is the Vegetable on Poached Eggs - it definitely gets a thumbs up from me! Try something NU sometime!

Love the girls at Nu Cafe Silo. They know all customers by name, know your regular orders and your favourite coffee. Honestly, you can't fault them at all. Learn their names and I promise you'll feel like part of the family. Best service yet.
