Stayed for 2 nights in late May. I wished I read all the other reviews regarding the air-conditioning in the rooms. Because as at May 2024, it remained a problem and it does not look like there is a solution.
Simply put, their so called 'green' air-conditioning system just means that nobody, not you in the room nor anyone at the front desk, has control over the A/C. It turns off and on at will, and there is no discernible pattern or logic. Either you or the front desk can set the room temperature, but there is absolutely no correlation with airflow in the room.
Let me explain further. I first checked into a room on the 3rd floor, and the A/C wasn't blowing, despite having set the temperature down to the lowest possible. The air was still and stuffy. I called the front desk, who gave a vague explanation of there being an 'issue', and that they have made a 'reset' and suggested I waited a while for it to come back on, which it never did.
They then volunteered to switch rooms for me, and put me up on the 5th floor. Lo and behold, the A/C was blowing there and everything felt normal. Things worked fine the next 24 hours or so and I had a comfortable first night.
On the second night, the A/C stopped blowing. The front desk (a different night crew) said the temperature was already set at the lowest, and essentially told me that there was nothing that could be done. I could see from the thermostat that the temperature was gradually going up (room getting warmer) way above what was set, and still the A/C never came back on.
So I had to open my window to let fresh air in, which completely negated the sound-proofing, and I had to put up with the sound of passing cars and the nightclub opposite as I slept. The noise would not have been an issue if the window was closed. I was relieved to check out the next morning.
Such a shame. It's actually a decent property in a relatively quiet neighborhood. I've never encountered any other hotel that doesn't allow you to control airflow in your own room. Even the corridor had better air! I don't really care what the explanations are, and what the intended 'green' concept is, but it just does not work for the end-user.
