"This resort takes full advantage of its unparalleled location atop Bald Head Cliff, where an outdoor hot tub and saltwater pool overlook the full force of the Atlantic Ocean crashing down below, and rooms have stunning views — sometimes literally plural, as in the case of corner suites with two balconies." - Adam H. Had never heard of Nubb's before, but it came highly recommended from a friend so I had to try it; it didn't disappoint. I ordered a lobster roll (the CT way: hot with butter) and it was delicious. The fries that it came with were arguably even better, but the star was still the roll and I'll be back to try one the Maine way. (Additionally, the view of the ocean is incredible. )

My wife and I ate lunch here every day when we stayed at the Cliff House for four days. The lobster rolls with fries and a side of Cole slaw were great, as were the beef hot dogs. There was an extensive menu, but we limited ourselves to those items. You can easily bring your food outside to the picnic tables or sit indoors and still look out at the ocean. Very relaxing. Plus there is a full bar where you can get soft drinks, wine, beer or liquor. This is not inexpensive, but it's a very nice place for lunch and the food was good.

As a guest at the Cliff House, Nubbs was a convenient choice for lunch by the pool! We shared the chicken tenders, which had a nice crunch from the cornflake breading. We also enjoyed the fries which had some old bay seasoning sprinkled on top. The smell of their cooking takes over the lower level of the resort and always had us hungry!

Google
Layered up to eat outside dining. Everything was wonderful. Fresh air, unobstructed views and excellent experience with all. Briann got us started with beverages. Kabir reserved our food order and off we went to the great outdoor dining area. The Globe Dining is next, as we will return.

Google
Great lobster place inside the Cliff House hotel. My husband ordered the lobster roll and he said it was very good and had lobster popping out of the bun. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was kind of dry, but what do you expect when you order bbq from a lobster place! The fries were nice and crispy. They did forget to give us our blueberry Maine root soda, which we were too far away and too lazy to go back and ask for.

Fantastic people who care about their customers. Food is high quality. Lobster rolls are the best in Souuthern Maine.

Google
Had an awesome experience at the Cliff House by the pool. I recommend the roll trio! I comes with 3 mini rolls (one shrimp, one lobster and one crab). They aren’t that mini and we’re all delicious! Also includes seasoned fries and made for two meals all together. The service poolside was a great touch and quick! We will definitely be back!

Went here for lunch and had a good meal. Reasonable prices for the location and quality. The burger is solid and the fish and chips were excellent! Their fries are something special too! Service was stunning at both the bar and the food order window.

Yelp
Nubb's Lobster Shack is a must-visit for any seafood lover! Nestled in a scenic spot with stunning coastal views, this place combines laid-back vibes with top-tier lobster rolls that rival any in New England. The menu is simple yet packed with flavor. The classic lobster roll is brimming with sweet, tender chunks of lobster, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of mayo. Don't skip the clam chowder, either; it's creamy, hearty, and loaded with fresh clams. There's nothing like enjoying fresh seafood with a salty breeze and ocean views. The staff are friendly and quick, ensuring your meal is as relaxing as it is delicious. A quintessential Maine spot!

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful location. Food was delicious. All GF, too. Best French fries I've eaten in a while. Counter service was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. No complaints. Great food at comparable prices with an amazing view. It's a bit out of the way but definitely worth the brief ride!

Ashlea B.

Yelp
Nubbs...so delicious...I'm still dreaming about that lobster roll. My order go-to...many times...was the Lobster Roll and then a blueberry soda. We visited multiple times during our trip and were never disappointed.

Susan W.

Yelp
Just Ordinary. Guest at the hotel looking for a light dinner. Crab cake sandwich - very small ok flavor $21.00. Pulled chicken sandwich with sweet potato tater tots Smoked chicken- dry and spicy. Tater tots were delicious Order at counter. Pick up when ready. Bus your own table Bartender friendly

Yelp
Was looking for a place to eat before meeting someone onsite at the Cliff House. Nubb's seemed perfect. It was the perfect location and it does have the cutesy factor but resort pricing and resort ambiance would lead me off site if I had the time to spare. Orders are taken as you enter the restaurant, a walk up ordering station where you order, pay and receive a buzzer to take to your table. Menu is classic lobster shack menu with resort pricing. The tables are a mix of indoor upscale picnic tables and regular tables. There is a bar in the restaurant and they serve a very good selection of local beers, this gets high marks! There were a couple of groups in the restaurant and they were having a good time. My lobster roll was fine, not one I would seek out. Fries were crinkle fries and looked and tasted like frozen fries. Coleslaw allocation was small, but it was good. So, overall I think Nubb's is good but I would not consciously come again unless I was staying at the resort or was pressed for time - meeting someone at the resort.

Yelp
It was great!! Food and service!! Their cookies are to die for! Soft fresh and chewy inside!! They have huge portions too fish and chips came totally be shared for 2 people!!!

K. E.

Yelp
Great fried seafood with a twist that makes it just different enough from the typical New England clam shacks. Prices were surprisingly reasonable, and the views were spectacular.

Naomi R.

Yelp
I was expecting overpriced crap but it was relatively reasonable to where it's located and very good. I would've given five stars if the bartender wasn't such a moody cranky B. She was atrocious and made a terrible drink. Lobster roll was yummy, clams were delish, to sweet potato tots are worth the upcharge but don't sleep on the Greek salad- that was fab!

Richard W.

Yelp
Review is based on the approach and the atmosphere only. I didn't eat there, because the approach was that unappealing. It was a lonnngg walk from the parking lot to the front door of the resort, then a trek down a long hallway to where the restaurant is, which is across the hall from the indoor pool reeking of chemicals. That stench is wafting into the entryway of the dining room. You get treated to the sight of a crowd of hotel guests milling around in their pool attire and hotel robes. Then, be warned, it's one of those places where you place an order at a counter, and I guess they bring the food to your table? Or maybe they call out your number, like a drive-in from the 1960's? Either way, if I'm paying $36 for a lobster roll, I'd like full table service. The menu is underwhelming for such a lovely resort. I get the feeling that because they have you there, a good distance just to the parking lot, somewhat isolated, you'll deal with this bowling-alley snack bar crap for the convenience. Couldn't do it.

Frank O.

Yelp
Very nice people working here, My family and I sampled most of the desserts on the menu. The deserts here will get you a quick fix.

Therese H.

Yelp
If you're looking for lobster everything along with ambiance, look no further!! First time here, I wanted a lobster roll but after seeing more on menu, chose a trio of rolls-lobster, crab & shrimp! Sooo good! I love that they had malt on the tables to have with my fries!! Yum! Cute rustic decor & of course the views are gorgeous! On other side of counter is more to the menu -tons of ways to get tater tots -hubby ordered lobster, brown buttered with cheese curds & whoa!!! I will be back! :)

Matteo G.

Yelp
Always a pleasure to eat here when staying at the Cliff house. The lobster rolls are meaty and delicious. This time we also tried the big lobster, which was exceptional. Prices are good, ambiance is casual and views are spectacular

Kim C.

Yelp
Vegetarian perspective. Nice selection of salads. The Greek salad was full of vegetables with a nice light dressing. The vegetarian burger was ok, nice avocado and sauce. Fries were really good, crinkly and crispy. Skip the grilled cheese. Great atmosphere. Order at counter and you get a buzzer to alert you that food is ready. Everyone working there was nice, helpful and professional. As the casual restaurants at Cliff House, it would have been nice to see a vegetarian entree that wasn't a burger or grilled cheese. Would definitely eat there again. The vegetarian selection at Tillers was minimal, so we ate here a couple times.

Joel S.

Yelp
Reasonable choice for lunch if you're onsite. The lobster roll was fine, but could have been a bit bigger. The pulled pork sandwich was solid. The Greek salad with grilled chicken was inedible and had to be returned. All else being equal, I would rather put on dry clothes and have lunch at the Tiller.

Anthony V.

Yelp
Their food is absolutey great. I recommend the lobster roll and their fries are amazing. Their service is also amazing and the atmosphere is amazing with great views. And their s'mores ice cream is amazing

Judy D.

Yelp
Stopped for the view and thought their food must be good. We were wrong about the food. We got the clam chowder and mostly potatoes but flavor was good. Definitely need some clams in there! Beer was warm, had to pour it over ice to drink it. We were not there long. Good place to have a drink and sit on the patio. That's about it.

Steph Y.

Yelp
The whitest tacos ever I saw "spicy poboy shrimp tacos" and thought what could go wrong? The combination of poboy and taco should have tipped me off that much, indeed, could go wrong. The taco had a base of cold, dry tortilla. Then some dry broccoli slaw with no dressing or vinegar. To make up for all the dryness, the shrimp were coated in gobs of thick, pinkish mayo! Why would anybody do this to shrimp? There were some pickled onions on top, but they could not do much to save this shipwreck of a dish.

Blake R.

Yelp
Nubbs lobster shack! Well you have to really be looking for it to find it! But when you do, you will have a great lobster roll with a breath taking view. The lobster was tossed in mayo and butter at our request. The lobster was tender and roll perfectly toasted. Located near the pool area of the resort. So find it and you will find the lobster Roll you have been looking for!

Christine C.

Yelp
Delicious lobster roll, warm with butter bread roll! A lot of lobster meat!!! And the crisp "Following Sea" lager specially made for Cliff House from Baxter Brewing Company!

Tricia S.

Yelp
Our first night at the resort, we decided to eat here for a low key dinner. I got the fish n chips with sweet potato tots, my husband got the blackened haddock sandwich with French fries. I had to send back my haddock, it was so over cooked it was almost like jerky. They made me a new one which was better, still dry. The blackened haddock was a lot better, not dried out and very flavorful. The sweet potato tots stole the show over the haddock. It's ok if you don't want to leave the resort, and want a decent meal.

Yulia D.

Yelp
Nicely designed with beautiful view. Meal?! Meal is just as awful as it could be...burned swordfish! You can see that the kabobs is super dry. The menu says "veggies"...I must say that it's not lying but be ready for just a lot of onions and a few cuts of peppers as veggies. Waste of $24

Stacia G.

Yelp
Great location onsite for a quick bite to eat when sitting by the pool. The portions of the lobster rolls are small as other reviewers have mentioned, but mine was delicious. The bartender was pleasant and kind to us! Her drink selections and service were quick and delicious! Recommend the lobster roll, tuna poke bowl, and fried clam plate

Dominic V.

Yelp
Had good hotdogs and chicken tenders the old bay fries, where great holy shit the s'mores ice cream is to die for

Hugh L.

Yelp
We recently stayed at the Cliff House and enjoyed a day at the beautiful pool with amazing views. We ordered lunch poolside and I have to say, the chicken salad sandwich I had was really good. Later that evening, we walked over to Nubb's for some dinner. After ordering our food, we sat at one of the outdoor picnic tables. I got up to go the men's room leaving my 2 daughters for a minute and turned around when I heard people screaming in time to see a huge seagull sweeping down and stealing my daughter's chicken tenders. One of the young men working inside saw what happened and quickly came over to make sure she was okay and offered to replace her food...which was very nice. I got up again to make another attempt at the men's room, turned around a minute later and the same dang bird swept down and stole my mini lobster roll. Crazy! We promptly moved inside as to not tempt that 'vulture' a third time. Diners beware! Aside from being in some sort of crazy Hitchcock film, albeit only 1 crazy bird, I have to say the food was very good. I had the mini trio rolls and the lobster roll was fantastic! I prefer it with melted butter rather than mayo but I know to locals, that might sound sacrilege. To each their own. My daughters chicken tenders were also really good. Friendly service...great food...great view...what more can you ask for on vacation...other than perhaps safety from the lurking pterodactyl. :)

Yelp
Best lobster roll I've had in Maine thus far and I've had at least one a day for the last three days. Order it warm, with butter rather than the traditional cold way. The way they crisp the bun and the sweetness of the bun, couldn't compare to Barnacle Billy's or the foot bridge lobster shack in Perkins cove. The location is on the east side of the Cliff House hotel so you'll have a view of the Atlantic while you partake of your lobstah. Clam chowder didn't wow me. It's nothing to write home about so I probably wouldn't order it here again.

Michelle R.

Yelp
Sean is the BEST. He's so helpful and gives the best recommendations that don't disappoint. The Caesar salad is great, lobster tachos, and do not sleep on the chicken fingers - absolutely delish. We love it up here and Sean is a big reason at the bar.

Judy R.

Yelp
We have been here for the last two days. Both times, we've had to wait to be acknowledged by the staff. Our first visit, We did not know that you have to order at the window.. we sat down and neither server at the bar offered to help us. Food is just so-so. Very clumpy Mac and cheese. Chicken salad sandwich was good.Need to have a few more options since it's the only casual food option at Cliff House. Not a very good casual food establishment for this beautiful location

Victoria R.

Yelp
If you're looking for a delicious lobster roll and a comfortable atmosphere, this is the place! You order at the counter and take device that will alert you when your meal is ready for pick up. Meanwhile you can visit the bar to grab any beverage to bring back to your table or to enjoy at the bar seating. There are a variety of tvs mounted on the walls and at the far end of the restaurant there is a foosball table and shuffleboard. The lobster is fresh and plentiful and the atmosphere is casual and fun. We'll definitely be back in summertime to take advantage of the extensive porch and outdoor or seating!

Amanda M.

Yelp
Customer service was good and space was eye grabbing with all the details in decoration. Food was tasteful and fresh. We tried the lobster roll, chicken, and fish and chips. Food was great portions for lunch. Tried the blueberry pie a la mode and it wasn't my favorite. Great little spot for lunch.

Darlene G.

Yelp
$32 Lobster Roll served with sweet potato tater tots (way too many). Taste was good, but portion size for the price was a little much. Lots of taters though! But how many can you actually eat?

KJ E.

Yelp
A solid quick meal, with a variety of fresh options. The tater tots seem to be a hot item, but were sold out EVERY day of our trip! Lobster grilled cheese, crab cakes, and fries were all great. Clam chowder was just ok. Prices run on the high end but the location, view, and fresh quality made it worth it.

Jeff F.

Yelp
Solid lobster roll. Great setting for kids. Worth checking out if you're at the property

Mary H.

Yelp
During our stay at Cliff House, we ate here since we wanted a quick dinner after being on the road all day. The quality of the lobster and shrimp was poor at best. The food was flavorless and overpriced for the quality. We could not eat the shrimp because the taste was horrible. The lobster roll was rubbery and flavorless and the fries were cold no undercooked. What a big disappointmen.

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Convenient spot with quick service at the Cliff House resort, including full bar. I'm sure their lobster is very good, but wanted to try something a little different. I got the oyster roll (oysters lightly fried) on a niiicely buttered roll and it was DELICIOUS!! Also had the tuna poke bowl another day, tuna was juicy and tender but wasn't a big fan of the rest of it (mostly rice). But anyway, great place to grab lunch or a quick dinner. Try the locally made Whoopie pie for dessert :)

Lizzie K.

Yelp
Located at the Cliff House Resort, this lobster shack is a must if you're in the Ogunquit area. I will note that their prices run on the higher side, but the quality of their food makes up for it. The ambiance is very laid back, and in the summer you can eat outside by the pool. The first time I went here, I ordered the Maine lobster roll cooked with brown butter. It was by far the best lobster roll I've ever had, and you could tell the lobster was freshly caught. My mother ordered the clam roll, which she thought was delicious as well. The next time I went here, I tried the lobster hush puppies and the fish and chips. The lobster hush puppies were good, not great, and the fish and chips were super crispy and flavorful. They also have ice cream which was nice to have by the pool.

Pam M.

Yelp
GREAT place for a Lobster roll!! Too bad they don't serve breakfast. In the winter they are are closed Tuesdays. The bartender (I wish I asked his name) is very friendly and helpful. The staff for food are also very pleasant.

David M.

Yelp
Great location but the food DOES NOT represent such a luxurious setting. Below basic we're the entrees. Lacking taste, fried to oblivion and scaled to infant taste buds. I could find no redeeming qualities for our food. If possible skip this food stop. Endure the hunger pangs until you can better spend you hard earned money.

carol c.

Yelp
Located at the beautiful Cliff House with a beautiful view, my meal was horrible. It was the worst mushy, tasteless lobster roll with uncooked fries. My husband's fried clams were inedible. This is Maine. If you can't get a good lobster roll here, it's pretty pathetic. Stay at this beautiful hotel but avoid this lobster shack.

Melanie K.

Yelp
So good! Loved it, it was amazing, and there's something here for everyone. My kids enjoyed kid fare while I had crab cakes and my husband ate chicken salad. Can't beat the view!

Karolina P.

Yelp
Best Lobster roll I've had in my life. Fresh Lobster and fresh buttery bread with the perfect amount of crisp. A++

Julia L.

Yelp
Owesome place for lunch. Lots of menu options and good atmosphere. Beautiful ocean view! You have to order and then pick it up yourself. Plenty of tables to sit at. Prices are very reasonable. Bar is in the middle and one side of the restaurant has games area for kids, so parents can enjoy their food while kids are occupied! Win-win!

Jackie G.

Yelp
Really good spot, lobster roll was one of the best we've had here in Maine! And you can't beat the view!

Stacey D.

Yelp
Wow! Can't beat the view and family-friendly vibe (corn-hole, outdoor picnic tables, etc. The food and pricing was spot on as well. We REALLY appreciated that all of the fried items were gluten free! We've never come across gluten free clams before, so this was a super find! We'll definitely visit again when visiting the area!

Mike S.

Yelp
We stay at the Cliff House every year. We usually eat at Tillers once, but this year we are all Nubbs. We are eating here for the third time this weekend. Food is great. The atmosphere is really cool. Very relaxed which is what this place is all about. The peel and eat shrimp are a must, unless you don't like to get your fingers dirty. We had the crab roll earlier today and that was awesome. Tonight it's the oyster roll and the brisket both delicious. Service is awesome. Place is great.

Scott N.

Yelp
Tater Tots, covered in a cheese sauce. Pretty good. Now, finish 'em with a generous amount of fresh lobster meat and you have one helluva' killer pub-style lunch. Also, of all things, their chicken salad sandwich is fantastic! My wife had ordered one on our first visit, and I actually ordered it instead of a lobster roll - for real! All in all, very good pub fare with some interesting twists. Not inexpensive, but not ridiculous, either. Self service, you order at a takeout window and when your buzzer summons, you pick up your food, kinda' cafeteria style. And the view is worth the few extra bucks you might pay. The bar is nice tho' not exceptional. The bar at Tiller's (their other on premises eatery) has a much more extensive selection. That said, the bartenders are top notch.

David S.

Yelp
The restaurant has definitely slipped over the last 2 years. The lobsters are small and the 1 and1/2 pounders were clearly not that weight. A similar weight at Robert's was much larger and better. The service was unfriendly and not in line with care that should be taken in this time of pandemic. It's not likely that we will ever return and we have gone to nuunans for the past 10 years.

Laura W.

Yelp
We had lunch here this week and took a break from our pool time. The lobster rolls were good, just overall pricier than going off-resort. The staff is nice but the wait took longer than expected. This is a great option if you want to have lunch at the resort and not have to get out of your swimsuit. 4 stars for the food and the convenience!

Donna K.

Yelp
The decor is lovely. If you want a delicious and affordable fish sandwich there are many other places which serve this. Perhaps tourists would be satisfied?
