We've been regular customers here for the past two years, but it seems like they've recently hired new staff. During our last visit, when the restaurant was almost empty, we sat outside with my dog. The table we were given was covered in ants due to large pieces of chicken scattered on the ground. We decided to move to a nearby table and politely asked the server if we could switch seats.
The server, visibly anxious and hesitant, explained that she needed to ask her manager for permission. It was clear that she was fearful of her manager, who, according to her, was not the friendly person we were used to. Despite the server's initial attitude, it was evident that she was just intimidated by her superior.
When the manager approached us with a forced smile and an irritated demeanor, we explained that we wanted to move because of the ants. Her response was dismissive: "You're outside." Despite the restaurant being slow, with only one other table occupied, she reluctantly agreed to let us move. By then, we decided to leave.
It's disheartening to see a manager who intimidates their staff to the point that it affects the customer experience. A hostile work environment not only affects employees but also leads to an unpleasant dining atmosphere for patrons. This manager is clearly not fit for the role, as her behavior impacts both her team and the customers.
