The menu has a wonderful selection of high quality Mexican dishes, and the portions are just right. The prices are very reasonable for food and drinks. I loved my tacos, and they have the best chips! The location is perfect, as it is located very close to the lake and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and sports venues too. I love the clear glass views which brings in a lot of natural light, and the outdoor patio is awesome! Nuevo is an awesome place for lunch and dinner.

We sat at the bar and had the greatest bartender. So sorry don’t recall his name but he was working Sunday 6/15/2025 around 3:30pm. Bonus points IMO: He was super kind to a homeless woman who came in, he gave her a water to go. I was impressed by his compassion and kindness. He was also informative and made excellent recommendations. He ensured we were happy with our drinks and went above and beyond to accommodate my special request for special salted rim. The drinks were delicious. If you like mezcal, the smoked peach was excellent!! We loved the walleye/octopus ceviche. Served over a crispy but sweet plantains…yum. Lomo Saltado tacos were amazing as well. Enjoyed this location after visiting the USS COD, and prior to Rock and Roll hall of fame.

Make sure to get a reservation!!!! . Excellent food and atmosphere . Pricing is in line with what you would expect for a downtown restaurant. The good thing is the food is excellent. I got the birria quesadilla and it was phenomenal. . Service was good and the staff is friendly. . I would go here again for a special occasion. Especially on a nice day. . Side note they do have gluten free options.

Great atmosphere and on the Lake. Beautiful view and Rory, our waitress, was phenomenal. Delicious food. We ate the empanadas and shrimp tacos. A definite must in cleveland just for the view outdoors.

Google
The Birria quesadillas were unique and yummy. The rice rice was just ok and the pinto beans were a little different, took some getting used to, for me. They had a unique sweetness. But i liked them after a few bites. And wow, what a tequila selection.

Google
Packed with flavorful dishes and good views. This place is located right on the pier downtown in the heart of Cleveland. The meal started with the guacamole trio. The standout was the watermelon with jalapeño and queso fresco cheese. We also enjoyed the queso fundido with the tasty perfectly seasoned chips! For the main course I had the Barria Quesadilla with rice and pinto beans. The beef short rib was a perfect symphony of flavors. The quesadilla could easily feed 2, as me and my companion shared and it was more than enough. The pinto beans were stand out. The must try side item was the jalapeño cheddar cornbread muffins. The Tres Leches didn’t disappoint from the aesthetically appealing presentation and the pineapple flavors to add to creativity of the dessert. We definitely recommend Joe for his prompt service but also super friendly. This place is a must visit gem and we will definitely be returning on our next visit to Cleveland.

I been to this location multiple times and never experienced such poor customer service like today. The waiter refused to get the manager because I had a complaint about my food. Me and my daughter ordered the same thing. Mines was plated nicely and hers was burnt, soggy and thrown on the plate like the cook had a attitude or something. My daughter plate look like someone eat it because it came to her. Very disgusting experience today. I would like a gift card or something for this bad experience. I paid alot of money for these meals.

Google
If I could give this visit more stars, I would! Food and Jalapeno cilantro margaritas were top notch. Our server was friendly, attentive and could not have been better. Amazing view of the city and Rock Hall of Fame from the upper floor. I am so glad we tried this place and would definitely recommend.

Yelp
I had some friends come visit and we wanted to try something new! The vibe was chill and if you're there in the summer sitting outside is worth the view! Service was fast and the staff was friendly gave us good recommendations! The menu was fun and everything we tried was delicious! I had the Chifa Bowl with shrimp and it was definitely full of flavor and worth the try!

Yelp
I briefly stopped in at Beachwood Mall a few weeks back, and as I strolled through the food court a gentleman at Nuevo modern Mexican asked if we would like a sample. Not only was the food excellent but the service was as well. I believe his name was Chris :0) just wanted to give a shout out for the kind service! -Nursing Student & Mother-In-Law

Yelp
This location is so awesome. Great views. That said...I really wish it were a better restaurant! I visited a few years ago, and absolutely loved the margarita flights and the spoonbread. Both of those items are now gone, and they were out of several menu items as well. We chose the guacamole (good), queso (good but the thick top layer of cheese wasn't appetizing, we had to push it out of the way to get to the melt cheese), we got margaritas (good) and ended with the chimichanga and the quesadilla. The meal overall really lacked flavor. AS many others have said, the rice was a total bummer.no flavor, a little stale tasting. Pinto beans were meh. The meat was good, but that's kind of hard to mess up when you slow cook it. What I really want to comment on os the cleanliness of the establishment. When I went to set my purse on the ground near my seat, the floor was SO dirty. Not with the expected crumbs and whatnot, but like caked with grime in the corners. We also didn't get any napkins or silverware until we asked for it. Just a weird experience for a place that could be so awesome. Our server was quite nice. No complaints there.

Yelp
Located on the ruins of the old Captain Frank's, this is a modern restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating. The views are great. They feature upscale Latin food and drink. The cocktail menu is interesting and I loved their take on an old fashioned cocktail. But for me, Latin food just doesn't lend itself to upscale. The best Latin foods are always found in the small family-run neighborhood restaurants. Nothing was bad, I had the barbacoa quesadilla. The meat was tender and flavorful, no complaints. The rice was dry and flavorless but otherwise we all enjoyed our meals. My wife had the carnitas tacos and she loved them, but she wanted black beans and they only serve pinto beans. Would I go back? Yes, absolutely. The views and outdoor seating was great. Our server Corinne was super friendly and took the time to recommend her favorite menu items. For lunch, you can't go wrong here. Muchas gracias!

Yelp
If I had to choose, food is better than drinks here. Drinks are pretty sweet but I appreciate all of the fun flavors like banana guava! The food menu was a lot more creative than I expected! The empanada with an American twist with the sausage and cornbread crust was so flavorful and unique!! We loved it and will order this exact dish again if available. The cornbread was also delicious, not crazy crumbly so it was easy to pick up and eat. The salad was HUGE which I appreciate since salads are usually overpriced at restaurants.

Yelp
We came here on strong recommendations of hotel and didn't disappoint. Although they close fairly early (9pm), we walked in at 8:30pm on weeknight and they accommodated us to fullest. Good margaritas and appetizers (calamari, empanadas were a hit!) Had the chimichanga and can tell it's 'neuvo' style, with different offerings and sauces, but still enjoyed the meal Great place to stop in Cleveland, and near the Lake shore to catch a nice sunset and way h the locals play beach volleyball!

Yelp
The food here was so delicious!!! We loved the fresh salsa and chips!!!! The guacamole was also excellent!!! It was served several different ways! The best was guacamole with habanero jelly!!! Our shrimp tacos were delish!!!! Our server was also very good and attentive even though they were super busy!!! The view of the lake was an added bonus!!!

Yelp
Great service & atmosphere, location is very nice! Tried the Birria ramen & it was good but on the sweeter side, not super authentic but then again, there's no such thing as an authentic Birria ramen. Prices are on the higher side but are to be expected considering the location

Yelp
We held our son's rehearsal dinner at Nuevo in August 2024 and they did an amazing job! Their lakeside event center space has awesome views and truly made the evening special. And the taco bar was a hit, too! Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
After going for an adventure inside rock n roll hall of fame we walked down the road to this place. Seemed like we go there as they were opening which we still were welcomed very nicely. Enjoyed some drinks and good eats. The chips were seasoning throughly and served warm. The sauce for the taquitos was a bonus dippings for the chips along with the crispy taquitos. 10/10 such a great place alongside the perfect view

Yelp
The ambiance and customer service are both great but the food wasn't the best. We were told the wait time for an outdoor table for 2 was 20 mins. After 30 mins of no text/call, we went back and it seemed like they forgot about us because a couple who came in after us already finished their meals when we were just getting seated. I highly recommend the queso dip and chips, both were warm and amazing. The Salasa Macha Chicken (Salsa macha chicken thigh, romaine chiffonade, cotija cheese, cilantro) was not to our expectations. It was not spicy at all, the rice was bland, and the chicken needed some flavor to it. If we visit Cleveland again, this place would not be on the list of foods to eat.

Yelp
I had the best Bloody Mary made by lan ever. I had the papas fritas, mom had the carnitas dad had the Lomo Saltado. It took us several minutes to order as we were struggling with the menu. We are from NM. lan was awesome explaining the food, food prep and what was on the plate to us. Our overall experience superb - we would do it again. Thank you

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend visited here before the rock and roll museum, we were really excited but ended up being dissatisfied. The meat for the tacos was really good, just needed a little salt, but once we made our tacos the corn tortillas were so dry and bland, it was almost not edible. The rice was bland as well The chips and queso were the best thing but the cheese was also bland. I wouldn't recommend this place tbh

Yelp
Food was great and locations was perfect! The tajin rice was delicious and the salsa were awesome. I sat a that he and and great service both times. Got a little busy with a group coming without reservations. Didn't get to go upstairs.

Yelp
This food was amazing. They did an twist on Kimchi fried rice and it wasn't disappointing. All the ingredients and the sauce worked well together to bring amazing flavor. The portion is huge!

Yelp
This little Mexican restaurant in downtown Cleveland is decently nice. Located right on the lake and near the rock of roll Hall of Fame, it is definitely a busier place. They have a variety of different sauces, guacamole, and other types of food as well. I tried the Caesar salad with steak from there. I ordered my steak well done, and there was definitely no pink in it. It was still tender and not tough. The croutons that were in the Caesar salad were, really good. I could probably eat a whole bowl of those alone. Other people that I went with tried items like the chimichanga and quesadilla. Portions were large, and the food was pretty good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor seating has umbrellas and awnings to help protect from the sun. The ambience was actually very nice. For somebody that likes Mexican and has a slightly adventurous palette, I would recommend that they try this place. You definitely won't find your typical ground beef tacos or chicken quesadillas here, but what they have is good.

Yelp
A wonderful waterfront spot with tasty, modern Mexican food and drinks. They have fun margarita flavors, playful takes on familiar dishes and a great patio where you can watch the sun set. The staff was courteous and efficient.

Yelp
We had a great lunch at Nuevo, and we would love to go back when it was warmer! There were five of us for lunch. We ordered three margaritas, all great, and then guac and queso for appetizers. The chips were soooo good and different! I loved the seasoning. For lunch, we ordered a salad, fish tacos and three different taco meals and split them. Everything was wonderful and hit the spot. I also loved the decor of the restaurant. It was so new and fun

Yelp
We've been regular customers here for the past two years, but it seems like they've recently hired new staff. During our last visit, when the restaurant was almost empty, we sat outside with my dog. The table we were given was covered in ants due to large pieces of chicken scattered on the ground. We decided to move to a nearby table and politely asked the server if we could switch seats. The server, visibly anxious and hesitant, explained that she needed to ask her manager for permission. It was clear that she was fearful of her manager, who, according to her, was not the friendly person we were used to. Despite the server's initial attitude, it was evident that she was just intimidated by her superior. When the manager approached us with a forced smile and an irritated demeanor, we explained that we wanted to move because of the ants. Her response was dismissive: "You're outside." Despite the restaurant being slow, with only one other table occupied, she reluctantly agreed to let us move. By then, we decided to leave. It's disheartening to see a manager who intimidates their staff to the point that it affects the customer experience. A hostile work environment not only affects employees but also leads to an unpleasant dining atmosphere for patrons. This manager is clearly not fit for the role, as her behavior impacts both her team and the customers.

Yelp
Was here for a murder mystery dinner which included a buffet. The food we had consisted of buffet style make-your-own tacos with steak and chicken, rice, veggies, pico de galo, and other toppings. The food was great considering it was buffet style. Cant speak to service because of the type of event, but the staff were pleasant and friendly, especially behind the bar. The restaurant itself is massive with a modern decor and great views to lake and the city skyline. Very beautiful and comfy. Will definitely be back to eat here and sample the actual menu.

Yelp
I've wanted to try this place for a long time now. I finally got my chance. The ambiance was great. The place is colorful and the floor to wall windows allowed for a great view of downtown and the pier. The food was flavorful and nicely plated. My friend saw how much I liked the pinto beans and she ordered a side of them. The birria quesadillas was a perfect amount of food for lunch. The rice was just ok, but everything else was delicious. I would absolutely come back. Ohhhh and the ice! It was soooo good too. It made the water taste so much better. We all ate our ice including the kids. Great experience. Great service! Great view, even of the snow.

Yelp
Went to try Nuevo for the Cleveland Taco Week after work on Thursday. Located behind the Rock Hall at the front of Voinovich Park with lots of glass and metal with high ceilings and a big wrap around patio Nuevo takes full advantage of its location on a warm spring evening. There are great views of Lake Erie and the Inner Harbor. I was seated at the bar and served very well by the bartender. I ordered the two cod tacos with the chili relleno mac and cheese (hold the meat). My order came out quickly, hot and fresh and looking pretty good. The fish tacos were a crispy fried cod fillet with half on each taco, with a corn and peppers salsa and an avocado sauce on small flour tortillas. Overall not bad, although they would have benefited from a spicy element to add some contrast. The fish was good, although instead of being lightly battered the cod had a pretty thick crust. Where I was really let down was the mac and cheese, which was described as "pasta, white cheddar & smoked gouda cheese sauce, layered with chorizo flavored ground beef and roasted poblano peppers, topped with Fritos". I appreciated that I ordered with no meat, but there was no poblano peppers or fritos, just a small cup of pretty good mac and cheese. With just the pasta and sauce this was filling, but very one note. I think that Nuevo has a great location, building and an ambitious menu, service was very good and this could be a great place to hang out or grab dinner; however the food I tried (admittedly a special for Taco Week) was just OK, really missing the kind of flair and flavors I was hoping for.

Yelp
Started with the habanero jelly guacamole, and it was awesome. Deliciously flavored tortilla chips came with it. But the rest of the meal was very disappointing. Well over flavored everything. We had the fish tacos and it smelled a little fishy at first. I hope I don't have to edit this review later for stomach issues. Though there is potential for this to be a very good restaurant if they just turn the flavoring down several notches.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Ahhhhh, not the best food here. Everything was bland and the consume that came with my birria quesadilla was legit water. I made my friends try it as well since I thought it was bizarre that it was so bland when it was supposed to be used as a dipping sauce/condiment for my quesadilla. The queso and chips were the only good thing we ordered (you can't really mess up cheese and chips). If you're looking to come here for authentic Mexican or even good tasting Mexican food, don't. But the view is very nice and the inside is gorgeous. It is overpriced for what you're eating/getting but my guess is that you're Paying for the location. I will say though our server was AMAZING and funny and gave us a complimentary birthday shot. He was wonderful even though our food was not as great.
google avatar

Yelp
Taylor was amazing !!!!! Great table outside , amazing spicy mango margarita!! A beautiful day in Cleveland !!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was amazing, the service perfect and ambiance really great. We shared the Queso dip which was out of this world, then split the Jalepeno corn bread also tasty. I ordered the Chimichanga which had beef,,chicken and veggies and pinto beans in a fried flout tortilla. I could only eat half. My husband got the Lomo saltamo which are beef skirt tacos and they were the bomb. If your at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame its a five minute walk and well worth the visit.

Yelp
Excellent service, kind and helpful. Great drink, good and ambiance. Would love to return someday!

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite after RARHOF after purchasing tickets for the 3 pm river cruise we were pushed for time. Our server, Abby, was very easy to work with on expediting our order and was quick in getting our order to us which we changed to a to go order after we found out we needed to board 30 minutes before. Thankfully we made it with time to spare. The food was great and tasty. We ordered the Cerdo and it was really tasty. Wish we could have spent more time in the restaurant and enjoyed the ambiance more of our open air seating. Would return if in the area.

Yelp
I finished early at the convention center so I came over here to be near the water and chose Nuevo because it was the closest one to me and have a great bar. This was really comfortable in a nice place, view of the water and really good food. Although this was a tequila bar restaurant thing... I just drink cold beer and I ordered the Korean beef with kimchi cabbage tacos. OMG! Maybe it's me but this was really good and very flavorful and there was a lot of it. Just the Right amount of space, great service, and really nice just sitting at the bar eating at leisure. Have to say I really enjoyed this and highly recommend it.

Nikki F.

Yelp
Love the food here and the location is fantastic and the service was excellent! Sitting outside on a beautiful day with delicious food, views, and a blood orange margarita.... Can't be beat!
google avatar

Jack W.

Yelp
Nuevo has a great selection of drinks and food. Right on the water and the staff make the ambience fantastic.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, drinks, and service. Sit outside on the patio when it's warm out. There's plenty of shade so you won't burn. You might see the regulars(little birds) LOL. The restaurant is clean, open with high ceilings and the staff are very welcoming and attentive. I could sit out on the patio for hours. The restaurant is right by the water so you get the coastal winds and the Rock N Roll Hall of fame is also just a short walk away. The area is picturesque. A couple of wedding groups were out getting down Pics done. There's also a cool Cleveland sign with the gorgeous downtown in its background.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here for cinco de mayo and had an awesome time. The vibe is amazing with arguably the best patio in Cleveland (a true unsung hero, seriously) with sweeping cities of the city and North Coast Harbor. Great service compliments tasty food--try their take on the duck and waffle, I forget what it was called but it was so good. They also have great fish tacos. We loved the key lime margarita the most, but all of our cocktails were tasty. I wish the interior had a little bit more to offer from an ambiance standpoint, maybe some sleek hanging chiffon or beaded drapes to add some swanky character to match the price point. But for summer, the patio makes up for it :)

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Stopped here for margaritas, chips and salsa. Sat at the bar- the bartenders were wonderful. Well educated about all their drinks and made the perfect recommendations for us. Really enjoyed the hibiscus sugar rim on my margarita. The location is fantastic. I'm grateful for restaurants taking advantage of our beautiful coastline. Highly recommend.

Julia C.

Yelp
Two things...False advertisement. White washed food. This is NOT Mexican food...has no taste whatsoever. The only good thing I have to say about this place is the customer service. Our server was very sweet and understanding but I will never coming back here again.
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
Service poor to start. We sat at the bar and the barkeep was initially attentive by delivering menus and water but he then took care of three or four tables out in the restaurant. We could see him and he could see us. We got a few bites just house salsa and guacamole. I got a Casamigos neat my wife got a house margarita. The barkeep did recover nicely. The place is newish, many windows with nice views of Lake Erie. It is about 230pm on a Tuesday. The place is not crowded. The salsa and chips was very good. The guacamole was ok. A decent tequila bar with many choices. Mark & Nancy.

Chris M.

Yelp
Made a reservation weeks before. Left right after we got there before even sitting down. The table they gave us was literally in front of where they dump the dirty dishes. When we asked if we could possibly get a different table we were treated with a nasty attitude. This was once a cool, classy place to eat by the water. Now it's a dump! Service is a 0 out of 10 and ambiance is a 1 out of 10. Left and went to Avo on 25th and had excellent service and food !!! Won't ever go to Nuevo again!
google avatar

Gina W.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere and location with a view. But just wasn't well managed. Dirty tables and floors. Menu was unique and inviting. Service was good but food was lacking and because everything was so dirty we decided to have our drink and appetizer and move on. Really hoped for more.

Itchymoche A.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Menu was limited. Food was mediocre. Service was slow. Margarita was weak, served in a tall glass filled with mostly ice. Extremely overpriced $$$. I'd never go back. If you want Mexican, go elsewhere.
google avatar

Leslie S.

Yelp
Pros: Great decor, good music, chill ambiance. This was probably our favorite meal in Cleveland! I had the butternut squash flautas and they were divine. Hubby has the steak and he LOVED it. We also shared the guacamole and the chocolate mouse, both delicious. Cons: The habanero guacamole is very spicy, so beware. Most seating in the first level is high tops, we got lucky and got the only booth.

Kim H.

Yelp
The food was wonderful and the portions are huge. The service was also very good. I would certainly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Courtni B.

Yelp
I tried to find a positive here but this place just seems really lazy. They seem to bank on the fact that they have an amazing location but everything else is just bad. My order (literally just guac!) was messed up. Our server was happy to correct it but did seem annoyed with our party overall for no apparent reason. My party gave mixed reviews of the margaritas and felt this place was far too expensive for the quality of food provided.
google avatar

Andrea U.

Yelp
Very nice drink list with margaritas, specialty cocktails, beer and tequilas. We sat outdoors Skipping chips, guacamole & appetizers. I ordered the shrimp taco lunch and my husband the Americana tacos with ground beef. My husbands mango margarita was fresh, top shelf & delicious. My casa sangria contained Rose, Kettle 1 botanicals, peach and orange blossom, peach, strawberry & grapefruit. Thedrinks were generous and delicious. Adam our waiter was personable and on point. He asked where we were from and shared stories about rockers & athletes that's celebrated here. N

Yelp
I stopped here after walking through the rock & roll hall of fame. It was a nice day I sat outside had a good margarita some habanero guacamole & chips. Followed by the birria quesadilla. It was way too much food but pretty good the quesadilla was a little dry it needed something. I had some guaq to put on it & that did the trick. I would eat here again! The service on the other hand was less than stellar very nice man but he dropped off the check & kinda never came back I had a plane to catch. Eventually he did & was apologetic but...

Yelp
Food and atmosphere were great along with the service. Felt a bit on the pricey side but seems to be the norm now days.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way through town. Tacos and guacamole were both incredible. We had a nice table right next to the windows but they have a beautiful patio as well. Service was fast and attentive. Overall great experience
google avatar

Pauline L.

Yelp
Riley our server was the best. She was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of TVs to watch Sunday sports. Mixed cocktails were fantastic as well as our 4 entrees. The view of Lake Erie and all its glory is just beautiful. Didn't know they had volley ball courts!!! Would be fun in the summer. We had an event at the rock hall and it was an easy walk with one stop parking at the meter

Yelp
We stopped in for drinks and a snack after visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and before meeting up with colleagues for dinner. They were very busy at the bar on an early Friday evening, and so they offered us a table in the restaurant area as long as we were OK with departing before they needed the table for reservations. We were completely fine with that and enjoyed being able to sit and relax while we enjoyed our chips and salsa and margaritas. I had a blood orange margarita with a tajin rim. This was an excellent margarita! They are using quality ingredients here and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and size of the margaritas. The chips were fresh, nicely seasoned and delicious and the house salsa was also fresh and delicious. I definitely want to come back and have dinner at some point. The view of the lake is beautiful and if it were a tiny bit warmer, the outdoor seating would definitely have been our choice.

Yelp
This was my wife and I's first visit to Nuevo, and it was delicious! I'm vegan and she's omni. We loved that we both had some absolutely delicious options to choose from! We'll definitely stop by when we're in the area again. The Báhn Mì tacos were exceptionally delicious! My wife even preferred it over the Al Pastor tacos she ordered for herself.
