Only giving it a 4 stars because there was no elevator. We had a big family event in the area and a lot of people stayed at various places and all of them had elevators so we were surprised this place doesn't. We had a family member that had a disability which made it difficult to go up and down the stairs. But we stayed in Numa in both Milan and here and we like Numa and will stay with them again.

Stunning place with stunning view! A great kitchenette and all the necessities are available. Fair warning, there is no elevator and we were on the top floor so I wouldn’t recommend that room for any elderly or movement impaired guests. That aside, FANTASTIC location. 10/10

Our stay at Palazzo Belofiore was wonderful. The establishment itself is beautifully preserved and centuries old architectural features are evident but updated with modern convenience. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean and the beds were very nice memory foam. The staff and manager - Federico - were warm, welcoming, and helpful, showing us the features of the beautiful rooms and helping us with excellent recommendations for restaurants and sites. Very good location, walking distance from everything. I would stay here again and recommend to all my friends.

Booking with Belfiore and contacting them was pretty easy. The 15 minute walk from the train station is rough with luggage, there were very bumpy stone roads most of the way. But it is 75 euros to have them book you a car one way. We were in the CATERINA DE’ MEDICI apartment, all the way at the top. She said it was about 70 stairs. It was miserable with big luggage. The girl working the reception area helped us with our luggage (she carried one of my daughter’s bags up) for which I was thankful. The girl who helped us to our apartment was very full of information , explaining how everything works and offering suggestions for restaurants. The apartment was charming, very clean, and well taken care of. During the time we were here, it was record breaking heat outside. The apartment was not cooled off and was showing 25 degrees Celsius (77 f). We were drenched in sweat from the walk to the apartment and then up the stairs. We put the AC down to 18 because that’s the lowest it would go, but it did not cool off the first night at all. We closed all of the shades and didn’t let any sun in and the next day was better, but still kind of warm. You couldn’t come in from the outside and cool off unless you took a cold shower. There are some things that I personally didn’t care for, but I do realize we are in another country. I would have personally opted for a hotel with more modern conveniences but we were limited because we were a family of 5 and to stay together most places, it had to be an apartment. So here is my list: The showers are TINY. If you try to bend over and wash at all, you are touching the wall. Also, there is nowhere to put your toiletries (very little room on the sink and no shelves) and no shelves for shampoo/soap in the shower, it has to go on the floor. The drains filled up, so you are standing in water the whole time. There isn’t any place to lounge in the common area- only a Victorian style couch that isn’t comfy and a dining room table. The beds were kind of hard and I woke up with a sore back each morning. All in all, I wanted to give this a fair review. This place may be perfect for some, but not for us. Best of luck in your travels!

Owner is nice and helpful. Location is great, however, the apartment is slightly dated. For taller people, the loft isn't for you; you'll constantly hit your head if you're not paying attention. Toilets also have a design flaw where the seat is unable to stay up and you either have to sit or hold it up with one hand while you do your business. Otherwise, it is a very nice, well-kept apartment with a washing machine!

This is the perfect place to stay if you want something truly unique from your stay in Florence. The host is very passionate about the history of this building and will recommend the best places the eat, drink, and shop in Florence. The apartments are very clean and comfortable, each with their own charm.

This palazzo is charming and has some historic and thoughtful details. It is very convenient to nearby points of interest. We were allowed to check in early. It is the most memorable of our accommodations in Europe feom the room set up and general aesthetic. For the price, it is expensive enough that there should not be any small issues to detract from the experience. There is no elevator. While the lack of an elevator is understandable in a historic building. Above a certain price point, an elevator is expected. While the lights on the lower stairs are on a motion sensor, the lights on the upper floors are on a standard light switch which we didn't find until later in our stay. It is difficult to find coming home after dark. We were using our cell phone lights instead. While laundry detergent and softener were provided with the laundry machines in the basement, the clothes dryer wasn't working. We bought tokens from the staff and washed three loads of clothes and learned after one attempt at drying that a technician was scheduled to come fix the dryer. This means that the dryer problem was known to someone, but that it was not communicated among the palazzo staff. No sign was placed on the dryer to signal that it was out of order. We needed to carry wet and heavy laundry 5 minutes away to the laundromat after spending three euros on the broken dryer. The laundromat was less expensive and also included detergent. There were two bathrooms, and while it was nice to have two toilets, the water heater would only allow one shower to operate at a time and not both concurrently. The kitchen was very well equipped but the flatware was located in the dining table drawer which we did not find it until the second day. Our lower portico door keys did not work well. We had two sets of keys and had to jiggle them while turning to get them to open the door lock to the street. While frustrating, it would have been more unpleasant in the rain. There is a lack of communication among the staff that needs to be corrected. The higher the price, the less tolerable these minor inconveniences are.

Loved this place. Federico was extremely accommodating. Stayed in 2 different apartments - both outstanding. First floor with Fresco was beautiful and very comfortable for our family! Top floor apartment was great as well, loved the loft in the bedroom! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I normally never give a place a five star rating but every once in awhile it is very deserved. Palazzo Belfiore is a gem in the city of Florence. A 14th century palazzo with several apartments available for rent for vacation stays. Besides the fact that it is extremely representative of the city. Each apartment has a kitchen angle, free wifi and a unique layout. Lots of antique furniture and interesting pieces. Plus the service is what makes them stand out. They go out of their way for guests and even do a little special something for those celebrating a birthday or anniversary. They also can help with artisan tours, and other various local suggestions on where to eat and what to visit. the price range is great and the surrounding neighborhood is one of the best in the city. Highly recommend for those looking for a unique stay in Florence to feel 'like a local'

Yelp
Traveling with my family this was truly the perfect place to stay in the beautiful city of Florence. The apartment style residences were spacious and had an authentic feel that made our stay very enjoyable. The apartment was fully stocked with amenities and very clean. The location of the residence was ideal in that all major attractions in the city were within a 15 minute walk but the nearby surrounding area was quiet with good restaurants and cafés. The best part of our stay however was the staff. Above and beyond help and assistance with any questions or concerns we had. The head of staff Federico truly cared about our stay and made sure out stay was enjoyable. Highly recommend this place if staying in Florence!

Yelp
The Palazzo Belfiore in Florence was one of the highlights of our stay in Italy. Usually, when we travel, we focus on the activities and think of our hotel as just a place to sleep. The Palazzo felt more like our own apartment away from home, and Federico and his team really made us feel like residents and family rather than hotel guests. We loved our apartment so much that we actually spent an afternoon just hanging out in our room, canceling other plans we had for the day. The location of the Palazzo was perfect! Just a little walk away from the Pitti and Ponte Vecchio. It's close to many of these and other busy tourist sites, but it also somehow felt apart from the busy-ness of the city. We definitely recommend the Palazzo Belfiore. If we ever return to Florence, we are definitely going back there!
