A lovely little shop with real attention to detail. The packaging is elegant and beautifully presented, and the service is professional and friendly. The caramels are outstanding with twelve flavours in total. My favourites are Rum Raisin and Almond, absolutely delicious!

Come here when you're in Japan or live in regret! These caramels are phenomenal!! The first time I had these caramels, I nearly cried because I waited to try them until I got back to the States only to learn you can only buy these in person. They are perfectly soft and melt in your mouth with subtle yet clear flavors. The shop can run out of the individual flavors earlier in the day because they're so delicious, but they still had all the flavors when I went recently around 2pm. The packaging is lovely and each box contains a little description of each numbered flavor (including in English). The store employees are kind and warm, and they gave me gift bags for each item in my one big bag (that way I'm not carrying around tons of bags). I only buy these for my very favorite people and make sure to get two of the large boxes for myself. I waited two long years to have these again and it was worth the wait. Until next time I'm in Japan, Number Sugar!

It's okay. Packaging & concept are nice though. But basically it's homemade caramel, the flavor is not that special, so set your expectation.

I stumbled upon Number Sugar during my trip to Tokyo, and it was worth the walk off the main street. This charming little shop specializes in handcrafted caramel sweets, and you can tell they put their heart into every piece. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the warm, buttery aroma of caramel—it was heavenly! Number Sugar was established with the concept of creating all-natural, additive-free caramels that bring out the rich, pure flavors of their ingredients. Each caramel is carefully handmade, reflecting the owner’s passion for simplicity and quality. It’s become a hidden gem among both locals and tourists looking for an artisanal sweet treat. They offer a beautiful box of 12 individually packed caramels, each with a unique flavor like vanilla, orange, ginger, and matcha. Unfortunately, most of the loose caramel flavors were sold out by the time I arrived. If you’re keen to try the full range of flavors, I recommend heading there early in the day because these caramels are in high demand. I managed to grab a few flavors, and they did not disappoint. Each one was perfectly balanced—rich, creamy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The shop itself is minimalist and elegant, reflecting the premium quality of their sweets. Despite being tucked away, the journey to find it felt like part of the experience. The friendly staff made the visit even better, and the stylish packaging makes these caramels a perfect gift for loved ones or a luxurious treat for yourself. If you’re in Tokyo and looking for a unique snack or gift, Number Sugar is a must-visit. It’s a true testament to the beauty of simple, well-crafted food. Just don’t sleep in, or you might miss out on the best flavors!

Best hand made caramel bar. My favorite, ginger, coffee, apple and cinnamon, orange peels. Perfect small box to offer as gift

The shop is famous for its delectable handmade caramel candies. Candies are sweet and chewy, highly recommended for those with a sweet tooth. The candies come with extremely pretty boxes that you wouldn’t bear to unbox them! The shop went for a minimalist decor which would immediately remind you of an Apple Store.

Number Sugar in Omotesando, Shibuya, is renowned for its exceptional handmade caramels, making it a popular destination for those with a sweet tooth. The store's selection features a variety of flavors including classic caramel, vanilla, and sea salt, catering to diverse tastes. The pretty rose packaging makes it great for unique gifts. Apart from its main store, Number Sugar also operates a factory shop in Sendagaya. This location offers a special experience, allowing visitors to observe the meticulous process of caramel making in a pristine, laboratory-style setting. The shop sells a range of flavors like chocolate, raspberry, and ginger, available both individually wrapped and in pre-boxed assortments.

Delicious sweet candy, especially numbers 1 (Vanilla) , 7 (Almond) , and 12 (Brown sugar). The sweet candy sell out very quickly, so if you want to have some, recommended to come right when the shop opens at 11:00 am. If you come late, there's a chance they might be sold out, as the shop closes once they're sold out.

Yelp
Love this awesome confectionary! We stopped by here to get ourselves some omiyage (souvenir gifts) for family. We ended up buying just a couple of flavors to try for ourselves until we decided to try one right outside to store and realized we needed to get ourselves a full box as well. The flavors are all so delicious and the textures is delicate. Cannot recommend this enough for those who might want to buy a light-weight, delicious souvenir for family/friends back home if you're traveling.

Yelp
Thanks to Jason H for recommending this confectionary in Omestsando. He has been raving about the caramels here for quite some time and we made a point to search for it this trip. Purchased one of each of the 12 flavors to sample and I can confidentially say all 11 are amazing. I'm not a huge ginger fan but the others were awesome. Will be heading back before we fly home to load up. Be sure to head there early as they are known to sell out quickly. The lady in front of us ending up leaving with 8 huge bags of their caramels.

Yelp
Beautiful store selling delicious treats!! They had 13 different flavor of caramels to choose from and we bought quite a few. Their candies are soft, not too chewy and SO tasty!! My favorite were the salted caramel and the cinnamon tea. They also sold caramel sauces and I'm a little embarrassed to say my boys and I tried every one!!

Yelp
A caramel specialty store off of Cat Street in Omotesando/Meiji-jingu Mae area. Sometimes, a delicious sweets shop finds you, instead of you finding it. My co-workers and I were wondering the Cat Street Shopping district after checking out a new shopping building "Six harajuku terrace". All the sudden, this cute looking store confronts us. We all know the city well, but we all had no idea what was sold inside "Number Sugar". Do they sell sugar? Does not sound a profitable business in Aoyama. Inside, I see a kitchen with workers cleaning it. It was late in the day, so I guess they were finishing up whatever they were making. Lets checkout the products. I see a box with 12 sticks wrapped in white paper with a number on it. Not until I read the description did I realize that these were caramels. The number represented the taste of each caramel like vanilla, salt, chocolate, raspberry, etc. COST: A box of 12 was 1100 Yen. That a bit less than 100 Yen per stick. Cheap or expensive. Hmmmm. Hard to say. TASTE: Delicious. I had never tasted caramel this good. They use natural ingredients and make them in-house. CONCLUSION: There are plenty of premium chocolate shops, but not one that specializes in caramel. For some reason, it is fair to charge 500 Yen per piece of chocolate, but you are not allowed to charge so much for caramel. Less then 100 Yen per stick I think is very reasonable. In fact, I kept wondering how this place stays in business at a such high rent district. You better sell lots of 100 Yen caramels to pay rent. All I know is that I get the same kick eating 100 Yen caramel as eating 500 Yen chocolate, so I will keep coming back here for more.

Yelp
Homeade caramels that specialize in caramel, made with real ingredients in simplistic wrapping. Each number on the wrapper designates a flavor such as salt, vanilla, chocolate, etc. The flavor and texture is too good. Definitely hit this up if you're in the area walking/shopping.

Yelp
I am in love! Number Sugar is a homemade caramel shop. Everything is made in the shop; the kitchen is on the right and you'll find the chef stirring his pots of caramel while another staff is sitting on one side hand wrapping each piece of cooled caramel in simple white wrappers. My god, the same in here is heavenly! When I walked in today, they were just making ginger caramel....my eyes rolled all the why the back of my head as I go on a natural high. I immediately looked around to see if they had a posting to hire because I sooooooo wish I can live here!!! The shop is decorated like an old chemist or candy shop with a round wooden table in the middle of the store, displaying caramel in different types of cans and packaging. In the front of the shop is the small low table, a sofa and a few stools if you want to sit down and nibble on your caramel. Oh yes! They also sell coffee by the kitchen!! It's love at first sight for me, I'm so glad I got nosy and walked in. I now declare myself a loyal fan of Number Sugar!
