Very friendly outstanding customer service. The owner is down to earth and make sure that you leave the store with a smile on your face. Reasonable price. You can find everything you need to make all kinds of Ethiopian food.

Tiny store run by warm, kind, hospitable people at the intersection of Amsterdam and 164th Street. This is in all-in-one kind of place where you can get delicious, ultra-spongy injera bread either pre-packaged or freshly made in minutes for you; meat chopped to your exact specifications for authentic Ethiopian dishes; hot spice pastes (berbere) and fragrant spiced butter (kibbe) to experiment with at home; or clothing, housewares and cosmetics directly from Africa. This is one of those gotta-experience-it-to-believe-it kind of places that really shouldn’t be missed if you enjoy ethnic food!

Nunu Ethiopian Grocery Store in Harlem is such a great spot! It’s a staple for the growing Ethiopian scene in NYC—restaurants, cafes, and home cooks alike can rely on them for fresh injera, spices, and other home-grown essentials. They had a good amount of everything we needed, and the injera was wonderful! What really stood out was the amazing girl working there who helped carry all our bags to the car—so sweet and thoughtful! Parking isn’t great (typical NYC), but I’ll definitely be coming back. Totally worth it!

My friend and I visited this store and it was a wonderful experience! The store has many natural Ethiopian products -- all moderately priced. The owner was also so nice! She invited my friend and I to drink coffee and eat Ethiopian snacks in a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony style - great hospitality!

A wonderful smell when you walk in. Lots of spices and coffee to choose from. Even more, you can pay in advance and then return later for a DELICIOUS meal in the back. Room for 2 or 3 people tops. Very hospitable store owners, served generous portions of chickpea stew, collard greens, and spiced chicken. So worth the experience, they all made sure I was happy.

Yelp
Nunu Ethiopian is a hidden treasure! After wanting to cook some Ethiopian food at home, Nunu saved the day with their extensive supply of spices, legumes, and freshly made injera!! Nunu was very kind and helpful, as she helped me find the items I was looking for!! I was also so happy to see that they sell frozen foods if you want something already prepared. I also ordered one of the sambusas, and they were AMAZING!! The store is small, but had everything one needs!! I also think the prices are reasonable for the quantity and more importantly, quality, of the goods offered. I was so happy to find an Ethiopian store in nyc and I look forward to returning!!

Yelp
A tiny sliver of a place run by warm and hospitable people with amazing fresh and frozen Ethiopian spice pastes, flavorful herb butters and spongey injera flatbreads the size of a giant frisbee. It's one of those "only in New York" ethnic foodie finds that will make you glad you made the trek up to Amsterdam and 164th.

Yelp
Wonderful place! I went to get frozen gluten free injera, and while I was there they let me try their qwanta (Ethiopian spiced beef jerky). It was sooo good, I bought a package and have been eating it all day! They also let me know that you can order fresh made gluten free injera if you call three days in advance. They are very welcoming and generous and lovely and sell delicious, high quality food!

Yelp
The products are delicious and great. I love the owner's customer service skills. She's so gracious and respectful. I bought injera, kolo, some spices, bulla etc in multiple occasions. Was never disappointed
