Been coming to this place since I was a kid. Food has stayed amazing throughout. But the golf experience is far from what I expected. All I wanted was the drive some balls. My cadie let me hit about 20 balls with the iron which he said was the warmup. But when he came back and I said I wanted to use the driver he complained it’s too far and basically took all the clubs to the putt putt area. Afterwards, when the session ended he asked for a tip and I said no and went to sit with my family. Then I left for the bathroom, and when I came back. He apparently walked up to my elderly parents and basically forced them to tip an insane amount!!!! I am beyond embarrassed. I came on this trip to relive the days my parents brought me when I was younger and now I have a very sour taste now for this club. Been a member here since forever but now I’m not so sure.

Located at a height of 6000 feet I was hoping my drives would rival Rory's but alas not. It is not cheap although we opted for 10 holes instead of the full 18 and this was a good choice. We went early and had the course to ourselves guided by 2 lovely caddies. Club hire a bit of a lottery and not as cheap as it should have been but we didnt come to SL to paly golf and this was just a super little bonus when our itinerary changed. We skipped around in an hour and a half and were back at the Grand hotel (walking distance) by 0915 which didn't the day much at all. Greens were dewy and slow despite sterling efforts by the green staff and the crows will try and steal your ball whenever they can but it all added to the fun. Some lovlery holes. If you have a spare couple of hours and you are a golfer then I would strongly reccommend

RESTAURANT ONLY Authentic colonial golf club with decent English food. Recommended to wear proper footwear to access the fancier bar for drinks before dinner. ! Do not take the vegetable pie! It is not a pie, it is a vegetables plate with egg sauce

If you enjoy golf then don't miss this course. Beautiful surroundings, well maintained, not too hard but challenging at times and very reasonable prices if you need to hire clubs with your round. The caddy's have generations of course experience and know each home inside out. Support the caddy's as they work very hard to make a living

Very nice place. Rooms are neat and clean and bigger in size. Staff is also generous. Design of the houses built in Nuwara Eliya are Common in design. Sometimes it is also called as Mini London.

Didn't stay so can't report on rooms. Played 10 holes, Caddie was good, tees and fairway decent, there had been a lot of rain in the previous days so the greens were not great. Worm casts causing chaos. Had a couple of puts that were looking great but took rather abnormal breaks as they approached the pin. The course is narrow with some interesting, tricky holes weaving their way right through the middle of town which is unique. Rental clubs were fine for me (I'm a casual golfer currently playing off 25). Not cheap, but, worth it for the experience and memories. The clubhouse is a classic. Full of colonial charm. We played snooker with a couple of the hosts. They were both great fun and very encouraging. Our snooker skills not the best! Definitely worth a look if you're an enthusiastic golfer (purists may not be 100% satisfied). Even just to come check the clubhouse out is recommended. Bring a sweat shirt, it gets a bit chilly at 1900m above sea level!
