Extremely disappointed with our Valentine’s Day experience. We made this reservation specifically because of the prix fixe menu advertised on the restaurant’s website, which clearly listed the dishes being offered and $100+ per person. When we were finally seated, we weren’t going to look at the menu as we had already known what we wanted, but were unpleasantly surprised to find out they had changed the menu — and not slightly. The more premium dishes we were looking forward to had been removed entirely. If the menu was going to be different, that should have been communicated in advance. It felt misleading.
To make matters worse, we waited over 30 minutes past our reservation time. We were placed at the bar “temporarily,” yet multiple parties who arrived after us were seated before we were. We had to remind the staff that we were still waiting. While standing there, the bar staff repeatedly pushed drinks on us even after we declined, explaining we preferred to wait until we were seated and eating.
Once seated, the food was a letdown. Portions weren’t just small — they were bite-sized. The soup was so shallow you had to tilt the bowl just to get a spoon under it. The appetizer we initially wanted wasn’t even available anymore due to the menu changes. For the entrée, we both had to order the same dish because the other option we were excited about had also been removed. While the entrée itself was decent, it didn’t make up for everything else.
Service throughout the night was painfully slow. We sat with empty entre plates for about 20 minutes, and they were only cleared when a server noticed one of us had finished our wine and asked if we wanted another drink. Dessert was the final disappointment — after a couple of bites, it was obvious something was off. The creme brulee didn’t even come with the berries that were advertised. It may sound like a small detail, but at this price point, accuracy matters.
The entire evening felt like a cash grab built on false advertising. Poor planning, poor management, and poor service made what should have been a special Valentine’s Day dinner incredibly frustrating. I would highly recommend spending your money elsewhere.
