These Wintery Airbnbs Are Straight Out of a Hallmark Movie | Condé Nast Traveler

"With its Bavarian village and Cascade Mountain backdrop, Leavenworth is the ultimate Christmas destination (in fact, Cloudy With a Chance of Christmas was filmed here). This mountain cabin is full of midcentury-modern charm, complete with a record player and plenty of plush seating areas to chill out in as you gaze at the surrounding forest through floor-to-ceiling windows. There is a bevy of cozy amenities throughout, like comfy flannel throws, room-darkening shades, and a supply of fluffy slippers, and furry friends are welcome, too." - Jamie Spain, Jessica Sulima

Meadow Wood Lodge is our favorite winter cabin. We’ve been coming annually for the past 14 years and every time, we have found the place to be cozy, inviting, clean and absolutely wonderful! And Comfy Cabins is a fantastic company to work with. They are communicative, helpful and support a beautiful experience all around.

We had a truly wonderful time at River Road Lodge. We were a group of 16, which is always hard to find accommodations for, and this was just a lovely spot for us. The pool and hot tub were really fun, and there was plenty of space within the house to hang out and play board games, ping pong, pool, or just laze about and watch T.V. The kitchen was very well equipped and seemed to understand the demands of hosting 16 people with an industrial sized fridge/freezer, separate beverage fridge, and an industrial stove. The staff were very responsive and accommodating. All in all we had a great time!

Very nice inside, comfortable, cozy, and fantastic internet speeds as well. Fenced-off porch is great for dogs (though be careful if your pup is very small, they might be able to squeeze under the gate), and there's a nice green lawn to play on. Very dark skies make for great stargazing! A nice curvy 20-minute drive from downtown Leavenworth. This place was fantastic, I'd definitely stay here again!

Don't stay here, or any of the NW Comfy cabins by RedAwning. We saved money for a long time to be able to take a vacation, and the condo was horrible. The wall unit air conditioners in every room were malfunctioning and made extremely loud noises all night. We got no sleep, to the point we shut them off even though it was in the mid 90s. I communicated with the staff all weekend. They offered to move us, but it was more of a hassle than staying. We had already stocked the fridge and already unpacked. They wouldn't send anyone to fix the problem and wouldn't even give us a discount for thier mechanical issue and for ruining our trip. Also, they have an exorbitant $400+ service fee that they tack on without it being clearly defined through Expedia. Oh, but they did bring us a jar of earplugs. Because everyone who pays 700$ a night wants to wear earplugs to bed.... Find somewhere else to stay, NW Comfy Cabins is poorly managed annd only care about your money. They don't care about you or your families vacation experience or hardship.

My husband and I stayed in the Das Tree Haus in Plain, WA August 27th - 31st 2018 and it was magical. We were overly impressed with the whole setup. The cabin was clean and up to date with still keeping the cabin feel. The view was INCREDIBLE. The bed was soft and comfortable. The water pressure was perfect and it was so great to have a washer and dryer unit. Plus, on the virtual tour you don't get to see the loft above so that was an added bonus. There is a futon, beanbags and a whole wall of VHS tapes, mostly Disney. Its about 15-20mins from Leavenworth but there are the local grocery and hardware stores just down the hill, which includes a full coffee shop inside. The river and lakes are close as well as Mountain Springs Lodge which has ziplining and horseback riding. The hot tub was so relaxing. Also dog friendly!!! We most definitely will be back. I already want to go back. Only thing to watch out for is in the day time, all week long for us, there were quite a few bees on the deck which made it challenging to be outside during the morning and afternoons but for us we were out doing things most days so it didn't bother us that much. They disappeared in the evenings.

***UPDATED BELOW*** There is no way I can give this trip a 5 Star. This is the third time we have stayed at Camp David and will probably be the last. We arrived Friday 8/1, unloaded the car and headed to town to have dinner before seeing Carousal. The show ended about 10:30 and we stopped by Safeway as there wasn't sugar for our coffee. We returned to the cabin abound 11:30 to not one light shining anywhere on the property. The light by the parking area was off. I would assume it would be photosensitive to provide light once the sun sets. We were able to use the phone flashlights to reach the porch without tripping. That night I tried to charge my phone and watch on the nightstand closest to the outside wall. Didn't matter which plug I tried, it immediately fell out of the socket. The next morning, I showered. I travel many times a year for both business and pleasure and have never had a worse showerhead. Ever. Later that evening, we jumped in the jacuzzi to find that less than half of the jets were operational. Didn't matter what tricks we tried with the dials. But the piece de resistance was Sunday morning at 4:00AM when we were awaken to what sounded like a train outside the bedroom window. It stopped after about 10 seconds and not sure what it was, we laid back down to sleep, only to have the same sound happen 2 minutes later. And then 2 minutes after that. We realized it was the sprinkler system spraying water at the side of the cabin. This unbelievably loud noise happened every 2 minutes for ONE HOUR! Guess what happened Tuesday morning at 4:00AM? Yes. Another hour laying awake listening to a "every 2 minute" wakeup call. My 2 cents to your reply: Lighting ***When we were leaving, I saw the big light near the parking area. Shame on me for assuming it would be on when we got back. Sugar ***Suppling coffee but no sugar or powder creamer doesn't make much sense. I wasn't complaining. Just surprised. Bedroom Outlet ***Then you must have adjusted or replaced it as there was no way a plug was staying in that outlet. Showerhead ***If it is the same showerhead from our first visit, that was 10 years ago. Might be time for a change or at least cleaning. Hot Tub Jets ***Not true. I turned every dial, in every combination. Sure a small jet (very minimal) came out, but the jets closest to the cabin were the only one that had any power at all. Sprinklers ***Ok, two things. We were not going to get out of bed at 4:00AM and "fix" an issue that should never have been an issue. Secondly, we had no idea it was going to happen again. Mark, we truly strive to create a comfortable, enjoyable experience for every guest. What’s most disappointing is that we were not given the chance to resolve these issues during your stay. Many of these concerns could have been addressed within minutes. ***We were not concerned with the first 5 points. Number 6 was ridiculous. It never should have happened. Whoever set up the path of that spray didn't have a clue what they were doing. And as I said above, we had no idea it was going to happen again. I will be posting a public response to your review as well, since it impacts not only our company but also the future of this particular cabin. We greatly value our returning guests, and I hope you’ll consider that open communication during your stay could have led to a far better outcome for everyone. I hope you also might reconsider your review and remove it, since we were unaware of these concerns during your stay. Had we been given the opportunity, we could have resolved each of them quickly to ensure a more enjoyable experience for you. ***I would not have even posted the review if you had responded to my email reply to your "Share your experience" email I sent 8/5. All I got was crickets. ***Do what you must, but the most glaring thing in this email is not once did you apologize or say you were sorry. That speaks volumes about your company.

This home was grand, photos do not do it justice. The setting it is serene, the home is gorgeous, everything was well stocked, located with access on and to the river. We had a little issue with the hot tub but they came right out and fixed it right away, highly responsive on all levels. Asked for earlier check in and was accommodated. Very communicative. Professional. Friendly. We will book again!

Yelp
We had a really great experience! We booked our stay at Journey's End through Airbnb for a party of 4 in early September. It cost us a little over $2k, which was a little more than we would've liked to have paid, but wasn't completely outrageous. We wanted a cabin on a fishable lake, so we knew we would have to pay a bit more for that. The check in process was super easy through the Airbnb app- we were given the door code to the main building, which had keys to the exterior unit. There was a gift bag with snacks waiting for us. The kitchen had everything that we would need- pots & pans, cookware, plates, cutlery, etc. There were a bunch of towels and extra blankets if we needed them (which we didn't- it was a warm weekend). Wifi was great & streaming a movie on the tv was very fast. The view from the cabin, dock, and hot tub- all just wow! My husband also loved that he could fish from the dock- and yes, we did catch some fish! Highly recommend.

Yelp
After taking some time to reflect on my new comfy cabin experience I've come to realize that staying there was one of the most miserable experiences I've ever had

Yelp
Now each cabin will be unique, but our stay in the Riffle River cabin was nothing short of extraordinarily. The check-in process was super easy with the Hospitality app, complete with lock code, directions, and more. Upon arrival, we had a lovely gift bag with bottle of wine and snacks - yay! The location is beautiful and serene - take note that it's a bit of a drive from Downtown Leavenworth- 35 minutes on pretty and windy road. The cabin itself: WOW! Inside was wonderful, and outside even better - the patio is huge and sits right on the river. it was a perfect 75 degree weekend, so we spent much of our time sitting and soaking it up. No better way to drink a cup of coffee in the AM. Dont forget the game room! Pool table, ping pong, air hockey, and foosball. Our boys were in heaven. The kitchen is large and probably the best equipped I have ever had in a rental. Well done. We will be back!

Yelp
I stayed at the Peace of Pine cabin just 20 minutes away from Leavenworth. It's a cute little modern cabin that sleeps 4 with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. It has a hot tub, bbq gas grill and a gas fire pit on the patio. They offer Netflix, AmazonPrime and Hulu on the smart TV. They also have free WiFi. Both bedrooms offer a queen size bed. The living room, dining area and kitchen is an open concept so it's very roomy for what is considered a small cabin. The backyard is very spacious. The guide says to wash all the towels at checkout but I didn't find a washer and dryer at this cabin. Also upon checking out I found a few spiders in the closet which freaked me out but overall the cabin was clean and we had no other issues. We want to come back here with friends or check out their other cabins.

Yelp
I've been booking properties through NW Comfy Cabins for literally over five years now. Anniversaries, Oktoberfest, Christmas getaways... You name it, they've got the right place to stay for it! Leavenworth is one of my personal favorite places (even though it gets STUPID busy) and I don't even check hotels - I just book through Comfy Cabins. I've stayed in a number of their cabins and every experience I've had has been amazing. Each cabin has been clean, modern, and always with a hot tub, which can't be beat when you're actually out somewhere where you can see the stars at night. I most recently stayed at the Alpine Acres property for a group of six, all with our infants, and we had a fantastic stay. It was the one time I've had to text management about a couple questions I had and all my questions were answered within an hour. I'm staying again in December at their Salmon Chalet property over the weekend so my family and I can go to the Tree Lighting, and I can't wait! It'll be my first time getting a cabin when it'll be snowy out there (hopefully, anyways) and I'm STOKED. Another thing that's great about them is they often run promos during the year as well as giving discount codes to repeat bookers. On top of that, there's been a few times I've needed to tweak the final payment date/plan, and they've always been SO accommodating and helpful. I wish I could give them more stars. I can't wait to keep booking with them over the years to come! Maybe one day I'll be able to say I've stayed at every one of their properties!

Yelp
What an incurable cabin! Not only does this cabin have great amenities such as the fire pits, hot tub, kitchen and nice beds, but they pay attention to the small details too such as plenty of stuff for your pets, free gifts, games, etc. It is just far enough away from the neighbors that you will not hear them but far enough that you feel stranded and it is 15 minutes from downtown. The connection getting there is pretty poor so they had sent instructions on how to get there and anything else we needed before we even left which gave us plenty of time to figure things out. This is the best way to spend your time in Leavenworth!

Yelp
We rented a house near downtown Leavenworth for our daughter's birthday. The listing was called All Seasons Seasonal Pool and Hot tub, and wifi and a photo of the house with a pool. It felt like their main selling point was an outdoor, heated pool. The pool was closed, wifi didn't work, and the house was shabby with paint peeling of the walls. For the amount of money we paid we could have had a lovely stay at Suncadia. This place is a scam, with vague, deceptive advertising and terrible customer service. The on call technician was rude and unprofessional and just wanted to argue. We paid $1500 for 2 nights. After I explained the situation to the property manager, she didn't care, passive-aggressively blamed me for not reading the fine print and condesendingly offered to buy my kids' ice cream worth $50. Spend your hard earn money literally anywhere else.

Yelp
We booked a cabin in February, but my mom died suddenly and we weren't able to go. The folks at NW Comfy Cabins were completely unsympathetic and still charged us the full amount. The major airlines were far more understanding and accommodating, which is really saying something. Would never book with these folks again.

Yelp
We had a very nice stay at Alpine Lake Escape. The cabin is nice and in a great location. The scenery is beautiful and the Bavarian Village is just a 25 minute drive from the cabin. My son discovered the long downhill driveway is great to sled down and so he is 100% all about Alpine Lake Escape. What would make this location 5 Stars you ask? * having the deck shoveled and de-iced, we would have done it ourselves but if we had scraped the wood on the deck NW Comfy Cabins would have gotten us for damage to the property. There are lots of rules and we didn't want to risk it. We emailed info@comfycabins.com and did not receive a response so we could not really use that space. *old spoiled food left if the kitchen cabinets, we discarded it but these were clearly things opened and used by previous guests. These are minor things and NW Comfy Cabins is accommodating and flexible as I was late with my final payment and they were kind enough to extend the deadline for me as I was traveling and could not access my funds. We would stay again next Christmas and even tried to book it on our last day but the dates we wanted were not available. C'est la vie.

Yelp
I booked a cabin through this business and decided to call since I hadn't heard from them three days before my check-in date. No return call, but an email was sent about how to check in. Forty-five minutes later, I received another email stating "As it turns out, we will not be able to accommodate your reservation at this property." After a restless night, I called as early as possible and Jessica said she would try alternate locations. When we hung up, I was left feeling as though my vacation was not a priority for this business. I found another rental through Air B&B and called back to ask for a refund. My money was refunded, however, I was left feeling as though my business wasn't important to them. One apology was NOT enough for the inconvenience and stress of finding another rental in two days.

Yelp
Winter wonderland! What an amazing lakefront cabin in the woods. We were lucky enough to get to visit for a long weekend and stayed in a snow covered cabin...but the wonderful property had been plowed and shoveled before we arrived. Check in was easy and the views of the people ice fishing and sledding on the frozen lake made for a picturesque weekend. Thanks again!

Yelp
Comfy Cabins is a management company, the quality of their offerings depends on the property selected - and price paid. This company is really passionate about their work and is on the clock 24 hours a day to address any concerns people have. They have maintenance people on staff to fix any issues with properties, and their commitment to be the best is indisputable.

Yelp
I booked a cabin via Airbnb which was managed by NW Comfy Cabins. I made a mistake with the booked dates, and the host was quickly accommodating and was able to get the dates re-booked for the correct time. At the time of booking, a small fire less than 1/10th of an acre was burning about 20 miles away and the forest service publicized no plans to implement firefighting. This led us to believe it was at little to no risk of spreading out of control. A few weeks later the fire was at 1,500 acres and 0% contained. This caused an AQI (air quality index) rating of 301, which is classified as not simply dangerous but hazardous to all humans regardless of sensitivity level or existing conditions. I reached out to the host twice to inquire about refund policies for circumstances where we felt unsafe or at risk of possible harm/death. Because of my lifelong severe asthma, I would have essentially been confined to stay in the AirBNB the entire time, when the original plan was outdoor recreation in the area. Any semi decent host with even an ounce of empathy or understanding would have cared more about ensuring their guests had a positive and pleasant experience that didn't put them at risk of death or severe harm. Instead, NW Comfy Cabins prioritized pocketing half of the booking cost from folks who saved all year to take this trip, meaning we not only forfeit half the cost but we also cannot get these vacation dates back and are now left with not even enough refund money to try to salvage the vacation and do something else enjoyable. The host continued to assert that the town was not worried about the fire reaching them, but failed to address the air quality concerns related to my severe asthma. Local live cameras placed for monitoring fires are located less than 10 miles from the property, and show visibility at 0 - thick black smoke covers the sky where normally a gorgeous cascade view would be visible. I am a local to this state, I did my research on nearby fires when booking, no one could have predicted this explosion in poor conditions, yet the host continued to insist they could predict better weather and air in the coming days. My family has managed vacation rentals for 15+ years and I would never show so little empathy as NW Comfy Cabins did for guest experience and safety. I will absolutely never do business with this company in the future. This was a heartless experience and I hope you sleep well on a bed of other folks money whose entire chance at the one vacation they take a year is now destroyed. Breathe easy out there.

Yelp
Fees on fees. Hidden cameras to spy on you while you stay to. We were charged $830.00 total for a stinky 2 bedroom 70s single wide in Leavenworth. They will add so many fees on the base rate your head will spin. If you stay here twice a year you probably can afford a downpayment to purchase the rental. I should have went to Hawaii.

Sonam S.

Yelp
Arrived at the location opened the door when the handle came off. The room wreaked of a certain stench from the carpet throughout the house. Buyer Beware- WE went during the summer months so it was hot and they had fans in every room. There were curtains not attached and the swimming pool was dirty with flies all over. We paid $600 a night and expected better as I was taking my family for a short vacation. It was a total nightmare with floors creeking and the stench was the worse so we had to bail the very next day

Yelp
I have stayed in or near Leavenworth at Comfy Cabins several times now. The first time I stayed was at "Riversong Retreat". To this day my boyfriend and two kids say it was the best times of their lives. We drove up to see the lightening festival in our new 2 door Honda coupe and do know that during December there is a ton of snow! We ended up getting snowed in at the cabin because there was extreme snowfall. It worked out because we spent all day in the hot tub, around the fireplace, and mostly playing in the snow. We built a jump down the front driveway on a little hill and broke all of our sleds and were in tears from laughing. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything for a magical stay. Somehow the next day, the snow stopped and the plows came, and we made it out just in the knick of time. Since then we have made it tradition to come back every summer and every December and we have always booked through Comfy Cabins. We also bought ourselves a 4x4. The summer is just as beautiful as winter. We have stayed at Bear Paw, Rivers Run, and next week at Thyme Out. They've all been perfect and exceeded our expectations. It's my kids favorite time of year to go to Leavenworth and stay at the cabins. We look forward to it. All the cabins seem unique in their own way but are all set-up perfectly. From the little decorations the owners have picked out to the amenities. Hot tub. Picnic table. Hammocks. Fire places. It's where we go to getaway and forget about all the work and just relax and have a good time!

Yelp
RE: 8 Fawn Lane between Plain & Leavenworth WA. Owned by the Stevens, Comfy Cabins is the realty who handles reservations, payment, key code & address. The cabin was beautiful, the housekeeper needs to clean better. One of the bedspreads was dirty, the 2 throw blankets had not been washed, I washed one the morning of check out & put the second one on top of the washer for housekeeping to wash, whether she washed it is unknown. One side table lamp in the living area did not work even after I changed the bulb, same issue with a lamp in one of the bedrooms. Dry Coffee spills inside kitchen cupboards, dirty on bottom of cupboard where garbage can is kept under the sink. The bed sheets did not smell clean, nor did the blankets. Disappointed things were not cleaner.

Yelp
We had a lovely family getaway at the Log Hauler Haus. This was our 2nd cabin rental we've gotten with NW Comfy Cabins, and the 1st time bringing our extended family. Previously we stayed at the compass cabin which was for my husband and I's 1 year anniversary. This time was a first time family vacation. It was a hit, and my family is already asking when we can go again. This was our first getaway with our extended family, and now they want to make it a regular adventure with my grandmother requesting to come at LEAST twice a year. A big thank you to Jeanie, Denise, and Leasha for helping give us a place to make special family memories.

Yelp
Stayed at the Brighton Chalet from 5/20/16 - 5/22/16 with my wife and two kids. We arrived approximately 45 minutes before check-in and I called and asked if it would be ok if we entered early. I was advised that the property was ready and it would be ok to go on in. At this property the deadbolt has a key-less entry keypad. All you are supposed to do is enter a four digit code and the door will unlock. Well unfortunately the code we had was incorrect or the key-less entry was broken. I would consider myself tech savvy and handy and I tried everything I could think of to make sure I was entering the code properly but had no luck. I called NW Comfy Cabins and advised that I was having trouble getting into the cabin. The first think out of I was met with was "well your early" at which point I kindly advised I had got approval to enter a bit early due to being ahead of schedule. I was then walked through how to use the key-less entry but it still did not work even with a few different codes they had me try. Fortunately a traditional lock box was also installed on the side of the house and I was able to use a physical key. I was advised to use the physical key but to put it back when I was leaving the cabin so the handyman could use the key to fix the doors key-less entry. I was told someone would be out to check the lock the first day I arrived. The lock was not fixed when I arrived home at the end of the first night. I should note when we got inside the cabin it was very clean and had all of the basic kitchen items one would need to cook a simple meal. The beds were made nicely and the bathrooms were stocked with towels and TP. The garage is large and I was able to easily park our car within. A BBQ is on site near the garage and is ready to go. The fireplace inside the cabin was awesome and pumped out heat. The lighting in the cabin was also very nice and even had lighting on the stairs that illuminated the steps at night. I sat down at the end of the night once the family was in bed to relax and watch some TV..NO SUCH LUCK! The cable was not working. The cabin advertises Direct TV cable programming but all I could get was "no satellite reception". I was looking forward to just kicking back, enjoying a nightcap, relaxing and watching a show. Fortunately the cabin had about 10-12 dvds that so I was able to having something to watch. The microwave handle was broken off but the microwave was still usable. I took a photo of the broken handle and emailed it to NW Comfy Cabins for two reasons #1 making sure they were aware it was broken before I got there so i was not going to be blamed for it and #2 I thought perhaps they might want to know just in case they had no idea it was broken. I got the following reply "...The door handle has been ordered it just broke off before your arrival. But a new one is on its way I can't get it any faster than to have it shipped, they didn't have any I stock anywhere." That to me is totally understandable and I was totally ok with it but the way the email was worded made me feel like the reply was negative and like I was being bothersome. In the same email i also advise the TV cable was not working and in the reply they advised the cable was limited and only had a few channels and...the handyman would be by to fix the key-less entry (sometime during the day 5/21/16). I replied that the TV cable was not working at all and that I was letting know about the microwave just in case they were not aware. She replied apologizing about the microwave and note having time to advise me prior to our arrival but she never acknowledged the TV cable not working. I even called Direct TV myself to see if they could just get it working quickly but that did not work. The key-less entry was never fixed nor did I see a handyman show up. I put all that behind me and decided to jump into the hot tub. I was nice and HOT! The kids and wife loved it. The cover for the hot tub is HEAVY and would not be easy for a smaller person to put back on by themselves. I was able to do it but if you are not to strong I would ask someone to help you. The outdoor fireplace was really old, rusted and just about at the end of its life. We used it and were able to roast marshmallows! Make sure to buy some wood on the way to the cabin as this place does not have any firewood. Hopefully they will replace the outdoor fireplace soon as this one is old. Also the outdoor furniture was dirty and you might need to rinse off the chairs and table before you use them. Also bring bug spray! Lastly the dishwasher was super dirty inside! I uploaded a photo of how dirty it is. This is due to the property water supply having a high mineral deposit content. BUT the dishwasher could have been way cleaner it just requires scrubbing regularly. Overall the place was in a good location and had decent beds to sleep in. I will not be going back.

Yelp
***UPDATE*** So the owner of Comfy Cabins contacted me THREE YEARS later. In the message she did not apologize, complained that my review was hurting their business, and offered me a two night complimentary stay if I removed my review. I declined. She didn't apologize for the horrible service we received, and was clearly only concerned about profits. She was fine with us getting horrible service and couldn't have cared less, until I took to the internets and wrote a review. Beware of this place.

Yelp
We stayed in Peterson's Acres. We were disappointed with our accommodations. The house was a work in progress lacking trim and piles of trim laying on the floors (exposed wires in the master bath from the lack of trim and the wiring from the heated floors). The closet in the master bedroom was locked so we couldn't hang our clothes for our stay which was a week long. There were many things needing repair. The hot tub was cracked and my son got a large cut on his hand from it. We did not contact Comfy Cabins because it wasn't anything that could immediantly be fixed. To add to my review in response to Comfy Cabins comment: We also knew that Comfy Cabins could not move us as they are stating. We had originally booked Quail Run but were informed that the owners came back and that it was off the rental market and that we had to move to a different rental. We were given three options. Only one, Peterson's Acres, allowed for our group of 9 and had the 3 queen/king bedrooms we needed as we had 3 different families in our group.

Yelp
I had a good experience renting a cabin through Comfy Cabins. My family stayed at the Troll Hideout on Fish Lake with 3 couples and 1 dog. We could have easily had 3-4 more people stay with plenty of bedrooms and beds for everyone, however shower space would have been a bit limited. We brought a boat to go fishing, and were glad to see that the boat launch was available for public day use and our parking area was large enough for the car+trailer. We enjoyed using the hot tub which was clean, plenty hot enough and appeared to be well maintained and new. We also had fun making a fire in the fireplace, and the cabin had loads of split logs in the garage for burning. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes for our cooking needs and we made a few lunches and dinners, and went out to eat for the rest. I would definitely like to come back with more couples for another getaway. I could see returning during the winter snowy months, or in the summer months to barbeque. We visited in September, and it was rainy and drizzling but still very enjoyable. Also, the fishing on Fish Lake was mostly for trout, and we caught a few, but nothing huge. The lake is very small and the water was pretty green with algae, so not as inviting for swimming. It was very peaceful and relaxing, the neighbors along the lake were very quiet and we felt like the only people using the lake at the time.

Yelp
My partner and I came here with two other couples for two nights, and we were all disappointed. We're in our late 20s/ early 30s so we just wanted a relaxed time in the hot tub, go tubing on the river, and spend some time in town. The hot tub broke when we got in it. Since it was late I didn't want to call the number (there are so many signs posted in this house you stop reading them after a while). When I emailed the next morning about that (and the broken coffee maker) I was sent an excerpt from their maintenance contractor blaming us for not calling as soon as it broke, and blaming us for turning the heat up too high and shorting it... We didn't turn the heat up that high until it stopped working and we started messing with knobs trying to get it to work again. But I digress. The house was kinda like weird Aunt Mildred's house. It smelled like old person. There is only ONE shower. ONE SHOWER - I know it says that on their website, but just don't get confused about 2.25 baths. It's 3 toilets, one gross bath, and one shower with horrible water pressure and water that fluctuates between hot and cold. There were not enough seats in the den (where the TV is) for more than 5 people. So if you're watching a movie after a long day in the sun waiting for your turn in the horrible shower, be prepared to sit on the disgusting polar bear ottoman, or on the floor. The master bedroom has the power to turn off ALL the lights. Read which weird light switch buttons you are pressing before you push them. Oh wait, you cant. All the sharpie labels that display what they do has worn off. It wasn't HORRIBLE. I did want some money back for the sadness that the broken hot tub/coffee maker brought us, but to no avail. I got a blamey email in return. So budget spending money on Starbucks everyday. Hopefully they have fixed it for you though, if my review hasn't convinced you not to stay. The beds were too soft. I think ours had one giant spring... Don't try to sleep on your stomach- you'll be shaped like a boomerang by morning and your back will be killing you. All the beds are like that. The decor is very bear-and-duck-themed. Baskets hang on the wall. I think the weird polar bear ottoman that sheds on you if you touch it must be a bear-cam. There are rule signs posted everywhere, bathroom signs tell you not to flush ANYTHING down the toilet. The rental company (who I'm sure will filter this) is overtly religious too. Like I said, our stay was OK, but if you plan on sleeping well or going in a hot tub, or sitting on a comfortable couch watching TV, then don't stay here. I know I wont again.

Yelp
I had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Leavenworth Riverhaus through Comfy Cabins! A group of 12 of us in our 20s stayed there for the weekend and we had everything we could have needed - plenty of towels, dishes, showers, toilets, etc etc. It was really just great! When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the lock on the door which was keyless and just required a code so that everyone in our party could come and go without someone with a key always having to be accessible. The entire cabin had little notes all around it reminding you of things such as, turn off the sauna and don't light the candles. It was slightly weird but I appreciated the reminders. There were enough regular beds for 11 of us and they provided an extra folded up bed for the additional person, but we opted to have them sleep on an air mattress instead. There were 3 showers and 4 toilets which was great for such a big group. There was an awesome hot tub too which easily accommodated 6-8 people. The place was very clean and clearly very well kept. It was only a 1-2 minute drive from downtown Leavenworth as well which was really great. I did not have any need to contact comfy cabins during our stay as everything operated as planned and we didn't have any issues at all. I was extremely satisfied with our stay and would definitely book this cabin through comfy cabins again!

Yelp
From an owner's perspective... We had our dream vacation home built on the Wenatchee River in 2007. Unfortunately due to business considerations we had to move across the country. Consequently we were forced to look at rental options to keep it occupied. We interviewed several management and vacation rental entities but meeting the good folks at Comfy Cabins changed everything. You don't entrust a $800,000 investment to just anyone. The folks at Comfy Cabins treated our vacation home as if were theirs. In the three years we rented the home, they went above and beyond to keep things as new. That was very important to us, especially since we were so far away. Thank you both for everything! Every business owner should follow your lead.

Yelp
We had an absolutely amazing time at Merry Cabin. This is a bit outside of Leavenworth down a road that in the winter, you will want a 4wd vehicle or be prepared with chains. The weather the past few weeks has been pretty extreme. There was TONS of snow. The cabin was warm, clean, and inviting. Good stock of kitchen items, only missing a cookie sheet! The king sized memory foam bed was comfy and warm, although watch yourself on the steep steps to the loft! The hot tub was hot, the snow poured down half of our trip and there was a lot of accumulation. The driveway had been plowed and we had no issues getting in and out of the drive. We enjoyed gourmet meals and lots of game playing inside. A perfect getaway for a pair of couples. Comfy Cabins has a lot of other properties, I like that many are four legged friend- friendly. We will definitely come back and stay again. Thanks for a great trip!

Yelp
I've been here twice now. The first home we stayed during Oktoberfest last year and my friends and I love it so much that we stayed mainly in the cabin instead of going out to town. This year we brought our families and the kids love it. It's so cozy and spacious. They had two master bedroom with its own bathroom, three rooms upstairs but with a day bed, a pool table, a big front yard and a hot tub. Great weekend or holiday trip for the family.

Yelp
Stayed at the Beaver Hill Cabin near Plain I'll end with the Pros Cons: the pellet stove never worked even when we contacted the people and said it was working. That was just a bummer. Had to wash our own dishes. This bothered me because I feel like I pay money for a vacation too not do anything or chores but relax. Also the sanitary piece on using dishes that I have to trust someone cleaned it correctly before me or I have to rewash then which is annoying. These 2 reasons alone I wouldn't stay at this location again. I don't enjoy staying in places I have to do much so I should of researched this piece more carefully. Pros: bed was comfy if you like a memory foam type bed, hot tub was nice (check for bugs before entering), it was hard not having WiFi and cable but it forced us to find other things to do. There was a good selection of cookware. If you don't mind my Cons then I would recommend it. You ABSOLUTELY need 4WD if it snows they are not lying.

Yelp
We stayed before in the Ponderosa community and we loved it. Probably last time for us with nw comfy cabins though. This time we stayed at Rhodie House. There was an exact number of sheets for the beds, no extras (a first for us - and we've been in a lot of airbnbs) and also a fixed number of towels. Towels smelled funny, probably need to be changed... We asked for more sheets (which we didn't get the first night, since we arrived late) and the first answer was to ask why and to tell us that they don't usually do that. They did send a couple eventually for our second day.  What do people do with extra sheets? Eat them? Burn them? really strange that you would not provide some extra by default... My kids just like to sleep with two sheets usually instead of blankets (that are usually not washed anyway). Also, the vinyl record player was broken, I did tell them about it and they said they knew about it and that the owner will change it. The heating  in the bedrooms is also very loud, kept waking us when starting. Despite all this, location is good, house was ok in general, has a lot of games and well stocked kitchen, overall we enjoyed our stay. Just bring some extra sheets and towels...

Yelp
My family and I were ready to get away for the weekend. We usually just go and stay in a hotel somewhere if we are traveling. Then one of our friends recommended Comfy Cabins to us. Boy, are we glad they did. In a hotel, you get 1 room and a bed. If you are renting a cabin, you get all the comforts of HOME to stay in. Which would you rather stay in with 3 children? Our experience with Comfy Cabins was great. We were happy with our cabin. It was well decorated and fully furnished with lots of cute cabin looking things. It had 3 bedrooms and a full kitchen. We especially loved the hot tub. All we had to bring was ourselves and food. I would highly recommend staying with Comfy Cabins. Everything went smoothly and there were no surprises.

Yelp
Our family of 4 and our friends (family of 4) stayed with Comfy Cabins in January. It felt like home away from home! We had 4 kids under 6! Which we thought was going to be crazy, but it was so enjoyable. We had a great sledding hill on the property, hot tub to relax in after the kids went to bed and all the comforts of home, but we were away and covered in snow! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Stayed in Wilkin's Retreat. Cabin was nice enough, probably lovely in the winter, but we were there with multiple kids and the play structure outside was nothing short of terrifying. We spent many screaming minutes trying to de-splinter all the toddlers - no fun. After our stay, the owners claimed that we had broken a bunk bed ladder and put a hole in a door, which was simply not true. There was a broken ladder in a storage area upon our arrival. The remaining ladder we stashed on the top bunk so the kids wouldn't climb up and break their necks (all under 4 yrs old, too young for bunks). I hope the owners simply didn't notice the damage before and aren't purposefully defrauding us, but if they are going to charge for damages, they should do a better job of checking the grounds between clients, so as not to risk charging the wrong party. I recommend any future renters do a quick check on their own and document any existing damage, to avoid losing their deposits.

Yelp
Two stars only because the cabin we rented was nice. Unfortunately the management of comfy cabins ruined our stay, extremely passive aggressive and rude and did not welcome our post stay feedback. We rented a cabin that slept 10+ people however only had 6 staying in it. We had an additional 4 or 5 individuals who lived close to town come over for a BBQ, they were not staying at the cabin just coming over for the day. Later that evening management showed up at the door stating we did not disclose that we had additional guest past the number of 6 staying at the property (I guess they charge you more money per guest even though the house and site says it sleeps 10). First of all how did they know this? Well turns out they have an onsite "security camera" and they were watching to see how many people were there, slightly creepy. We explained the situation to them but all they said was we have it on camera, we know how many people were here and only 6 are allowed. First of all that's the dumbest thing ever, you rent a huge 4 bedroom house that sleeps 10 people and are paying 400+ dollars a night and for whatever reason you are NOT ALLOWED to have people come over to socialize and have fun with you. Seems to me as if they are setting us up to try and fine us or charge more money for what they say are "extra guests".

Yelp
We were impressed from the moment we drove up. The cabin, called "Tivoli" is the classic "mountain log cabin" you would expect in Plain, WA. It was very well appointed with homey furniture, well stocked kitchen, and super comfy beds. The ONLY complaint I would have is the bedrooms smelled a bit musty. It was a little overwhelming coming in. I would guess its tough to avoid depending on how long the cabin stays closed up between guests.Otherwise, it was the perfect environment for relaxation and fun. Loved the hot tub too!

Yelp
Horrible customer service. And completly unorganized. I would not rent form them! First of all they sent directions to the wrong cabin. We show up and enter a home we aren't renting. Then they send us to another cabin that we are supposed to be renting. They don't tell us that there is an alarm. So the security alarm goes off. Then they don't have the propane tank on. So we can't use the stove or the fireplace. Last but not least they charge us for 75.00 for leaving the fireplace on. Which we did not do. Lovely. I highly recomend not renting from them. Unless you want a vacation with lots of problems.

Yelp
Have rented a few times at different Cabins. Always a relaxing, enjoyable time. Customer service is the best. Always recommend to different friends. Have enjoyed all of our visits. Looking forward to the next visit.

Yelp
Too bad Narnia had such a bad experience, must have been a fluke because we had a wonderful 4 nights. The only glitch was our own fault to not have our chains on when we drove up the rather steep and very icy driveway. While it had been plowed, there was still ice and snow so we suggest visitors in the winter be sure to be equipped with chains (we did have AWD). We met the guy who plows the driveways and he's really a nice guy, he plowed the drive again for us, super service. Once parked, we were greeted by a quaint log cabin, nestled in snowy acreage with Christmas lights twinkling on the eaves making us feel welcome. The deck was on the ready with salt and shovel which we did not really need except to get our rear tire unstuck on the way up. No problems with the lock, the hot tub was fabulous and the interior was neat and decorated for Christmas even with a tree. We had everything we needed and so appreciated the many extras you'd never find in a hotel. We came with our two big mountain dogs and made sure that they were good guests, we made sure everything was tidied up before we left since we so appreciate those who are willing to accommodate dogs. They were so grateful for the fun snow that they were pleasantly pooped out indoors. Cowboy and Belle say thank you to Comfy Cabins. This cabin is a dream of warm wooden logs with a rustic decor and the propane fire made it very inviting. We relaxed as we never would at home in the snow hushed silence. We went into Leavenworth once for lunch but it was so busy that we couldn't wait to get back to our little cabin in the woods. We did some snow shoeing and took walks meeting a very nice neighbor down the road. All in all we couldn't have hoped for a nicer getaway as we had at Merry Cabin. Thanks to all and we hope to return again. Tom and Heidi Gig Harbor, WA

Yelp
We have used Comfy Cabins twice now and are extremely pleased. Our first stay went off without a hitch. The cabin was amazing and we had a great time. Our second stay, we had a minor issue, but the gang at Comfy Cabins owned the issue. Thus we plan to use them again and again. Thank you.

Yelp
We stayed at the Merry Cabin for our 1 year anniversary in September of this year. We were mostly pleased with our stay. The cabin was cozy and had a nice homey feel. There were a few things that if fixed would have made a world of difference in the comfort of our stay. **The bathroom is the room that needed the most TLC. The shower curtain desperately needs to just be replaced entirely. It was covered in soap scum and did not seem clean. There was also a rust colored and dirty looking non-slip mat in the bathtub and it made the bathtub look really dirty even though it most likely was not. Also, the toilet seat cover was ripped which looked a little gross. **The knife block in the kitchen was full of old knives all from different sets and were not sharp. The coffee pot did not work and overflowed which made a big mess that we had to clean up. Again, if the owners took $100.00 to KMart and bought a new $15.00 knife rack, some cloth liner shower curtains, a new toilet seat cover and coffee pot, and THROW AWAY that weird bathtub mat, I would have given our stay a solid 4. We were happy about the distance from town and the fact that we felt very private and comfy at the cabin. We may return again.

Yelp
We had a fabulous time at Riffle River Lodge! What a great place to take teenagers. I played ping pong, air hockey, and darts with my 14 year old son. The hot tub was perfect after snowshoeing! I have done vacations at many rentals and this was by far the best stocked kitchen yet. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
We stayed at Peterson Acres for a week and found very comfortable accommodations. The five bedrooms and three bathrooms were adequately supplied. The kitchen had everything needed for preparing meals and we especially enjoyed the deck and green grass. There was excellent wi-fi and Direct TV.

Yelp
We (my husband and I) stayed at A Pine Time and an excellant experience with the cabin and the staff. This is first time we had used Comfy Cabins which we found while searching on the Internet so we were abit nervous about booking but all our questions were answered quickly and professionally so we decided to book with them. The cabin itself turned out to be more than we were expecting. We have enjoyed trying out different cabins over the years and this was probably one the cleanest and coziest cabins we have stayed at. It was really cozy without feeling like you were intruding in someone else's home. There was little touches that we appreciated such as a great coffee maker, fresh fluffy towels as well as a fantastic comfortable bed at the end of the night. A few of the "cabin in the woods" experiences have included issues of mice, whether actual seeing them or hearing them all night which my husband has assured me is more than normal for any cabin in the woods. I was prepping myself for this at this cabin as I am not a big fan but I am happy to say I did hear or see any indication of mice. We did not see any pictures of the hottub before booking so we had assumed it was because it was not the greatest but this hottub was deluxe and we enjoyed our nights in so much we did not use the firepit as we had planned. While you can see the neigbhboring cabins they were far away enough that it still felt private and alot of acitivities were a close drive away. As much as we like trying new places we will likely return to stay at this one again as we would like to bring more of our family next time.

Yelp
Went for a moms weekend away with some girlfriends and we stayed at Drake Haus. The cabin was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Let me tell you... We barely left the house! The backyard was huge and very private. We could hear the relaxing sound of the icicle river just down the hill and even had some deer come visit one morning. The deck was our hangout the entire weekend. There were neighbors near by but they kept to themselves which is always nice in a vacation rental. Nothing worse than feeling like you're being spied on. As far as customer service goes, Denise and Kelly were great. We had a bit of an issue upon arrival but they were on top of it immediately when I called them. They made us feel very well taken care of. Needless to say we will definitely use Comfy Cabins again, we are already planning next years getaway!

Yelp
Owner's Perspective: My cabin is one of the Comfy Cabins. I could go on and on about how happy I have been with their management of my property, but I will keep it short and sweet. My cabin rents almost every single weekend of the year. I have had numerous repeat guests and great reviews on the website. Comfy Cabins must be doing something right to keep these bookings up. With around 40 cabins, they are always booked to full capacity on holidays and festivals. Please read the filtered reviews for more accurate ratings

Yelp
I have been renting the Alpine Acres property from NW Comfy Cabins for New Year's or Christmas for the last four years. From the start we fell in love with the property and the community of Plain WA, however during our last two years we have noticed a real lack of cleanliness of the housekeeping crew. Last year during our stay everyone was having stuffy heads like we had a bunch of dogs with us, we didn't have any of our pets with us, and my wife's asthma was starting to flare up. Upon investigating we found that it was worse when the furnace came on and blew air out the vents. I checked the furnace filters and found it clogged with dust. Luckily, I found a case of new filters and changed to a new filter and we were much better the remainder of our stay. I took pictures of the dirty filter and the clean filter and sent them to NW Comfy Cabins and they dismissed it as normal for an area that has a lot of dust during the summer...we were there 27-29 December 2016. So, this year (24-29 Dec 2017) I right away checked the furnace filter and found it to be just as bad as last year, again I changed the filter with the new filters on hand. We also found a refrigerator disgustingly dirty inside and out, and greasy cobwebs hanging off the beams in the kitchen (8' ceiling area). I again took pictures and sent them to NW Comfy Cabins and again they played it off as it was my fault for not telling them to check the furnace filter prior to our arrival, and said that the refrigerator in the garage was not for guest use (there are two refrigerators in the garage one has a sign on it "Owners use only" and is padlocked the other refrigerator is open for use. There was duct tape holding the transition strip down between the kitchen flooring and the living room floor. The driveway was not plowed prior to our visit. It snowed over 24" during our 6 day stay and it still was not plowed. My daughter (who was the renter for the second half of our stay) emailed NW Comfy Cabins several times about plowing only to have them reply after we left that they were going to plow two house after our departure. Luckily, we all had 4x4 vehicles. We will be using a different property management company next year for our cabin rental.

Yelp
Had a great experience with Comfy Cabins. I took my partner for a last minute getaway to Leavenworth because we kept hearing how impressive the Bavarian themed village was. When looking for a place to stay, we stumbled upon Comfy Cabins. We stayed about 20 minutes out of town at the Alpine Acres Lodge. The cabin had more than enough room for the 2 of us, and if we make it back out that way again, would love to bring some friends to join us. We really enjoyed Leavenworth, the look and feel of it were very fun and quaint, but being able to come back to our very own "home" away from home, was a nice change from our usual "hotel" type stays. We had our own hot tub, and private space that really added to our "cabin" visit, and we really appreciated the little things that the cabin offered, those things you don't normally get when staying at a hotel. We look forward to coming back.
