NWT Diamond and Jewellery Centre

Pretty neat to stop in for a quick visit!! - the educational video and small display was very interesting and informative!! One note- They majorly need to tone it down on the room perfume/ whatever scent was in there, I had a hard time breathing

There was a staff member who really assisted me and my brother while we were there. She gave us hot chocolate while playing a video about how diamonds are mined. Then she showed us real diamonds and how we can see their structures by a special device! She explained about each exhibit, too. There even used to be a person who'd give a demo on how to cut and polish diamonds!

We came by to visit (thinking it would be just a jewellery store) but it was SO much more! The ladies inside made the visit an unforgettable experience in YK. They made us hot chocolate, played us an informational 10 minute video, told us a lot of information about diamonds (miraculously without the undertone of trying to sell us anything), and even cleaned my engagement ring. The two ladies working there are the real gems and we can’t thank them enough for the wonderful experience.

I would consider the time spent at the NWT diamond and jewellery centre as a prized possession. It came in as a surprise for us as we didn't expect it to be so exhilarating. The staff if I heard the name correctly Patricia has a plethora of knowledge in the history and origin of diamonds produced in Canada especially a subject matter expert in NorthWest Territories diamond mines. I loved the way she explained each and every bit of information starting from the prehistoric era dating back to 50 million years to the spectacular end product jewellery in front of our eyes. The knowledge shared how a journey of the wood to become a diamond was awesome. Well supported by an amazing 10 minutes video and the cutting edge technology and infrastructure in diamond cutting and manufacturing.

A great little "gem" literally and figuratively; It was nice to learn the history of diamonds and also have a decent selection of quality diamonds to buy! Staff are wonderful, informative and do not pressure you to buy anything.

Great stop to understand NWT's diamond industry. It's quick a day doesn't take up a lot of your day.

Surprisingly, this family-owned spot was well worth our time when touring around Yellowknife! Patricia and Tess were welcoming and friendly, the displays were interesting, and we learned so much about diamond mining in NWT. I'm not much of a diamond girl, but I am really glad we stopped in here on our trip. If you are interested in some unique, beautiful jewelry pieces, I highly recommend this spot!

Great place to learn about the diamonds and mines. The offer is amazing and the personnel is so gentle and friendly. They explain you everything and help you choose the best option for you, your fiancee or your loved ones. A must visit place in Yellowknife
