It took almost two and a half hours from the park entrance on A3 to get to the Baines Baobab Trees. The drive is mostly on deep sand tracks, the trees were huge in diameter but not too tall. I don’t think they are bigger than the redwoods in California but still interesting to see. Whether it is worth that long drive or not really depends. I didn’t think so, but my traveling companion seemed to think otherwise.

We spent 3 nights in the park and enjoyed every moment. We were the only people at the south camp. Clean and looked after ablutions, private and spacious camp sites, lots of wildlife. We visited in February. The roads are easy manageable with well prepared 4*4. We were lucky to watch pride of lions every day, families of bat-eared foxes, zebras, elephants, impalas and many more animals. Can’t wait to come back.

Spectacular Experience at the Pan!!! This pan truly delivers a magical bush experience. The game viewing is satisfying while we didn’t spot lions this time. Hearing their powerful calls in the distance was spine-tingling. What made it unforgettable was the majestic elephant that calmly strolled past our camp to the watering hole during breakfast. Seeing such grandeur up close was a rare privilege. Campsite Amenities: The campsite itself impressed us with its thoughtful design: flushing toilets, hot/warm showers, and plenty of shade under generous trees absolute luxuries in a setting like this. We enjoyed two peaceful nights, surrounded by nature, but with the comforts that make all the difference. Travel Tip: Getting there is part of the adventure! The terrain is intense, so we strongly recommend taking the "sandy" route it's far less corrugated and much kinder to your vehicle’s suspension. One of our rigs did lose both front shocks due to the relentless bumps and lack of cooling breaks, so take your time and plan well. Final Thoughts: Despite the challenges on the road, the experience was absolutely worth it. Nature gave us a front-row seat to something special, and we’re already counting down to our next trip back!

The drive to South Camp is not for the inexperienced in dry months as the hot sand makes driving a challenge non the less once there at the camp its an oasis and wanting to stay longer! Friendly staff, clean campsites, spotlessly clean ablutions. The wild life is amazing so are the sunrises and sunsets. Elephant quietly stroll through campsites and an ever inquisitive friendly Jackal visits in the evenings

Once you're inside Nxai Pan the safari truly begins. You'll spend most of your time enjoying untamed nature at the camps and watching animals in the wild. You can choose to explore by self drive or get a game drive through the park. The term 'Big Five' was originally coined by big-game hunters to refer to the most dangerous animals to hunt in Africa in the late 1800s. Today, however, the Big 5 of Africa are the top animals that tourists want to see on wildlife safaris. And this is exactly what you will get without a struggle.

A 40km stretch of very thick sand tackled with a 4x4 brings one to a beautiful pan which in winter delivers awesome photo opportunities

You need to sleep on park if you want to see the animals. The road is full of sand, you need a power car. Anyway is very slow.
