Lake Lodge - Colombo

We had a lovely ‘layover’ stay at Nyne Lake Lodge. We landed in Colombo in the afternoon and had one night before heading off into SL. The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely with AC and great big ceiling fans, also a cute little garden patio. Was extremely comfortable. It’s nicely tucked away from the main roads so very peaceful at night, and still walking distance to the parks, sights and restaurants. The breakfast was very much the highlight of the stay!

Lovely place with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast options are great too (recommend a local choice). The bed is comfortable and the room furnished nicely. There are only minor bugs like the AC not being 100% responsive or a bit tricky to use. The bathroom is very dark but the shower is large and nice. Clearly recommend the place.

Had one night stay there. The hotel lets us check in late which is nice. Room is lovely and bathroom is decent size, comfortable. Breakfast was really impressive. I had French toast, and coffee. The fruits plate and bread was also included. Pleasant stay :)

Such a great place to stay in the heart of Colombo. We booked 2 nights knowing we wouldn't sleep on the second. We had a ridiculous time flight and wanted to have the room all day. The staff made us up a sandwich and fruit for dinner as a replacemt for the breakfast we would miss. Wow. The breakfast. I had the chicken curry with string hoppers. DELICIOUS. Mrs C had the fluffiest omelette she has ever had the pleasure of tasting. Nyne Hotels Lake Lodge is highly recommended.

Four of us stayed at this charming little hotel for just one night, but that was more than sufficient to tell me that it is a very well run establishment and that I would certainly stay there in the future!||The rooms are stylish and functional and sufficiently spacious ( not huge, but not tiny either). We liked the no frills almost minimalist decor too. ||The staff were friendly and professional; the manageress quick and efficient. ||A small downside; we checked out around 07:00 as our friends had to be at the airport early. We were served coffee, but it would have been nice to have had at least a biscuit to go with it! We were told that breakfast is from 07:30 onwards. ||We will return.

**THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU**|My husband and I are on our honeymoon and had booked a room here for our first day. They offered early check subject to availability. We booked them via booking.com so were able to message them ahead of time. We requested an early check in as our flight would land around 3.30am. THEY APPROVED! We arrived after a 12 hour travel day at the Lodges around 4am for the Night Manager to say there are no rooms available right now even though they assured us on booking.com it would be.|We were soo tired from travelling and on our first day of our honeymoon we are dealing with utter incompetence.||The manager tried to find us a place to stay but refused to acknowledge any mistake for the first 20 minutes. I dont know if he was new to this job but he was USELESS. My husband ended up finding us a last minute hotel which was nearly 3 times more than what we paid for the Lodge.|The managers attitude was pretty much "nothing we can do, bye" I asked for compensation for the mistake they made and he was very rude and basically said "No"||Absolutely horrible experience. We complained via booking.com and they have sinced apologised and offered a complimentary stay which is so stupid because it was a one night stay as we are travelling around. They have refused to do anything else. They really dont care about you. Dont make the mistake of relying on them. Didn't even make it past the Reception.

My wife and I stayed at Nyne Hotels Lake Lodge for 3 nights during our vacation in Sri Lanka. The service we received from everyone at the hotel was exceptional. The food was fantastic, and my wife loved the Sri Lankan Breakfast we had. Make sure to request the Sri Lankan breakfast the night before as they require advance notice; it's well worth it however. We did have some minor hiccup with the hotel WiFi but the staff stayed on top of it and resolved it. Hotel vicinity to key landmarks in Colombo is another plus as it only took us 10 - 15 min drive usually to get to most major locations on our itinerary. Rooms are well-maintained and there's beautiful artworks throughout the hotel.

This hotel is a beautiful, small oasis conveniently located in Colombo City. It is very close to many of the historic sites. The rooms are modern and clean, and the service from all the staff was excellent. The breakfasts were amazing!
