On the Grid : Bar Anonimo

"Keep your eyes peeled, or you might miss this one. Bar Anonimo is as its name suggests, quite anonymous. The unassuming front entrance expands into a modern dining area, cleverly designed to maximise space. It’s a local favourite for its delicious coffee and food. When you’re eating the avocado and tomato bruschetta with fresh ricotta, you think to yourself, “How is this so delicious?” It’s warm, genuine and friendly, without being too overfamiliar. You’ll always feel at home here. We recommend the granola for take away, the bruschetta for eating in and for lunch, check the specials board. We had a delicious smoked duck salad." - Thinkbone

We came for dinner for our twentieth wedding anniversary having got engaged here twenty three years ago. We were seated at a window table just before sunset. Beautiful view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge as the sun was setting. Our servers (Matisse and Jannes(?)) were fantastic, incredibly helpful and friendly but weren’t overbearing, clearly very well trained waiters. I believe it was a trial shift for Jannes but we would never had known if we were not informed as we were leaving (hire this man, he was great!) Had delicious cocktails then ordered the signature tasting menu. Everything was delicious, but the scallops were next level delicious. All in all a fabulous night, we couldn’t have asked for better to celebrate our milestone and look forward to returning.

Absolutely loved our experience at O Bar and Dining! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—they really made the night feel special. We went for the package and spent around $150 per person, and it was completely worth it. The food was crazy good—every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. You can really taste the quality and creativity in every bite. What made it even more unforgettable was the 360-degree rotating view. Watching the Vivid Sydney lights from the moving bar while dining was just magical. It gave us a stunning, ever-changing backdrop that took the whole experience to another level. Highly recommend for a special night out—can’t wait to come back!

Had a first date here on Friday and it was perfect!! The waiters were very welcoming and helpful and the views were stunning. The steak tartare and chicken entrees were our favourite followed by the strawberry and white chocolate dessert. The staff were also so sweet and brought out a small chocolate dessert with a candle for my date’s birthday. The only thing I wasn’t a big fan of was how salty my cauliflower and cheese soufflé with truffle main was, and I know my date found the artichoke too bitter on its own but tasted lovely in small amounts alongside the duck in his main. Overall, a beautiful experience!

Google
The oysters are non negotiable for me here, Sydney Rock are my go to every time. The view? Next level. The restaurant does a full rotation every hour, so you get a 360° experience without leaving your seat. It’s my favourite place to bring out of town guests, it never fails to impress. The food is consistently exceptional, and while the service is nice enough, it’s the atmosphere and flavour that truly shine.

Everyone here is so nice, I went here a little while ago but I plan to go more. They have such delicious and healthy yet hearty foods. For example the cheese plates and the cauliflower were my favourite. It was all too good and the vegetarian options were amazing btw. Also the scenery is so nice with the restaurant views.

Google
O bar is moody, luxurious, and intimate. Every course from the set menu was incredible in taste and presentation. Every waiter was clearly proud and passionate about what they were serving, as I would be. They were perfectly friendly, professional, and accomodating. A fantastic restaurant for a special occasion! I look forward to returning!

Google
O Bar continues to impress! It's my go-to spot for cocktails and dessert. The hosts are always warm and welcoming, and the service is top-tier, perfectly aligned with the premium price point. As a bonus, the team always nails their recommendations. Whether you visit during the day or night, the views are absolutely stunning. The washroom is consistently spotless and even has the perfect little corner for a cheeky bathroom selfie. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place that won’t disappoint on a special occasion.

Google
Great place, rotating restaurant, beautiful 360 views of the city. Very attentive staff and food quality was great. Paying premium for the location, chilli crab spaghetti was $120, sides were $20, Wagyu steak mb7+ was $118. Had a great time with the family. Did get lost initially trying to find the elevator to level 47.

Yelp
Incredible place for drinks and apps. Views for days!!!! Amazing cocktails and the best service! We ordered the tapas sampler- it comes with hummus, whipped feta, bread, and choice of three small dishes. We picked the rice crusted fried cauliflower- to die for... I could eat this all day... crunchy yet perfectly cooked in the middle. The kingfish ceviche was light and fresh. The smoked chickpea fritters were the surprise star- crunchy, creamy, and a hint of spicy! We washed all this down with a perfect Bloody Mary and aperol spritz. I wish I could give them six stars!!

Yelp
Views are spoiled by the mediocre food, and overall unhygenic atmosphere. Dirty cutlery, wine glasses with lipstick and spots. But the final horrific knife in the back of this restaurant experience was a visit to the ladies room. NO TOILET PAPER IN TWO STALLS, THE OTHER TWO PLUGGED UP AND OUT OF SERVICE!!!!! Sliced my finger open and was bleeding trying to get the loo paper out of dispenser as it was stuck on top of the only working toilet. Told the manager, the hostess and the bartender that all the toilets were not functioning. After a 3 hour meal and $600 dinner, still could not use the ladies room before we left, the management never even added loo paper or attempted to make the ladies room operable for its guests! A HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING , SHOCKING AND HORRIFYING end to our just average and overpriced meal. Stay home and order in instead, and save yourself the agony of an evening at The O! A pizza would have been a thousand times better than this horrible, slimy place!

Yelp
Place is beautiful and food is very good. However, the wait staff doesn't explain the menu very well. I went with my coworkers and they failed to mention that there is a minimum two course meal option and offered an appetizer special. Long story short, don't fall for this scam. The manager is a real POS as well as he wouldn't budge. Had I know about the minimum two course meal I would not have gone there. They are scamming tourists and it is a con. Avoid this place!!!!!!

Yelp
I always love the atmosphere and service standard's when I dine at Obar and Dining. On arrival we enjoy pre-dinner cocktails in a seating area before we are escorted to our table. Luckily I have always had my requests for a window seat table seating met. The menu is inventive and offers a many choices that are beautifully presented on the plate. Usually I am dining here for a special occasion to celebrate a 'birthday or anniversary'. Both times the staff brought out a special extra dessert treat to add to the celebrations. A nice touch indeed. Overall, I love Obar and Dining because I know I will thoroughly enjoy every aspect of my dining experience while getting a spectacular view of Sydney from Australia's first revolving restaurant!

Yelp
Would be one star, but the caviar service was good (of course, that was made by a lady fish just doing her thing, so it was hard to mess it up), so two stars. Also, the head waiter was attentive. Other than that... not good. The restaurant is trying to be a destination, fine dining experience, but it falls embarrassingly short. The waitstaff is clearly bored and going through the motions. The trout entree was good, but both main dishes were largely inedible. Dessert, such as it was, was not worth the calories, so we didn't bother eating more than a taste. My advice to the owners and operators of this establishment: do better. Much, much better.

Zena C.

Yelp
Why did I have to order two courses when I wanted just one? Why would any restaurant insist you order dessert at the same time as your entree and mains? Why...perhaps a fundamental misunderstanding of fine dining? It's a fairly basic concept - you pay for what you order - not told to order for what you must pay. With so many quality venues in Sydeny, why would you? Perhaps the view...you've been forewarned

Yelp
Until this day I still feel the same. O bar management has claimed I lied about making a request to making a video there and they acknowledged with "I will pass on your request" on Mar22. I've uploaded the screenshot of that conversation SO MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE PICTURE I uploaded for Obar. Again, my specific request was "nice table with a fantastic view so that I can make a video of our experience". If they paid attention to this request they would've set us up with a safe area to capture our memories. I guess I will not be organizing our wedding here since they deny everything about videography. Instead we will do our destination wedding in Thailand. We will forget Obar for their overly pricing the poor quality food. The view is not worth a dollar at this establishment. If it was possible to give 0 stars or negative stars I would've given that. On March 21 we made a request along with our booking to be setup with a certain request, they said they will be happy push the request forward but heard nothing back. Long story short we did not get setup w an area safe to capture our memories. Food is terrible and it will not fill you up. The view and staffs are good. The crackers are really dry and stale. The lobster meat and scallop was not plumpy and tasted dead not live nor fresh. It's like it was frozen. The salmon did not taste fresh either. The yellow fin tuna was bloody and tasted like it came out of a vacuum seal package that's been broken. The fish dishes were too salty and smelt very fishy and not fresh. The fish meat texture was mushy and dead. The cheap quality pork meat was still pink and the texture was tough. The chocolate mousse tasted cheap and not cold. After letting them know about all of our experiences with the food; The manager told us they "guarantee the food is fresh" but we just said "it doesn't matter what they think, we're just telling it is how it is and this is our experience." They simply just did not care. When booking you must comply and agree to leaving at a certain time. At this point We were very happy to comply and left as soon as we could. There was also a service charge on the bill in place of tipping. For those that don't know the culture here doesn't tip. The workers are paid at a higher min wage than USA therefore we tip in America. We DO NOT recommend this establishment. Our experience over all was not worth our time here. Update to the manager's response to my review: The information you received was not accurate. Yes, I communicated through Facebook and back in March is when I said I'd be going there to make videos/photos for our channel on Youtube. The reply was that the message will be past on. Apparently the communication is the problem and that is what I pointed out to the female manager that night ( I didn't get her name). Our booking was for 5 people. Therefore all 5 witnessed the quality of food that was served that night. There has similar experiences from other customers who agreed and other compliments to my reviews for O Bar/Dining on various other review sites.

Yelp
While visiting Sydney this place came recommended by many as it's a 360 rotating restaurant. The view was fantastic! There's construction going on so you can easily get lost trying to find the entrance. The building it's located in also has offices and there's a security desk downstairs. There was no signage so it made it difficult. Our gps wasn't working well once we were about a few feet away. This place would benefit from signage. We just wanted to check out the view and wanted some apps. Once we told them this we were seated on a high top in the lounge. The high top seating was uncomfortable so I asked for a change of seating as the lounge was empty. We were given a lounge window seating. Drinks of course pricey but was to be expected. I ordered three different ones which none I enjoyed. None of the appetizers caught our attention so we left to dine somewhere else. Perhaps the sit down dinner menu was better not sure. Service was horrible as well. Our waiter barely came by and was hanging out by the bar area while we were there. The two stars are for the cool restaurant and view!

Yelp
I don't think I've ever left a 5 star review for a bar, but here we go. We went to O Bar on a Wednesday night at 7PM. We went straight up to the 47th floor (as opposed to at other buildings in the area, where you may have to pay to enter). Once there, we were greeted and immediately seated at a window seat. The seating area itself actually revolves in a circle. It takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to make a full loop. It has great views of the city, especially at sunset. We checked out the menu right away - the drinks were pricey, but not absolutely insane; on par to what you would be getting at any other rooftop bar in Sydney based on the reviews I've read. Our server was EXTREMELY nice. She had a lot of insight into the drinks, as well. She was able to make recommendations based on what I was saying I liked and did not like. In fact, everyone who worked here was friendly and helpful. The bartenders greeted us on our way in, and servers from other tables stopped by to chat. A+. We ordered a round of drinks and two appetizers to share. The appetizers were the scallop skewers and the octopus skewers. The scallops were excellent - they were wrapped in bacon and served over a small, warm salad. The octopus was good too, although slightly too charred for my liking. This was served over the same vegetables as the scallops and was paired with mushrooms. The drinks were good, too. We ordered two Cumberbatch martinis, one pineapple punch, and one Bloody Mary. I tried the martini, which was very well crafted, and I liked it even though I'm not a gin person. My drink of choice was the pineapple punch, which ordinarily isn't very fruity, but the bartenders will make each drink to your liking if you ask. All in all, we had a great and unique experience here, and would certainly recommend it.

Yelp
Wavering between three and four stars, rounding up because the drinks are superb. The husband and I popped up Sunday night to round out our stay in Sydney with 360 degree views. Someone had recommended O Bar over Westfield Tower on account of O Bar being a lovely place for a drink. We were not prepared for how posh it is (especially in stark contrast having just come from Frankie's Pizza), but we were welcomed regardless. I had been worried that a reservation might be in order, but there were only a few tables occupied aside from ours. Sunday nights are evidently not that popular here. There is not a bad seat in the house. Comfortable chairs and sofas all affording a wonderful rotating view from their 47th floor vantage point. It takes about an hour to complete one rotation. Service was aloof and we were mostly left to ourselves. Menu would be overpriced elsewhere, but you are of course paying for the view here. What I found so off-putting was all of their tacked on surcharges. $15 minimum per person. 7.5% lounge table service charge. 10% Sunday surcharge. 1% credit card transaction fee. Jesus! It's like they're trying to dissuade patrons from dining here.... That being said, our drinks were exquisite and the toffee & dark chocolate mousse absolutely decadent. I had the Light of Rose (passionfruit & rosemary shrub, orange blossom, almond infused whisky, pressed lemon) which was refreshing and undoubtedly dangerous on a summer's day. He had the Tax Man Cometh (paprika spiced Islay whisky blend, toasted pecan, house sweet vermouth, walnut bitters) which was beautiful, dark, and complex. I'd come back for the daytime view, but not on a Sunday. And I'd book a table in advance.

Yelp
Ok, allow me to be the umpteenth person to say that the view here is seriously amazing! I came here without reservations of a Tuesday night to grab a drink with a friend. Since we'd both come from work we were appropriately dressed, but only just. Seriously, this place has its eyes on the runway. Yes, the cocktails are expensive, but also, mine was delicious. Sometime you just want a really great mixed drink, and that's what this mojito was--perfectly blended with a spicy pepper kick at the end (which, fortunately, the waitress had warned us about). It did take about 15 minutes to find someone who could get us our bill and then allow us to pay it, but the view is so great and the drinks were so good that we really didn't mind. I would definitely come back for a drink, but based on how pricey everything is (even the nuts are $15), I don't think I'm likely to try for dinner unless I win the lotto.

Yelp
This was one of the best dining experiences that I have had! But be forewarned that it does come at a price! I had dinner at the O Bar before attending an opera, during my visit to Sydney a few weeks ago. For starters, there really is not a bad seat since the restaurant revolves. Everyone is guaranteed beautiful views of the Sydney skyline! I started out with a Pear & Blackberry Shrubb, which was so good that I am thinking about trying to replicate the recipe at home. I then ordered the seared scallops as my first course. It was so delicious, I really didn't to be done with the meal! i then ordered the twice cooked tinder creek duckling as my main course. Again, another delicious meal! In addition to the excellent food and drinks, I was also impressed by the service. Our waitstaff was extremely attentive and checked on us frequently while not becoming obtrusive.
google avatar

Dana J.

Yelp
Solid 4 or 5 stars for the drinks and the view. Our cocktails were amazing although on the pricey side at $23 each. However, the food was terrible and over-priced. Skip the food here and opt for just drinks.

Yelp
Ended up here after the husband stumbled upon a rec and looked at the menu and liked it. The hilarious thing is that we didn't realize it is a 360 degree rotating restaurant! You would think that'd be the first thing they mention on their site. We got lucky and got a nice table by the window. It takes about an hour and a half to go all the way around and you get a beautiful view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The food was very good, and yes, it is more expensive than if you were eating at a ground floor restaurant, but rotating restaurants are expensive to build/maintain and you get an amazing view the entire time you're eating. I didn't find the prices to be exorbitant. Enjoyed our food, our cocktails, and the view.
google avatar

Al W.

Yelp
The view and decor is very nice. It gives you a sitting 360degree rotating view of sydney. I came here on a tuesday night and it was pretty empty and we easily got a table by the window. The drinks were pretty good and very reasonably priced. The same price you'd pay if you walked into any hip cocktail lounge. So essentially, you're paying nothing extra for the excellent view. I had a few cocktails here which were four stars. But i heard from my friends the food is very mediocre here, so we went to a different restaurant afterwards for food.

Yelp
As vegans we were beyond impressed!!! We've never had vegan fine dining and this was beyond delicious and amazing!!! Everything was soooo tasty and filling!

Yelp
What I had: Pacific oysters, tomato and mozzarella and lamb rump together with a half bottle of 1er grand cru st. Emilion Oysters were very good. I was expecting a caprese for the tomato and mozzarella. Instead they gave me something different, which I liked. Lamb rump was so tender. Killed it. Wine was fairly priced. Great! Food was pricey but worth it. Not an everyday thing. For 3 adults and 2 kids, I paid A$270.

Yelp
Heard the view was great with a revolving floor...a little tacky, I thought the revolving floor went away when Vuarnet died. Much like Vuarnet it must be making a comeback. It's still a little tacky but hey I can't pass up a great view! A quick elevator up, gorgeous hostesses and a quick seat later I had my drink in hand. I was there around 5:30pm and they have a special at that time. I ended up getting the buttermilk quail, roasted lamb and the potatoes. The food was decent but I couldn't stop enjoying the view of downtown Sydney and the harbour. Quail was decent, the lamb was good but the sauce that came with it wasn't the greatest and the potatoes were pretty bland. I was there on a Sunday and there was a sitting fee with a Sunday fee which is just...tacky. Come for the view and some drinks, skip the Sunday if you want to avoid the extra fee on top of the sitting fee...at least that's how it was explained to me.

Yelp
It's a rotating restaurant with a 360 degree view of Sydney. When you get to the right point you can see the Sydney harbor and the opera house. Overall though I would say it's overpriced for the quality of the food. Don't get me wrong it's not bad, but for how much I paid I think I should've been blown out of mind. Yes the food is fancy, tastes relatively good, but if I remember correctly it was about $700 USD for 4 people which put quite a hefty dent in my wallet. You're really just paying a premium for the food and location. If you want to enjoy the experience but don't want to pay the high price tag I would suggest going to the bar for drinks and apps. It's not right next to the window but you can still see the views and experience being there. P.S. don't wear shorts. I saw them turn away a family because the father was wearing shorts. Abide by the dress code.
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Amazing spot to take someone new to Sydney for a cocktail in the revolving bar with 360 degree views of the city and the Harbour. I recommend the day time view as oppose to the night. This building is opposite wynyard and take the elevator all the way to the top! There is the option to book into the restaurant but sometimes a fancy cocktail and something from the nibbles section is all you need. Now the cocktails are not cheap by any means but with that view who cares - this is a place to dress up and be seen!
google avatar

Char B.

Yelp
I came here with my boss and CEO while visiting Sydney with the intention of having sunset drinks. Somehow they convinced us to stay for dinner instead by telling us that the drink section was full and only availability was dinner seating. I can't complain because the food was delicious - great selection of what I would describe as fine Australian fare. The best feature was still the view and I would take guests here again as noted below it is better than paying to go up the Sydney tower and you get a spectacular dinner venue. As long as you are willing to pay the premium for the location:)
google avatar

Luana P.

Yelp
47th rotating floor. Should I say something else? 5 stars are basically because this place is quite special and (almost) unique. I went there few times for a drink (and dessert) and I've never been disappointed. However, I've heard few negative feedbacks for the food. No reservation required as well as no problems whatever you are wearing shorts or jeans.
google avatar

Salma R.

Yelp
A tour guide recommended O Bar as an alternative to the Westfield Tower and to have drinks. My partner and I came here for a drink right at 5 pm when O Bar opened and did not realize how upscale it was. We were definitely underdressed, or at least I was. The wait staff was still very friendly though. We got a couple of comfy seats by the window and enjoyed the slowly rotating, amazing view over Sydney as the sun set while enjoying a glass of wine each. The drinks are overpriced but you're basically coming here to pay for the view. Our waitresses were not attentive at all but it wasn't a huge deal since we were enjoying the view anyways. Would be a good spot for a date or a more upscale dinner/night out.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
Awesome views, good service. Definitely a good place to take any visitors to Sydney, if you are hosting them. The revolving room makes for amazing views, and on a clear day you can see for miles. Drinks are reasonable, if priced to the location, service is friendly and fast.
google avatar

Geoffrey B.

Yelp
Wanted a drink with a view and heard by friends that this place has a better view on the harbour than the Westfield tower. I decided to bring few friends for a drink. I did not expected a fancy place like that and we were certainly not in the good dress code, but unlike what I expected they said nothing about this and did not show scorn or arrogance. We had a seat next to the window, view is impressive, cocktail was good and probably 2-3$ more than most others place. You pay for the view and service I suppose. Talking about service it was great, waiters were taking care and really professional. I did not try the food but for the drink it is a great place, but I think it is the perfect to go with you girlfriend or on a date for the drink as the place is pretty quite, and the opposite chairs are pretty far from each other's. Would not go there with mates without a special occasion. If you like high view, great service and nice place you should give it a try. Oh it might be important you cannot share the bill.
google avatar

Ellen O.

Yelp
What can I say, this tops my dining experience in Sydney. Food was very well presented, absolutely delicious, amazing view, and service was superb. My husband and I enjoyed our dining experience here in O Bar, and would happily recommend.
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
A small group of us came here for the view and a few drinks on a Saturday night. We were seated straight away which was good. Once we ordered our drinks we were informed there was a $15 minimum spend per person which was not a problem however if we had been told before our order I probably would have ordered a cocktail to cover my limit in one drink. View was great, service at the table could have been a little quicker. You definitely pay for the view however it was a nice place to visit.
google avatar

Andreas F.

Yelp
Drinks with a view, thats probably the quickest description i can give you. But if i would try to go deeper, i would say its a unique place you definitely must try when visiting Sydney. This restaurant/lounge is located on 47 floor above your regular dining altitude, and if that wouldnt had been enough, its also slowly turning 360 degrees while digesting your food. We got here pretty late and were seated on third row after a couple of minutes. We requested to get a table next to the windows, which we were accommodated by the same time as the food came in. We shared a couple of small platters which definitely was tasty. Pricing is premium but although you wont be stuffed you cant blame them for it on this location. If you arent up for dinner, you should go here have a few drinks at least. This place will give you a nice view and new perspective over Sydney, and i bet you wont be disappointed even though you might leave a few bucks poorer.
google avatar

Elliott W.

Yelp
Honestly, I can't get over the feeling of nauseousness at this place- even though it only rotates at a glacial pace it's always been enough to make my stomach turn. I've never had food here but the cocktails are quite good- overpriced, but then again it is a touristy spot so it's what you would expect of Sydney. If you want a place to show off the harbour views + feel fancy this is an option, but not the best one in my opinion.
google avatar

Danielle L.

Yelp
Talk about a room with a view and if you don't like it, wait a few minutes because you'll have a new view... that's the concept behind Summit - a revolving restaurant on the 47th floor - and no it's not like a rollercoaster it moves so slowly, you'll barely notice... Here's the thing I'd like the altitude with a little less attitude as you get the feeling the staff rely on you being distracted by the food not to notice their lack of interest in serving you.... the same can be said of the food being simple but far from great. A two course dinner costs $85 - which you'd expect like a place like this... but the food is not so great, that it's really the atmosphere and view you're paying for more than anything else. Should you go? Hmmm... maybe.... yes for the view, no for the food and wait staff.... they also have a tapas bar which perhaps might be a better place if you want the experience but not the cost? Who knows, I guess that choice is "up in the air"
google avatar

Kayla L.

Yelp
We showed up at 5 pm right when they opened. There was no one in the restaurant. We were greeted and told them we just were stopping by to get a drink. We were told we weren't dressed appropriately. Their dress code is "smart casual". We were both dressed nicely because we were going out to dinner after drinks. However, we had tennis shoes on because we had walked around Sydney all day.

Yelp
We had dinner at O'Bar the last night of our stay in Sydney. It was a nice way to finish our visit with 360 degree views of the city. I would recommend you make reservations so you can see the sunset and then the evening city lights. The place was full when we arrived and I figured service would be slow, but they surprised me and service was courteous and efficient. Honestly we were there with friends and had such a great time laughing and sharing stories, I probably wouldn't have noticed if service was slow :-) We had steak, fish and pasta entrees and everyone enjoyed them very much. We enjoyed watching the city evening lights twinkle on and could not have had a better time.

George R.

Yelp
I eat out about 150 nights a year, and tonight's meal at the 47th floor O restaurant was easily the worst meal I've had in at least five years. "O" is apparently short for "O My God! Don't eat here!" Our waiter failed to offer us the evening's specials, never offered a second glass of wine or cocktail, and failed to ask if our meals were acceptable. They weren't. The Kingfish was dry and flavorless. The lamb was tough and so salty that hemodialysis may be in my future. On the upside, the view is fabulous and the windows were clean. Do not eat here. If you choose to have a drink here (probably a much better option), based on the food, I'd recommend cocktails that don't require skill--whiskey on ice or beer in glass.

Yelp
The food and service was great! My only complaint is that the restaurant is a revolving restaurant. The movement gave me motion sickness. For those not fussed by motion sickness, I think you will enjoy this place.

Yelp
Disappointment. Looking for a nice fancy-ish dinner and tempted by the PR of a refurb and a great experience. Without question, the view is great, this is the first time i'd been in a revolving restaurant, and it was fun, especially spinning around while the sun was setting. I didn't get dizzy, but maybe the staff were, based on their ongoing confusion throughout the evening. We had drinks for about 90 minutes, and this is where you realise they are charging for the view. A bottle of reasonable sparkling was $70. We were given glasses but about 10 minutes later our bottle still hadn't arrived. We also asked for water as it didn't come automatically. We ordered some chips as there were no nuts etc as you might expect in a bar like this, they were $10 for ok sweet potato crisps. The dinner was pretty much a disaster. The food was incredibly overpriced for the quality of what was delivered. I have no issue paying mid thirties for a main, but seriously, my chicken dish had no taste, not even subtle, all there was was texture, a sesame crust. The bread that we ordered to start with was on the menu accompanied by special butter, again, bread was served and minutes later, no sign of butter or a waiter. We asked for the butter and it came, given it was listed on the menu not sure why we followed up? I also had finished my drink and the glass sat there empty without being noticed for about 15 minutes, before a waiter finally asked if we'd like a drink. Surely this is not the standard of service a celebrity chef wants in his new restaurant? Let me put it this way - I ate Oporto afterward.

Yelp
Amazing 360 views of the city! The inside of the restaurant is just a beautiful, and there's not a bad seat in the house. We went for an early dinner and enjoyed every moment. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with smiles and welcoming staff. Our waitress was knowledge and helpful throughout the evening. The wine menu had great choices and the bottle we picked did not disappoint. We each started with an entree, king salmon & wagyu carpaccio. For the main I went with the sirloin steak special and my partner went with the flank steak and a side of potatoes. Every plate came out looking like a piece of art and tasting like heaven!! For dessert we opted for the box of truffles and sweet treats, delicious! The whole experience was lovely and I can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
Michael Moore's reinvention of Orbit Bar and The Summit Restaurant needs a LOT of work for this to take its place in this wonderful city of eating and drinking. I went to Orbit Bar a few months ago and loved it. Great service. Nice bar food on offer. It has since been re worked by Michael Moore and is quite disappointing. Our evening started in the O Bar. The decor has been uplifted with minimum changes made to paint and furnishings only. The bathroom is still stuck in the 90s for instance....Service was not up to scratch for the prices they are charging. We waited so long for our bottle of champagne that a waiter came up to us looked out our empty champagne flutes and asked us to buy another bottle before we had even received our first! After moving to the restaurant we quickly realised the menu is more like a cafe menu than a dinner menu. I had a few options I wanted to try including the Crab Cakes (this was because I had AMAZING 10/10 Crab Cakes at the new Gowings Bar and Grill last week). I also ordered the Baramundi. We received our bread. Which advertised delicious pepe sayer butter (what is pepe sayer butter?) which we waited for for 10 minutes before having to ask for it. My Crab Cakes were a disaster. The crab had been mashed together with the snapper together with a massive load of salt which over powered any other flavours. The Tahnini dressing underneath was amazingly fresh and yum but the cakes were overcooked and hard. My Baramundi was an amazing piece of fish you could tell it was fresh and no expense spared. However it was burnt. The skin was charred and it ruined the overall flavour of the dish. The Quinoa salad was tasty however I had better at Palomino for lunch that day with my Quiche of the day (see photos I posted on that businesses page). We ordered cocktails to cap off the meal and I am pleased to say my Old Fashion was delightful if only the same attention to detail was carried through to the service and the food many more stars could be awarded. It is disappointing to pay over a hundred dollars for meal and drinks and leave totally dissatisfied. It is the premier location and the revolving restaurant that will continue to attract people to this restaurant not Michael Moore's reincarnation.

Yelp
My friends and I seem to have a weekly Wednesday drinks outing happening, and this place happened to be the venue we chose one week! Upon entering, you can tell the atmosphere is definitely more subdued, and perhaps more "refined" than places like the Lobo Plantation (that I visited and reviewed the week before) - This is evident in how large and spacious the bar is, along with their plush and numerous sofas and table service! To be honest, I don't think it's the kind of place that suits my Wednesday drinks groups, because we tend to get loud and raucous! We were easily the loudest group there that night, and while we enjoyed the novelty of the rotating bar, it's probably not going to become a place that we visit regularly. However, I must say, the cocktail list is super extensive and very interesting, so much so that I broke my budget by ordering two drinks! Maybe that's why I can't remember what exactly it was that I ordered....

Yelp
I love coming here for drinks. Always a great place to bring friends who are new to Sydney. The dinner is quite expensive but the drinks are quite reasonably priced. Come on a week night for after work drinks to impress a client or workmates!

Yelp
My gf and I recently came to the O Bar Restarant to celebrate her birthday. She has lived in Sydney for twenty years and has never been to this revolving restarant. We were excited, bt regrettably a bit disappointed, most notably with the service and our server. The female server asked if we had ever been here before, to which we said no, bt she offered no exlanation of the menu, as we were a bitconfsed with the different corse options and if we were able to order a la carte. After taking our orders, she was not seen again....not to check if our order came out correctly, to see if our dinner to our satisfaction, not even to fill our glasses of water. The saving grace was the manager on duty, who i flagged down to ask for a water refill.....he then asked how our dinner was, even tho we were nearly done. I asked abot our server and if she had gone home, to which he said she was moved to another section. She did come back a few moments later....bt still was not very attentive to us, as we watched another female server take care of her table with great attention and conversation. When we were done with dinner and table cleared, the same server left a tray of 4 empty water glasses on the ledge in front of our table, which we had to avoid hitting while going tothe restroom. she walked by them atleast 2/3 times and left them there. a food runner finally took them away when he noticed them. lastly, no offer of desert, coffee, or after dinner drinks were offered...as we sat at an empty table for awhile til I asked for a desert menu ... we ordered desert and an extra desert was broght bc it was my gfs birthday as we let her kno when we initially sat down, which was nice. as a hospitality professional myself, I expected a higher level of service at this well known fairly fine dining establishment. I have to address uniform standards also.... i do not believe any staff member should have their stomach/lower back exposed in a restarant sch as this.... sleeveless is perhaps ok, bt baring stomach as if we were on a beach is very distracting and not professional. The food was fantastic. Compliments to the chef.....the manager on duty for being attentive, and the female hostess who was all smiles both entering and leaving the restarant. we really wish to have enjoyed this fine restarant a bit more and leave a better review..... not sure if and when we will return.....

Yelp
It's pricey but that's obvious for a bar at this location and with such great views of the Harbor. The staffd are friendly, food alright and what's there to complain about the drinks! Good place to go to if you are celebrating something

Yelp
Views, views, views. If you are new to Sydney, make this your first stop to acclimate yourself to the area. Bar area is great for a social, classy, yet relaxed dinner with shared plates and lounge seating. Nice dress recommended. For a more intimate experience, opt for the formal dining area. Excellent specialty cocktails are not inexpensive, but absolutely delightful and worth the splurge. Highly recommended!

Yelp
What a great find. Happened to be staying in the Tank Stream Hotel and asked about where to go for a cocktail with a city view. "Right next door" was the answer. Beautiful upscale bar and restaurant with stunning city views. Great place to watch the sunset. Only wish we had been able to go back for dinner.

Yelp
This is a really great place to take visitors to see the Sydney skyline, including the bridge and opera house (would recommend over the Sydney Eye - O Bar is not as high, but you can at least get a cocktail for this price you'd pay entrance to the viewing deck at the other). Cocktail prices aren't actually that bad - start at about $18. Wine starts at $11 and beer is about the same. The 360 degree views are stunning - wait for a window seat if you can! Dinner prices are pretty steep, so I probably wouldn't pay to eat. That said, it's a fantastic place to grab a few drinks before going somewhere else for dinner.

Yelp
Pros: food was decent and views were amazing! Cons: 1. Though food was decent, it arrived literally 3 minutes after I ordered it. Normally, a customer should be happy with fast service, but this was a bit too fast - as if the food was ready on the side and they just warmed it up?!?! Just weird. 2. A "Sunday Surcharge"?!?!?!? What is that?!? I didn't even complain because I was laughing so much inside. Have traveled to a LOT of countries, and have NEVER heard of a "Sunday Surcharge." You want to hit customers up for extra money...fine...but don't just make up silly stuff! Just say "gratuity included" and that's that. So simple. But you make your restaurant look silly when you just fabricate something like a "Sunday Surcharge." Wasn't a nice way to end the meal to be told that "hey, we want extra money, just because it's Sunday." I was actually going to leave a fairly good tip, but decided to skip it because of this silly, made-up fee. 3. One star for the food and one star for the view, but that is really it. I honestly can't say that I either felt like this was a "special" experience or that I was blown away by everything. Definitely didn't feel very welcomed, and didn't feel like staff would have cared if I just walked out and didn't eat there. The whole experience was just so-so. A good place to see once in your life, mainly for the view, but doubt I would ever go back again...unless for the view!

Yelp
Very odd - but quite pleasant if you know what to expect. It's a flashy Sydney restaurant, so a lot of the clientele are predictably OTT. The restaurant rotates, which is fun. Views are amazing. Food: I like the head chef Darren Templeton - he used to run Atelier in Newtown and then Glebe. But this menu is a strange combination of templeton's quite rich French style with that of the owner Michael Moore, who's a diabetic and committed to very healthy food. I don't think they've quite figured it out. Some of the dishes were too bland. I put a lot of salt and pepper on my pork main, but it still didn't taste great. There were a LOT of ancient grains in the dishes. Which is fine - they were tasty - but I wish I hadn't ordered the side dish of "ancient grains tabbouleh" when it turned out that all the other dishes had so many of these grains anyway! The "nibbles" dishes are actually quite big - we thought they were tiny pre-starter snacks, so unfortunately ordered too much food and couldn't finish our main. It's a shame the waiter didn't give us some guidance about all of this. But I can't entirely blame him because we didn't ask, either. The service started out good, but soon became haphazard. Drinks were brought too slowly while food was brought in very quick succession. We never had the opportunity to order dessert or coffees, despite asking to see the dessert menu. Despite all this, it's an interesting place and I'd come back for a fancy drink. But I'd stick to the bar; or at least be much more careful about ordering food.

Yelp
I always take visitors to Sydney here for late afternoon/sunset drinks, as the view is sublime (my most recent guest said "I don't know why we paid to go up Sydney Tower when we just could have come here!"). The cocktails are very good and there is a reasonable range of other drinks. As others have pointed out, prices are what you'd expect for this location. Bar snacks are nice but not remarkable, so I've never bothered to have dinner here. I liked the pre-renovation decor, but its now looking rather weirdly shagadelic. All the waitresses look like models and the service is usually rather abrupt. But that view!

Yelp
There is not many place where it's slick and stylish. Service is awesome.

Yelp
Yes it's expensive. Yes it's worth it. This is fine dining with the best views in the city. We came to celebrate our last night in this fabulous city and it was the best way to see her off. Whether we were enjoying the view, our food or each other's company, we never felt rushed along. The meals were top grade, my husbands steak fell apart when he picked up the knife it was so tender, and my bean curd dish was graciously umami satisfying, hard to find in a vegetarian meal. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I will return when I visit Sydney again.

Yelp
The best place to see the entire city of Sydney. The bar rotates as your enjoying your drink. Cheers
