Hostel in a great Location. The people working there are really friendly and helpful. Drinks and food are amazing and also a great place to meet new people. I stayed in a privat room and unfortunately there were not any opportunities to place my stuff. No chair, no hangers on the wall, no table or anything. Also the bed was too short so I could not lie straight. Window was towards the main hallway everyone passed by all night long.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. The ambience is really great, and they make such a big effort. The bar is awesome, their food is yummy and generally affordable. But the best part is the staff - Matheus at reception is so helpful and nice. Salo who takes people out at night is such a vibe. Rica brings everyone together and has such bright, positive energy, they are the star of the hostel for sure. Whenever I come back to SP I will be staying here for sure.

One of the nicest hostels I’ve been too, in a very good safe area in São Paulo, lots of diverse and open people there, bit of a party culture so lot’s of people to vibe with! Personal tours done through the city and going out by Rica are amazing too! Pedro one of the people working there was incredible considerate to me too! Would recommend to at least visit if you like hostels!

I spent 4 nights at this hostel & it was a really great experience. The staff are super friendly & the cleanliness is top notch. This hostel offers lots of walking tours which is great to meet people. You can also meet lots of people by hanging out at the bar in the evening when there is a party every night. The breakfasts are also really nice. I would highly recommend this place for anyone travelling to São Paulo looking for a party & to meet new people.

I was there in 2016 and it was fantastic, the mood, the room, the cleaning but mostly the people working there. I came after 10 years, after visiting other hostels and i could say this is one of the best that you can spend time. The room are very essential for a backpacker and accured. Very very clean. The space is well organized for meeting new people, for relaxing and have fun. The breakfast is so good, not only for the food but also for the brazilian playlist in background. This time I tried the shared room and private one. The private is so great, like an hotel but in the hostel lifestyle. I also want so say that the shared room are very good, there is enough space and you don't feel like in a confined space. The bathroom is always clean and it is never annoying. I leave a piece of my heart there and I wish to come back! Obrigada

I don't know why this hotel has such high ratings. On my first day, my breakfast was stolen. On my second day, a drunk man broke into the girls' dormitory and even climbed into my bed. I asked the staff to check the security footage, but they made all sorts of excuses. It wasn't until another girl reported it that they finally checked the footage. I asked for a refund, and their solution was for me to stay at the hotel again. Do you think I'd dare to stay there again?

I had such a positive experience with O de Casa Hostel! The place has a great vibe, but what really stood out to me was the kindness and professionalism of the staff — especially Matheus, who went above and beyond to help me out with a situation involving my stored luggage. Even though I wasn’t in São Paulo, he took the time to check personally that everything was safe, kept me updated, and made sure my belongings were taken care of. That level of attention and genuine care really makes a difference. Thank you again, Matheus and the team — you guys really saved me a lot of stress. I’d definitely stay here again next time I’m in SP!

For my first international solo trip and my first time staying at a hostel, I can confidently say I made the right choice choosing this place. I spent a lot of time reading reviews beforehand, and I’m writing this with the same honesty I looked for when booking. The staff truly made the experience. Catherine and Rica were my absolute favorites. All the staff are great, but I interacted with these two the most and they consistently made me feel welcome. Catherine especially deserves a raise — she is always talking to someone, making people feel heard and included, no matter how busy things are. She was the first person I met at the hostel and set the tone for my entire stay. Rica also deserves major recognition for her informative and fun tours, and for knowing exactly how to get the energy going later in the day. You can tell they’re both genuinely passionate about what they do, and it shows. I truly believe the people can make or break a hostel, and in terms of staff, you have nothing to worry about here. I met amazing people and felt like this hostel and I were a perfect match. I did take a point off for safety due to an unfortunate incident with another guest who stole my crossbody bag while checking out. This isn’t on the hostel, but it’s a reminder to always keep everything locked in your locker, even for a moment. I also dinged one point for cleanliness because the first time I used the bathroom, I walked into a clogged stall, though I never experienced anything like that again. The showers were great with really nice water pressure. While I don’t recommend it, I did walk to a self-service laundromat around 2am and personally didn’t feel unsafe, though I’m used to being out late in cities like New York — take that context for what it’s worth. I mention this only to say the hostel is in a generally good neighborhood near great spots in the city. It was a bit pricey for New Year’s, but I don’t regret what I spent at all — the experience, people, and memories made it worth it. If you love to party, this place is a perfect match. The staff truly make it feel like a family, and you’re pretty much guaranteed to leave with a good story.
