Truly an incredible food experience.
The atmosphere is serene and quiet, just some light music and the sounds of people softly talking in the restaurant. The tables have great seating, you can almost call it a sofa, however as we were a large group, we ended up at a big table with normal chairs but still cushy. Towels are ironed, napkins are smooth, you get the picture.
Bread is served lightly heated with wonderful compound butter, perfect to start your dinner.
The star of the show is the goatling (cabrito de leite), a perfectly cooked meat, spoon tender, the best I've ever had in Portugal, and that's a statement. It's sides are also great, with some "oven" rice, made with the juices from the goatling, as well as some veggies and potatoes.
Honorable mention goes to the roasted calf (vitela assada a baixa temperatura), tender and with amazing flavour. One of the best around the area (which is known for this dish).
The wine selection is great and the staff truly understands them as we were suggested wine that paired perfectly with what we ate.
Finally, price is just right. For this type of experience and food it is not cheap nor expensive. It's fair.
