Had a wonderful seafood filled dinner here. The location is incredible. Beautiful sunset views at the top of a magnificent cliff. The Alvarinho wine was great, especially with the seafood. The O Paulo salad was really good. The octopus salad was also delicious. The tiger shrimps and clams were amazing as well. We ordered potato’s as a side for the tiger shrimps and it was way too much food. We would recommend ordering just one side of potato’s for 2-3 people. One potato service can be seen in the photo, it was like 3-4 whole sweet potatoes per person!! All in all, a great restaurant!

On our wedding anniversary, we wanted to eat amazing seafood in a beautiful restaurant. We couldn’t have picked a better place than the O’ Paulo. Although the restaurant was at about 60% when we arrived, we were greeted friendly, the crew took time to select the table we wanted and directly took the drinks order. Shortly after, the friendliest waiter we’ve ever met, walked us through the menu options and let us take time to check and decide. Because of an allergy to garlic, the main course had to be changed and was then prepared in a variant. This happened without any stress and was also taken care of by the kitchen crew, who came out to double check ingredients. Of course it’s not ideal to have an allergy like this in a seafood restaurant, but everything was done perfectly! Altogether, the friendly and courteous service, the amazing quality of the food and the fair prices make this a great place! And the view! Oh the view is just awesome, especially when sitting outside. Wind is okay, although I imagine it could be stronger on other days. So this place is highly recommended! If you love seafood - go here! We’ll be back sometime for sure!

At the edge of the cliff next to the Fortaleza de Arrifana with 180• sea views, O Paulo offers in- & outdoor seating in rustic decor with an extensive seafood & meat menu, excellent wine card and an informal service, which makes a huge difference when everything is served with a genuine smile like by Subadhra. We were a couple early for a booked lunch and immediately told in shouting that (in good local tradition with disregard to first impressions?): “the parking was for employees only”, although when we left it was filled anyhow. For starters we had bread, olives, a tuna tartar, the best bochecha ever, a delicious borrego with orange sauce, a rich chocolate mousse, all with a great white Monte Vidigueira, waters and coffee for €50/pax.

A restaurant in a fairy-tale atmosphere with a fantastic view of the sunset. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly.

If you want fresh seafood, come here! I had the Rockbass which was a 500g portion, plenty of fish for one person. Please don’t let the price intimidate you from some of the best food and views this place has to offer. We do suggest making a reservation as it took some time to squeeze only two people in.

You can't beat the selection of fresh fish and the incredible view! So memorable we went back 6 years later and it was just as great

A great place with really bad food and a truly poor service. :-( We looked forward to this dinner and went by the restaurant to make a reservation in person for a 7 PM diner to enjoy a sundowner…… Unfortunately, it started with a grumpy waiter, taking our orders…… The starters came without any cutlery, and no one bothered to refresh our wine for the entire period of the dinner, so it stayed in its bottle till we served ourselves…. :-( but the truly bad experience came with the main course where the scampi for my wife came so dry that they were barely eatable, my son’s Dorada (37€ on the bill!!!) was 2-3 days old and tasted like it, and my tuna Portuguese style…..well, it came straight from the freezer and was then over cooked and I left most of it and sent it back to the kitchen! 😫 The only gesture that we thought was good (hence the second star …otherwise it would have been AT BEST one….) is the manager who came to our table and offered a different dish for me, but it was really not in the mood 😕 Then she accepted to take the Tuna off the bill…..at least that! 😳 Overall really bad and disappointing experience and we saw many tables complaining…I guess the manager has a really tough job there! 😱😕

Fresh sea good, Portuguese style. Amazing pure flavours. Wonderful service — swift, friendly, and warm with room for some humour and fun. Location is great. Acoustics too. Recommend big time 🙏🏼🌊🎣
