O Satélite

I came to O Satélite Restaurant in the morning to check their menu and ambience, to see if they had authentic Portuguese cuisine. I had a cappuccino with a few pastries, it was delicious. It all seem incredibly authentic — their showcases certified their quality. I committed to return for dinner, so I did. Just a few minutes ago I had a delicious house Vinho Verde and a Bacalhau à Gomes de Sá. I was actually severed by the bartender who took special care of me. The owner also visited my table and was very friendly and accommodating. The entire staff was friendly. Shortly after I was served dinner, a bunch of locals sat at the bar, everyone was friendly and fun. But the authentic Portuguese food was the highlight, made me wish to stay in Lisbon another night so I could return to Satélite. 😍😋

Gluten free food - meats and fish. Excellent service, waiter was quick to serve and funny. Outside seating with a view, and had indoor terrace seating. Food was great, steak actually came out rare and not medium rare. Sardines were delicious and a bit salty. The sea bass was grilled and delicious. Highly recommend.

We went to this place with high hopes because we liked it the day before when we were just in for a beer. It's very nice that the ingredients are stored in a fridge that is visible from the dining area. Fresh and good quality ingredients (meats, fish, desserts) are on display. One of the dishes in the picture is Picanha, which is advertised on the menu served with bean as a side, but the side dish is clearly not. By the way, as I looked at the dishes I took out of the kitchen, all of them were served with almost the same side dish. The steak was not bad, but the side dishes were noticeably not fresh. The fries, for example, were like heating them up in the microwave the next day. The other dish was pork, but it was very dry and not very tasty. Otherwise, the waiters were nice and polite, the place was sophisticated, the toilets nice and clean. Overall a good place and atmosphere, but the food was a disappointment, however prices are reasonable. The draught beer was refreshing and delicious. Another negative is that you can only pay cash.

Excellent place. Really good value for money and service was super friendly. We waited a bit to get a table outside and it was a great choice on a nice evening.

One of the big advantages of this place is that it’s open all afternoon, so if you have plans and can’t make it to lunch earlier, this is a great option. The waiters are bilingual, so we had no problem ordering. We ordered the Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato and the dorado. The portions were generous and the prices fair. Flavours: The clams were tasty — the sauce could have been a bit stronger, but the flavours were still there and enjoyable. As for the fish, it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was fresh, well-cooked, and a good portion size.

The food was disappointing. Everything arrived cold, and the service was frankly unacceptable. On top of that, they do not accept any cards, only cash, and they only inform you at the very end. This is extremely inconvenient and should be communicated upfront.

This place is delicious! NOT a tourist trap. Waiters are so much fun, you are served in Portuguese, the food is amazing, and full of locals. Don't get discouraged by the facade, it is incredible. Excellent service and amazing flavors! Recommend

We found this place in 2019 and fell in love with the food and atmosphere. We came back in 2025 and ate here every day for lunch and dinner (except for Monday when it's closed) and the food is just great. We have sampled every dish on the menu and loved every bite. Our favourite dishes are the chocos and octopus. The menu changes every day, they have fresh fish and meat. Portions are big and well balanced, you get salad and vegetables together with your protein. The staff is always friendly and everyone will speak your language. It might get crowded at times depending on the time of the day, but coming at 12:00 or 18:00 you will always find an empty table.
