O Veleiro Bed and Breakfast

Great place. Excellent value for money. Good quiet location and a nice safe part of the city. We enjoyed the walk down the hill into Botafogo especially after finding the short cut. If we didn't fancy the walk, we used Uber and had little difficulty in getting them to make the pick up.

Loved our stay at O Veleiro. We came for the carnival and were concerned that we were not staying in the prime spot, however we are so glad we stayed here instead of Copacabana etc. as it was so quiet and felt very safe in the local area. Rob and Richard were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They seem genuinely interested in everyone’s plans each day so they could give tips or alternative recommendations. Great place to start our few months travelling in South America and made us feel welcome and at ease - thank you ☺️

My extended family and I (10 of us in total, age range 2 to 71yrs) booked stay at O Veleiro for the last two nights of our Brazil holiday. It is a really pleasant, quiet location with a range of accommodation options to suit individuals, couples and families. There is a choice of places to relax or share time with travelling companions including the garden/pool area and inside the main house. Of particular note is that Rob our host was extremely helpful in assisting us with a range of challenges that had arisen as we arrived late, it was raining, and there was a power blackout in the area. Thanks Rob!!

Amazing place to stay in Rio! We liked everything - room was very comfy, breakfast was good enough (especially we loved local fruits, fresh juice and brazilian coffee). Rob is excellent host and also a good interlocutor, he helped us a lot with advices about Rio. Territory of this hotel is lovely - everything is green, clean and stylish. Neighbourhood is also seemed to be safe and there was really beautiful spot with view at Sugar Loaf. It's just 20 minutes to go on foot to the subway. And I also want to mention cute dog and cat - Luna and Amora - we really felt like home! We were a bit afraid of coming to Rio because of crime situation, but thanks to this place we really enjoyed that vacation! Thank you so much for hospitality! Hope to come back here some day.

Very nice place on a hillside overlooking Botafogo. Easy and inexpensive to come and go via Über. Close to Santos Dumont airport. |Short über ride to Sugarloaf, Corcovado and Copacabana and Ipanema beaches.|Hosts are very welcoming and interested in making their guests feel at home.|The cat and dog are friendly and nice to have around. |They offer private customized tours. |A quiet oasis from the craziness of Rio.

The first time I stepped in the gate, I knew I was in the right place.The neighborhood, the street, the garden all made me so relax. Then I met the owner Rob, he was so nice, warm, friendly and helpful, just like a brother next door. He introduced his family members to me. A black cat,a white dog and two turtles. I felt immediately I arrived home. My room was comfy, I had my own bath room and my own sitting room and mini bar. Everything Rob offered to me is more then I expected. Next morning I had a excellent breakfast in the dinning room. Richard served the breakfast. He was also very nice.just like Rob. From dinning room balcony, I can see the whole garden and the mountain view. It's beautiful environment surrounding me. Rob gave me a lot of tour tips. It's very useful. Thank you Rob. If there are six stars, I will give this B and B Hotel six stars.

This GORGEOUS home with its prime location in Rio was absolutely out of this world!!! Richard and Rob are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. I felt safe and healthy and Rob worked so hard to ensure we had all of our COVID testing requirements met! He is also an incredible guide! He took us to beaches that tourists don’t go to! Our Highlights of Rio tour was so special and was so well organized! Rob helped us with EVERYTHING! Our airport transfers, our tours and he helped with our transportation too! ||||Don’t even get me started on the breakfast! The food was sooo good and the fruit and juices were so fresh! We will absolutely be staying again and will join them for Carnival 2022! ||||This is an incredible place to stay and several days later, my boyfriend is still raving about it to people we meet traveling and to me!

The owner Rob is very helpful and can also arrange a safe airport pickup. As a tour guide he also can book trips and excursions for you. I booked an unforgettable sunset sailing tour.|If you want to discover Rio by your own Rob gives you really insider advices and ideas which you will not find in a guide book.|The B&B has a perfect location, delicious breakfast and a tropical garden where you can relax.|I recommend to use the Uber App in Rio.
