We stayed two nights and upon check in Brandy and the other check in person were incredibly kind and funny. We joked about having too many cherries, not knowing that was the snack in the room. They immediately made us cookies! Room #4 was quaint and overlooking oak street. It was quiet and the room was clean and suited our needs. We will definitely stay here again. When my husband wasn't feeling well in the morning Brandy went out of her way to get him a tea from next door. So nice! The whole stay was like that with Brandy and Faral going out of their way to treat us like family. We will definitely be coming back.

I rent a long term airbnb housing from them. They provide the highest and friendly customer services. They always resolve any issues almost instantaneously or feedback with their plans. All staffs are very friendly and inclusive. Recently, I called the office to report a problem and Brandy gave me her personal cell number to receive a photo of the problem area from me so that the technician could come out prepared. She scheduled a maintenance to come out to fix the issue right away.

We visit Hood River frequently, and just happened to book this sweet place on a whim for a night. Firstly, they were so kind and accommodating with our two dogs. Upon check in I was so pleasantly surprised with how kind and sweet the gal was. She came around the desk, pet my little dogs, and just made us feel so welcome. She then walked us to our room, which was small, but that was no problem. It was very hot in Hood River, but the room was perfectly cool, with a very good a/c unit. They left a fuzzy blanket, dog bed, and handmade dog treats for my pups. The room was really cozy and very clean. Crisp sheets, we slept great. Breakfast was a hand cooked buffet style/farm style, with fresh fruit, eggs, scones, bagels, yogurt, and marinated cucumbers, along with great coffee. We sat out front, at a cute little table, among beautiful plants and big trees. We will be a frequent guest throughout all seasons. Superb location, walk to everything. Oh, and I nearly forgot, they also left chocolate chip cookies for us!

We loved staying at oak street hotel. Booking was easy. The room was clean and had everything we needed, with some nice touches like water and chocolate. The owners were so nice in being accommodating as we accidentally booked a room that was not dog friendly but they helped us out and it was not a big problem at all. They also were accommodating in letting us get breakfast after booking and asking about allergies, preferences, etc. The location is also incredible. Centrally located and easy walking to the restaurants and breweries. Definitely would stay again!

I was traveling on my own and stayed two nights at Oak Street Hotel. Without exception the staff are very friendly and welcoming. My room was comfortable with all the amenities needed plus some extras like a pitcher of water and chocolates! I was impressed that there was a range of times given for when I wanted breakfast----and how excellent it was. They were accommodating as well. Since I wanted a place to write and there are no desks in the rooms, it was no problem for me to write in the dining area or at night they found a fold up table I could use while sitting in the comfy lobby. The grounds are beautiful as well. I know I will have to come back again during a warmer time of year to take advantage of sitting out on the porch. Lastly, I love the (free) parking that is available and the walking access to the downtown area of Hood River. Highly recommend.

Google
The Oak Street Hotel is a lovely little B&B, small rooms with just enough charm to make them seem homey but still a little minimalist. The staff is excellent, checking in they toured us around to see if we'd rather have an upstairs room instead of the lower level room we chose. We opted for room 3 which was bright and airy with a nice view. Being Winter the leaves which likely provide a bit of sound buffer are all gone and the level of noise from cars was noticeable, not a deal breaker but if you are a light sleeper maybe some earplugs. The bed was comfy and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was delicious, made and served by a friendly lady who brought out our breakfast. First was fruit, a scone and yogurt after which we had a small skillet scramble. I had two BIG cups of coffee which was just what was needed. I would rather give them 4 1/2 stars but there is no middle here. So I opted for 4 because, I think folks might expect a fancier finish in the rooms. We will definitely stay there again and likely the same room if available. The location is amazing right in the middle of everything, easy walking to all the shops, breweries, tasting rooms etc. If you only want a room to sleep in this would be perfect. I will say the lounge in the lobby area is nice, they have tea and water for guest and it is cozy.

Oak Street Hotel in Hood River is an absolute gem! The breakfast was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. Plus, the location is perfect for exploring all that Hood River has to offer.

Wonderfully comfortable stay! Oak Street Hotel is lovely. Ideal location in Hood River. Yummy breakfast to start a perfect fall day. You’ll want to stay longer!

Yelp
We stayed at the Oak Street Hotel on 6/23 during a whirlwind PNW wine and beer adventure. We stayed in Room #2 because of the river side view and breeze. The lack of space in the room was balanced by the large windows looking out over the Columbia River and the fabulous Gorge! Ellie and the entire Oak Street team made certain our stay was excellent from communication prior to arrival through sharing recipes upon departure! We will return on our next visit to Hood River!

Yelp
We chose OSH because of the quaint looking amenities, the story about the founders and reasonable prices. Our 1-day stay in March '24 was a way for us to tour the Hood River area. We were greeted kindly and given a key. The inside of the hotel did not match the classic style of the vintage home. Every door in the upstairs hallway was a commercial fire door, so it resembled an office environment, not a vintage home. We asked for an extra blanket, as we like a cool room for sleeping in. At 11pm, the A/C unit turned off until 6am the next morning (on a timer), so we didn't sleep well at all. The food the next morning was okay: poached eggs, and another course. I couldn't see how farm fresh (from website description) came into the picture, but the cook was nice and gave good description of what she was serving. We didn't like how the website overplays the actual hotel experience.

Yelp
The innkeeper was amazing! She made the entire experience. Her breakfasts were incredible and can do for you attitude was amazing. Connie made the weekend.

Yelp
Truly enjoyed our experience here. Made last minute reservations with Cheryl on the phone and she was super patient and informative. Very beautiful refurbished old home with a large front porch... a nice comfy place to sit, enjoy some coffee and read a book. Stayed in room #1 upstairs. Small, but cozy room with street view and view of a small courtyard. Room was clean and equipped with all the amenities needed. Can hear some noise through the walls, but nothing too loud and that you wouldn't expect inside a home. Breakfast was delicious. Had homemade waffles with cinnamon apples one morning and a yummy egg scramble served in a cup shaped baked tortilla the next. Flexible breakfast times so you can sleep in if you want. Gina and Matthew were very attentive hosts, and made us feel most welcome. The location is perfect, as it's easily walkable distance from all of downtown Hood River. Will definitely be back for another relaxing getaway.

Yelp
Best place to stay in town. Comfy beds, fantastic breakfast. Really cool hand wrought iron tables (though they are hard to be quiet around when your partner is sleeping.) Super friendly employees, off street parking, fridge in room, wifi... What more could you want?

Amy C.

Yelp
I will start by saying that I did not stay the night at the Oak Street Hotel. However, the kindness and genuine sense of community showed to me there, was so noteworthy that I wanted to share it with everyone. I came in on a very busy day with a group of children, looking to find a community map. I figured that hotel check in areas often provide free maps for their guests. What I found instead, was an employee who took half an hour of her own time to search good hiking areas, print up maps, and give all sorts of great directions for the youth I was taking with me. She was clearly proud of the community that she serves, and wanted to ensure that we had a fantastic time. If this is the kind of service provided for someone walking in off the street and spending no money whatsoever in this business, I can only imagine it must be the best place to stay in all of Hood River!

Tracy L.

Yelp
We stayed here on a Saturday night in mid-May. The rooms were lovely --- comfortable, beautiful, and with everything we could possibly need. It was very quiet, and we slept peacefully. Our breakfast --- fritata, salad, scones, tarts, and other pastries, and fabulous coffee --- was magnificent! The price was reasonable and everyone was very friendly. There is a lovely sitting room in the hotel itself and a porch and garden outside so you can relax in peace and enjoy the ambiance of Hood River. We loved this place!

Yelp
Oak Street Hotel is a great place to stay...that is if you like cute and adorable things! Staff was super friendly and accommodating and made a great breakfast. My wife is gluten free and every morning they would make a special dish just for her. The location of the hotel is a short walk to everything in Hood River. Erin, one of the staff members, told us about a great hike to a beautiful waterfall which I totally recommend asking her about. Speaking of staff being great. Our flight came in super late and we did not arrive until 2:30AM. The hotel had emailed me regarding our late arrival and they placed the key in a lockbox with directions on how to retrieve and get into our room. We really appreciated the personal attention we received. We stayed in Room 8 which was perfect for my wife and I. Not to big/Not to small. For those who like doors on your bathrooms there isn't one in this room, so no shy people should stay in this room. There is however a wall and doorway separating the bedroom and bathroom for those who like some privacy. But really though, everyone poops! There is a mini fridge which is great for beer or I mean soda or anything you want to keep cool. Great B&B! You won't be disappointed.

Claire G.

Yelp
I stayed here on a recent trek through Oregon, and I thought it was a lovely hotel, although as some reviews have already posted, it is actually more of a B&B than a hotel. When we arrived, the receptionist gave my husband a special pastry because it was his birthday. It was such a sweet gesture! Our room, #4, wasn't spacious, but it had everything we needed (even a TV, which is not a guarantee in a B&B).If you are going to Hood River, you should be out and about, not cooped up in a hotel! I am giving it 5 stars because of the small touches: the shower gel and shampoo are lavender-scented and smell incredible; the breakfast was well-balanced and very tasty; the staff was super-friendly. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Hood River!

Yelp
My friends and I rented a house on Westcliff Drive from Oak Street Hotel & Vacation Rentals. It was a great house with a terrific view. While the house was short on a few items (we couldn't find the iron; the kitchen had one towel; and the wine glasses didn't match), the sleeping accommodations and view were terrific. It was just right for our large group that was in town for a weekend of wine tasting.

Cami A.

Yelp
We absolutely loved staying here!!! The rooms are comfortable and quiet. You are served a 5 Star breakfast every morning that is homemade from farm to table. We will defiantly be back!!

Yelp
We just stayed at the Oak Street Hotel for a quick night in Hood River. We stayed in their "equivalent" of a two bedroom suite. Certainly more than enough room for just two people, but I was a little worried about certain reviews that stated there was no door to the bathrooms. Just a curtain. We booked the two bedroom suite for the extra room to avoid any awkwardness incase there was only a curtain. Well fellow yelpers, rest assured there was a nice hard door to close for the bathroom for any business that my wife and/or I may have needed to take care of. No awkwardness on this trip. That boundary line is still firmly drawn. I didn't check the rest of the hotel, so I can't attest to the status of all the bathroom doors in all the rooms. Onto the rest of the hotel. It was a very lovely room. A Bed & Breakfast type. We had a full kitchen, sort of, with all the essentials for those late night cocktails or snacks. We had a little fridge and plenty of room to unpack for the night. The beds and all the furnishings were a bit outdated, but for the most part pretty comfortable. For the one night stay, it was more than enough. The only real big disappointment, was breakfast. I knew it was continental going into it, but there was practically no selection and nothing at all to impress. But it was free, so I guess that's nice.

Yelp
Had a great stay at the Oak Street Hotel. Took one star away as our room was not ready at the noted check-in time of 3:00pm and the receptionist asked if we could "go do something and come back" so we walked around town for about an hour and our room was ready upon our return. Room 4 was clean, quaint and cozy. The bed was comfortable and linens soft and freshly scented. A/C in room was great for hot summer weather days on our stay. Hotel was quiet and we slept well. Room 4 does have an actual door for the bathroom opposed to the ones mentioned in other reviews for other rooms that only have a curtain. When you check-in they ask which breakfast time you'd like, 7:30/8:30/9:30. We chose 9:30. Another review mentioned there not being a food left at the 9:30 time. When we went in, yes, it was sparse but the very attentive staff replenished everything for us and made our main entree (savory scrambled eggs and hash) fresh and hot once we arrived. This is more than a continental breakfast....in addition to a daily entree they have fruit, pastries, mini pies, yogurt with fruit compote/granola topping and really GOOD COFFEE. Based on other reviews we expected just a few sweets for breakfast and planned that we would likely go out to a restaurant for a "real" breakfast so we were pleasantly surprised by the awesome breakfast they have here and set out for a beautiful day full and satisfied. The hotel has wonderful charm and we would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
We spent July 4th in Hood River & were delighted by this hotel, & its location within walking distance to shops, dining & local brews. The service & staff are lovely & their breakfasts are SO worth the stay! Thanks for the great experience

Yelp
We stayed at the Oak Street Hotel for a weekend 4th of July wedding. After reading the other reviews, which span many years and are all over the map, I was a little apprehensive upon arrival. Our experience was awesome. We stayed in #5. The room is small - no doubt - it's historic. The bed, bedding, and pillows were super comfy. Breakfast was AMAZING! (Quiche, coffee, hard boiled eggs, home made mini pies, fresh baked blueberry bread, yogurt parfaits, truly remarkable.) We had first breakfast by ourselves on the sun drenched patio, and then brought some family over for a second breakfast later in the day. It was quiet and tranquil, unlike the many other hopping restaurants along the street. A welcome respite on 4th of July weekend. The bed and breakfast aspect was well managed. I felt like I was well cared for, but like I could come and go at the hours that we wanted, and not like I was traipsing through someone's house. We had our own key to the front door. Our room was silent. And we got to watch the fireworks from our bedroom window. Perfect view. Thank you Oak Street Hotel!

Yelp
I was recently down in Hood River for work and ended up staying the night at the Oak Street Hotel. It was a super cute, clean, and quaint little place. They even honored the government rate. The rooms were small but very clean and nice. It was a very peaceful stay. They even have a little guest book in each room to sign and you can read about previous people's experience. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast with fresh breads, juice, and decent coffee. The place was nice and clean and the staff friendly. As an added bonus, it is located right downtown within walking distance of many bars and breweries including Full Sail.

Josh S.

Yelp
Had a wonderful stay. Nice clean rooms and exceptional service. Tho hostess at the front desk was delightful(gorgeous girl). She got us just what we needed in a very professional manner. Overall a great stay, although the shower had a slow annoying drip all night. Will defiantly go back! Josh S,

Yelp
Great reviews for this hotel. The staff were both super welcoming. The room was very nice with fresh scones upon arrival. Located down town so we were able to walk everywhere. The breakfast was remarkable. I highly recommend this place for couples. We will go back.

Yelp
I recently stayed at the Oak Street Hotel in Hood River,OR. The hotel is very easy to locate when driving to town and has a nice parking lot right behind it. Once I parked my car i didn't have to drive again, Oak Street Hotel is conveniently located and easy walking distance to shops, coffee places and restaurants. The Hotel itself is just a beautiful craftman syle , turn of the century mansion with a luxurious landscaping. It made me feel special to stay in this beautiful house. Inside I was warmly welcome by the genuily friendly staff and was shown my room in a timely manner. They offered me a lavender pillow (from local fields) to place under my pillow case to enjoy the aromatherapy and have a relaxing night. The room was super cute, cozy, comfy and had everything I needed for my stay. I had a very restful night. Breakfast was served at 7:30am, variety of fresh yogurts topped with local jams, fresh fruits of the season, steel cut oatmeal and fresh organic eggs again from a local farm. Coffee from a local roaster, tea and OJ. The lovely lady offered to cook eggs for me and I had 2 fried eggs that were cooked perfectly. I highly recommand to stay at this hotel, I will return again. Lovely place filled with lovely people. A must go for a true Hood River experience. PS: I stayed in room 4 and it had a door to the bathroom ;-)

Christina C.

Yelp
The Oak Street Hotel has more of a bed and breakfast feel than a hotel. The room was nice and clean, but a bit too kitschy for my taste. Two of the three days we were there we weren't able to enjoy their breakfast because we went fishing, but they graciously packed fruit and scones for us the night before, which we kept in the in-room refrigerator. The one day we were able to enjoy breakfast, we showed up 30 minutes before breakfast service ended and they didn't have enough food. It is an easy place to walk to some really great restaurants and see downtown Hood River.

Yelp
My husband and I decided on an impromptu stay in Hood River last night so made la very last minute reservation. Appreciated their willingness to accommodate our little dog in what is their handicap accessible room. We were not expecting such a tiny, dark room. But latecomers can't be choosers, and it was comfortable if one doesn't mind the toilet separated only by a curtain. However, it was MOST annoying and irritating to have to listen to the constant and loud noise of the heat pump that was located just outside the wall. My husband is hard of hearing so it wasn't such a big deal for him. But it would be a deal breaker for me if I was aware of it.

Claudia K.

Yelp
Rolling into Hood River rather lateish, looking for a room in a small new town was a little tricky and especially when you don't want to stay in a chain hotel. But alas, in the distance was beacon of bright lights which no one would want to pass up. What on earth could that be? Well, it was the Oak Street Hotel; very well known for it's light displays. This one was out of the park. Christmas had passed for a few weeks now, and Christmas hadn't gone away yet at Oak Street. It was such a treat to have experienced and have caught it at this late date. Hours and hours and weeks went into this "show". Not only on the outside, but inside as well. Anyway, this hotel is the place where Christmas is fully appreciated and respected. I knew it would take a few days stay to take it all in. One is welcomed with open arms here. All the people that tend to you are helpful, nice, and attentive. You couldn't ask for a sweeter "crew". Darn, I would have rather have had breakfast out. I am not sure exactly what my dissatisfaction was; I just compare it to the Pine Street Bakery and then I'm out. Maybe it was the frozen orange juice (picky me) served. The cookies available round the clock sure are good though. Hot chocolate, coffee, tea and other goodies await you at your arrival. Continuing, The accommodations weren't exactly my cup of tea. The décor was too fru-fru and frilly for me..but that's me only. The place sure was clean though! Would I stay here again? Not sure. Will check out some other places. We shall see. Oh, by the way, I hear that the Valentine decorations are equally VERY festively done and MUCH to see. This house alone has a holiday show almost year round and is an attraction of the town. Glad I was treated to Christmas (and the snow) all over again. I did notice, that Oregon doesn't take down their holiday decorations right after Christmas...how cool is that! I love this town during Christmas-time of year,

Yelp
What a laughable stay for a laughable trip. My girlfriend did an amazing job of pulling off a birthday trip for me that was not her idea of fun. A night out of town seemed pointless to her, for me, it was needed as we headed into the darkness of winter. She booked a room in a bed and breakfast that was right in downtown Hood River, walkable to great restaurants and breweries. On the way to Hood River we planned on going for a hike but the weather was the first to give us the middle finger, pouring down rain...not even a small chance of staying dry. As we edged closer to town on the Washington side we salvaged a quick hike in the Gorge and earned a couple reasons to eat a high calorie dinner and drink a couple of beers without feeling guilty. As we pulled up to the Oak Street Hotel I got super excited thinking the quaintness meant a spacious room, claw footed tub and a bed that reminded you of staying at your grandma's house. The manager was very good at communicating via text with my girlfriend and we easily found the key and our way to our reserved room. Things took a turn for the ridiculous as we entered our room, downstairs with barely a window. There are many variations of relationships but most of them should never involve your bathroom experiences only shrouded by a "plush floor to ceiling curtain." (Sharing bathroom smells and sounds was not what we wanted). When we contacted the manager about the possibility of switching rooms for one with the bathroom not inside the actual bedroom, the tone over text messages became very matter of fact. Basically stating that "our website describes our rooms very well." I assure you the the only thing that I found on there website after the fact was this sweet tidbit, "Little surprises and charming details are found throughout the Oak Street Hotel." I don't give poor reviews, almost never and almost as a rule but I don't think their website does the reality justice, just by claiming "quaint, quirky and 1909" doesn't make it okay to leave out the facts. Things probably could have been easily forgotten but breakfast left a really terrible taste in my mouth, not for the taste of the food but for the lack of it and lack of attentiveness of the staff. There seemed to be only one other couple staying at the hotel at the time and amazingly we were eating at the same time. The nice lobby/kitchen/dining area was attended by a young woman at the front desk and a woman running the kitchen, I think because we only saw her once. The young woman at the front desk didn't seem to have kitchen duty as part of her job description. My girlfriend grabbed a mini quiche and the other couple grabbed three, nabbing the last and fourth when they came back for seconds just as I was walking up to have breakfast. After an appropriate amount of time waiting and even looking into the kitchen, we left without anymore food. I have no idea what we paid for that night but I certainly would have asked to talk to someone as it was not an enjoyable experience. If you are going to pass everything off as 1909 charm you have got to step up your game in every other category. Sorry Oak Street Hotel just not a good experience and there are way too many places fighting for business on a mid-week night in October to try again.

Hailee S.

Yelp
What a wonderful, comfortable, homey place! Most important, the staff was exceptional. This is my first review I've ever written, but after staying here, knew I had to share because the people at Oak Street were AMAZING! They were so kind. We slept in and knew we missed breakfast, but when we went down to check out, they offered us the food they kept warm for us, knowing we'd be up eventually. They fed us homemade strata that blew my mind, (I had four pieces!), coffee was hot and OJ was cold. They offered use of our room until we were finished but we chose to eat outside on the big, covered porch. The bed was comfortable, our night was quiet and they just made the place feel like our own right from the get go. Will definitely take another short vacation from the city just to stay there!

Yelp
The three best things about this hotel/inn are: 1. Gaby, 2.Adrian and 3. the locally sourced, freshly cooked-on-the-premises breakfast. The granola made by the owner's mother was superb. The excellent morning coffee is locally made. The area grown merion berry homemade jams, cobblers, etc. were yummy. Good baked goods and also cooked-to-order eggs made with eggs fresh from the farm. I stayed for almost 2 weeks and was kept well-fed. The front porch with tables and chairs was a great place to relax; lovely landscaping and beautiful fresh flowers from the owner's farm. My room was fine for one person, but would have been cramped for two. There was no door to the bathroom, but it did have a tub which I requested. In two weeks I received only one "free-with-the-room" lotion. I liked the iron-wrought bed frame, sink stand, etc. The shower gel, conditioner and shampoo dispenser was attached to the wall at standing level for showering people, so I had to get up and down from the tub to get little squirts of gel without the benefit of any grab bars....okay, it was good exercise...until I figured out I could put a quantity of the gel and shampoo in the small "speciman size" paper cups which were the only cups provided in the bathroom. This hotel was very comfortable, good location for intown walking and mostly quiet.

Yelp
Meticulously cute and clean but underneath are some problems. We stayed in a room that was like one tiny room with a high level basement attachment with another bed but there was literally no air in the room. The pillows were pretty but hard as old kapok. Then they charged us more than the estimate but we had guests with us so we did not want to make a fuss. The worst was the noise next door a full on major blasting disco party. We talked to the front desk but they said oh well nothing we can do. We then called the local police 2 times but for some reason it actually got louder! Between booming music and no air we started to feel kind of sickish. It was miserable. What was extra annoying was the laissez faire attitude of the hotel. They didnt seem to care about their paying guests.

Jim G.

Yelp
I called the day of to see if I could book a room. I was able to get the room I wanted for only $99! If you go to their website you can read about each of the 9 different rooms. I picked room 2 which said it stayed cool in the summer and had its own outside enterance. It was a small room but served its purpose. Nice and clean, queen sized bed, spacious bathroom. The bathroom is only seperated from the bedroom by a curtain, fyi. I loved this hotel because it was right on Oak Street so I could walk down to all the great restaurants and shops! I would stay here again definetly!

Eric G.

Yelp
My fiancé and I stayed here over the valentine/President's day weekend. From booking to checkout the staff (especially Anita) were extremely friendly and helpful. The farm to table buffet style was delicious and provided just enough to keep us full until lunch. We had visited Hood River many times before, but this was our first time staying there overnight. The location in town is perfect for walking around. The rooms are nicely decorated and extremely clean, but it is important to keep in mind that this a vintage style home B&B. This is exactly what we were looking for on our trip! If you want a sofa and suite style room it might be best for you to stick to one of the chain hotels. Thanks again to the Oak Street staff for wonderful weekend. We will definitely be back for another stay soon.

Yelp
We were excited about staying here but what a terrible experience. The whole place smells like mold. Do not stay here!

Yelp
Remember when your friends were 20 and they would accept weird apartments just for the sake of having a place to live on their own? That's what the room was like at the Oak Street Hotel. It was a basement room. The first room right inside the door had a queen bed squeezed into it and a small old orange vinyl recliner and a small side table. Out to the right and up two small steps into a window space was another queen bed. Along one wall was a kitchen counter with sink, and the other wall had a small counter and small fridge. The shower head sprayed water crazily all over the small stall. Considering that I think we were the only ones there, I asked if we could have another room. I was allowed to see the two other best rooms - one was brighter but had just a bed and crammed into the corners the sink/toilet/shower and had no chair. The other room had the same bathroom set up and a chair, but was dark. So, all in all, no place particularly comfortable or inviting to stay. There must be better alternatives...

Alyx S.

Yelp
Super awesome location, friendly staff, easy check in/out process, rooms were cozy and cute and quiet, and most importantly this is the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. So delicious, fresh, homemade, and a great variety of options. Would recommend this place!!

Emily S.

Yelp
We stayed in the Queen/King split room with another couple while we were in from Florida, and we were thoroughly impressed. This was the perfect option for us as we spent the majority of our time hiking and visiting vineyards in the area and not much time in our actual room. The breakfasts were wonderful every morning and the location is perfect for walking to many of the local restaurants, bars and the riverfront. We also took advantage of the garden and front porch areas during our downtime at the hotel. The staff is also very friendly. They offered to box our breakfasts for us so that we could take them on the road when we left. Overall, this is a really nice, quaint hotel.

Yelp
We loved our family stay over the Labor Day Weekend. We took all the rooms for our Texas family for our daughter's wedding at Hood River. They made us feel right at home. Hot cookies every afternoon and always had plenty of smiles and warmth as you walked in the door or needed any help. Located in the heart of Hood River, walking distance to anything you want to see. I give their staff 10 stars.......

Yelp
Great hotel. Easy to find, right in the middle of everything. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. A little pricey, but worth it. When we arrived, they already had our rafting invoice and directions printed out and in our room. Breakfast was very good - fresh scones and coffee are excellent. Environmentally conscious.

Yelp
Just now taking a moment to comment on our visit mid-October... delayed but heart felt. My husband and I came for a quick overnight visit (our first time in Hood River) and were so happy to have found Oak Street Hotel. My apologies for not having names but the staff had the gift of hospitality... from kindly caring for an error on my part with the reservation to the generous offer of other options at an already bountiful breakfast. Our room was clean, comfy and cozy -- nice details that made an older space very accessible. We loved the location (we walked everywhere: shops, wine tasting rooms, dinner, music). Our only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer... but we will make up for that with a return trip! Thanks!!

Yelp
We were there in early December '15. Yes. Clean and tidy. Yes. Christmas décor in and out enchanting. But there was something just awfully chilly and scripted about hospitality personnel and rigidity about guest accommodations that was verging on off-putting. The tepid smile and almost condescending demeanor weren't enough to write a critical review, in and of themselves. But they're prickly, just the same. The most concrete example came when a military guy on the tail end of his leave and his wife were staying when we were. He ate the sparing breakfast with us, then asked if he could take his wife's breakfast to their room while she packed (and probably mopped tears). Nope. Rules. Whaat? Thinking about it, I've never stayed in a B&B here or in Europe that lacked that great mix of sincere warmth and prudent flexibility like this place did. Their furnace worked fine but there just wasn't any warmth.
