Sydney was the absolute best server. Was a bit busy Sunday around 11am, but there was a booth free and the host put a chair on the end to accommodate our group of 5. Unlimited drip coffee refills, cheap dishes, quick service. I’m vegan and Sydney helped direct me to my options and what could be modified. Ended up going with the avocado toast without egg and a breakfast scramble dish with sautéed veggies and hashbrowns (removing the cheese and eggs) to split between me and the other vegan in the group. They also had oat milk for coffee/tea drinks, so I got a delicious iced chai. Even though it was busy, service was super quick! They also have a delicious hot sauce made in town and you can buy bottles of it (we got two). Other folks in my group got the veggie omelet (vegetarian, huge portion for $10), eggs Benedict, side of pancakes, and corned beef hash (which they said was one of the best they’ve had). I’d definitely come back here! As a vegan, I rarely find diners I can eat at, but this was great. Sydney said there are even more veg options on the non-brunch menu.

Delicious, affordable breakfast with such friendly staff. Stopped by on a Sunday midday and were able to sit at the bar right away. Our food came out quickly and the service was great.

OK, I am going to start this review with the caveat that I am originally from Queens and Long Island, New York where we have the best diners in the world. So I’m grading this on what I call the “upstate New York curve”. I know that sounds snobby, but you would understand if you’ve ever been to a diner in Queens. This diner would be a one star down there (probably out of business), but I’ll tell you my honest experience this morning: PRO: it is super cool looking, inside and out. Right out of a 1950s movie. And it was busy inside, but I was able to get the seat at the counter right away. When the check came it was pretty reasonably priced. And the bathroom was pretty clean, given it was a Sunday and it was busy. Unfortunately, that’s about it for the pro column. CONS: when I came into the place, I was not greeted by anyone, even though there was a person standing right behind the register. And even though the place was busy, there was an apathetic 20-something girl just standing behind the counter, not doing anything. “Can I sit at the counter?” “Sure, go for it”. No menu brought to me, no water nothing. Sat at the counter for about 10 minutes (an eternity in diner time) before anyone even acknowledged me. Finally, a sort of friendly dude took my order, got the most basic thing you can get, three scrambled eggs, bacon, rye toast, hashbrowns. Food came out within 10 minutes, which is not bad, but it was lukewarm, and the bacon was actually room temperature. Not sure how that happens but it did. This made it so that when I spread the butter on the toast (One huge slice, not cut in half just thrown on the top of the eggs), it didn’t even melt. Eggs – MEH. Bacon – crunchy but cold. Hashbrowns – burnt, left a taste in my mouth. Coffee - ug. Even cream and a Splenda, which I don’t even use usually, couldn’t help it. Anyways, I wanted to like this place and I’m not sure what else you’re going to find around here. So if you’re in a pinch, I guess stop here? But I won’t come back again.

Google
Chic fusion diner with Vietnamese items and a yummy spicy chicken sandwich. Crispy tater tots a bonus. Teas are a thing here.

Google
This is our favorite breakfast place in and around the Hudson Valley bar none. The sun shines in the windows of this typical diner looking place. Silver 50's style - But the menu is far from typical. So many wonderful choices and everything we have ever ordered was delicious. The service is spot on and the prices are fine too. They have a lunch and dinner menu that looks great too but we always end up there for breakfast!

Google
One of my favorite stops along my tri-state motorcycle ride, the Oakhurst Diner never disappoints. An eclectic menu including generous use of jalapenos, avacado, kale, cilantro, pinto & back beans, brown rice, edamame and much, much more. A thououghly modern take on a Diner, Oakhurst takes classics like eggs benedict, meatloaf, chili and wings and makes them thier own while offering new and unique dishes that excite your taste buds. From their Sandwich and a Side menu, one of my personal favorites, the flavorful, protein rich Patty Melt. A 1/4 lb of juicy beef, swiss cheese, grilled onions, mustard and Oakhurst's twist on Russian dressing between two slices of rye bread grilled to brown perfection. Bursting with flavor and melted goodness, you won't be disappointed with Oakhurst's twist on an American Classic! Oh yes, sides choices include; sweet potato or regular fries, mashed potatoes, tater tots, kimchi or my choice, a mixed greens salad. Great food and service, a truly diverse menu with something for everyone, coupled with al fresco dining and reasonable prices, what's not to love? Give them a try but remember, they're open Thursday through Monday only!! Update from Jul-3-2023 I tried the three pork tacos with black beans and white rice today. Tacos were of the soft shelf variety, served with the usual fixings, a delicious sweet yet spicy sauce that really made for a terrific lunch. They were quite filling and super tasty, I give them high marks for taste! Update May 25, 2024 Always something new and interesting at Oakhurst Diner! First time eating inside, booths are tight but cozy, counter seats are spacious and staff is always super friendly. Today, the lovely Jessica recommended I try the special dish pictured here with the avocado, a delicious jalapeno sauce with just the right amount of bite and sweetness. It has a Mexican name like conquitos? It was fantastic I can't remember all the ingredients but I believe it was served over refried beans? It was absolutely delicious and another taste bud sensation from Oakhurst diner! Got to check this place out very eclectic! Show the photo to Jessica and tell her CT Biker Joe sent you!

Google
This diner is as classic as diners can get (from the decor to the menu) and I absolutely love it. The staff is super friendly and they make the dining experience very relaxed and pleasant. I particularly liked the classic thick coffee mugs and I should note that the coffee was spectacular (it's from a German coffee company called Wolfgang). I ordered the Big Daddy platter and would highly recommend it. My friend ordered the pancakes that include options of blueberry or chocolate chip. Everything was great about this diner and I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm in the area.

Google
Set in a beautiful location, and a cool chrome diner feel, we had an excellent breakfast, and our server was just dynamite. Food was delicious, too. Totally worth the stop.

Yelp
Had breakfast many times at Oakhust while my son was a student at a school close by. The menu is mostly "diner food" with some Asian specialties thrown in there. We usually ordered breakfast items. The omelets were large and filling. Would love to see some hot cereal )like oatmeal or grits) offered as a side. Service was always friendly and fast.

Yelp
A good old nostalgic local diner with tasty food, a warm ambiance and friendly service. It really felt like I stepped back into time, loved the vibe. The way it was, is and always should be!

Yelp
The Oakhurst Diner is the consummate "don't judge a book by its cover." It looks like an old-school diner, both outside and in. Don't get me wrong, I love an old-school diner. What Oakhurst offers is your favorite things to get at a typical diner, only the ingredients are super fresh and locally-sourced. The folks who work there are nice and helpful; even when it's busy (which is always), the food comes out quickly, is consistently delicious. And we're never rushed through a meal. I had a grilled chicken sandwich (avec bacon), and my friend had eggs, bacon and french toast. When the food arrived, there was far less conversation at our table! Definitely plan to go back any time I'm up in Millerton.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Solid breakfast spot at a great price. Pancakes and over easy eggs were well cooked. Bacon was very crispy and sausage patties were solid. Will come back when I'm in the area.
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped for lunch. We felt warmly welcomed by the staff! Great recommendations! I had a chocolate shake, and it was DEVINE! Then my friend got the macro plate (which was beautiful!) and I got the spicy chicken tacos! Very good! Will go back to try more off the menu!

Yelp
Oakhurst has an ambitious menu for a place in the middle of a tiny town. We stumbled in at 4PM when they were no longer supposed to be offering breakfast. Our server told us not to worry if we still wanted breakfast. Nice touch. Our order was all over the place. My wife got two eggs over easy with fries in place of home fries which they were out of. Not a big deal but the fries seemed to have a ton of pepper on them. My daughter got Huevos Rancherors which though tasty, didn't look like they were supposed to. My meatloaf entree tasted a bit more like sirloin steak pre-made but the mashed potatoes and broccoli were tasty. My son got a Caesar salad and tater tots as a side. The side of tots could have fed an army and were a bit over fried to the point of just being sharp potato fragments. Really friendly service here and fast service. Food isn't where it needs to be but this place has promise.
google avatar

Max M.

Yelp
They need to get new chefs or train the ones they have, stop doing the bare minimum. That goes for service too. Bringing something that should be hot at room temperature is no good. Nor is giving someone a dirty glass. They need more attention to detail in every area. It has the potential to be really good, but the entire staff would have to try more and raise the bar on food and service. It's really not that hard.
google avatar

Lisa A.

Yelp
A nice, old-fashioned style diner in the center of Millerton. This place has a full bar and a soft serve ice cream machine. Something for everyone. We enjoyed our lunch. I had a Turkey club with tater tots, which I shared because it was a very generous portion. My husband had a burger with a side salad. The burger was tasty but looked small. The side salad was a very generous size. We would definitely go back.

Yelp
We wound up here after a day of hiking in Massachusetts. How does a little diner in the middle of nowhere have Vietnamese on the menu ? Well they do and that pork sandwich was absolutely amazing as was the Asian salad. Cucumbers avocado w a spicy Asian dressing, great taste to it! Wife had a burger and she said it was good as well. Staff friendly and nice clean environment...Well worth the stop glad we saw the bright red light because we were hungry !
google avatar

Jake G.

Yelp
Great food in an excellent environment. The service is very fast and the staff are friendly. I highly recommend. One of the best spots in the area. Also, the pho is fresh and delicious!
google avatar

Leanna K.

Yelp
Yummy spot for food. An unexpectedly diverse menu, and friendly service. Outdoor seating ambiance under a nice tent, so pet friendly. Reasonably priced, and quite delicious. We have been back several times.
google avatar

Brian G.

Yelp
Super cute spot, great environment, friendly service, and a solid reliable menu with affordable prices for the area...I wish it was open every day of the week. Just the fact that Pho is even on the menu is pretty wild and lovely for a place like Millerton...certainly not the best Pho I've had but it's the only Pho in the general area so I deeply appreciate it. And man - that Cobb salad is a dreamy and hearty Cobb, definitely my go to order. Millerton is lucky to have such a swell diner.

Yelp
Gotta' tell you the truth here: never been to a diner anything like the Oakhurst. And we mean that in the best possible way. Their menu offers up some classic diner fare: burgers, salads, soups, steak, etc. But how about Pho? Or a Thai Bahn Mi pork sandwich? Or Korean Kim chi? Won-ton soup? And to go with it, maybe some beer or a margarita or a Manhattan because, yes, they have a full bar going. Draft beer, cocktails, anything to go along with your chili. Like we said, we've never been to a diner quite like this one. And we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit the other day. We tried the pho -- tasty broth, yummy noodles and beef, very nice, and a side of Kim chi. For our Asian-inclined partner, it was a wonderful treat. For the rest of us a hamburger and a cheeseburger with a side of fries worked out just fine. Add a Coke and we had a fine midday visit. The staff is young and quick and friendly, and the surroundings are no less pleasing. We ate inside at socially distanced booths; there were plenty of obvious COVID-19 precautions which we appreciated. There's also a nice dining area outdoors, which filled up quickly as we dined indoors. The diner is located right in the middle of Millerton, a delightful small town close to the Connecticut state line which boasts some interesting shops including two -- count 'em -- two book stores. We'll be back for sure.

Yelp
After being flooded out on some trails along the appalachian, my friend and I needed some food! Found this spot not too far and popped I for early Sunday eats! After a few days on the trails the Cobb salad hit the spot! But since it was Sunday, I had to go with the eggs Benedict in addition (ONLY MADE ON SUNDAYS). the service was fairly quick until and efficient. I would certainly stop by again and reccomend to passing hikers

Yelp
Really cute! My husband and I chose to sit at the counter because of a long wait for a table. We each had a bloody mary that wasn't as spicy as I like but did the trick. We weren't insanely hungry so he had a double egg sandwich with ham and cheese and I had 2 poached eggs with hash browns and an English muffin. My husband loved his sandwich and my eggs were perfectly runny and poached. The hash browns and English muffin were a little extra crispy but not inedible. Cute little diner but wouldn't go out of my way to stop again. (Maybe only to try the pho that I saw other diners enjoying!)

Yelp
This place has been on "my list" for awhile. It's an old diner in a small town in eastern NYS. After visiting Bash Bish Falls, the highest waterfall in Mass, two friends and I found ourselves only ten miles away. Outdoor seating was available, but no umbrella on our table. As it was 12:30, we grabbed it. Sienna brought our paper menu, which we shared. Paul and I ordered the "Banh Mi Roast Pork Sandwich" which came on a toasted baguette. Jamie ordered the "Double Header Cheesy Style". Drinks came quickly, as did the food. All of us enjoyed our selections. My sandwich was very tasty and interesting, with just the right amount of spiciness. In this age of Covid-19, it seemed that the menu choices were significantly fewer than pre-Covid. Understandable, when this diner is limited to outdoor seating. I hope to be back for breakfast some day as some of the selections looked interesting, if not eclectic. Oh, and getting back to Sienna....very efficient and personable.

Yelp
Retro diner with both booth and counter seating. The menu is an eclectic combo of both traditional diner fare + random other foods (pho for example). I came with my friend for lunch and we each got burgers with fries, but she got a vegan burger. We also split a milkshake. The burgers and fries were solid, but the shake was not all that impressive. They get the ice cream they use in their shakes from their soft serve machine, so they only have vanilla and chocolate flavors. We got a mix of them both, which just tasted like chocolate milk 7.5

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Great lunch or breakfast stop. Eat inside or out! Milkshakes and burgers are the best.

Brittany M.

Yelp
Great old time diner with unique upgraded menu! Staff is friendly and it's a happening place. Booths inside are a bit tight so if you need extra room you might checkout the outdoor seating. Food was out fast and delicious and hot I got the grilled chicken sandwich. Water is good and clean. They offer beer on tap, cocktails and harney teas! They have 1 person restroom facilities also a bit tight if you need extra room. Great place will come again!
google avatar

Tanya A.

Yelp
We stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. They had spacious outdoor dining and amazing service. I got a simple but delicious breakfast of two eggs, hash browns, sausage, and English muffin (and I asked for butter and jam). We also shared a side of pancakes which were yummy as well. While the portion sizes were perfect for me, a few people in our group thought the portion sizes were a little small. Either way, this is a good spot for breakfast in Millerton! Yelp
Pulled over and stopped at this diner on the way back from visiting the waterfalls. Almost didn't, Glad we did. They are doing their best during Covid-19... following health codes... QR Code ordering available, all disposable plates, etc. Pleasant outdoor seating. Very friendly server and buser. My sandwich came on Fantastic multigrain bread... delish!!! Ohhhh, the teas and lemonades! They use the local made Harney and Sons teas, Smart move! Pure syrup w pancakes... nice.
google avatar

Lara G.

Yelp
Great outdoor seating space. Try the Asian food things. I highly recommend the bahn mi sandwich and the lemongrass dumplings. Both excellent and delicious. Service was a little inattentive but they are likely having staff shortages like every other restaurant during the pandemic.
google avatar

J L.

Yelp
This is a great little diner! Being a local this is a pretty low key place to eat on a week night, well on a Thursday night as they are not open mon-wed. Weekends are unbelievably busy with out of Towners, but food is always on point and served in a timely manner. The staff are friendly and attentive! I would recommend this eatery even during the busy hours!
google avatar

Kelly K.

Yelp
Very good prices and good food! The patty melt was cooked perfectly! The service is primarily outdoors due to covid, but the patio was lovely and the temp was perfect!
google avatar

Yelp
Enjoyed the pancakes and veggie omelet for breakfast. Coffee really good. Excellent and friendly service. Happy we came to this classic diner in a cute old town feeling main street.

Joe B.

Yelp
Got french toast and coffee for breakfast. Absolutely delicious and very friendly staff!
google avatar

Evan G.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch when we were visiting family in the area. All the food was really really good and so was the service. I was also impressed by the beer and drinks menu they had for a diner.
google avatar

Ellen H.

Yelp
This place does have waiter/waitress service indoors and out. The food is excellent and it is right by the Harlem Valley rail trail.
google avatar

Agta B.

Yelp
We arrived expecting a traditional diner. From the outside it looked charming and cute and straight out of the movies. Inside, they had a traditional diner look with a metal counter/barstools and a few booths. Once we looked at the menu we realized we were in some gourmet diner. We loved the nitro iced tea - it was creamy and decadent and not just a plain iced tea. I loved my pinto beans with bacon, asparagus, Parmesan, kale chips and sunny side up eggs. It was delicious and I was stuffed. We also had the big daddy - hash browns with sausage and peppers with eggs. So good. The eggs were fresh and delicious. They tasted like they were straight off the farm. And the veggies were tender and well cooked. We loved stopping at this diner and would definitely return.
google avatar

Donna K.

Yelp
Food was not as ordered. Asked for over medium eggs and received over hard eggs. Was told could get over medium no problem. Waited over 20 minutes for the new eggs. Told them I did not want the eggs now as I was finished with breakfast had to split wife's meal with her. Ask them to take off bill said they would but did not.

Claudia D.

Yelp
Love it! It was the first place we ate at when we moved to a nearby town and now it's one of our go-to places when we're in Millerton. Good food, great service. VERY handy to the Rail Trail. Love it.
google avatar

J. K.

Yelp
Nice looking place, food is nothing special. Patty melt using locally sourced beef was flavorless. Good thing they provide chili sauce at the table. Went back again on 7/28/19. Still can't make a burger worth eating.
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
Guys...You have a great idea. People are lining up at the door. But if you don't start to execute on the idea I don't think the lines will be there much longer. The three of us had: a Pho soup; a Bahn Mi sandwich; and a pancake eggs and sausage. The soup lacked flavor, The Bahn Mi was three bites and the pancakes were just average. The menu is really smart and unique. If the food was great I would even be willing to pay the NYC prices. Time to concentrate on the food! Two and a half stars - I rounded up.
google avatar

Ann S.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best diners I've been to, staff was incredibly friendly, food was amazingly good & served very quickly. Only downside was their beverage selection was a little lacking for kids, definitely catered to a more adult audience. The Bahn Mi Roast Pork sandwich was amazing, the pickled carrots really added the right touch, the Cobb Salad was perfection and the kids cheeseburger was done perfectly. You should definitely check this spot out if you're in the area.
google avatar

Andréas O.

Yelp
I've been here for two meals now. The food is, well, exceptionally disappointing. I can't find a single positive thing about it. If it was half the price I could be persuaded to give it 3 stars, but for the price there's just no excuse. Unless you like to be served frozen hamburger patties. And fries that come from a bag. I just don't see why you'd serve food that isn't good. Like, it's not that hard. People make things good to eat all the time. Waitstaff is very friendly, hence the two stars. But I suppose if they were really that friendly they wouldn't serve the food the kitchen is putting out...
google avatar

Frejmarian F.

Yelp
Good breakfast foods and some good burgers! If you are looking for traditional American cuisine this is a good place to go! Good service and also very close to the rail trail and all the shops in millerton a good place to stop for lunch of a good breakfast if you are local.
google avatar

Jiyu L.

Yelp
One of the best burgers ever. Incredibly fast service. Highly recommend the veggie omelet and soft serve ice cream too!
google avatar

Sharon C.

Yelp
Let me be clear--this place is a gem. If you are in the area, this is not your typical diner. The meat is organic/from local farms. The food is good quality. There is outdoor seating and covid awareness. They also have a good selection of craft beers on tap. What more could you ask for....
google avatar

Raymond B.

Yelp
8 of us were on a motorcycle ride today and stopped here for a late breakfast. It was our first visit to Millerton and we'll definitely be back. Three of us had the Big Daddy breakfast and everyone else had an assortment of sandwiches and salads. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Millerton is nice little town and good place to spend a day walking around.

Yelp
The oakhurst diner has very good pancakes and ice cream qoute by my 10 year old grandson it was great

Yelp
I've just been conned. Paid $9.60 for two "lattes" in an espresso to go cup which is max 3 inches tall. And we even gave $1 tip. Never been so insulted in all my life. I was so shocked I couldn't say anything. I just walked out the door with my doll house size coffee. Disgraceful.
google avatar

Jane W.

Yelp
Yelp said diner was open. We rode an hour on Tuesday to get here. So upsetting... Love this place but must be accountable to sites like google and yelp!

Hayden F.

Yelp
Food isn't great, couldn't even finish the fries. service was ok, forgot my drink. Burger was very below average. Wouldn't go there again and definitely wouldn't recommend. Also booth seats don't comfortably accommodate 5'3" and above. overall wasn't a great experience.
google avatar

Lindsey S.

Yelp
Adorable spot - a refurbished train car - right on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail! The staff is super friendly, and they'll happily hurry your order if you're rushing to hit the movie theater down the block! Macrobiotic plates, perfect eggs Benedict and even locally raised hamburgers, steak frite - they have it all! A local business that supports local businesses.. and it's delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Ma Pho soup is the best, fills you up on a cold winter day.

Yelp
I love a good diner and Oakhurst is more than good! Nice staff. A good variety of menu items and an awesome burger! Highly recommend.

Yelp
We found this diner on our way to a car show. The atmosphere is retro & their outside patio is quaint. The menu has an eclectic selection of items. I ordered the Little Buddy w/Kale: Kale mixed with bacon, sausage, bell peppers, topped with melted American cheese and two sunny-side up eggs The presentation was wonderful, the quality of ingredients were fresh, and the flavors pop in your mouth. The service was also great, they were attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Good food and prices Great location near bike path Service a bit slow Not too keen on their touchless check-where waiter asks you how much would you like to leave: 15-20-25%.
