We spent two nights at this hotel and were very satisfied with our stay. The price-performance ratio was excellent, our room was cozy, and the breakfast was good. We truly appreciate the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. As a small suggestion, we believe this could be enhanced by avoiding disposable tableware at breakfast and perhaps improving insulation for the rooms as they can be quite drafty. Overall, we had a great experience and can absolutely recommend this hotel!

Was in town for a quick trip to visit mom one town away. Thankfully I literally only needed this room for sleep. I’m not sure if my room was in the process of being remodeled, but I’ll try to give them the benefit of the doubt because Room #105, right next to the front office, has a heating unit that is very broken. It appears the electrical board is disconnected and would barely turn on and definitely would not heat. I was able to get the fan to turn on, but seeing as the temperature dropped below 40 degrees that night, that was of no help. Unfortunately by the time I discovered this, the front desk was closed, so my dog and I spent a very chilly night using the extra blanket and luckily the comforter from the second bed. There was also a very size-able crack between the door and the frame, which I had to block with bath towels to keep even more cold air out. The outlet for the microwave was extremely loose, causing it to stop working repeatedly while heating food. Overall, the bed was comfy and we survived the cold, but definitely got out of there quickly in the morning. I will be on the lookout for a different dog-friendly hotel next time I am in town.

The place is very well maintained and the rooms are really good for the offered price. The service is amazing and the staffs are very friendly and accommodating. It has decent amount of parking spaces provided right in front of your room. The breakfast is included and doesn’t have many options though. The yosemite valley is an hour drive and Mariposa groove is about half an hour from here. This place is surrounded with plenty of food options may it be Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Fast food outlets, Grocery stores, and dining. Also it has many gas stations within the 100m vicinity.

Great location and amazing employees. We spent the night here after leaving Yosemite and on the way to Kings Canyon and Sequoia. Our room was clean and the bathroom was nice. Breakfast was good, especially since it’s included with the room. The room could definitely use some more lights and the beds were a little hard but its definitely worth it since you're spending much less than you would at any of the name brand hotels in the area.

The room was comfortable. Location is near to the city will book again next time when here… great customer service.

Google
The night manager was very rude...I'm a local and needed a place for the night. Not sure what her problem was. Told me I couldn't have anyone visit my room. Treated me like I was some criminal that was going to cause trouble. WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN. Pay the extra money and stay at the new hotels down the street. The room was old and not very clean. This hotel is one of the worst places in town...do not expect any amenities. Guess you get what you pay for. The breakfast was ok. Sad cuz 30 years ago (before I moved up here) this was the first place I stayed. Have good memories from that stay. Tines have changed.

In process of updates. Beautiful new shower. Still lots to do- but owners are delightful. Great breakfast in the am included with price. Waffles, fruit, cereal, yogurts. Worth the price to stay.

Google
I think it is under renovation, the parking is very small and there is no breakfast, they only trick you with bread, cereal, orange juice, milk and coffee, that's all 👎🏿 at 8 am they bring out some hard-boiled eggs and that's it

Yelp
Decided to take a road trip for 2023 New Year's and stayed at the Oakhurst lodge. Great place I would definitely recommend. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. no fancy amenities, but do you really need them when you're out hiking and enjoying the surroundings? Restaurants and coffee are all within walking distance. I would definitely return.

Yelp
Oakhurst lodge didn't meet our expectations: To start with, this lodge provides motel-style accommodations with rooms overlooking the parking lot. As the lodge guests arrived in the middle of the night, it got very loud, making it difficult to sleep. Second, our toilet seat wasn't well connected to the toilet. We asked for the toilet seat to be replaced. The replacement toilet seat contained a crack. Third, there was no soap in the room. The front desk lady brought us body wash to use instead of soap. Fourth, the bathroom door contained an indentation in it. Fifth, the walls of the room had different patches of green on them. Last, the TV wasn't easy to turn on. On the plus side, the front desk lady was very helpful. Overall, we won't be back.

Yelp
Where shall I begin?! We were given a room all the way in back. No words needed, as the pics will show you everything wrong about staying here. Worst experience ever. 1) Check-in is at 3pm. Do not arrive at 2:40. The unfriendly girl in front will have you come back to check in. 2) Room in back was completely filthy. Bed looked like it had been slept in for years and not cleaned--no exaggeration. 3) Door paint peeling off, and window screen bent. 4) Grime and mold in tub! 5) Gross stains on ceiling. 6) Traveling contractors are put in rooms in back, too. You'll be awaken by workers running their engines at 5-6am to warm their work vehicles 7) Supposedly no upstairs rooms available. Yet, people were coming in and given upstairs rooms. 8) Family with kids jumping around upstairs until past midnight. Worst place I've ever stayed. This surprises me for such a popular tourist destination. Yosemite is beautiful, but not having a decent night's sleep does affect the experience.

Yelp
Looking for a place to stay at a reasonable price. I was pleasantly surprised with how clean the room was and how cute the inside was. Looking and the reviews now (lol, I should have looked before I booked the room but honestly never thought of hotels for Yelp! now i know!), I think they've remodeled since the other reviews. The bathrooms are decent and the king bed room was roomy. The front room is friendly and polite. I think once they get the kinks out they could be a 4 star. Little things like 2 wastebaskets in the room (one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom). A shower mat in the tub would be nice so you won't slip or the decals to make it less slippery. How about a box of tissue for blowing your nose? Little touches could make this a stellar hotel.

Yelp
Where do I begin? There is no soap in any of the dispensers and there's blood on our toilets which is not mine or family members. The good is at least the Internet is fast and the shower pressure is good. But hygiene is bad here!! So gross. I hope I don't get bed bugs....yikes.

Yelp
My family and I visited Yosemite memorial weekend 2021 and we stayed at Yosemite lodge. Bruce let us check in early and was very nice and pleasant. The room was clean and decent. The only upside is the air conditioner. It gave cold air it just didn't reach the entire room. When we checked out, the woman at the front desk was very nice too. I'm assuming she was the owner and or/manager. The rooms are a bit outdated BUT they are renovating the rooms so hopefully by the time we visit again the rooms will have been completed. The pool is open and parking is free. Sorry I don't have photos to upload, I forgot to take some. I was too excited for Yosemite.

Yelp
Room was dirty. No toilet paper, bathtub didn't work, tv had a big blue line, coffee maker broken, smelt like something dead, pee stain on sheet, miss matching paint and drywall, wires hanging out of fire alarm, multi plug stretched among floor for TV, blown light bulbs, sticky furniture, door doesn't close unless slammed, cigarette butts around entrance, pool is green and moldy, have to drive through 6" puddles of mud and water to get to room, toilet tank was apart and ran all night, used soap left in bathroom, woman's hair in tub, tv blocking room mirror, took almost 10 minutes to get hot water, said they were booked and had to buy a double when I was by myself. ( only one car in parking lot) moldy breakfast. Ect, ect...

Yelp
I strongly suggest staying anywhere besides the Oakhurst Lodge. First of all the concierge "Josie" is unfriendly, racist, and unhelpful. It's not clean, smelled funky, and the shower was cold, the tv didn't work. When we called and asked her for assistance she was rude and emotional about helping us. I don't think working at a hotel is the right job for this woman. Do yourself a favor, spend a little more money and head to best western or comfort inn up 41.

Yelp
BED BUGS! BED BUGS! BED BUGS! You have been warned!! I am never one to leave negative reviews for a business but when Mr. Norman Bates, I mean Bruce Loyd, at the front desk refused any kind of compensation for my traumatic experience, I felt it necessary to try and warn future visitors. I have never been bitten by a bed bug in my life and all night I could feel something crawling on me in the sheets. I turned the flashlight on in my phone and tried to see them but was unsuccessful due to their shy nature to light. Once morning came I had bites all up and down my back that certainly were not there prior to our stay at the Bates motel, I mean Oakhurst Lodge. As we were leaving and had removed our luggage from the room, I gave the mattress and box spring a good shaking and sure enough began spotting the gross little things hopping around. (See the pictures attached for bites and bug pics) When we approached Mr Bruce Loyd with our honest descrepancy substantiated by PICTURE EVIDENCE of the bugs and PHYSICAL BITES ON MY SKIN, his excuse was "well sometimes these things happen when we get foreigners from other countries. They have a tendency of bringing bed bugs into the hotel....." WHAT?!?!?! THATS YOUR EXPLANATION BRUCE LOYD??? I could give a rats ass what the reasoning behind me being the entree for a family of bed bugs that night was, what are you going to do to fix the problem???! His response was let me talk to Nick when he gets in, aka the management team, and he will reach out to you. We left him our cell phone numbers and he never attempted to reach out. Don't stay here, I guarantee you this Bruce Loyd character went ahead and booked guests in our room right after we complained about the bed bugs. Wouldn't put it past these people. Btw the rates are a complete rip off, around 250 a night so find a better place. You won't regret it!

Yelp
SUPER friendly staff. Not only did he (didn't get his name..) reduce our price (for a short notice extended stay-on a weekend too!), but he was very helpful in introducing us to the area/recommending hikes around Yosemite Valley. Do not expect a hotel-like place, it is definitely not fancy. Still, a very fair deal considering what the prices are like a bit closer to the valley. It took us about 1h45min to drive from the Lodge to Glacier Point (AMAZING hikes up there), but I believe it is under a 30 minute drive from the South entrance of the valley. All in all, we were pleased with this spot. Would go back again next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
While in Oakhurst or need a place to crash before you hit up Yosemite or Basslake consider this place. If you're on a budget and all you need is a place to drop your stuff and shower from time to time, come here. Pluses: Cozy beds, flat screen TVs, Coffee in the room and a blow drier. There's a breakfast bar in the lobby as well. Location is within walking distance from restaurants, fast food and a Rite Aid. Cons: When we arrived there was an old coffee filter in the machine and this was never changed out when the room was cleaned, nor were the cups replaced. Room kinda smelled like there was "smoker" in it before. Its not a very quiet location either. There were all sorts of voices waking me up at 4 in the morning on the last night. AND the OJ machine was busted. Older reviews of this place dont surprise me either. But like Emily M. says "Hey, you get what you pay for.". Overall: Sure Id stay here again. Management just needs to get the cleaning staff in line and maybe add a security guard at night.

Yelp
The lock on our first room didn't work, so anyone could access the room. After putting our stuff away we discovered this issue just as we were trying to lock the door to leave for dinner. The staff graciously moved us to another room. The carpets in the new unit were stained with well something. The electrical outlets aren't located where you expect. One useable outlet in the bathroom and for the coffee maker. on top of a high shelf. There was no clock or radio. They did had TV and wifi. There wasn't a closet just two partitions with a rod and hangers. There is no cleaning service, we stayed three nights and had to put a hang tag on the knob to have our towels changed. The door had a 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap at the bottom that huge issue given the temp was in the mid 60's at night. In the winter the room will have a definite draft unless they install a threshold. The so called breakfast included bagels and toast and a waffle maker and yogurt. No eggs of any kind. some cereal. The orange juice dispenser was out of orange juice. The staff were nice and welcoming.

Yelp
This BY FAR THE WORST HOTEL I have ever stayed in. It is worse than the worst Motel 6. Motel 6 is like the Waldorf Astoria compared to this place. So we arrive. TV doesn't work, and there is no soap at all in the room. I call the front desk. The manager guy (Who is probably the owner, but he doesn't want you to know) brings soap and fixes the TV. No apologies at all from him. He leaves. Next day is spent at Yosemite Valley. We arrive back after a long day of activities to find that our rooms have not been cleaned. The beds are unmade, and there are still used towels in the bathroom. I call the front desk. The same manager guy says he doesn't know why the room wasn't cleaned, and says he'll speak to the cleaning lady. Again, no apologies from him. The next day, I take a shower. The hot water lasted for approximately 60 seconds, before turning almost as cold as the weather outside. I had to jump out of the shower naked. I just dried off, instead of going back into that ice water. I call the front desk. The manager guy says that the water turned cold because most of the guests are probably taking a shower at once, at that is putting a burden on the heating tank. DUDE, NOT MY PROBLEM. FIX IT. Checkout was the same day. At checkout, I asked for a discount or a refund, due to the terrible amenities. The manager refused, stating that he is simply a manager, and the owner would not grant such a request. I mentioned all of the problems. He kept agreeing with me that there are problems with the hotel, and acted like he is powerless to fix them. I asked to speak with the owner, and he gave me the following email address on a card: Reservations@oakhurstlodge.com. He says to email that address to reach the owner. HAHAHA. The guy thinks I'm an idiot. He gave me the address to the hotel's own reservations unit. If I send an e-mail there, the same manager guy will receive my complaint email, laugh out loud to himself, then delete my email. As I left in disgust, there was a poor old man, who had to be at least 75, complaining that his room had NO HOT WATER AT ALL. Poor guy. I felt bad for him. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. The rooms are worth $15 a night MAX, simply because the amenities (or lack thereof) are much worse than any Motel 6 ever. The only reason they can charge remotely as much as they do is because they are located near Yosemite.

Yelp
I never really write reviews but I feel the need to mention that I overall enjoyed my time at the Oakhurst Lodge, but find it extremely disappointing that my nice pillow was not returned to me upon leaving it at the motel. I called several times to ask if my pillow was found and nothing showed up. It was never turned into the front desk. I'm recovering from a dislocated shoulder and I used that special pillow to keep my shoulder and back straight when I sleep. I am very angry about this but I guess there's nothing I can do. I hate to say this but don't leave any valuables in your room when you're away and be sure to pack up everything before leaving. I don't understand why anyone would want to take or throw away someone else's pillow. (I stayed at the Oakhurst Lodge during March, 2017)

Yelp
Good value, comfortable, CLEAN. quite... a down side, volume button on tv doesn't respond, boo who... ... so for the room rate, (we had a group rate) a good deal....

Yelp
I gave it a 3 star rating because 2.5 stars wasn't an option. This is definitely not the Marriott. The room was simple but clean. The television didn't work initially but we called the front desk and within minutes someone showed up and fixed it. (just a settings issue). They do allow dogs but you must request a "pet room' in advance. We didn't try the breakfast. There were no bugs of any sort in our room. There were two of us in the room and we didn't run out of hot water when showering. My only real complaint was that the air conditioning didn't work well, they did offer to give us a different room but it was late and we were exhausted so we just stayed put. All in all I think it is overpriced for the accommodation . But if you are pressed for a place to stay, it's centrally located and clean.

Yelp
It was the worst motel I've ever stayed out of my life power went out in the Milva night and we left the next morning with power still off no shower no cat no breakfast and no refund the owners or a bunch of slum lord motel owners they said they would compensate me been two weeks haven't heard a word I wouldn't recommend a cockroach stay there

Larry G.

Yelp
BED BUGS, BED BUGS!!!!!!! If you like to sleep with bed bugs, then this hotel is for you. They made no attempt to treat the room and I was immediately accused of bring the bugs with me! I was shocked and offended. Stay away...

Yelp
The AC didn't work right, there are soap and shampoo dispensers that didn't work, the blow dryer had fallen off the wall and with a rick coil attached to it it was very hard to use. Everything was booked closer to Yosemite, so this was one of my few options at $200 a night. Would not stay here again.

Yelp
Oh... Where to begin...? I'll start by saying that Nick, the new owner, is a very nice man. He was pleasant to talk to, knew the area well, offered breakfast, etc. Unfortunately, that's where the pleasantry ends. The room. Oh boy. We walked in and the place smelled like stale smoke and bleach. The faucets all leaked, there was a large hole in the wall above the shower. There were bugs all over the bathroom. Oh, but the security was top notch! The front door locks were a joke. But the bathroom window even locked - in the form of a pvc pipe to hold the window closed... Then the bed, if you can call it that. It was pretty much an innerspring with fabric sewed around it. And the sheets were stained, so we literally slept on top of them (not in them) and used our sweaters as blankets. Needless to say, within 5 minutes of arriving, I had booked a different hotel for the next night. I truly hope Nick can turn this place around, but he has his work cut out for him.

Yelp
This budget friendly motel is one I would return to. The beds were firm, but I was still able to get a good nights sleep. The pillows were nice and soft. Our room was dated, but it's a budget friendly motel and what I expected. The room was clean. It was quiet at night. The breakfast in the morning exceeded expectations and was delicious. The breakfast room as clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. A nice place to stay for the night and I'd stay here again.

Yelp
Given that Oakhurst Lodge is one of the lower-cost hotels/motels in Oakhurst, I'm rating it on a sliding scale: to what degree was it worth the money I paid? My answer: completely. We were coming in extremely late after our four-day backpacking trip lasted about five hours longer than planned and left us at 10pm in the park not wanting to deal with setting up camp and finding showers. We were looking for a clean, comfortable place to sleep and shower. The room was clean, top to bottom. None of the concerns that others mentioned were an issue. There were no foul odors, no bleach or smoke, no stains... the beds were comfy and the pillows were fluffy and ample! There were no bugs. The doors have a keycard and a interior metal lock; both worked fine! The a/c worked great and regulated the temp well. The shower was hot and the water pressure was good. On top of that, there were some unexpected bonuses--lots of soap and shampoo dispensers, a quite delicious breakfast spread (juice, coffee, cereal, bagels, toast, muffins, fresh fruit, DIY waffles, hard-boiled eggs), and the staff--even the 1am shift--was incredibly nice, friendly, and professional. The only "off" thing was that one of our towel racks was broken and had been fixed with tape. It didn't affect its function so we didn't mind, it was just a little odd! If you're looking for an affordable place to get a good night's sleep, Oakhurst Lodge was great to us.

Yelp
Perfectly clean room. Quick check-in. Kind staff. the hotel is so quiet, I am so glad I can park my car right outside my room. It's as adorable as it seems on the site. The price is so great it really made my trip to Yosemite so affordable to find a gem like this.
google avatar

Yelp
We stayed here on our way to Yosemite. The only pro to this lodge is that it is in walking distance to pretty much everything. Now the cons.. The swimming pool looks like it is manifesting diseases and hasn't been cleaned in ages. The air conditioner was a hunk of junk and sounded like it was going to bust at any moment. The front door locks were a joke, any one could have walked in. Not to mention the hole in the wall behind the door. For how much this hotel charges it is not worth it. Look elsewhere.

Steve B.

Yelp
Room smells like cigarettes. When kids went to take their showers we only had cold water and when I called the front desk his response was because our neighbor must of used up all the hot water.
google avatar

Calvin C.

Yelp
I believe any poor reviews this place garnered are relevant only to the past. New management took over in autumn of 2015. Led by Nic Patel, Oakhurst Lodge now offers the most friendly and warm staff I've come across. Along with renovated and clean room interiors at affordable prices. I stayed only one night ahead of a Yosemite-plus-San-Fran road trip. But during check-in it was immediately obvious that the front desk is eager to help, professional, sincere, and well-versed on the neighboring area. Don't forget to get Nic's advice and philosophy on what the important things in life are. He's a blast to deal with, and infects customers and fellow staff alike with cheerful energy.

Yelp
Came to Yosemite for one day and decided to stay for two. I was looking for an economical hotel and Oakhurst Lodge fit the bill. The gentleman at the front desk was welcoming and efficient-check in was a breeze. Our room was large and clean. It was great having a little fridge and two grocery stores right down the street; we were able to lay in supplies for the next day that night, leaving us more time to play in Yosemite. Definitely an older building, but room was nicer than the exterior would lead you to believe. Simple. Clean. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
Short story: 1. this place is extremely ghetto looking for the area 2. the people that work here have no idea what they are doing 3. we were not given service at all due to their own negligence even though we pre-paid 4. they refused to let me talk to a manager or owner or even give me their information because it is "against California law" Long story: We arrived to this location after a 4 hour drive from the Bay Area only to be told they were not accepting check-ins because their "server was down." I understood and figured we were a bit early anyway (about 1:15pm), so we went to eat some amazing BBQ at Todd's BBQ (see other yelp post, 5 stars) and drive around Bass Lake. We returned after 3pm but were told their servers were still down and they could not service us or any customers at all. Now, I'm no hotel clerk extraordinaire, but if I worked at a place and had a major problem like this, I would take the initiative and use some problem solving skills to get the job done without the all powerful computer. Seriously, how hard would it be to revert to the ancient times of doing business and use paper and logic? It might be hard, and you might confuse some things and make it difficult, but wouldn't that be better than telling a whole hotel's worth of customers to wait for an unknown amount of time in 90 degree heat after they spent unsaid hours driving to your vacation spot? Personally, we have plans, so we can't wait on incompetence. So, after we were told that we could not check in I asked to speak with the manager or owner. The pre-law grad behind the desk told me that giving a "stranger" the information of the manager was "illegal under California law." I explained to her that the statement was nonsense. I am not a stranger, I am a customer. I paid $300 for a service that I was not being provided with so I wanted to speak with a manger. I was refused, so I made sure another person witnessed it, which they did and noted I would eventually get the information anyway and advise I was refused service and the manager's contact information. I understand technical problems, but if that technical problem completely shuts down your business and renders your employees mentally impotent, it's time to create a back up system or hire someone who gradumatated heh skoo. PS, we went to Best Western, a block down, with great service, better lodging, pools, and all that at a comparable price. We got our Oakhurst reservation canceled through hotels.com, where we made the reservations.

Yelp
Hey, you get what you pay for. In this case, I just needed a place to lay my head for the night. I paid $60 for one night. The room was dated, but decent. It was clean, but the comforters on the bed could use a little a refresher. Noise from the road was a bit loud, and so was the air conditioner/heater. But things like that are why I always travel with ear plugs and a white noise app on my phone. Problem solved. $60 for a hotel is practically nothing, so I was just pleased to walk away from there unharmed.

Yelp
I had a queen room for one night in June of 2016. The Good: Bathtub/Shower, pressure was OK, TV, mini-fridge, powerful A/C. Friendly service, and solid continental breakfast. The Bad: Extremely thin walls, super loud A/C, making it hard to get a good nights sleep. Conclusion: Could be worse. I would stay here again, but for no more than $70 dollars a night.

Yelp
One star for location. I should have slept in my car. Pros: 15 min south of Yosemite Park entrance Parking Cons: Smelled bad Dirty coffee brewer Bathroom was partially cleaned Dirty carpet Wifi was down-when we were there Loud AC which is attached at the window I did not book this place, my step brother did. I would never have stayed if I saw these reviews. Not even for free.

Yelp
My fiance and I stayed here for two nights in early August for a wedding. I have stayed in some horrible hotels before, but this one takes the cake. To start, we arrived at least an hour after check in, and were in a hurry to change and get settled before the rehearsal dinner. We got to our room and the door was wide open. Walked in an no one was there. Turns out the room attendants were cleaning multiple rooms at a time and had left ours hanging. After standing outside the open door for a couple of minutes wondering what was going on, finally someone showed up to let us know that they were still cleaning our room and it would be a few minutes. We ended up waiting outside of our room for about 20 minutes for them to finish. The air conditioning was a huge wall unit right under the window and next to the bed and VERY loud. The door (at least in our room) didnt seem to fit properly in the frame- I could see outside through the crack in the door it was so big! The walls are as thin as paper. Anytime someone opens or closes a door in a three room radius, you hear it and you feel it. Not to mention if anyone stands outside of their room and has a cell phone conversation in the middle of the night for 45 minutes, you WILL be woken up. We were also woken up around 6 o clock BOTH mornings, by what sounded like a lawn mower outside of our door. Looked out the window to see what it was- and YEP, its a john deer lawn mower that the care staff decided to use as transportation around the property. Let me just tell you- this lot is NOT that big- motorized transportation of ANY kind is not needed. This lodge is the best deal in the area but I'd rather stay at a Motel 6. I am not sure if there even is a motel 6 in Oakhurst, but there are a couple of 4 star hotels on the way up the freeway- I'd splurge and stay at one of those if you find yourself needing to stay in Oakhurst anytime soon.

Yelp
Considering we booked this place 2 weeks before we came: Pluses: Flat Screen HDTV AC that works,,,,almost too well(kinda loud). A pool. Large room. 30 minutes from Yosemite's South Entrance,,,,15 mins from Bass Lake Minuses: Wi-Fi is crap. Go down the street to Starbuck's. Saggy matresses. What breakfast,,,never knew about that? All in all for $149,,not to shabby. Good value.

Yelp
Absolutely Horrible! I was taking a solo trip and Oakhurst lodge fit into my budget. I was very impressed by the young woman I spoke with when making the reservation. She was very friendly and helpful. Here is a list of all the problems: 1. Bed had not been changed. Dirty sheets. 2. Feces still in the toilet 3. used soap in the shower. 4. Filthy! 5. Air condition sounds like a jet plane 6. WiFi very weak 7. Although smoking is not allowed the room smelled of stale cigarettes. If it had not been that when I checked out the owner happened to be in the office and when I mentioned the above he told the desk clerk to comp me for both nights. I was told by someone in a coffee shop in town that they thought the business was in foreclosure. My guess is that the owner is in over his head. I will not be staying there again.

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights, 1 thing good about it is it's proximity to Yosemite and restaurants with 3 kids that was important. The bad : old towels, musty smell in the room, shampoo and shower gel in pump dispensers the conditioner dispenser was not working., average free breakfast, had activia 1 morning none the next, hair dryer needs to be mounted on the wall . There is an old base mounted on the wall dont know why they couldn't mount this one, our bed was HARD!!. Lastly dishonest staff, front desk was nice but we lost something when our room was cleaned. Great restaurant/sports bar Southgate nearby., best draft beer I ever had

Yelp
Stay away from this place. Pictures are deceiving. I book this place for two night stay. Only person nice and knows the meaning of customer service is front desk girl (didn't get her name ) but horrible manager who needs Serious lessons on management and customer service. I wanted to cancel my reservations due to the fact , pool was not operational and room just didn't feel to the standard of price I paid . very old run down place . I told them at front desk I read on a website you guys have pool (my kids love to swim ) .instead of asking open ended questions trying to find out which web site I read about the pool property manager started to accuse me of lying. He got so loud in the lobby ,it was so embarrassing for me as a customer but not a problem for this guy like it was everyday thing for him. His tone of voice was unbelievable and Unheard of for someone who is at the manager position. Phone in the room have no directions which number to dial for front desk , when I brought that up, his response was "Are you new to America" it's always 0. Wow , shocking reply. This manager guy is so over his head wanted me to apologize for the fact I told him I read somewhere this place have pool. Are you kidding me you want customer to apologize. Being his same race , he made some shocking racist comments which I wouldn't want to share here . Checked out early next day so I could go back to enjoying my vacation . Horrible experience at this place. As for the room : 1. Very hard to open the front door 2. Bathroom door lock wouldn't work. 3. Hard spring top beds. 4. Loud but powerful AC . 5. Slow wifi connection. 6. Old shower head with no bath tub.

Yelp
Zero stars, this place is horrible. The manager Nick put his hospitality skills to work yelling at my almost 9 month pregnant wife all because he wouldn't honor the AAA discount he promised over the phone when the reservation was made. The rate for this room was $109 per night with the horrible service and run down quality of the building. America's best value Inn was only $80 per night (with AAA) and is much better quality all around. The way we were treated at the Oakhurst lodge I'd rather have stayed in my car. Even if customer service faced serious improvement the room itself is not worth the cost.

Yelp
One star for NO HOT WATER and POOR PLUMBING. You can find better in the area.

Yelp
If you're picky or expect a Marriott or Hyatt, please don't stay here. This is a hole in the wall, family owned motel. The drywall may not be nicely patched. The paint job outside may not be the most gorgeous, but the room was very clean. The rooms are simple. We had a two queen bed. Clean carpet, open bathroom, old but clean shower with vinyl flooring. We barely heard anybody throughout the night. It did surprise us that there was a back building which seemed a little creepy the first time, but felt safe afterward. They are pretty "green". Dispenser soap, lotion, body wash, conditioner, etc. Their light bulbs were LED. You will pay double if not triple this rate for something a little better closer to Yosemite. This is conveniently located of you're ok driving an hour and 15 mins to Yosemite. Vons, Raleys, grocery outlet, a couple restaurants nearly. Nick and his wife are awesome and fun to talk to at the front desk. I noticed a lot of guests coming by and joking around and sharing stories with them. Very down to earth owners. For the people who complained about no hot water: I noticed that most rooms had their own water heater behind the shower. Maybe they had rooms that had shared water heaters or maybe another guest in their room used it all up. We had NO issue with hot water. It literally came within 5 seconds of turning on the faucet.

Yelp
BAD, VERY BAD. They only reason they stay in business is because there are not enough hotels in the area. We got there last week and the first room that we were assigned was dirty and the sink had bugs in it, before we even walked back to the reception we started to call other hotels and everything was booked so that was it, we were stuck. Long story short, we got another room, stained and old linoleum floor in the bathroom area, the shower had black mold in the crevices, the fan in the bathroom sounded like an airplane, the a/c worked well but also old and noisy. Free wi-fi a least to get emails, little flat screen tv, hair dryer, no iron or ironing board. It's not worth $165

Yelp
Location good. Owner of the property was pleasant. Water pressure horriffic! Pop's breakfast next door is great. If you want to take a real shower before going into the mountains to camp you're better off pouring bottled water on your head in the parking lot.

Yelp
Quiet little motel. Clean rooms with coffee, micro and a fridge. And the staff is so nice and accommodating. Great little hole in the wall stay

Yelp
Cliff notes: It is a below average hotel. Stay here only if you have no other options. As mentioned by other members, the best thing is its close proximity to the park, restaurants, and shops (Subway, Crab Cake house, Rite Aid, Starbucks, McDonalds, Jamba Juice, Vons, etc). We stayed here for 2 nights. We expected more for the price we paid ($120+/night at the discounted rate). Unfortunately, there was not a lot of vacancy in the area, so we settled here. We noticed a lot of unpleasant surprises with Oakhurst Lodge: 1) The room wall behind the door was punctured by the door handle. 2) The drapes did not close all the way, so we had to apply binder clips to them to prevent people from looking into our room. 3) There were stains on the towels and sheets on both nights of our stay, despite being "cleaned." 4) Our keys were mysteriously deactivated upon our return on the second night. They blamed our cell phones. 5) The staff didn't seem to know much about the area and couldn't tell us where the closest souvenir/gift shop was. Also, they could not tell us the directions to a restaurant two blocks straight down the same street. They asked us to call for directions. 6) They did not offer any breakfast due to construction. 7) They lost our check-in paperwork and asked whether we signed anything. They ended up charging us more than our promised reservation price.

Yelp
"Not Bad" considering we were faced with the option of sleeping in a parking lot because Miners Inn Motel in Mariposa had sold our room before we had the chance to check-in (and yes I did have a confirmation number for our reservation - and we were told there were no rooms available in Mariposa). The room at Oakhurst Lodge was clean and the decor was suitable, the staff was cordial and helpful. After the sales tax was added in our bill was $165 for us and our 2 kids. Not the Fairmont, but at least we were safe from the bears!!

Yelp
The best thing this place has going for it is its location. It's about 20 mins from the south entrance to Yosemite (about 1 hour to Yosemite Valley), and surrounded by tons of restaurants, a grocery store, starbucks, sporting goods, and a few drug stores. This gives you many options for dining out or just grabbing fast food. Pros: location, inexpensive, complementary breakfast, flat screen/fridge/microwave/coffee maker in room, room larger than expected, nice employees. Cons: Room is in desperate need of repair/upkeep. The heater and one lamp did not work. Mismatched chairs. Carpet and bathroom was gross. Bed had no comforter on it (just the sheets and a thin blanket that did not come with the sheets or bed). 3 pillows (I asked for more but they didn't have any extras to give). Had to ask for a second blanket, almost needed a third. Overall, I gave this place 3 stars b/c I knew not to expect much for the price. It provided all that I needed/expected (bed to sleep in so I could hike during the day). Folks were nice here, enjoyed eating out at the surrounding restaurants, and got to visit Yosemite without having to spend too much. The owners need to do some basic maintenance and upkeep here, some of it is just inexcusable (such as the broken heater in the winter, no comforters, and lack of pillows...). It has so much more potential than is currently being used, which is disappointing. Don't expect a Four Seasons when booking here, it's a place designed for those with tight budgets as their main priority. The hotel doesn't make the trip, Yosemite is what makes it worth going.

Yelp
I admit I haven't been writing lots of reviews, but I feel compelled to leave one for Oakhurst Lodge. For reasons I won't get into, I needed to find a motel close to a Starbucks. When I found OL, I booked it right away being attracted to the photos posted on their website. I chose the Direct Booking option to get 10% off. But only after I made the reservation did I read the poor reviews on Yelp. They scared me, but I figured I wouldn't be able to cancel due to Direct Booking, so I arrived with some anxiety. Well, I was super impressed by my experience. That's why I wanted to share my positive review. Nick, the part owner, received me at the front desk (seems that he's there most of the time). We had very pleasant interactions and he was very accommodating. I understand that he only took over the management three months ago, so it might be understandable that my positive experience contrasts some negative ones from long time ago. Anyway, the room was as expected and fits its price range. Everything is clean and I did not detect any smoke smell. It is a very large complex. I got Room 48, which is far from the lobby. I had full bars for Wifi and had satisfactory speed. But just like with any Wifi, if you arrive in a peak season when there are lots of guests using the same Wifi and/or you are far away from the router, I won't be surprised that you may experience some slowness in Wifi. If internet is of great concern, you should let Nick know, so he might try to place you close to Wifi, or at least let you know what to expect. One thing I noticed was when I turned on the hot water, it did not come ... for minutes. Well, I stayed during off season and there were very few guests. And I figured my room must be far from the broiler, so the hot water took a long time to arrive. I do not blame that on the motel because that's just how the infrastructure works. I don't get instant hot water at my own home anyway. Sometimes, a little understanding can go a long way. I had a very delicious dinner (vegetarian Enrico's pasta) at DiCicco's Italian Restauran next door. I didn't know at the time, but learned later that they give 10% discount to OL guests. Don't forget that if you decide to check them out.

Yelp
This place is a joke. They advertise a swimming pool. When we got there it was dark Green. God only knows what kind of disease is in that pool. This is Labor Day and no pool. $185 for a flee bag place. We left. Shame on them

Yelp
The couple who runs the place are kind. The lady is way more professional and personable than the man. Their kid is adorable. The rooms are clean and it's the cleanest most peaceful hotel in the area. Glad the establishment is under new management than a few years ago. The 3rd time I stayed here the fridge didn't work at all so the $40 I spent on food at Dicicco's was wasted cause we couldn't keep the calamari and chicken in the safety zone temperature wise. When I called to ask if they would fix it or replace it with another small one he couldn't be bothered and asked us to switch rooms. We didn't wanna gather all of our belongings and switch rooms at 11pm.....I arrived at 8:40pm. Other than that and the towels and sheets having marks on them it's good which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I would recommend this place if You are in the Yosemite area and have nowhere else to stay it's good prices and good customer service for the area

Yelp
Its not a bad motel/hotel. Its close to all the big shops and restaurants. Its also only 30 minutes away from the entrance to Yosemite. The room is pretty clean. I give my experience there a solid 3 stars. For the price I think its totally worth it.
