On the Grid : Oaklandish

"For all things Oakland, Bay Area or California, but mostly Oakland, Oaklandish is the store for you. Forever immortalized on t-shirts, hoodies, hats, pins, socks, bandannas and of course skateboards, it's your choice what flavor or neighborhood of Oakland you want to represent. You'll find a healthy dose of local icons: the Port of Oakland cranes, the city's tree logo, Lake Merritt, the sugar skull. Other Bay Area hoods have a designated rack near a selection of Levi's and locally made goods to round out their selection. Our top pick: a toddler shirt melding the West Oakland BART rails with Fairyland’s iconic Jolly Trolly." - Arcsine

The staff members were super-friendly and honest about the fit of my hoodie when I was last here a while back. I ended up getting a more slim-fitting one and it actually sort of keeps me motivated to exercise and keep trim (just so I can fit in it). I get compliments on it all the time. The selection of products is nicely curated. You'll find things here that you won't easily find at other stores. On a separate but somewhat related note, a friend recently got me a two-toned mug from this store, which has quickly become my favorite go-to mug. Every time I visit Oakland I try to poke my head into this shop to see what's in store (literally).

Google
great store. caution: their designs come and go. I've thought I'd wait to buy a shirt then find out a design is forever gone. in other words buy it while it lasts? they support local artists and have more than clothes at their store. I have seen some of their shirts at the Oakland A's store inside the Coliseum. employees are great. great vibes. I have gifted shirts here and sent them overseas. (saying that youre from Oakland-ish instead of San Leandro, Alameda, etc. makes sense. I usually say SF Bay; SF East Bay to be exact)

Google
If you're looking for a local brand that feels and expresses the artistry and culture of the Bay Area, then this is the place to shop! I love the sweaters and shirts I bought here! Whether you're buying for yourself or for a significant other, then Oaklandish is the Go-To for Bay Area clothing. The customer service was great, great people to work with! I'll definitely be coming back for more unique Bay Area clothing. Thanks Oaklandish!

Google
Best store ever. If you are an Oakland native or an out of town guest the clothing and accessories at Oaklandish are a must have. Super soft hoodies and T-Shirts in all sizes....Proud of the Town!!!

Google
Great selection of oakland gear, caps, shirts, jackets and sweaters. My only complaint is they do not offer senior or veteran discounts. Would not recommend to a fellow vet!

Brooke Shapiro

Google
Love the Oakland themed clothes but the prices are a little high for graphic tees. I wish it were a little more affordable so that I would actually purchase something instead of window shop.

Google
Great selection of merchandise and awesome staff. Especially Krystal, Bre'on, Tre and Dre. They were very professional and courteous to me and my daughter. I get compliments on my gear. Thanks for my Bay Area drip. Love all my apparel. This Oaklandish shop is definitely the place to check for fly gear and elite service. You can feel the Bay Area vibe and sense the pride as you look at through merchandise. Once again shoutout to the staff. 🗽

Google
Nice store, has some cool pieces but way too pricey. Brought the in-laws here for some oakland merchandise. Wish they would stock some cheaper options like magnets or small stickers.

Yelp
My son loves uniques hoodies and beanies, so of course this is a store for him. He had previously bought a sweatshirt from this shop so we came back to see what was new. On this venture him and my daughter ended up with a few beanies, but no sweatshirt this go around. Prices are decent and the feel of the store is very youthful and funky. I must say I loved the old phone booth. Pretty hipster store so if you have teenagers, this is a place you want to stop by,

Yelp
Oaklandish is more than just a shop; it's a vibe. Stepping into this spot in Oakland feels like entering a treasure trove of community spirit. From the vibrant artwork adorning the walls to the comfy sweatshirts and eclectic selection of books, there's something here for everyone. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Oaklandish offers a slice of the city's unique culture and creativity. Stop by, soak up the good vibes, and maybe even take a piece of Oakland home with you.

Yelp
When I come to Oakland for work...I always make it a stop at Oaklandish. They always have cool clothing, stickers and even jewelry. This time I purchased some really cool stud earrings (yellow hearts). I've purchased a tshirt and Nalgene in the past. I look forward to my next trip and purchase!

Yelp
Nice place for Oakland souvenirs! I was expecting more of a selection (postcards, cards, coasters, etc) per the other reviews posted here, but I didn't see as many. Might be because I got there later in the day! Great place, though, with lots of shirts, clothing, tote bags, and posters!

Yelp
So much love for Oaklandish!!! If you're a local they're a necessity to rep your roots while supporting a wonderful, creative business that does so much for the community! If you're a Town visitor, there is no place better to pick up gifts for friends and family; and grab some wearable memorabilia for yourself to remember your trip! My most recent purchase was limited edition DubNation celebratory shirts and the one pictured here as gifts. I used the website and the transaction was seamless, and the gifts arrived today (ordered on Friday!!). Will definitely be back, again and again and again!

Yelp
Good products, the employees have a tiny bit of an attitude, but not enough to ruin the visit. Parking is a nightmare, and they don't open until 11 am. If you can, shop online, if you're in the area anyway, visit the store, it's a vibe.

Nitas M.

Yelp
Ordered a customizable sandwich at the coffee shop in the airport on my to find that it was not customizable and I ended up paying an extra $6 for customization that couldn't be done. We were about to board our flight so couldn't do anything to remedy the problem if they need to align their app ordering with what their staff can and can't actually do. Very frustrating when your jumping on a 6 hour flight and your told the sandwich you've been waiting for for 25 minutes is going to have meat when you don't eat meat.

Yelp
Great local streetwear at reasonable prices. Usually you can park on the street. Be prepared, there is a security guard at the door and it's locked so you have to knock to come in.

Yelp
** The following review reflects my experience prior to the shelter-in-place order currently in effect. ** I be down with a store that hawks only-in-Oakland merchandise. Hell to the no that Oaklandish be anything close to outlandish. It ain't 'cause we be talkin' hipster Oakland T-shirts, baseball cups, and water bottles. Who knew Oakland was so happening? I did and rappers, I guess, and people who think San Francisco is so five minutes ago. If you're looking to extend your cool T collection, the stuff here was dope. Did I say that right? Yelp
Great place for quality Oakland streetwear apparel and souvenirs. Friendly customer service without being over-solicitous. Bought a tee that I needed to return for a bigger size (note: their unisex fit is boxy for a tall person, not the best for petite curvy girls!). Came in the next day and got the bigger size no problem! Easy exchange. The decor is cool and modern and makes you want to take pics inside. I love this place and was happy with my purchase!

Yelp
Great merchandise and excellent quality. I loved the selection, especially the Hieroglyphics collection. Thanks to Krystal, Bre'on, Dre, and Tre, they provided me and my daughter with elite professionalism and courtesy with our shopping experience. I get compliments on my gear. Thanks guys for my Bay Area drip. I respect the vibe and pride the apparel reflects. Me and my daughter are completely satisfied and will be back. May God continue to bless you folks

Yelp
Great customer service! I ordered online and did curbside pickup. Friendly, helpful staff! Definitely recommend for the quality & creativity of product as well.

Yelp
I bleed green and poop acorns and shop from these guys pretty often, but some of their cheesy-ass abominable designs tried too hard here & there from time to time, and their staff's "I'm too cool to serve you" attitude just kills a bit of the Townsmenship running hard within your veins.
google avatar

Yelp
I was tempted to give three stars but some of my complaints, I am sure, were related to COVID. Prices were very reasonable. Service was okay -- they gave me the wrong size and thank God I noticed before getting into my car and driving away. Seems like a major thing to screw up. My biggest complaint was whatever "system" they were utilizing for trying things on for size, and a substandard inventory when compared to their online store. I would definitely go back though and am happy with the stuff I purchased.

Yelp
I love Oaklandish and have been a fan ever since the very beginning. Why? I grew-up in Oakland and it was nice to finally see designs that proudly represented and celebrated the Town whether in reference to the Warriors, A's, Raiders, the Port of Oakland, Fairyland, key figures, communities, films, neighborhood restaurants and so on. There's a LOT to celebrate here! Oaklandish has also collaborated with local businesses and community organizations, along with supporting youth and education, which goes above and beyond the impact of other retail stores. I'm only giving 4 stars, because customer service has changed over the years. When we visited, the staff looked at us when we walked in, but didn't say anything at all. No hello, wave or nod. Nothing. What's going on Oaklandish? You're doing great things with your brand now just follow through and show a little respect and appreciation to the customers that come through. (Note: the staff member eventually talked to us when we were paying and was nice.) Prices are $25 - $30 for t-shirts and tanks and are available in a range of sizes from infants to adults. Jackets and sweatshirts are more expensive. They also sell hats, socks, backpacks, stickers, keychains, among other things.

Yelp
It has been fun to see Oaklandish grow so quickly. The store now has multiple locations and an increasing presence in the city. The shirt designs have also evolved. I probably prefer the OG designs, but I still love everything Oaklandish does and represents.

Yelp
I'm a big fan I've bought a lot of their t shirts over the years. I like that they represent local Oakland in a real way. Last time I went to their store there seemed to be a huge focus on men's big money sports teams which is a very specific vibe, seems very different from the woman friendly and artist focused oaklandish I know. I'm personally not into promoting men's sports teams maybe stuff like their skate wear would be cool and they still have pieces around the arts which make Oakland real and won't sexually harass cheerleaders or move to Las Vegas. It'd be nice if the shop made an effort to represent as many female athletes as they do male teams owned by millionaire guys that can move to another city at the drop of a hat Imthe website is a lot more soulful and female friendly than the shop. I'd like to buy stuff from them without feeling like I'm supporting a sports team and instead the arts maybe online is a better bet? It'd be cool if there were as many women's skate team, local skate shops and women's roller derby here along with these corporate teams. I didn't get the same vibe from the shop as I do from the website, I guess it's the dilemma you have as you get more popular. But it's great it's here!

Yelp
Great Shop! Very inspired designs. Downtown Oakland location was where we stopped by.

Yelp
I've been to this location multiple times, and most of the time it has been a pleasant experience. However, this time I went was hands down the WORST experience I have ever had at any clothing store. Parking was already hard, I had to pay $1 just for 30 minutes and walk a bit to this store. I'm a total Oaklandish fan, even if prices are pretty expensive. I've had my eyes on a specific black Champion x Oaklandish hoodie, but the location in Emeryville didn't have my size. I went to this location, in hope that I could get the specific size. I walked around the store for a bit but couldn't find it, so I asked the person who was working. He didn't even bother to look at me or say anything and just pointed to the hoodie (how rude already, no smile whatsoever!). I then proceeded to go and check it out, then came back and asked if they had my size. He went to the back, literally for one second and said no. At this point, I'm already annoyed at how rude he is. But my sister wanted to ask about their free shirts for students who get a 3.0+ GPA. His answer was so bland and one-word answers, so I just said thanks and left. I was literally there for less than 10 minutes. What a waste of driving around for parking, paying for it, then be treated like crap without any merchandise I really wanted! If he's an employee he should treat customers better. He was wearing an Oaklandish green jersey and I could tell he hated his job. He was just on his phone the entire time (literally getting paid just to play on his phone!?) If you don't like your job, then you should just quit and apply for something that is better suited for you. I would give zero stars for his lack of effort to help me!

Yelp
Amazing support especially from Jackie Ho! Sadly my favorite windbreaker from oaklandish tore in the washer and let me just say having your daily driver break is one of the more heart breaking things :( luckily I had the amazing idea of simply emailing oaklandish and telling them what happened. My sister told me it was a waste of time however in just 1 day they immediately got back to me with a brand new jacket!. Sadly the one I had was sold out which is not surprising since it was so good but i greatly appreciate oaklandish for supporting me since I don't really have the money to afford buying jackets so from me to you thank you!

Yelp
Be careful buying their clothes. I bought a green hat and the color faded after 2 days. I brought it back and they told me I bleached it .... Bleached? Whaaa

Yelp
I've been a fan of Oaklandish since they were running Liberation Drive-In, when they only had one tee shirt style, and instead of stores they were slinging shirts out of their truck. Honestly, half of my t-shirt wardrobe is from Oaklandish. They've had a few gaffes over the years, both in design and customer service. They think Oracle Arena and the Oakland Coliseum are the same thing! Instead of admitting their error, they said the Arena is part of the Oakland Coliseum Complex, therefore their design wasn't wrong. They ended up scrapping that shirt. On their Oakland Streets shirt, they hailed Broadway, Telegraph, MacArthur and International. That is until locals told them OGs call it E 14th. Scrapped that shirt too. The BART tree shirt has Lafayette but no Castro Valley. Lafayette? Posh ass Lafayette? It's not even the same county! What gets my 3 star review mostly is NO REFUNDS. It was pointed out to me in small print, but really, a new, obviously unworn item, with tags, still folded and smelling like it came out of the store, WITH a receipt. NO REFUNDS. What a terrible anti-customer policy.

Yelp
I've always wanted to come here but never found the time but I'm here now. Mainly to come pick up my 2018 Oaktown Race packet for the weekend. Located in or near downtown Oakland it's busy and parking is not great so I don't stop here much. The store is neat and laid out nice with great Oakland memorabilia. I will have to come back and take time to shop next time. Staff was great and prices are reasonable.
google avatar

Yelp
4.5 stars Hands down the dopest locally owned store in Oakland. Their IG account keeps me up to date on new arrivals and sale items. Best part is their home goods section; also products from local vendors. Women's clothing section leaves much to be desired.

Yelp
So just had to do it. I had to go to one of my favorite fashion spots and write about them. This is a little different for me because I usually to write about food. It's kind of strange but for some reason I've been very nostalgic about the Bay area. I grew up here.... And things are changing so much we have imported people from different spots coming around gentrifying the neighborhood, which bring different dreams and changes the vibe of the place, I love so much. In which is not bad, but seriously makes me feel like... I dont know where I am from at times. I am bayarea breadcrumbs. So, places like oaklandish really speaks to me. It Just gives your city ...not just city pride, but Bay area pride. The place has two flagship stores. It is a fashion retail store located in Oakland. I was told that everything sold in the store that is screen printed helps benefit local non-profit type things. I remember when this place used to operate outside of an art gallery in Jack London square around 2005. And then around 2011 they opened a downtown store, I would often see "oaklandish" sell their stuff at the eat real festival too! But the truth was I didn't have any money to buy their stuff... Most recently oaklandish partnered with Dame Lillard(who is from oakland) to make a limited design for a basketball shoe. In speaking of basketball I just have to say it but the Golden State Warriors Jerseys there is one that I really think Oaklandish built and made for them, (whomever thier designers are). The heart of Oakland. To me...Is the Oracle arena, in which the warriors will be leaving, Yet, places like Oaklandish are mini staples built In the style to which helps Generate, Nostalgia, history, of where the bayarea was, is, and is heading. Pretty soon, when I can no longer afford to stay in the bay. Due to the higher cost of living, and as the us census will tell us California is overly populated from kids from Nebaska and Colorado moving to the bay area for tech jobs with thier used vinyl collection, and Welsh corgis...I will long gone from here, but what I will forever be wearing is my Oaklandish t-shirts! I salute you Oaklandish for telling the story of the bay, with fashion.

Yelp
The entire philosophy of Oaklandish simply resonates with me... Promote pride of place through unique graphic tees that connect people to the places they call home, Support community nonprofits with 10% of web proceeds and, Uphold the B Corporation as a socially responsible venture using profits as a force for good... This is why I traveled from Sacramento to visit this store in Oakland. As I have been wanting to visit Oaklandish for over a year and finally decided to make it a daytrip venture. I met one of the artists and she explained how the entire crew decides on the new designs they come up with. In other words, they are all artists in their own way as they envision and create designs based on what they do, live, and experience. Yet they collaborate and collectively agree upon what will be put in print and sold in the store. Educational Aspect: There is a silk screening room in the basement and after all the artist/ employees collectively agree upon the design they are trained on how to set the silk screen. With a premise of inviting the public in to not only view and appreciate their art, but also to hopefully buy the end product, which is an interesting distinctive tee shirt. They are all so very different as the personalities of each artist come out in their work. I wanted to buy the all, but my budget didn't call for that so I had the arduous task of deciding on 3 tees. There is a web site for Oaklandish but in my opinion, and since it made me get outta the house, I made the trip to Oakland and met one the artists. Unfortunately I forgot to ask her name, however she explained on how she came up with her designs and gave me some ideas on how to make the tees look a bit more feminine. She's on the women's page wearing the green tee with Oakland's skyline... You will undoubtedly love this store. Make a trip of it. Take the train so you don't have to worry about parking. This store is in walking distance from Jack London Square and there are many fun eclectic places to visit in the Temescal district near Telegraph Avenue

Yelp
Originally came across their apparel when looking for Warriors gear as gifts for my obsessed-fan 80-year-old parents. Later, stopped by the store and picked up a couple of things for my daughters. It's a rare place that can execute on designs so stylish that they can span teenage girls and octogenarians, but Oaklandish does it.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
I loce this place in the Bay. I got some cool as patches and stickers and they are the shit. I have a T-Shirt I made into a tank top from here that is so sexy everyone is like where did you get that and I'm like, "Oaklandish. The Store.". I also have a sweatshirt from way back in fhe day when I used to live in Berkeley that says, "I love Oakland" and everyone from elsewhere thinks it's so funny. I'm like what's so funny about my sweatshirt.
google avatar

Quane L.

Yelp
I enjoy everything about this store! From the clothing, to the decor, to the amazing customer service I also get when I walk in. Not being from the Bay Area this store makes me feel welcome! When you're there look for Brandon, he's awesome and such a joy!
google avatar

Franke H.

Yelp
I'm giving this spot a 3 star. While I love the location and the product I bought. Wtf is up with the customer service. The young brother at the counter has no self awareness on how he is perceived where I had to even ask him why is he looking at me the way he was. I was asking questions that seemed foreign (like size of shirts and what's in stock). He eventually got it together but I was going to just leave without purchase and even felt like returning my ish but saw on the receipt I couldn't (imagine that). Like seriously yawll get it together!

Yelp
Every year, I try and do most of my holiday shopping in my town of Oakland to help support local merchants. I spent Small Business Saturday shopping in my neighborhood, which includes Oaklandish on Broadway. I live only a few blocks away and have shopped there before. I've always had courteous (though, occasionally, apathetic) customer service - until tonight. Tonight, I watched a tall guy at the counter chat with a young, black woman in a very friendly and somewhat flirty manner. When it was my turn to ask a question, he gave me the kind of look I grew up receiving far too many times. I recognized that look. It's the "I don't want you here" look. I'm a Latina immigrant but people often mistake me for Caucasian. Growing up in a predominantly Caucasian world, I experienced my share of both subtle and sometimes noticeable racism. This guy made it clear he didn't want me there and didn't want to help me. It was obvious to me compared with the other sales clerk who was very friendly and smiley and compared to the way this guy addressed other customers. It felt pretty lousy. I'm seriously considering returning everything I bought and spending my money where the sales clerks don't judge customers on the basis of their appearance. It's really unfortunate. It's a good brand and they have cool stuff but not cool enough to overlook the way they treat customers. There are tons of great local brands in this town. I won't shop here again.
google avatar

Jeff E.

Yelp
Love the shop. It is such a cool spot that really captures the Oakland vibe. Everything they sell is high quality and crazy stylish. They also have some kids sizes. Unfortunately, the youth sizes are mostly designs that are for smaller kids, so pre-teen kids may have a hard time finding something more cool in a size small enough for them. The staff is really cool and they go out of their way to try to help you find something you want.

Yelp
A few years back I stopped in at Oaklandish and I so wanted that snowglobe they had on display, but it was not for sale...oh boo hoo. I ended up getting a nice canvas bag for about $15. It is still in pretty condition and I use it for one of my shopping bags at the grocery store. Four months ago, Oaklandish was at the Yelp 50 event in Berkeley and it was there that I purchased two T-shirts - the Oakland A's 2012 AL Champ and the blue (with bridge) one, which I guess represents the Warriors. The gentleman assisting me gave me the coolest canvas bag to carry around (black and emblazoned with Oaklandish). Earlier this afternoon and during my 20 block walk from 29th & Telegraph to Oakland Chinatown, I decided to do a pit stop at Oaklandish and see what else I can purchase. Yes, they are a little pricey, but 10% of all proceeds goes to support Oakland Nonprofits Organization. The employees (all three) were friendly and helpful. I did find the perfect T-shirt to wear to an A's game (white Tee, Oaklandish and the sleeves in green) for $24. I was holding the T-shirt, not realizing that one of the employees went ahead and placed a medium sized one on the counter for my purchase. (I'm impressed and I did not expect that.) The other T-shirt that caught my eyes was the one that said "hella tight". Yep, I'm "hella tight" at times when I feel like it..."hella tight" as in stingy when them friggin telemarketers are trying to squeeze money out of my wallet...trying to get me to buy somethin that I don't need. Then, if I get a "hella tight" T-shirt from Oaklandish, I better get the right size; otherwise, it's gonna be "hella tight" fit on me...LOL. Okay, the black hoodie they had was also cool and hip..."pride roots...Oaklandish"...love it. Besides clothing for men, women and children, they also carry handcrafted earrings, bath soaps from a local vendor, Oakland Magazine, jars of jams ($15), backpacks and water bottles.

Yelp
A tried and true Oakland staple. A must for all visitors to the town and Oaklanders alike. The owner Angela Tsay is a woman of color who truly gives back to the community. Oaklandish sponsors events and holds monthly First Friday parties at the store. Major Oakland businesses including Make Westing, Lungomare, Brown Sugar Kitchen and B-Side BBQ have turned to the company for T-shirt designs and logos. Oaklandish awards thousands of dollars a year to nonprofits, and its Facebook page reads like a guide to local events in the city. How awesome is that? Outside of supporting homegrown small businesses, they have amazing product designs, store layout, customer service and the icing on the cake? A free Oaklandish tote with every purchase. Love seeing them grow and was happy to see they have set up shop at the Oakland airport!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome products - horrible service. 2nd year I came to pick up a gift for my son and waited in line a very very long time. Odd that a business would choose to have only one register - can't figure that one out
google avatar

Lee B.

Yelp
Cool store and shirts. However they use different shirt brands for different designs. That means the sizes are all different. I usually have to try on the T-shirts in the store. And when I buy shirts online it's a gamble. Not to mention the high prices. I still have Oaklandish stickers on everything and will to continue to support the local brand. I'll just be cranky about it.
google avatar

Edwyna B.

Yelp
Ummmmm, very scarce selection on Oakland items. We thought they were going out of business:-(
google avatar

Cath M.

Yelp
The baby bro finally took me here last week and definitely impressed at their selection and their design! GOOD JOB!!! The staff were friendly... helped me with sizing and trying them out... good vibes all around including the ambiance within the store! Bought two shirts that I'll definitely be representing in LALAland... hoping to stack up for more next time out. Keep up the good work and great addition to Oakland!

Daniel A.

Yelp
Bought a Tee-shirt that was part of a one-time swag run for where I work. The shirt didn't fit so they sent me a new one, even though they can't sell the one I'm sending back. Super service.

Support our community, B certified corporation, buy with intention. Great customer service and local love.

Yelp
Parked outside the other day during the Warriors Championship Parade. They have some very original apparel and have a good selection. It's located in Downtown Oakland on Broadway and near 14th Street. The opened their doors at 8:30am and sold some original "local" Warriors Championship t-shirts. Cool designs and a very friendly and helpful staff. It's nice to support a store that's so rooted in the community.

Ellen M.

Yelp
Wow got my t-shirts really fast. This store is really on top of it. As always great quality. Thanks Oaklandish! Like new fairyland tshirts. Real cute. Whoever designed, clever. Thanks, Ellen.

Yelp
What a great place to park yourself in front of for the Warrior parade. They opened up at 8:30 am to sell exclusive Warriors shirts and the line was out the door and down the block. Q102 was bumpin' all the bay classic slaps and 95.7 The Game was also broadcasting the parade and tossing shirts into the crowd. The shop is a great place to pick up all things related to the Town from shirts and jeans to candy and spices. The staff was friendly and more than happy to get you whatever you needed / wanted. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the O... Go Dubs! And thank you Oaklandish for doing your part to keep local mom and pop shops thriving and for keeping all of the fans within earshot noddin' their heads and getting Hyphy when the floats and busses made their way down Broadway... Cheers!

Yelp
Oaklandish had become rather popular among locals. We made the trek there finally. The store design is very clean, where only display items are on the floor. You'll have to ask the cashier for your size. Sure it reduces clutter, but we had to wait in the slow-moving line just to inquire if our size was available, with only one guy behind the counter. This is where all the shirts are stocked. I could hear at least 2 other people in the back room meanwhile we waited and waited. Customer service is at a glacial pace. Go online for your orders! It'll save you a lot of time and have a better chance for finding something that'll fit you there. I really like the concept, Oakland pride with the items being screened in the same city, offering jobs to locals. A small business that supports the community is always a good thing. However, I wish the customer service was more efficient. SIGH.

Yelp
I love the brand, been rockin it for a minute. I love Oakland pride, and what the brand does for the community. With that being said. Customer service was terrible. I was met with a to cool attitude, know one really wanted to check in sizes. My overall shopping experience there was trash. I'll continue to support the brand cause I love Oakland, but y'all need to pick up on your employees better. It's called customer service for a reason

Yelp
My wife bought me a shirt for Valentine's Day. She wasn't sure what size but they assured her she could exchange it. I went in to trade it out and was told they didn't have the right size. I found something similar and was told it was $14 more. I said I would like to just return it. The clerk smugly laughed and said no returns. Now I'm stuck with a store credit I don't want to a store I will never go back to. Not cool Not community Not Oakland

Yelp
This is a wonderful store! I arrived on a TUESDAY (matter of fact LAST Tuesday, at around noon), and as I attempted to open the door, I realized it was locked. But as I looked disappointed, this beautiful Brother still assisted me. Can't wait till they ACTUALLY open!

Yelp
Oaklandish is my favorite place. Whether you're an Oakland native or not, this store will make you love Oakland. On top of hip t-shirt designs, trendy knick-knacks, and a cozy storefront, the Oaklandish mission is one I can get behind. They're a B-Corporation, and according to their website, give back to local grassroots organizations and locally source all of their artwork and merchandise. I've bought many a t-shirt, patch, pin, and trinket at Oaklandish, and have never been disappointed with the service. The employees helped me find the t-shirts I wanted and even figured out the right size that works best for me. Not to mention, they are extremely friendly and personable. They really personify the sense of community and love I feel in Oakland. Although the pricing seems a bit steep for my small, student bank account ($30 for a t-shirt), I'm happy to give that money to a local business that supports the community as opposed to a big- box, corporate retailer.

Yelp
The low rating here is based purely on customer service. 3/4 times shopping here, I've encountered detached and/or rude customer service. I feel like they should easily be able to do better.
