The Best New Hotels in the U.K. for Your Next Visit

"Pretty much anything creative director Alex Eagle does gets our attention: the creative director was the brains behind concept space The Store at Soho Farmhouse. Now, she’s been called in to give Berkshire’s 118 room Oakley Court a do-over. The result is effortlessly eclectic: There are plush Eagle & Hodges couches, with oriental rugs set snugly beneath mid-century chairs. The beds are big and comfy, dressed in the kind of big, bold, stripy bed linen that evokes long, lazy summer days. Elsewhere, there’s a gym and pool area with infrared saunas, and a restaurant and terrace set along the river. In the summertime, you can play tennis at the on-site courts, or follow one of the nature trails that wind around the grounds."

My family stayed just one night to celebrate my wife's birthday, taking 4 rooms in total. The rooms are very traditionally furnished, in keeping with the style of the house and the beds were extremely comfortable. Dinner was excellent - both the quality of the food and the service. Staff were friendly, helpful and generally very chilled (without being unattentive). And it's a dog-friendly hotel, so our family furry friend could join in the celebrations. I would undoubtedly return

I booked a long weekend with my daughters and one fiancé as a surprise break for them- initially choosing it as a venue because of the Rocky Horror connection. We’re all fans, and i thought it would please them. As a surprise it worker beautifully, and as a stay it was even better, surpassing anything i could gave hoped for. The Court itself is of course beautiful. The grounds are stunning. The most impressive part by a long way was the staff who could not have done anything more to make it a wonderful and memorable break for all of us. We pushed the boat out on Friday and joined the Chef Akira Japanese fusion tasting experience. It was a very lively, fun crowd of just 12 and wirth every penny. Stunningly good food, ably hosted, beautifully presented. Could not recommend this place enough. I absolutely loved every second of it thank you, all x

We went here for my Husband’s 70th birthday and had a lovely stay.|We stayed in the boathouse in one of the large river views and it was huge. Very comfortable King sized bed, separate seating area with armchairs, sofa and table , 2 TV’s, bath/shower stocked with cowshed toiletries, i bought the body scrub as it was so nice. |The room came with coffee & tea, little fridge with water coke and milk, plus a welcome home made cookie. There was also a snack box with crisps, popcorn and other goodies like chocolate and jelly tots. |The hotel is stunning, so many areas of beauty and interest, lots of different places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. We ate lunch on the terrace and i had the chicken salad which was superb, must try this. Husband had a burger, we had pizzas for evening meal. |The breakfast was very good, lots of choice to help yourself and you can order omelettes etc if you want. I have full English and peanut butter and banana on rye bead, plus greek yoghurt and strawberries. |There is a swimming pool, with steam room and sauna, plus jacuzzi and a full gym. We used all but the gym. |The grounds are amazing, it is right on the river and boats gently pass up and down. At night the trees are all lit up like a fairy grotto, i loved it here.|The staff were great, the service was excellent and everyone was very professional yet friendly. |We had a wonderful stay, thank you.

Rating: 6/10 The grounds are beautiful and the food is good, but the overall experience could use more care. Furniture by the water was stained and unusable, and even the room furniture had visible marks. We initially booked self-guided boats but canceled after seeing how poorly maintained they were. The TV in the room is extremely outdated — the only way to stream is through your phone, and for some reason it kept turning on by itself in the middle of the night, waking us up with its light. It seriously needs replacing. Board games were mostly empty boxes covered in dust, despite being advertised as an amenity. Breakfast hours were inconsistent (one day until 11am, another day closed before 10am), which was confusing and disappointing. Towels were also insufficiently provided. The River House restaurant was the worst part: we waited over an hour for a burger, received no apology, and were still charged a £7.50 service fee. The staff would benefit from better training and attention to service. Overall, it’s an “okay” experience with lovely surroundings, but it lacks attention to detail — even at checkout, the reception felt a bit absent-minded.

From beginning to end, Oakley Court offers a beautiful, luxury, quintessentially British, riverside hotel experience. With the added bonus of access to Soho Riverhouse through a gate at the bottom of the garden, this summer stay was exceptional. All of the staff were approachable and friendly, my room was stunningly clean and well maintained, the bed was very comfortable, and I slept peacefully through the night. The room service breakfast was served piping hot and representative of the luxury experienced elsewhere on-site. ||Whilst I can imagine a stay here might be very different if the weather didn't allow you to enjoy the outdoor space, sitting by the river and enjoying drinks and good food in the shadow of the beautiful manor was well worth the price paid. There's also plenty of lounge and bar seating indoors should the heavens open, but I personally enjoyed the ambience of being by the river the most.||I'd happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for something truly special in the Windsor area. You'd pay a lot more for a lot less elsewhere in London.

Oakley Court was just breathtaking! A perfect hidden gem in the landscape of Windsor. The most stunning grounds and facilities, friendly and lovely staff and delicious food! The rooms and decor was perfect and it just had such a lovely vibe overall the entire time I was there! I can’t wait to go back and spend the weekend with the girls!

Oakley Court was actually great, I spent 4 days there to get a break from work life. The grand exterior to the calm riverside setting, it felt like I’d hopped in a movie; but with so much grounds it’s like it was just me. The rooms were elegant and peaceful. The staff I think were my favourite bit genuinely lovely and accommodating. Would 100% go back. It’s one of those places that makes you slow down and I can’t lie got loads of pictures for the gram.

Oakley Court is one of the most stunning grounds I’ve stayed on. I couldn’t believe how vast the space was with it over looking the Thames - it’s the perfect mix of regal and tranquil. The rooms are great, staff are delightful and the food was amazing! The whole place is breathtaking and you get to see more of it on the boat rides they do. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great hotel and restaurant. The staff go out of their way to provide great service. Beautiful 19th century manor and estate. Beautiful grounds decorated with great works of art including Jordan Webb sculptures in wood of animals.
