If I could give 0 stars I would. The only positive about this hotel is that it’s close to everything in the CBD. Unfortunately, our overall experience was extremely disappointing.
We had requested a cot for our 3-month-old baby when booking, but upon arrival, there was no cot available. We were told none could be provided the first night and were instead expected to have our baby sleep in our bed, which was just two single beds pushed together. When we explained that wasn’t safe, the reception staff (who were very rude) claimed we’d been “upgraded” to a two-bedroom apartment that we didn’t ask for and which faced a noisy construction site.
On the second night, a portacot was provided, but it was completely unusable. The base was ripped, and it wouldn’t stay open. Reception refused to replace it and instead offered extra blankets to cover the tears, which was unsafe for our baby. They still tried to charge us $20 per night for the broken cot without even offering a replacement and only refunded us after we explained that she would probably fall straight through it as it was that torn, if it didn’t collapse on her first.
The apartment itself was reasonably clean but poorly presented. The bed wasn’t made properly, with only a loose sheet on top of the mattress protector, which slipped off straight away. The quilt cover was just two loose sheets that came undone immediately and even had a visible bloodstain on the quilt. The toilet seat wouldn’t stay up, and the shower head faced the wall and couldn’t be adjusted.
To make things worse, we paid $80 through the hotel for parking and were given a code. When leaving, the code was invalid, and we were forced to pay an additional $80 just to exit the car park.
Overall, this was an unsafe and frustrating stay with unhelpful staff, poor facilities, and additional unexpected costs. I would not recommend this hotel.
