Oaks Glenelg Plaza Pier Suites

Booked a last minute stay here during a weekday. We didn't have any issues getting a room. What we got was fine for what we needed. The room was clean, we had a little pattio that looked over the neighbouring park. The bathroom was clean, bit dated but still fine. The staff were polite and helpful. The location was perfect for what we needed.

Difficult to make general comments, because there appears to be many different room layouts, each having different advantages and disadvantages, and in various states of updates. Mine was ok - good-sized living area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Good lighting in all areas. But having the shower in a bath that was raised off the floor, and with a narrow bath base, presented some challenges. One of our group had to obtain a room change because his wife slipped in this combination. Other rooms had just a shower, or a separate bath and shower. Apart from this problem, the bathroom had good lighting and adequate shelf space. Bed was firm but comfy, good pillows with a choice. Good wardrobe space, but only one hanger is ridiculous. Purchased ten more hangers for only $3.70, why couldn’t the apartments do the same? Small TV in living hard to see from across the room. Again, other rooms had bigger TVs.|All staff friendly and very helpful. Rooms regularly serviced.|So ok for price, but could benefit from standardisation across rooms.

Ready good clean rooms. Well equipped and spacious. Worth noting that the Pier hosts an event most Fridays and Saturdays which is a bit noisy. However we never heard it from our room. I enjoyed my stay and would go back. We used Belle Apartments who are very helpful.

We had a lovely weekend in a two bedroom apartment here. We were upgraded to ocean view which was lovely. Apartment clean and warm with full amenities and very well stocked kitchen. Impressed it had a washer dryer too. We loved the indoor pool and spa (it was the middle of winter). There was some loud music coming from the club below but it stopped around 9pm so wasn't an issue.

I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment with my parents. Nice views from balcony. Great location on the beach, close to restaurants and shops (note parking is extra). Unfortunately the tram into the city is out of service for a few months, but replaced with buses. WiFi was intermittent, but I didn't bother to ask reception. The room had good kitchen facilities and a washer/drier. The main bedroom was quite small and there wasn't much room to move around.

The room was clean, comfortable bed, great shower. Only issue was, half the TV channels didn't work. Which wasn't a major issue as was out and about most of the stay.. Other wise perfect stay. Thanks

Disgusting dirty mold infested bathroom. Door swollen from moisture. Generally old and run down. Music pumping downstairs. I would not recommend. Photos provided. I would personally question any 5 star reviews but will leave the images for you to make your own assumptions.

I have stayed at this hotel several times, twice in the last month, and housekeeping gets worse and worse each time.||Late afternoon of the second day, no housekeeping was evident. Upon ringing Front Desk we were told there would be no housekeeping for our stay as it was not included in our booking. I showed the Front Desk people my booking which stated "daily housekeeping". They apologized and sent a cleaner to our room who changed the towels and nothing else. And that was the extent of the housekeeping each day. Beds not made, dishes not done, tables not wiped down, vacuuming not done.||On checkout, I asked Front Desk what exactly was covered in daily housekeeping. I was told: change towels, bed making, do dishes or stack dishwasher and turn on, dust, wipe down tables, vacuum.||As has been stated in other reviews, housekeeping, and general cleanliness of the rooms leave a lot to be desired. My previous stay the carpet had nuts and chips crushed into it which was never cleaned. The bathrooms are mouldy as evidenced by other photo's here. Milk, sugars, not replaced. Laundry, dish detergent not replaced. One Chux wipe per stay. Tea towel not replaced daily.||Items are broken, lamps do not work, washing machine does not work, toilet kept flushing, cupboard door over a microwave oven sticks out at head height, an accident waiting to happen.||Communication amongst the Front Office staff is non existent, as is knowledge of their business operating procedures. Ask one person a question and their answer will be at odds with someone else. In one instance the Front Office person I spoke to had no idea what to do about the continuously flushing toilet. I listened to another staff member who had no idea where the tram replacement buses were located. And don't send the Front Office an email because they don't check them. ||If all this wasn't so appalling it would be laughable. And Management, please don't type out the identical response you give to every review - because this hotel does NOT have high standards. And that is a shame.||Having said all this, I would possibly come back, because location is hard to beat and the rooms are generally comfortable. Just work on the cleaning....
